The instructions are long but it's not too hard to set up there are just a couple of different steps
So here are the instructions:
Once you signed up for Google Analytics
1. Go to the Analytics Settings Page (the button should be in the top left hand corner) - it's also usually the first place that loads once you've signed in.
2. Under the box where your blog is listed you should see "Filter Manager" on the right hand side. Click on that.
3. You should have nothing written in the box called "Existing Filters" (unless you've added a filter before!). Click on "+Add Filter" which is on the top right of that box.
4. The next screen should be called "Create a Filter". Then in the box "Filter Name" you can choose a title for your filter - I chose "Heather" since it's my IP that I want to block out. Then on the next box called "Filter Type" press the drop-down button beside it and select "Exclude all traffic from an IP address"
5. You need to know your IP address. If you don't (like me) follow these instructions for a PC (sorry don't know Mac). Click on your Start button (bottom left) then click Run. In the "Run" box that comes up type in "cmd" (no brackets) and hit okay. A black box should come up: type in "ipconfig" (no brackets) and hit enter. Data should appear including your IP address which will look something like: 63.212.171.1
6. So now this needs to be translated into regular something or other! Go to this page (make sure to open up a new window):

7. Type in or paste your IP address that you got off the computer into the first box under "Step 1". Then hit Generate RegEx. Then some funky symbols will come up on your IP address under "Step 3". Copy and Paste that onto the previous screen we had opened called "Create a New Filter"
8. Your blog should appear in the big box on the left. Then click on "ADD" and save changes.
I think that's it! Good luck!
