Default 8/30 The things we take for granted....

Boy, I'll tell you what....we sure do have a lot of "things" that we take for granted, don't we? With Hurricane Irene tormenting the East coast this past weekend, many of us realized just how much we take for granted. Praise the Lord we were spared from harm or damage to our home (which in and of itself is a sure blessing because the winds were crazy bad) but we did lose power for 17 hours.....and with that we also lost our running water (we have a well). I can tell you THAT was getting to be a pretty ugly thing. No power isn't too big a deal (well, as long as you can save your freezer and fridge contents, which we attempted to do....but no running water is the pits!

Unfortunately, we weren't very prepared {hubby tends to think the weathermen overestimate these things--need I more ;)?} so this all came as quite an inconvenience for us. Of course we survived but some of our food didn't. Lessons learned.....it's better to be OVER prepared than UNDER prepared ;) AND don't forget to count your blessings !!

Thank you God for ALL the little things we use and rely on each day. May we not forget they are each blessings from you .
