9 year survivor!!
I just have to announce somewhere that I just made it past my 9 year anniversary of finishing all of my chemo and radiation! I'm actually very proud of myself. I have a LOT of anxiety about it coming back and usually think about it a lot but this year the day came and went without me dwelling on it. So each year I make it through means less chances of it coming back! Thanks for listening and celebrating with me! :)

WOW!! Great for you.
Go do something fun to celebrate!

That is absolutely fabulous news! I can identify with you, I am a 7 year survivor myself. This was my first year not worrying when I went for my mammogram. My kiddos are 14 and 12 - obviously they were quite young with I was diagnosed. Congratulations and enjoy your little ones!

kimmery 07-28-2005 10:31 AM

Big congratulations!!!! You are awesome! My mom is a 35 year survivor and still kicking! God bless you!

joystamp4 07-28-2005 10:48 AM

CONGRATULATIONS - it is something to celebrate! I just passed the five year mark and try not to think in terms of it returning.

Awesome!!!! My son is a 21 year survivor of cancer diagnosed when he was almost 6 years old. He just turned 27. Even though I haven't had cancer I do know how it is to pass each yearly mark.

I'm a 2-time cancer survivor, so I know how you are feeling. Congratulations. I'm glad you didn't think about it so much this year. I guess it's always in the back of my mind, but I've just gone and gotten on with life and try not to think about it. Just enjoying each day and being thankful. :)

Woohoo!! That is absolutely wonderful! I'm coming up on 17 years myself. It still does cross my mind, but not as much as it did back then. The further away you get the less you think about it. Thanks for sharing your good news!
