1 Attachment(s)
WHO: Everyone that needs cards for the Holidays;

WHAT: Complete 10 Christmas/Hanukkah cards each month (January through November) You can set your monthly goal for however many you’ll need. There is no score keeping here!

WHY: To relieve stress! This way you’ll have plenty of cards to send out for the holidays!! We all know how busy December can be, so why not try to get your holiday cards all done by the end of November! Remember, the whole idea behind this challenge is to make your life easier.

WHERE: First upload to your gallery then post a link in the designated thread*. Please use CCC11 in the Title or Keyword so that others can search for your cards! *Please use only the thread that I start for each month or you might be missed.
To attach a link here, when the page you want us to go see is open, go to the address bar and 'copy the whole thing' then go to where you want it seen and paste it in the post box. (instructions step by step with pics in PDF at end of this post)

WHEN: The whole month! There is no 'deadline' for getting your monthly cards done. However...as an incentive, there will be a small monthly prize. At the end of each month, everyone who has completed their cards for that particular month will have their name put into a drawing for a small incentive prize.

HOW: Just post a reply to this thread saying that you want to join and then start creating! Make your cards any way you like - make them all the same or mix them up. Any tools, toys, gadgets, embellishments, etc...you decide- after all, these are YOUR cards.

You can join anytime during the year. . If you need to skip a month or two, that is perfectly fine.

Jingle Belles Rock Awesome Blog for inspiration

Let me be the first to sign up!

It has been a few years since I've participated in this challenge, and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

Thanks for posting!

Chinook 12-04-2010 07:21 PM

2010 was the first time I participated in the challenge and I LOVED it. Sign me up for the 2011 challenge too! I'll make between 5 and 10 cards a month.

iceprincess 12-05-2010 04:21 AM

a year in the making

OK here I go with my first challenge. sign me up. :D

ScrappinCEO 12-05-2010 05:12 AM

I'm in. Maybe this year I won't be left solely responsible for the grandtoddler. LOL She misses grandma but seems happy in Nashville with Mommy. The studio remodel is almost complete. Let the 2011 cards begin!

vikkijo 12-05-2010 05:24 AM

Good morning Bump!

Thank you ladies for signing up!
I actually had a dream that so many people signed up during the night that I got over whelmed and gave up! LOL

This is going to be fun!

ScrappinCEO 12-05-2010 05:29 AM

Vikki Jo, feel free to post it over at the S2S thread. What a great way to decrease our bottom line!

sadiejane929 12-05-2010 05:35 AM

Count me in, I love this challenge!! I tried only doing 5 last year and discovered doing an odd number just did not work so I am trying for 6 a month this year.

susanbri 12-05-2010 06:57 AM

I loved doing the challenge this year so please sign me up for 2011. Good for you, vikkijo, for taking on the organization of it. I'll make between 5 and 10 cards each month.

vikkijo 12-05-2010 07:04 AM

Hey Pamela!

I see you have Operation Write Home in your signature.
I wanted to make a 'plug' for them here too!
Glad to see it!!!!

I like joining swaps that are 5 + 1 too. 6 is so much easier.

vikkijo 12-05-2010 07:06 AM

Good Morning Susan!

Any number of cards is great. It's all about "what you need"

I skipped June, July and August this year (got married)
I still have more then 40 extra's.

SuzyS1104 12-05-2010 07:18 AM

I would like to join in on this one again. I've done it for the last couple of years...and it's nice to be able to open the box of finished cards....ready for addressing! At least one thing is organized around here! LOL

whim6915 12-05-2010 07:23 AM

Sign me up again! I had most of my Operation Write Home cards ready to ship and didn't have all the stress of the previous years. Thanks for starting this challenge up again.

vikkijo 12-05-2010 07:42 AM

Wooo whooo another plug for Operation Write Home!

Happy to have you ladies.... I am feeling out numbered by Sue's! We need a Suzanne now! LOL

Very glad to have everyone signing up! Looking forward to seeing everyone's cards this coming year!

Crafty Math Chick 12-05-2010 08:04 AM

Thanks for hostessing Vikkijo! I love this challenge!! Please sign me up for ten each month.

I will have to complete the summer months early since we will be moving this summer, if you are able to start those threads a little early, I would be most appreciative.

Crafty Math Chick 12-05-2010 08:07 AM

We can start creating NOW for January's cards, right? Or do we have to officially wait until January for our cards to count Vikkijo?

cla616 12-05-2010 08:13 AM

I'm in, I did this in 2009 and it was such a relief, signed up for 2010 but how was I to know that having a second baby was really that much different than having 1!!! Man it's been busy!!!

So guess what I will be doing the next two weeks - yep making cards and getting stressed out :) So I am in for 2011, Now that Maci is getting closer to a year old things should get a little more manageable!

