Default CC780 That Rich Peacock is Eating Olives! (2/25/20)

Hello, Color Lovers! It is my pleasure to be your hostess again this week. Before we get to
this week's colors, let's celebrate last week's favorite!

Barbara was our hostess, and she chose Fondest Childhood Memories by Roberta aka stampin'nana.

Barbara said, " This card jumped right out of the gallery at me! Roberta's sledding kiddos are so cute, all dressed up in their colors-of-the-week snowsuits. I love the layout, how she fussy cut around them and the hill and placed all those wonderful trees behind them. Roberta has also inspired me to get going on my 2020 Christmas cards!"

Congratulations, Roberta! The code to add the badge to your blog is
attached below, and your card also will be pinned on our Pinterest
Challenge board. Check it out here.

And now, on to this week's colors!
Rich Razzleberry
Pretty Peacock
Old Olive

Did you know that you are always welcome to use the Neutral family from the SU color palette in addition to the challenge colors? You can find those colors here.

For the dessert option this week, use vellum somewhere on your card.

Here are some samples to inspire you:

Chris aka inkpad

Barbara aka bejoyce
Fran aka Francie G

CC780 Gallery

Please keep in mind that while SU colors are listed for the challenges, these are just color reference points. Use the closest colors you have. We want everyone to be able to play!!

Please put CC780 in your keywords section (and if you have more than one challenge, use a comma to separate them) so we can find your card.

Question A few Questions

Hi Chris! Lovely colors to work with! Gosh I have not been on SCS in ages! So the last few days I have been surfing and looking around. A girl can definitely get lost on here! LOL

So I have a couple of questions, hope you don't mind me asking. Here they are

1. I would love to know if this site for the most part, is for Stampin' Up demonstrators?

2. Is this color challenge open to anyone or do you need to belong to a specific group on here to join?

3. Do you need to use Stampin' Up products only?

4. I have never understood the "keywords" thing on here. Any information to help me better understand would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance!

I am trying to participate more regularly in the daily challenges. I find I have time to create the card but then don't post them. So, for this one I actually did three cards using the same technique- smackin' acetate- but three totally different looks. See what you think.

I am not a SU demonstrator. I often substitute colors of other inks to match the colors listed. I do not always use SU stamps. I believe this site can work for any level of experience. I look forward to seeing your creations.

Thank you so much Lisa for responding to me!!
So anyone is able to take part in challenges and we can use anything we want as far as products/companies?! That's awesome! This will hopefully help me to get creative more and allow myself to make pretty things for myself!
Thank you again!

Hi Joann!

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.

1) I think that there are many more stampers who are NOT demonstrators on here though a long time ago it was primarily demonstrators.
2-3) We love to have ANYone participate with ANY products. Just use the closest colors you have. For any given color challenge you can also use colors that would be considered in Stampin' Up!'s neutral family: navy, browns, grays, tans, merlot(maroon), Mossy Meadow (dark mossy green). (I also understand black, white, cream to be a given though these aren't technically in their neutrals anymore.)

4) Adding "keywords" make it easier for people to find your projects when they do searches and also for us to make sure your project links to the gallery for each challenge. Make sure that you use the key word stated for the challenge and separate it from any other key words with a comma. Other key words might be CAS - for a clean and simple card, OLC - for a one layer card, birthday - for a birthday card and so on. You might see SUO which I think means Stampin' Up! only (or mostly). Anything that you can imagine someone searching for could be a keyword; just make sure each is separated by comma!

I will be looking for you in the gallery ;)!
