CC151: Making yo yo yellow look GOOD!
Yep, you read that right! This week, y'all are going to make yo yo yellow look GOOD! Seriously! This combo was suggested by jacqueline and I have to admit, I was quite skeptical when I read it. But her card was lovely and I think she made it work! So here ya go! GOOD LUCK!
CC151:
Yo Yo Yellow
Going Gray
Basic Gray
My Sample
jacqueline's Sample
CC151 Gallery
Please put CC151 in your keywords section (and if you have more than one challenge use a comma to separate them) so we can find your card! If you need help uploading click here!
As always, I am open to suggestions for future color challenges! Please pm me if you have one. DO NOT SEND ME AN EMAIL!! If you do not include a sample, it is harder for me to use it! I will probably not respond, as I get several, but I save them for future reference!

Here's mine...I cheated a bit, I added a little Only Orange. You can't have a monarch butterfly with no orange, can you?
Just Because Butterfly
And now I have to go take my dogs for a walk because I promised that I would when I started working on this card. The advantage of living in Japan...the challenges usually get posted mid-afternoon here

wowza.. loving the samples so far. unfortunately, I don't have any 'going gray', either
do you suppose substituting basic black for going gray would achieve the same effect?
call me crazy, but I LIKE yo-yo yellow!

Well, here's my card. Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card. I figured the contrast of the bright Yo-Yo Yellow with the Going Grey may be just the ticket. Unfortunately, we don't have Basic Grey available here yet, so I substituted Brocade Blue and used that for the base - hope that's OK???
Sympathy Yellow Flowers
Thanks for the challenge Emily!!!

No basic gray, no yo-yo yellow here in this house. Looks like i'm sitting this one out. Interesting combo, Emily.

OK, hopefully I can post this (been having some troubles!!!).
I had to sub in some Brocade Blue for the Basic Grey - we simply don't have that here in Australia yet. Unfortunately I needed a Sympathy card for a dear family friend who lost her mother in law to cancer last week. This colour combo seemed to have the right balance for just such a card. So, here's mine:
Sympathy Yellow Flowers
Thanks for the challenge Emily.

This will be a challenge to make this one look good! In fact, I just let me DS use most of my yo-yo, along with taken with teal and glorious green(all colors i really can't use very well) for this Social Studies Project. Those three colors actually match the flag from the islands of St. Vincent and the Grenandines, so he is making his poster pop with those three colors to his heart's content!. I will try to see if i can make a card today with the color combo, may have to sub for one of the grays, though.

I would have loved to have tried this challenge (my first one !!) but unfortunately here in the UK we do not have "Going Gray" in our catalogue. I love your samples though. I might try this anyway but use basic black instead but obviously I won't upload it.
