Sketch Challenge 24
2 Attachment(s)
*Sorry* I am so sorry for being so late with this, I had to take dh to the ER last night sort of unexpectely LOL and I didn't get home until late and forgot all about this until just now! I am very sorry to all of you who have waited so patiently today for it!

REMINDER: Please put SC24 in the keyword section of your upload so that everyone can check back to find your beautiful work!

Master Thread

The second I saw today's inspiration card I knew it HAD to be used for a sketch challenge! Prettylikesun created this week's inspiration card and I loved her use of shading around the blocks, the cut out flowers and the fabulous colors as well as the layout.

**Sketch Challenge 23 winner is......
I used a computer program my dh has that has a random number generator instead of cutting and numbering 99 little slips LOL and the random number it gave me was .........10 - Rebecca Wheeler!!!!! Congrats to Rebecca! I will be sending her some goodies in the next couple of days. There will be more contests in the future and I have a few different ones planned so be on the lookout for the next Sketch Challenge bonus fun contest coming to a sketch challenge in the near future!!!!!

I hope your DH is OK. I was worried that something was wrong.

Thanks for the great sketch.

Jami 06-08-2005 05:07 PM

Oh Andrea - I hope all is well with your hubby now. Being up all night in the E.R. is awful!! Done it a few times. Was really getting concerned for you!

Thanks so much for posting the new challenge despite what you've been through in the last 24 hours!

mocjen 06-08-2005 05:10 PM

thoughts and prayers for your DH...Holy Cow...I am so excited...I never win anything...hope you don't mind sending stuff to Canada...these challenges are the best...now I am really hooked. Won't be able to play till next week as we have a huge rhubarb festival here, and my ds and our 3 daughters are making 250 pies on friday...we have already made 400 jars of jam and rhubarb salsa..so if anyone is near Shedden Ont..half way between Windsor and Toronto...stop by..

Andrea...here is my email...and thanks so much for all you do...Rebecca

sleepyinseattle 06-08-2005 05:50 PM

Hi Andrea,

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your DH. Hope all is well now.

AndreaSophie 06-08-2005 06:05 PM

Thanks for the concern ladies! All is well now. About 30 minutes after I posted last night we went to watch Ocean's 12 and the dvd player wouldn't work so h started fiddling around and electrocuted himself!!! Not exactly sure what happened as he can't remember now what he was doing at the time lol but he kinda went limp and passed out. He came to but said he felt funny and couldn't remember what had just happened so I took him over to ER. They watched him for a little bit and they said he was fine and that he didn't BBQ his insides like I thought he did LOL. OUr house has some really old wiring and I think that had something to do with it. Anyway, thanks again for the concern, I appreciate all of the positive thoughts!!!

mamakimberly 06-08-2005 06:06 PM

Oh my gosh Andrea!!!! How SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WordTrix 06-08-2005 06:11 PM

Congrats to Rebecca for winning the door prize from last week's sketch! Will have to work something up for the new one tomorrow.

e waterous 06-08-2005 06:13 PM

Great inspiration card...
and glad hubby is OK. Reminds me of the time I tried to "unlock" the electric outlet with a bobby pin "key" - whoo hoo that was exciting (I was three years old at the time!!)

luvmystamps3 06-08-2005 06:46 PM

Oh, I hope DH is ok, I new something must be up as I just started these challenges within the past month and I know you are so on the ball. Again hope DH is doing well, :)

kayinrd 06-08-2005 06:48 PM

Granny Hawkins 06-08-2005 06:58 PM

Glad to hear you DH wasn't hurt bad. Will work on this tomorrow because I will only have the 2 grandkids so I can play while they play. Plus my eyes are crossed form trying to do sterigraph.

raduse 06-08-2005 06:59 PM

Congrats to Rebecca!!! Andrea, glad to hear your DH is doing better.

showmestamper 06-08-2005 07:15 PM

Here's mine...just uploaded so still pending.

dpierstamper 06-08-2005 07:17 PM

Congratulations Rebecca! Andrea, your ER visit had good results and am glad your DH is fine. I did a card and submitted it twice, but it keeps getting removed, can't explain that one, but I'll try again.

Farmwife 06-08-2005 07:18 PM

I'm glad your husband is doing better. What he did, sounds like something my hubby would do! LOL Glad all is ok.

Here is my design, enjoy!

Michelerey 06-08-2005 08:06 PM

Oh, my, Andrea. You must have been scared half to death by your husband's experience. I'm glad he is okay.

Thanks for posting the sketch despite all you've been through. I'll hopefully get time to play tomorrow. Got to start getting ready to go on vacation though!

