I am so glad to see this list here. I bought a set 2 weeks ago and I haven't received it yet! She seems to be a busy person with young kids like me, so I am waiting patiently! Allthough the mail man left a card saying I owe 21 cents for postage on a letter, telling me to go to the PO to pay and pick up. GGGRRRRrr I hate it when they do that on Saturdays! Now I have to wait til monday!

I've had great selling and buying experiences on here. Usually when I receive something I have purchased, I try to PM the seller to let them know I received it, and if they still have things for sale, I will post in their thread about the great transaction that I had. I know as a buyer that I appreciate those comments.

I just want to thank Auntdonnastamps for her honesty. I am a senior. I bought 2 things. Each girls name was Donna. I mailed 1 Donna both payments. I would not have notice this until I didn`t receive my things from other Donna. She contacted me and put the money back into my account. Thank you Donna. Most of the people on this site are honest.

Shangsga I think is how it's spelled was very prompt with the shipping and had excellent communication with me.

Ann Lohmeyer was EXTREMELY quick with the shipping! tbyrds offered excellent communication and solved a little problem that came up very efficiently, and ellyp was very quick with the shipping and very nice to talk to.
harborcricut was very understanding and patient throughout the transaction and was properly concerned for the goods she was sending, offering me a better shipping option that would keep the products safer during transit.

I wanted to add Micbell to this list! Despite being in the heart of this flooding in Iowa, she managed to get a stamp set out to me super quick! I was prepared to wait knowing how bad things are where she lives, but she is amazing!

Shout out to Micbell!

Thumbs up My experience with paulssandy

I had posted an ISO and she had what I was looking for. She offered me both sets for shipping costs only. I thought this was VERY generous and since I was using paypal I put in a few extra cents to try to help cover whatever costs paypal would use up. So my stamps arrived today and Sandy also included a beautiful hand stamped card witha personalized note. She also included lots of extra emblishments as a way of saying thank you for the the extra few cents. I never expected that at all. What a true gem Sandy is!

I'd like to add "kniska" to the great sellers role call! I received my purchases from her today and she had taken extra care to pack the items in bubble wrap so they wouldn't get damaged on their long journey to Nova Scotia, Canada! She was very gracious about shipping to Canada without adding a big "handling fee" and her shipping rates were very reasonable!

Default stamp set missing

I sold a stamp set "cute" critters to addcoffee.
I Sent them right away. After I posted I realized I sent simple somethin.. So I immediately sent the right set.
I have email her for the last 5 weeks asking to return the first set. I even sent the postage. But she has kept the stampset and postage.
She will not answer any reponses I have sent her.
And of course ebay is no help. So just beware if she buys from you.

OH my goodness! That is AWFUL. I cannot imagine anyone doing this, especially not a stamper! And especially not someone on splitcoast. I'm hoping there is a majorly good reason for this! Thanks for alerting everyone.

I have a question! I have 4 people who have said that they wanted to buy items from me and I have not received the money yet. I have not mailed any of these things out yet! (thank goodness!!) But I am wondering how long should I wait before re-listing them for sale??? They first committed to "buy" these things on June 1, 2008. I notified them on June 15th - they all apologized and said they "forgot" and would put payment in the mail that day. Today is the 24th and still no money!! When and if I receive their payments - I will be waiting for 7-10 days before I mail just to make sure their checks clear before I mail their goods. I have bought, sold and traded many times on SCS and I have never had such a time in completing transactions. Your input is appreciated. Thanks!

If you committ to buy something, you should buy it! It's that simple. I think a week for payment is reasonable. Then a week to get the stamps, give or take. In your case Arlene, someone else could have purchased those stamps several times over. I would just email them that you haven't received payment and you are going to relist them.

By the way, Arlene_C should be on the reliable list of sellers!

Arlene, I think 2 full weeks (business days) is sufficient to wait for payment. If we had to pay our bills, they would not wait for us before saying "late" or tacking on late fees, kwim? I think as long as the seller and buyer are in open communication and you know it's on the way, waiting a bit more could be extended but under certain circumstances. But to not hear from the buyer and you are in limbo, that's not right to the seller. Times are tough, many sellers clearly state "need to sell" - for you to wait is really unfair. Gentle reminders that payment is due is fine - sometimes people honestly do forget, but you can also give them a date monies are due ~ one thing sellers can do is if monies arrives after the the "due date" is return it and relist the items. I don't think anyone would fault you for it. On the flip side, as a seller, the most I've waited is over a month. My dh always says I'm too nice

Talking Purchase was PERFECT!

Hi All,

I am fairly new to SCS (lurked for months before I actually joined) and was very very leery about trying to purchase a few sets that I wanted on here. But last week I took the plunge and contacted two sellers who had sets that I wanted.

Both sellers were very communicative and helpful. I am still waiting on the first set to arrive (I'm sure it will be here any day) - but the 2nd purchase I made was so quick it was unbelievable! She was really great and the set arrived in great condition.

Her name on SCS is SLEEPYDI and I totally recommend her!

Stamps arrived fast, in great condition, and she kept me informed.

Thanks for starting this list-

Me personally, I'd wait 10 full business days before contacting the seller. I know there are a couple of floods and other things going on in different parts of the country, AND some of the sellers here ship from Canada - have you waited a long time? Most of the sets I've bought have not taken more than 2 weeks, almost all less than that. Paypal is instant, they should ship pretty quickly after receiving it. I have had big problems on ebay with sellers getting instant payments but still taking up to 2 weeks BEFORE shipping. I haven't had that happen here - yet ::: knocking on wood! :::

Default Do we need another thread?

I think the purpose of this thread was to give credit to the wonderful transactions we have all had and the people who are responsible for that great experience.

What I'm starting to see now is questions about current trades or purchases that are not going well. Do we need to set up a thread for questions from sellers and buyers for that purpose?

Just a thought...............

I think it is a good idea to have a separate thread to post Q & A's about current trades and purchases, or to 'air' grievances. Yes, you are right in that I started this thread to list/give credit to sellers who have come through; and to share experiences folks have had with the GOOD transactions they've had. Not to discredit those who are having a difficult time with their transactions, but I also think it's a good idea to keep the questions / negative comments on another thread. (Please?..........) Otherwise, this thread will start going downhill, and we may end up going down a tangent of page upon page upon page of Q & A's or negative / complaint posts (and these things tend to feed off each other). I wouldn't want this thread to get pulled because of the potential of people attacking one another on this message board.

Since I was one person who answered their questions, I am wondering if this is for me - if so, I apologize. I didnt' mean to post anything out of turn or post where I wasn't supposed to. I was only trying to help out someone who sounded confused ~ as a newbie myself, the one valuable thing I've learned here is to ask and have answered questions! Sorry ...........
