Default Help me comment on your blogger blog

Ugh, you know the sign in where it says ID, and you have to put in your typepad address (my blog). I've tried to figure it out, but can't, directions would be appreciated!!

Joan, here's what I found on the blogger help site: provide your OpenID login information. After you click "Publish Your Comment," you will be redirected to your OpenID provider to authenticate your ID. After authenticating with the provider, you will return to the comments page and your comment will automatically be posted. Your comment will appear appear with a OpenID icon to the left of the comment.

Note that your display name is the name sent to us by the OpenID provider. If no display name is given, we will try to derive it from your OpenID URL. This is the name that will be displayed as the author of the comment and will be linked to your OpenID URL.

When I tried the OpenID comment on my blog, here's the sample URL it gave:
http://profile.typekey.com/(user name) so apparently it's not just your blog address. I hope this helps!

this was nice of you, but I still don't understand what I put in, but I will try by putting in paperlicious as my user name and see what happens!!

well, i just did that on your blog but it didn't work. you also have another option that I can use, so that is helpful, but a lot of blogger blogs don't. hmm.

Joan, I think what you're talking about looks like this, right?:

Post comment
(pretend there's a comment box here)

Name: type name as you want it to appear
email address: [email protected]
website: http://www.paperlicious.typepad.com

That's how you would post your comment on a blog. Your comment would appear along with your name. If someone clicked on your name, it would link to your blog. Hope that helps!

Novell, what you are describing is what it looks like on typepad blogs. OpenID on blogger looks different. Joan, do you have a user name for typepad that you log in with? It looked to me like you were supposed to type "http://profile.typekey.com/(user name)" but put your user name in where the parentheses are. Does that make sense?

For me to leave a comment on a blogspot blog, it asks for a Google username and password. My userid would be my email address and the password that I established when I created my blogspot blog and/or Google id.

I use name/url (my blog) for Blogger - and that will normally work- except for one and I have to use the open id from my wordpress blog, and then I have to be logged into my wordpress blog to do that- so often times- no comment. I don't think it's right that you have to create a google email or sign up for a blogger blog to comment on some of the Blogspot blogs. Blogspot users should make sure as many options to comment are allowed to make it easier on us.

eta/ Novell- i LOVE the name of your blog!!!
