Default Baby #11

I just wanted to share that my 40 year old sister is in pre-labor for #11. She is having a boy. there are already 3 boys and the rest are girls. they are all adorable. In fact one of the boys told her a couple of weeks ago she couldn't quit having babies yet because 11 is an odd #. Anyway, just wanted to share. Praying everything goes smooth. (she has her babies at home)

Wears me out just thinking about it! They are involved in dance and/or sports plus she home schools. They are about the best well behaved kids I know. they also help around the house. They do all of the house work. Of course it didn't use to be that way. The older ones help. They have a system that works. Divy up the chores and it doesn't take very long. They are amazing to watch interact with each other. They are great.

Sounds just like my Brother and his wife. They have 7. 6 boys and the newest one was a little girl. They had her back in Nov. They range from 15 down to 8 months. She has had the last 3 at home. She also home schools all of them and they are all very active, helpful and well behaved. Good thoughts going out to her. Please let us know when your new nephew arrives!

Portage is smack dab south of Kalamazoo which is about 45 minutes south of Grand Rapids. We are about 2-1/2 hours from Detroit.

They are all single births. Amy is the oldest and is 19 and Jessie is the youngest and he is 3. Well, the youngest until now. I will let you know when he arrives. They still don't know what they will name him yet.

Your sister and my aunty should get together. My aunty has 12 kids ranging in age from 1-19 (I think.) She doesn't like odd numbers so when she had #11 she knew she would have one more. I don't know if she's "done" yet.

Congrats to her! I have a cousin who has nine. She also homeschools & they are the best kids ever. Going out in public is not a problem. Hey, I've been to Wal-mart & seen Mom's with just one kid having her hands full! Truely amazing!

He has not arrived yet. Labor is being lazy. I have a feeling when he decides to come it will be quick. She is just feeling crampy and then every once in a while a contraction.
Still no name. She says at this point they need to see his face and then they'll know.
I just have to mention family reunions. Yes, they re a blast. we actually all live right here except my brother and his family and they are only 35 minutes away. For Christmas we all fit at my parents condo to celebrate for the day. We are everywhere, but we fit.

I think that's fabulous and I am praying for a healthy delivery and a quick recovery for your sister. I bet her older children will be a tremendous help with this new baby.

I had my first 3 in just under 4 years and a friend of mine with 6 (and she fosters infants!) told me that that was the hardest stage. As the older ones get older, they really can pitch in and it benefits everyone. I am now finished at 4 but I delight in large families that work well. Blessings on your sister!

Congrats on the homebirth( to-be) !!!
My one and only ( so far!) was 17 days 'late' and I was fightin' Docs off me left right and center ! (I was under the care of a *Fantastic* Midwife, but the laws she has to follow included sending me to consult with an obgyn. What a laugh that was!)
I imagine (hope) it is easier after a couple ( or in her case, 11) to stand up for yourself ( or as we say here, in Alberta, *squat* for your rights !) to birth your own way, not on some crazy, statisically "correct", basically made-up and forcefully imposed timetable!
Even a Doc would have to admit, she probably knows what is right for her, by now!
I wish her many blessings and joys.
And lots of help!
and Happy New Baby to you, too, Auntie !

Here I thought today I would be reporting a name, weight, and length. That little stinker is still holding out! Things are happening but labor hasn't fully "kicked" in. She is starting to get anxious to meet this little boy. We just got done talking and she was mentioning how each one is just a special little gift. She was couped up all yesterday thinking something major was going to happen and now she just feels a need to get out. So she will be stopping by to have some change of pace. She only lives 10 minutes from me so can get home if she needs to. I will keep you all posted.

I was reading back through the posts. You are all so wonderful for the congrats and well wishes and prayers. I just had to chuckle at this one. Diane WISHES they would just slide out. Nope, each one is labor and work to get. And they are always late. Hopefully this one won't hold out too much longer. She is only a little thing and her babies are on average 9 pounds.

Default Just trying to keep you posted

Well. My sister did not come over. She is starting more signs of labor. She is dilating and has lots of cramping. Pray for her. Her fear is that the contractions won't get hard enough to get him out. If that happens she will have to go to the hospital. It's not that it's bad to have to do that. She is just more comfortable having them at home. She gets nervous and irritable in the hospital. Hopefully I will have baby news soon. I thought it would have been a couple days ago.

No. Babies always seem to have their own shcedule. Even before they arrive. This labor is very lazy. Things are still happening, but I thought every day since Tuesday that he would arrive that day. She is making progress and I don't think the baby will hold out much longer, but I also thought that Tuesday. Will let you all know as soon as he is here.
