I have had a great time checking out the list. One site that I like, but did not see mentioned is MY GRAFICO - DIGITAL ARTS AND CRAFTS STORE They have freebies and their regular priced items are reasonable as well.
Thanks again.
Thanks for this link. It looks like this site has lots of fun hybrid projects too!
Gingerscraps has a cute freebie kit they're offering this month in a daily download. So does Divine Digital. Peppermint Creative has a cute little freebie cowboy-themed mini kit.
Also, make sure you check out the monthly challenges on digiscrapping websites. Often there are freebies associated with them. For example, at Brownie Scraps, we have a Brownie Indulgence challenge - you get mini kit for free and the challenge is to create a page using every pieces of the kit. I also host a monthly hybrid challenge there and I provide a template for it!
Brownie Scraps Monthly Challenges
Flexible working; at the beginning of it allows you to select an area of the image and shape, but lets you then determine the size of the white border, and in the next step will set you beyond the limits of the regions. Procedure makes use of layer masks and this allows you to edit the final effect in the end.
One of my #1 go-to places if I'm looking for a particular themed kit is DigiShop Talk. They have a thread where you can either post a request for different sites containing a kit like you're looking for or you can run a search of a thread already started. For example, if I'm looking for kits that center around picnics. I just go here:
and then search for "picnic." There are usually lots of suggestions from other posters, usually with a preview of the kit. VERY helpful. The kits are not usually free, but if you need something special, this is an easy way to go!
One of the best places for motivation and great inpiration - they run some really fun challenges and right now they are doing an ABC book....is actually a FB fanpage, https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/mymemoriessuite
Their store also has quite a bit to offer and don't forget to check out the freebie tab. www.mymemories.com
I'm looking for SAFE freebie download sites! I started out browsing some of the sites in this thread and somewhere along the way, my computer was attacked with a nasty virus. Makes me scared to browse any more :( I'm not sure if it was a direct link that was posted here, or if it was another link on one of those sites which took me somewhere else. It happened so fast!
Four or five years ago when I used to do digiscrapping, I had a blog or two that I checked daily because they posted links to all kinds of freebies. Unfortunately, when i cleaned out my bookmarks list, all of my digiscrap bookmarks were deleted because I had quit the hobby.
Now that I'm ready to get back in to it, I
a) got a virus which makes me scared to download freebies like I used to.
b) can't find any blogs like that, which lists lots of goodies all in one spot.
Oh no Vicki! I hope you can get your computer cleaned up.
Unfortunately freebies can be risky. That's one of the main reasons I am very very picky about what freebies I download. That and the quality of freebies in general is hit and miss. I only download from designers that I am familiar with.
Here are 2 sites that compiles freebies for you, but there is no guarantee of safety or quality.
I think it was posted before, but the Blog Train Blog is another good one. Every other month about 100 designers come together and offer mini kits that coordinate into one mega kit.
You'll find me in there this month ;) I have never heard any complaints about viruses from anyone participating, but IMO some of the quality is less than stellar.
Your safest bet is to go to digital stores/forums and finding freebies from the designers that sell there. Random blog hopping is risky.
But honestly, the few dollars you spend on a full kit from a reputable designer is well worth the time/energy you spend searching for freebies and having to worry about viruses and quality.

And I agree that general blog hopping/downloading is so risky! I would love to find one or two digital stores that has sales/great deals often, but even the selection of digi stores is overwhelming, lol! Especially when I haven't established a pick of fave designers yet! I'm like you - I look at the quality!
I have downloaded freebies from MyGrafico and have never had any problems with them. In addition to the freebies on the site, you can sign up for their weekly newsletter which includes a freebie. The freebie changes each week and is not listed elsewhere on the site.
We have a shop - Heritage Scrap - that hosts a beautiful collection of vintage, heritage and altered art digital scrap designs. We have commercial use, Scrap for Hire and Personal Use licensing.
Does anyone know where I can find some good background scenes to digi scrap? I had a collection of them and deleted them!! I thought I was just deleting them out of Picasa, but really deleted them. Thanks for any help.

Oh what a heart-sickening thing to have happen - I hate losing a file or photo that I wanted to keep! :(
As for background scenes, I'm not sure if this is what you have in mind, but I have a digi kit for sale in my shop called "Painterly Scenics" - GingerScraps :: Kits :: Painterly Scenics {the kit} by Cari Cruse. If you look at the detailed images you will see one that shows the papers, which have outdoor scenes.

Try going to the forums at DigiShopTalk and look for the "In Search Of" (ISO) thread. You can post a request for suggestions and/or search that thread for posts already there looking for background scenes. It is an amazingly helpful resource!

There is a great resource commercial use shop if you are a digital designer and are looking for items to help you create kits or other digital projects. When I first started selling my creations, they became my favorite "GoTo" website. They have a huge collection of digital scrap designs, templates and other designer resources.
The website is called Commercial-Use.com. They only sell commercial use and scrap for hire items there. No personal use. My personal favorite area is the Printable/Hybrid section HERE. However, if you are looking for personal use items then they also have a personal use site called Personal-Use.com.
Hope that helps those who are looking for something like this....
For all the digi scrappers out there and for those of you who’d like to try their hand at it but don’t want to spend any money while doing it -- Below is a list of some of the places I go for DIGI FREEBIES. Hope you find it helpful.
Searching for/downloading freebies can be a hobby in itself! Sometimes I spend more time doing this than actually digiscrapping, but I love it!
PLEASE NOTE: It often takes a few days into the month before they get the ball rolling on some of these sites, so be patient and check back. And I always make it a policy to say thank you for their time, talent & trouble. After all, they’re offering us something FREE and often, the goodies are super!
Please keep in mind that there is always a risk of getting a virus when searching on websites. You should have a good up-to-date virus protection program if you're going to search for freebies. Still, there are never guarantees. But I can say that I have searched the sites I've listed below (and have a good virus protection program) and have never had a problem.

starts January 2, I believe. There are approx. 100 designers that contribute to this blogtrain which has a common theme and color scheme. Great way for newbies to collect a lot of goodies to play with. I’m not a newbie, but still love these blogtrains—you can pick & choose the parts you want to download, so why not? The Blog Train Blog

You have some really cool vintage freebies on your site!!
Where do you live in AZ? I'm not far from the Glendale Sports Arena.
Was looking at a thread dated 2009 & it talked about SU! digital software that was coming....so now its late 2012 & they are introducing their 2nd version of MDS already. I am part of a SU! club and am seriously thinking of going the digital route instead of traditional. Has anyone tried MDS or MDS2? Is it easy to use? Is it easy to use with other freebie downloads? What didn't you like about it? Should I skip SU version & use something else instead??
I post free kits as I find them on my SilhouetteSavvy Facebook page. They are obviously great for Digital Scrappers and I love to use them with the Silhouette as well. If you want access to more free files, the link is in my signature. All you have to do is "Like" the page and check FB for files.
I think it's great to be able to share with each other. Thank you all for sharing with me too!
