This morning we discovered that DH's car needs a new solenoid switch (not too expensive, but still a pain). So he took my car in to work, which is perfectly fine - he can run home, pick DD up and get her to school on time. Except that someone else at work was going to be late, which meant he couldn't get her there on time. Ok, I'm still not upset....I'll take an extra hour with my little darling in the morning (she's NEVER late to school, so I don't stress about that stuff).
Well, he came home to get her, they got back in my car........and it wouldn't start. Yesterday when I ran to the grocery store I noticed that she had left her light on above her seat on Saturday when we went somewhere. I turned it off, but it had still been draining the battery for 24 hours. My car was slow to crank, but it still did. And it did this am for DH. But I guess we used up all the juice, lol! So back inside she came (while DH went next door to borrow jumper cables and a running vehicle!), and we read a couple books and packed up the last of the holiday greenery (into new plastic containers I had been waiting to purchase). DH got the car started, and I don't need a new battery, thank goodness.
I should be aggravated that I didn't get half of what I wanted to accomplish checked off my list this morning, and it's just about time to get DS up from his nap. I mean really - it was one silly problem after another. But I'm NOT
I think this whole thing was a great reminder of what IS important, and remembering to stop and enjoy the little things
I wouldn't trade that extra 90 minutes, extra cuddles, fun conversations, giggles, and hugs for anything. Crafty work and housework can wait.
