Heart May 2020 Mission

2020 Cards For A Cause -
MAY MISSION -
STAMP FROM THE HEART!

ORGANIZATION BEING FEATURED:

Forgotten children worldwide Protect Vulnerable Children - Forgotten Children Worldwide, Administrator: Jeff Patterson...........

DESCRIPTION:

Cards needed for children overseas through their clothing donation boxes and represented children. I have been asked to coordinate card making events at the foundation and thought what a wonderful opportunity to have card makers donate their cards as well! They serve approx. 80,000 kids overseas through clothing donation boxes and the administrator Jeff Patterson wants to send cards in these boxes to give kids a smile, hope and encouragement.
You can donate directly to them here...

Forgotten Children Worldwide,
Attn: Jeff Patterson
650 N Main Street
Bluffton, IN 46714...........

TYPE OF CARDS REQUESTED:

Kids cards from ages 0-21 and we are making celebrate you, encouragement, thinking of you, praying for you and graduation type cards!...........

SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS:

We can't have cards that reference family, father, son, mom, brother etc...as many of these kids do not have families. Also prefer cards that do not reference food, cake, ice cream, gifts, presents, money, or political...etc...........

GUIDELINES:

Please keep in mind, we are representing SCS by sending our cards each month. Recycling is always good, but only use products on your cards that you would like to receive on cards. Also, our card donations are not tax deductible and it is not required. Please do not ask for a receipt. There have been groups that will send thank you's but the "referred by" person keeps us informed and passes on the thank you's. Most of these organizations are volunteers and spend countless hours helping others, let's help make their jobs easier and bless them in helping others............

MAILING ADDRESS:
Please mail cards to...
Angie Honegger --
2385 N. Shady Lane --
Bluffton, IN 46714

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

For a little added inspiration you can join us in playing along with the OPTIONALchallenge each month. This is only optional and you do not have to play along to send your cards to the featured cause for the month. We always take cards no matter if you play along in the challenge or not. This months challenge is to be inspired by the color/mood board, see first post below. Be sure to use the keyword C4AC so that we can check out your card and comment! To see this gallery C4AC click here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Another exciting announcement, we now have a badge for you to proudly display on your blog; here is the link.
Sticky:Cards For A Cause Blog Badge
Also, we have a section now for on going Cards For A Cause, these are organizations that take cards all year. If after your monthly generous giving you have others, go here..thank you so much for all you do!

Fellow SCSer's, thank you for spreading your SCS love! Once you have mailed them come back to us here

Just came up with a design for a card for boys that says "You make the world a better place". I'll post a pic when I've got them ready. I went to their website and what a wonderful organization it is.

Donna, I am also looking forward to seeing your design! Kids cards in general are typically challenging for me - most of my supplies aren't child themed, and I have little experience with making kids cards. Challenge accepted! We just moved and are still unpacking, but I'm hoping to make my craft room functional enough in time to participate in this month's cause.

I'm struggling a bit because most of the images I woud normally use for kids, would not be acceptabe here (ice cream, cupcakes, trucks for boys, sparkly jewlrey for girls, family related things, etc). So I went with fantasy images, flowers and animals. Do you think these are OK?

I don't think you can go wrong with animals. Making most of cards with animal theme, cause what kid doesn't love animals.

Louise, I think your cards are wonderful! And you made such a great variety! I've only got one design so far. I've made 10 and will get in the mail. I'll go ahead and send envelopes too just in case.

Default Frog Cards

I have two girls so I've never made boy cards, but it was a fun challenge.

Oh, and Becca, best wishes with unpacking!

Louise, I loooove your cards! And Donna, yours are cute, too! Frogs always make me smile for some reason. What a great cause. Off to tell Mom (Happy In Hawaii). I'm sure she'll have a bunch to send.

Hello sorry for just getting back with this! You can send the cards to Angie Honegger(me). If anyone has sent any to Jeff that is fine, I'll let him know. We are just starting to open up some businesses here in Indiana and I haven't checked yet if they are back yet. Thank you all so much!! And envelopes are accepted but not necessary if you don't have them! We use envelopes for the program in Africa for sure so he having some always helps but again it's not necessary! Feel free to message me with any other questions!

Hi, sending ten cards out. It will be a few days until I get to the post office due to my work schedule, but they'll definitely be out before the end of the month. I thought bright colors would be fun for the kids. Hope everyone is keeping safe!

I had to wait until the main rooms were set up before I could justify unpacking and setting up my craft room, but I'm making good progress and should be scrapping again by next weekend. I have missed touching paper!
