Question Template help... please

I just started a blog and would like to create some templates ... I have searched SCS and the best suggestion I have found is to use paint... so I tried ... and I just cannot get my template to look "professional" .... there has got to be an easier way!!!! What do you ladies use who create templates use?

thanks so much

I use a variety of programs, such as Apple Draw, which doesn't come pre-installed on Macs any more (which is too bad as it was a pretty easy to learn/use drawing tool). Sometimes I use the graphics tools in WORD 08, but I don't care for it.

I also use Vector Designer, and Adobe CS3/Illustrator, both of which enable you to make vector graphics, but, there is a significant learning curve, especially for Illustrator.

I've never tried Paint.

HTH!

i have created some templates in the past and use the drawing app in MSWord - mostly, because that's what i'm familiar with. MSPaint is such a basic app i wouldn't expect that you'd get much from it.

sorry - i know i'm no help

I also use Adobe Illustrator and will agree with Julie about the learning curve. Steep. I have been working with it for several years, but I still run into issues that I have to look up sometimes. Corel Draw is another vector (line art) program that works well, although it doesn't integrate as easily with Photoshop.

Regardless of which program you create your template in, one of the best file formats for saving it is PDF. That will allow the broadest number of systems to open and print your templates, and they usually will be sized right.
