Learning Photoshop Elements

I've been a paper scrapper for years and now I want to start doing some digital pages as well. I have Photoshop Elements 11. I watched a few tutorials I'd found on youtube but they went too fast and assumed I knew a little more than I do.

Can anyone recommend some true beginner resources? Nameley, I need to know how to lay down a background sheet of paper, how to place a photo, how to put a frame around it...basic things. I really like to try some that are free before having to purchase a class, etc.

Thanks

Hi! Do you ever go into Designer Digitals? Katie Pertiet sends out an Element tip almost every week that helps to learn about different things in both Photoshop and PSE. Here is the link...she also sends out freebies almost every week. Here is the link to the video tuturials. I'll try to go back and find the link for the basics. I took a free course at Jessicasprague.com to get started with Photoshop Elements and that really helped me get started...I'll have to let you know if she gives away another freebie course.

Here is another link when I "searched" How to learn Photoshop Elements 11?

Photoshop Elements 11 Tutorial 1: Getting Started - YouTube

I saw a whole lot of youtube videos so you probably just have to have patience and time to look through and pick out what you can use. I used my DH's laptop to look at videos and my laptop to try things out while they were being explained..worked out great!

You can also hang out with the rest of us scrappers and digiscrappers in the scrapbooking forums.