Take care and tell your hubby to take care too!

jacksonbelle 06-08-2005 08:12 PM

GEEZE Andrea! Glad to hear he's fine! How scary! Here is my card. It's pending.

ADK 06-08-2005 08:37 PM

I'm so glad things are ok. Very Scary!!!!

Can't wait to work with this sketch!!

mocjen 06-08-2005 09:03 PM

Andrea! That is so scary! I am glad he is ok, poor guy!

Rebecca, congrats on your win! The festival sounds so fun!

Here are my 3 tries for this week. I just love these darn sketch challenges! They are so fun! They really make you get creative! I combined the color challenge with one.

JKinAK 06-08-2005 09:05 PM

Oh, I know how much "fun" those late night trips to the ER can be. Have done it a few times with our little guys.
Thanks for the sketch! Right away my creative gears were turning and I finally have a good sketch for my new Classic Convertibles set! Father's Day is just around the corner!
I'll be back sometime in the morning with my creation... or two!

Jami 06-08-2005 09:55 PM

I got one done tonight - combined with the Color Combo Challenge.

(pending 11 pm pacific)

Darttella 06-09-2005 03:33 AM

Glad to hear your DH is okay! Kinda scary! My DH is fiddling with electronics all the time and I always worry about him! We have an old house too and he swears he knows what he's doing... but you know men.... Ugh!

The sketch this week is awesome! I hope I can find some time to play today!

kristransue 06-09-2005 04:53 AM

Um. . . . I started doing the sketch and then I realized I had strayed a bit, so here it is anyways . . . .

trudence 06-09-2005 05:57 AM

I really like this sketch, I will have to do some more, but here is what I have for now.

Pinky 06-09-2005 06:36 AM

This is my first attempt at the challenge and I had not looked at anybody else's stuff and low and behold I have seen several cards using this same set. I am sorry, I should have looked in the gallery first. At least I put a different twist on it and the arrangement. So sorry, I will try to apologize individually...

I think it is still pending:

Fun challenge, gotta do more after I run my errands if I can find the right set to use. Thanks Andrea for a great challenge...:)

Darttella 06-09-2005 07:15 AM

I got mine done as quick as I could! Now I have to run off to pick up kid from school... then off to the pool we go! I gotta say... I really like this sketch and will prolly do more when I get a bit more time!

Julia S 06-09-2005 08:27 AM

I'm back...but just with simple cards as baby is keeping me busy and I'm still trying to recover. :) Hope you don't get tired of baby thank yous as I have a lot of people to thank. This is an awesome sketch challenge this week. Love it!

For those of you that do the Ways to Use It challenge...I'll get around to posting that later on this afternoon.

Happy stamping,

tashers 06-09-2005 08:46 AM

Here's my take on this challenge. I really like this sketch.

nancy littrell 06-09-2005 08:47 AM

How Scary!
How scary for you. Your husband was passed out so missed most of the excitement. I bet your wiring is now on the "to do" list. Sure glad it all turned out fine for both of you. I have not tried a sketch challenge yet, but I don't think I can pass this one up. Will try this weekend. Thanks for all your hard work. All you SCS girls are just awesome! Another fan, Nancy

JKinAK 06-09-2005 09:13 AM

Here are my two cards. I wanted to get them done and uploaded earlier but life just gets in the way!
Both cards are pretty similar, I just changed the embelishments a bit. On card b I used ribbon to cover up some shadowing from the Father's Day stamp. I love ribbon!!
Hope to make more this week!

ChristyStamps 06-09-2005 09:40 AM

Here is my attempt! This is a challenging sketch for me. I will have to try some more this week. Thanks for "stretching" me!

Wow, it makes my day that you picked one of my cards for your sketch challenge! Thank you so much! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

bjacobs150 06-09-2005 10:12 AM

Here are my 2 for this week:

rosowskimom 06-09-2005 10:15 AM

I finally figured out...
how to use poly-shrinky dink stuff!!! I love this sketch and had tons of fun with it. I was feeling brave and got out the shrinky-dink to create the corner charms on the sentiment tag. I also stepped out of my box and used Bashful Blue, Sahara Sand & Chocolate Chip to create a Shabby Chic look. Enjoy!

emarj 06-09-2005 10:19 AM

I finally did a challenge! Despite all of my good intentions, week after week has been getting away from me without doing a sketch challenge and the next thing I know it's Wed. again and time for a new one. I think I need to do more of these. Now I have tons of ideas running through my head. Thanks Andrea!
