Default How do I make a photo into a link?

I'm on Blogger and on other Blogger blogs (yes I know how silly that sentence sounds if you say it out loud) you can click on the SU catty pic and be taken straight to the online catalogue. I cannot for the life of me work out how to do this. Help please!

Thanks!

I only know how to do it if the picture is somewhere on the net.
Here are some instructions that I typed for someone else:

The way I figured it out is kind of lame--someone gave me a HTML button that I put on my blog and I disected the html code to figure out how to do it.

What I have figured out....
1) create an image to be the *BUTTON*
I use MS Publisher--but MS word would work too. or just a picture you like: now this picture/button needs to be posted on the web
Ex. the button for my stamp sale--I uploaded it as an image at the top of my stamp sale post

Once posted on the web somewhere right click on it and choose "Properties" ; Highlight the "Location" (making sure you got the entire address) and copy (CTRL + c)

2) A place for the button to LINK to. In the case of the example of my stamp sale post--it is linked to that entire post; in the case of the 10% off sale it is linked to the post where I explained the discount; it could be a link to another website as well

3) the code: (note the BOLD TYPE is the web address of what you need to insert)

do not use bold type when you create this code and make sure you use all of the symbols including quotes

4) installing the code
Go to blogger (or your blog) sign in, and click on customize, and then click on the Layout tab, then choose Page elements
Click on "Add a Page Element" and then choose HTML/Java script
type or cut and paste the line of code into the big white box and then click "Save Changes"

IF all went well--and I didn't forget to tell you something there should be an image that when clicked upon will take you some where.

I must admit I read your instructions and was completely confused. Then I thought I'd just try it - and it worked!!!! You're a star!
