Yay for wrapping up the project! I have to ask, did you take the screws out a year and a half ago? That is a long time to keep track of them.

I'm thinking I didn't. Once again, I should have been going to bed an hour ago, yet, here I am. I will learn.

I agree with the Yay for Friday! I hope that is what was said. Maybe it is in my head but I'm so ready for the weekend. This proves to be another busy one for us with activities around here but I'll be happy to sleep in until 7:30 for the next 3 days.

The game was canceled tonight. I made a chicken pasta salad for tomorrow. My dishwasher is dying. I think one was ordered to replace it but I haven't heard back about when to expect delivery. As long as it survives until the new one gets here.

I made a couple of cheesecloth ghost this afternoon. They are still drying, although I shouldn't be surprised since I finished an hour ago.

So table got here and they are totally wrong! I am SO mad!! I have already called the manager (got voice mail), called corporate (got voice mail) and then since I got no responce I stopped payment on the credit card until it was fixed. Stupid store... I would expect this from a cheap store but from a high end place like Ethan Allen this is ubsurd! We ordered it in July and took them this long to get it wrong and then they also over charged us... Whole different story! So mad

On an up note we had some friends over so we got to use the mismatched one. Hopefully someone decides to work on Monday and I can start getting this resolved!

Are the materials expensive and where did you buy cheese cloth? Am I crazy to try and do them with my class?

I think it would be crazy to do it with your class but they would think it was cool. It isn't hard but it is MESSY. I think for them to make a small ghost, it would take them an hour or so. As far as cost, I think it is cheap but when you consider doing for a class, it gets spendy. A pkg. of cheesecloth is just under $5 (Walmart sells it). You could get 3 small ghosts (toilet paper roll size) from one pkg. Add in wax paper, foil, wire for the arms, Stiffy (fabric stiffener) & duct tape. 1 bottle of Stiffy would get you 5-6 ghosts. Although, you could use glue instead of the Stiffy and that would cut the cost some.

I used a toilet paper roll and a paper towel roll for mine. The wire for the arms is poked through the cardboard close to the top and I secured it with duct tape to be sure it didn't move while I was working on it. I wore gloves to avoid the mess on my hands.

I haven't taken a picture of them dry with the tube removed but here is a foundation picture and one layer of the cheesecloth on it.

I went looking online and this one is cute. I kind of like the neatness of it because it is one piece. Yet, I like the way I did it with strips because it is a frayed, worn look

Today has been an expensive day.

I went to get the oil changed and then they mentioned the tires. Yep, they were due for a rotation. Had the battery checked and sure enough I needed a new battery.

Stopped at the pet store to pick up various things for all the animals. Still had to go to another pet store later today for a new "pool" for the turtle.

Went to a store that has oodles of costume jewelry. The 3 girls all picked out some things but we were there specifically for a $15 tiara. Pretty cheap for as nice as it looks.

Went to Michael's. Nuf said. I ran into the person I signed up under 10 years ago. She told me had to drop when the hurricane came through. I think that was 2004, which means, she hasn't been my upline for 7 years. Who knew? She did say she wasn't very good at helping me along. That is the truth. She did re-join but I don't know when and she doesn't get me back, so I have no clue who my upline is now.

We did a little b-day shopping for my son but ended up with nothing. The girls wanted to get him new slides but the styles were awful. Will have to go to another store and hope for better.

I've never had to report for jury duty. Bummers on a day of sitting around though.

I had to wake all 3 girls today. I think they've been staying up too late. I could hear the twins chatting when I went to bed and that was around 11.

Despite a persoanl bias that if there is enough eveidence to take you to trial you have to be guilty I do believe people have the right to a fair trial. However I can believe it was legal to make me miss a day of work and waste a day of my life and my poor kids education! I would have benen in contempt had I not gone and I had NO desire to be there. There has to be a better way to get a jury. Cause had I been picked they could force me to sit there but no mater how hard I tried I would have been lala land and not caught half the stuff! That would have been 4 days of hell! Even worse for the poor people that don't get paid when they are forced to miss work! Rant over.

There's the rub, I've only had a few friends/associates say they didn't mind doing it. Most people aren't wanting to sacrifice their day/time to do it. More often than not, it is inconvenient. I think it is annoying to most because you don't have a decision on any part of it, they just tell you when to show up. I know I get annoyed when someone tells me I have to be somewhere and do something because my schedule wasn't taken into account. On the other hand, it would be a headache for the courts if they opened it up and sent out notices saying you have to report for jury duty in October, call and schedule a day or one will be selected for you.

I realized a made a mistake. I knew the in colors were 2 years. Or at least I thought I knew. When they came out with the new colors this year, I cleaned out my CS and gave it all to a girl scout troop. Of course, it turns out they are still good until next July. At least I have some 12x12 sheets, but for as much as I've been stamping lately, it probably won't matter.

Off to clean the bunny cage. Today is trash day and I would rather it be on the truck than stinking up my garage waiting for the next trash day.

Took a quick trip to Ft. Lauderdale. My mom flew in yesterday to leave on a cruise today. We went down, had dinner, hung around the pool and took in a museum today before dropping her off to board the ship. A pretty good sized ship too. I think she said there would be 5,400 passengers. They are headed for Jamaica. She is scheduled to swim with dolphins and ride a horse, which apparently goes in the water. She will have a relaxing time.

My aunt and some of her friends are also going on this cruise. My aunt was torn on whether to go or not. Another aunt, her sister, whom she is very close to has been stage 4 breast cancer for almost 2 years. Crazy thing is, she never had a lump or anything, just the type of cancer it is like breast cancer so that is what they've dubbed it. Any way, they introduced her to hospice Thursday. The hospital bed was delivered yesterday. Her daughter had called last night to say she couldn't get up yesterday. My aunt called her husband and found that she is weak but able to get up. She is still going on the cruise, just cutting her extra stay in FL shorter by a day or two. I would think she still has a month or two, but who really knows.

We got home early enough for B to go to the movie with his friends. The girls and I decided to see the Lion King in 3D tonight. I wasn't surprised that the twins didn't remember the movie, but I was surprised that R didn't remember it. The boys wanted to eat after so while they did their thing, the girls and I went to the book store and then stopped at Cold Stone Creamery for a treat. Pretty nice weekend.

I'm off to bed. I'm so tired and I won't be surprised if I have trouble getting up in the morning.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

I think it's wonderful that your aunt is still making the crusie and making the most of things! I'm jealous you went to Cold Stone it's my favorite. We had a nice laid back weekend. My lesson plans were done, I did some grading, tool a nap and sighted in the boy's spare rifle for hunting at the range. We're on way to swap meet probably catch some Nascar and head home
