Default Las Vegas Tragedy: Victims and First Responders

We are all hurting badly since the horrible events in Las Vegas. Many of you have expressed a desire to help.

After the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre, I put out the call for handmade cards for the families of the victims. At that time, our amazing community of card makers came out in droves, and filled my mailbox with nearly a thousand cards, written with messages of comfort and love (see picture, below)

I would like to organize a similar card drive for the families of victims of the Las Vegas massacre. The act of creating and writing in cards may be healing for us... it will certainly be a kind and loving gesture for the families who are hurting so badly right now. I will be happy to collect, package, and deliver these cards, likely to a central distribution center who will be able to get them to the families.

Consider making cards in your card groups and classes, church groups, and/or special events. Dig into your stashes. Keep your cards simple. The messages are more important than the images.

There are currently 59 victims 😥 Cards should be written in, but not put in envelopes nor addressed to any specific victim.

Thank you in advance for your efforts. Letís let these families know they are not alone in their sorrow!!!
