Here is my card for today's challenge in memory of the loved ones lost at VT. This is such a fitting challenge and I hope all these cards will help their spirits.
I think this is a wonderful idea. I live in Roanoke, VA and this has been devistating for all of us. One of the Stampin Up demonstrators I have been to camp with lives in Christiansburg, VA and her husband is a foreign language professor at VT but was out of town last week. What a blessing. They are beside themselves. We all need to keep praying for the recovery for all of these families.
Here is my card for today' challenge. Thank you Emily for giving me the motivation to do what little I can to show support for these families. I combined this challenge with yesterday's Technique challenge and this week's Featured Stamper challenge.
First, let me thank Emily for putting her own color combo aside this week and doing this challenge. It was my first time making a suggestion to one of the hostesses, and I can't think of a better reason to do so.
Second, I have tried to leave individual comments in the galleries for all of you who participated, but if I somehow missed you, please know that I am grateful and the families will be even more so. Not only are my husband and I both Tech alum, but the 2 victims that Emily's original post mentioned are children of personal friends of my husband's. Needless to say, this has hit much too close to home. It has been so wonderful to be able to turn to my SCS sisters for comforting words. I knew I could count on all of you and you have made me truly proud to be an SCS'er!

Still trying to get over the flu here! I tried to make a card this morning, had to come back this afternoon to finish it! It is simple, but I think that simple may sometimes be best for a sympathy card. I used my new Essential Glue pad for this card and it really sparkles in person. Thanks for the challenge Emily!

A first for me!!
This is my first try at a Color Challenge. Let me know what you think.
Here's some sympathy cards for the VT families. I used what I had that was closest to the CC111 colors of
pumpkin pie - I only had one sheet of this left
bravo burgundy - no such luck so I used Cranberry Crisp instead.
optional: always artichoke - Used lots of this one.
I made framed picture windows and swaped the panels.
I pray that the families affected by the VT shootings have peace and comfort in this time of loss. And thanks everyone for the idea to send these lovely card on to them. Great work ladies!!
I think this is a very awesome challenge... There is a family that lives down the street from me that could use your support.... Please read the following....
A little background.. The Clark family lost their son in the VA Tech massacre. He didn't go easy.....
Their son bravely did what no one else dare to do... He saved several lives from being taken brutally, before his life was taken as well... This family is in terrible grief and needs your prayers and support... If you have a moment to send a card, please do so as this family is grieving a travesty in a small town where things like this just don't happen...Please take a few moments to make a card for this family... Thank you so much....
Please send cards to the following address by May 3rd to be forwarded to the family personally....
Clark Family
C/O Keri Brown
1845-A Hill Dr.
Fort Gordon, Ga
30905
Again thank you for taking the time to make a card for this family... Your support is greatly appreciated....
What a great challenge. I havn't participated in a color challenge in a long time, but this was for such a great cause I couldn't resist. Thankyou for giving us this challenge and thankyou for collecting these to give to the families. I am grateful for the oppurtunity to let these families know that they are in our thoughts and prayers.
This is my first upload and I had to substitute as I didn't have the burgundy or artichoke. However, this was such a moving challenge I decided to go for it anyway.
Thanks for a great way to support those who are grieving right now!
Here is my first card to send to Cre8tveLdy, I will make another and send them to her to send on to her Husbands co-workers. I have made a lot of Sympathy cards since I started making cards a little over a year ago, But this one was by far the most difficult. This is a SIMPLE SYMPATHY card