Can't wait to see everyone's creations :)

scootsv 12-05-2010 08:28 AM

Hi Vikkijo, Thank you sooooo much for hostessing this challenge! I love it! It is so nice to have the cards done by the end of November! Count me in for 10 - 6 for me and 4 for a local charity. I wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Rita

Rita, I love your avatar! Is that scanned needlework or stamped image? Just too cute. Hoping to change mine tomorrow. My grandtoddler decorated a wooden Christmas tree to take home then we forgot to pack it so it's still sitting on my kitchen windowsill for a couple weeks :-)

Avoca Sue 12-05-2010 09:31 AM

I've never done this type of challenge before. Can I sign up for 4 per month?

shelia 12-05-2010 10:14 AM

I thoroughly enjoyed doing the challenge this year and want to participate again next year. Please sign me up for 5 each month again. Thanks for hosting. This is a fun and practical challenge!!

mschoener 12-05-2010 10:16 AM

I see a few of my Quacker friends here that have signed up. I did this a few years ago, and it was really good to get those cards done ahead of time. Thought it was time to sign up again. This last year was pretty bad.

ScrappinCEO 12-05-2010 11:06 AM

Hey Maggie, Sue! Glad to see you gals here. Vikki Jo will be in to add you to the list soon, I'm sure. Sue, how many ever you want to pledge is fine. It's all about what works for the individual. Me, I always pledge 10. But since Maggie and I are virtual stamping on Tuesday nights, maybe that will help. It's worth a shot!

vikkijo 12-05-2010 12:32 PM

Oh my I am so thrilled!!!

Okay I got a January Thread Created

I will work on the rest of the year a bit later. I must cover the windows today

it is only 13 degrees above zero today and got plastic on the windows in the living room, and the one dining room window.

I must cover the ones here in my room! I am freezing today!

my window right next to me here is completely frosted over

Oh I have a bottle of glue sitting on the shelf just over my shoulder here in front of the window! IT FROZE!

Back later!

granted this window is the only North facing one we have in the whole house!

susanbri 12-05-2010 12:40 PM

Good grief, Vikki - where do you live? I can't imagine having a bottle of glue freeze indoors.

Thanks for doing the challenge!

Susan

LOL Minnesota! Like I said it was on the shelf in front of the only North facing window I have.

I am going to go try creating the threads for the other months!

lharnish 12-05-2010 02:17 PM

Please add me to the list

lharnish - Leslie

Thanks!

Crafty Math Chick 12-05-2010 04:07 PM

WHOA! That is COLD! I hope you get all of the windows covered SOON Vikkijo!

Thanks for creating all of those threads so early - you ROCK!

pcousins13 12-05-2010 05:11 PM

Please sign me up too!! I will make at least 5 a month. Thanks!

vikkijo 12-05-2010 06:59 PM

WOW! 16 signed up so far! This is amazing!

AmylovesNormaJean 12-06-2010 05:12 AM

I'm back for my THIRD year in a row! Joining the Christmas Card Challenge has been one of the best decisions I've ever made! I actually get my Xmas cards done in time! This year I think I will only commit to 4 cards a month, my circle of family and friends is getting smaller as I age!

vikkijo 12-06-2010 06:48 AM

Good Monday Morning Ladies!

It's already warmer today than our high got all day yesterday! A whole 15* above zero! YAY! LOL

Just and FYI Postage Cost Increase is being discusses.
46 cents
and post cards will become 30 cents
January 2011

mschoener 12-06-2010 08:01 AM

Yikes on the postage! Oh well, I only pay to send cards and some gifts out nowadays since I do all my banking and bill paying online.

I signed up, but didn't set my goal. I'm going to make 5 Christmas cards per month, then I may have time to do some other themed cards.

I know! Especially if you use some of what you have already on hand, before spending money on new stuff
For those who keep track of what you use vs what you buy new.
Go check out Kelly's thread

countrybumpkin 12-06-2010 11:31 AM

I do the challenge, I just forgot to upload and post...I will do better this year!!!
Goal -12 to 20 a month. 10 each month was not enough

Sounds like I need to get to the post office and pick up more 'forever' stamps. Why do they only raise it a penny or two at a time? Why not just hike it up to 50 cents and leave it alone for awhile?

ScrappinCEO 12-06-2010 12:55 PM

If you don't have to have Christmas stamps on your cards, start stocking up on the Forever Stamps now. Then when postage goes up, you'll still be spared a few cents.

LOL Sorry, Pamela. I didn't see your post until after. That's what I do. I designate enough every check for at least 1 book of Forever Stamps. Then I'm good for the year when it comes to bill paying, card mailing, letter writing (yes, I still do that but near as often as I'd like)

quilling junkie 12-06-2010 03:27 PM

They are figuring that 2 cents per stamp will help their budget $2- 3 million dollars in a year!

They also have a new forever stamp out right now.. it's spruce branches, very pretty!

I need to think about this challenge great idea!

tyshero 12-06-2010 05:30 PM

I'd like to play this time around. I love making Christmas cards, and it'll be fun to play all year long. I'll aim for 10 per month.

vikkijo 12-06-2010 05:47 PM

I actually have a book of those Spruce forever stamps.. very seasonal! I didn't realize they were forever stamps though
