Well, that's bizarre. My last post before I had to take a nap never made it. It's not still on the screen and it didn't hit the page. Bizarro!

I thank Jen for introducing me. I still can't figure out WHY she did... I remember thinking, "You know nothing about me. I could be a drama queen. Why are you risking this!!!"

but I'm glad she did.

Well, I just feel rude. "Hi, answer a question for me, will ya???" Oh, going to bed, not gonna bother sticking around to hear.

Off to look up colored vellum.

Vellum 10 pcs Assorted Colors 8 1/2x11 Paper Accents | eBay
You can just sponge ink onto regular plain vellum and colour it that way. That's usually what I do.

Anyone know of kids in Spelling Bees? Dd1 is signed up for one next Saturday. They sent out a list of words to study, but of course there will also be words not on the list. How do you study for words that are not on the list?

maybe they are "stargazers" because that is who they are most beautiful to (scent wise too, if you LIKE it) because they bloom more at night when the stars are out to gaze upon

very pretty!

you just have to be a good speller, be able to figure out how it might be spelled, by knowing the word(s) it comes from - I guess

I was never good at spelling bee once it got to the oral stage. I forget what I already said

We were practicing tonight, the oral part. Then she'd have a piece of paper to write it out but would say some letters differently than what she wrote so she doesn't like having the paper in front of her...likes to "air spell" the word.

I would think ink would rub off vellum too..... unless it's stazon, which might not spread too well.... (though I have inked stazon onto those Heidi Swapp ghost letters - that worked awesome!)

I wondered too if they let off the scent at night to keep certain night animals from eating them. Beautiful but are my eyes ever itchy right now. Thought we got all the stamens off but forgot to check the newly opened buds.

She's in a higher reading level so I'm sure this helps with the spelling and knowing more words. Should be an interesting day on Saturday...I get to sit there and listen for 3 hours!

I did ok in highschool with English but that was mostly reading comprehension type things... and I could look words up ( how to spell them ) lol... so, it was the grade school spelling that got me. there are still words I know I have them correct and I stare at them going are you sure? lol

its harder at work to see the mistakes if I post something from work trying to comment on things during the day. no time to waste on that stuff.

I had people tell me that about all my VSN stuff all weekend they were not allowed to see them... not sure why...

but, they were orginally uploaded to a hostess gallery then mods moved them when challenges went live.

I dont think her card is a dirty dozen one? but, maybe it was one of those fan club things where you had to be a member to do dirty dozen challenges? not sure will go look.

Oh shoot I didnt even notice that it was... she did it for dare to get dirty 07... sorry. it looks a lot like mine but, it has a different ha flower in blue/purple with green and the sentiments fewer words but a vertical friendship one done in gold heat embossed powder. and then there is gold cord tied in a bow on the side where the fold is. ( skinny stringy stuff)

eta but she did her cracked glass with embossing powder and tried to twist and turn the paper a lot so it ended up a little lumpy and not so cracked ( just like mine ) funny after the fact.

Love those technical terms...sounds like me the other day trying to explain something.

If yours is not so cracked and more lumpy, well good thing you were trying to be as exact as you can on the card.

Sigh... once in a while I feel so envious of the idea of not driving 90 miles one way just to buy anything from a place like Michael's or Joann's.

well... our J's is a fabric store here with one isle of paper crafting ( which they may get new things once a year ) and the one I shop in is 80 miles away...

the M's here is one of their expiremental ones. so smaller then the others, and same deal if you read someone bought something cool at M's they wont have it in ours, but it may be in the one 75 miles away...

my fav store in Medford is craft warehouse though. its ( next door to their joann's) and carries more fun stuff... but charges more for the things m's or j's would carry... and no coupons very often maybe 5 times a year?
