I have to admit, this is one of the last places I think to come to post as I do try to post on people's blogs a couple times a week or when they do update, I am sorry about that, I guess I didn't realize we were suppose to keep up a chat thread here (my bad) I will do better. As far as challenges I have done the ones I can I don't own any "man" stamps so I didn't do the last one and the next one if I can find some acetate I will particapaite. As far as people leaving comments on blogs, my blog anyway it seems to be the same handful. Just thought I would put my 2 cents in here.
*note- April I was not picking on you, I just was doing my blog rounds and happened on your post.
Please please please....do not think I am trying to stir a pot here! I need to learn to just keep my mouth shut because things that I say come out wrong or are taken wrong. I just love being part of these groups and I love to get to know you all a bit better. I probably spend too much time on SCS...my addiction...I know.....but I thought it was part of our requirements to update on here. My bad if it's not. Your right though, I guess as long as we are saying "hello" in the comments of our blog that should be enough. But if you don't check in here once in a while you do miss things....i.e. challenges or updates on changes to peoples blogs etc.
I have done my rounds to the blogs! I do hope some of you are able to come out and join our challenge this time around. It's no fun playing by yourself!!!!

Hi all! I can't do this most recent challenge b/c I have NOTHING acetate, transparency, etc. We have NO $$ for anything fun... so I have to sit it out. I did the masculine card challenge, but didn't post it for votes b/c I sent it to my fil.
Hello everyone just wanted to let you know that the last challenge was a flop. Not a big deal but just wanted to let you know I was unable to open up a thread for voting because only 1 person posted theirs to the gallery. If something changes I will let you know. Thank you to those of you that participated.
I'm so sorry I have to sit out the next challenge as well. I don't have anything acetate or transparency and am in the same boat with my crafting budget. Thank you for putting it together and I'll look forward to seeing everyones cards.
This is a message for those girls who do not have acetate in their art rooms....
Less Expensive Or Alternate Options for Acetate:
1- Macaroni box windows or other food boxes.
2- Windows from envelopes
3- Page/report protectors work great!
4- Plastic covering on packages
5- Plastic microwave popcorn bags
6- Transparency sheets
7- Plastic from toys or other store bought items.
8- Clear envies that stampers use! Just recycle them!
9- Holiday clear/decorated plastic wrapping paper
10- the freebie stuff you can use from anything you buy that has a clear plastic covering.
11- Clear vinyl book covers! From paper supply store.
Just a few interesting ways to get around not having the "proper" stuff. Think outside the square.
I admit that I do not check this thread very often nor participate in the majority of challenges (I've done one so far) but I do spend quite a bit of time checking all of your blogs and commenting on the various projects that group does and I when I see a challenge card posted I take the time to vote.
I try to post a new project on my blog every other day but really shoot for daily and that takes time. I simply don't have the time for SCS like I used to. If I am not meeting the requirements of the group please let me know because I may no longer fit within the group. You are a great group of ladies and I love seeing what you do but all I can do is balance things as they come along.

I think it seems so far that most of us are doing what we thought for the group. I did fop on the last challenge and I am really sorry for that! I have been fighting some sickness for almost 3 1/2 weeks and have another home again this morning. I had the card done and never had the chance to upload it... I still plan to-even though it is done~that is my next order of business. I also try to upload to my blog weekly or more if I can and am commenting daily on others... I do stop over here to catch up a bit on you all and leave the odd post. Is there more we should be doing? Otherwise I am really enjoying being part of the group!
Hello, just letting everyone know I'm about to post the voting for challenge #5, if you have not posted your card yet in your gallery you have about 15 minutes.
Oh no, I am so sorry I didn't post it in the gallery! I had my grandmother stay with me this week and she just went home this evening. She wanted me to sit with her so I haven't had a chance to check our thread. Sorry, this week was not my own. :(
Hello! Checking in and sorry it has been a while....things have been just crazy busy..and lately I forget to check in here. Oops! Will try to do better, LOL! Anyways...I do not have the time to do a challenge right now (and really would want a full piece of acetate) but will try to catch one soon. This weekend I have two funerals to go to (Dh is a pastor) and washing machine on the fritz (sooo aggravating!!! evidently a "warranty" isn't really a "warranty" it seems!!! Ggrrr...) Have a great weekend everyone!
I am up and about...just...It was not bronchitis...rather ...pneumonia I have been battling. I feel the drugs are taking an effect finally, so I can be back on deck...almost.
I have done my rounds of everyones' blogs and caught up with all the posts there. I have even updated my own blog. In the next week I may not be as prolific as usual whilst I try and build my strength back up. Please bear with me here!
Wow I can't believe how life can get so crazy busy. I am finally back, and all caught up from the holidays. So I am getting caught up on everyones blogs this weekend.
Michelle, take care of yourself, pnemonia can take a long time to recover from. My dad had it last year and it took him almost 3 months before he could go back to work. SO Follow all the Dr.s orders!
Morning Blogging sisters! I went my rounds this morning and made comments on updated blogs! I just love checking in on them because everyone is so talented and inspiring!
I agree with Angie...I feel human today and doing the rounds of the blogs this morning was a great joy. WOW we have some talented artists here. Way to go ladies!!!!
Please note everyone, that Melanie http://newbynew.blogspot.com/ has withdrawn from Sassy Stampers. She wants everyone here to know it has nothing to do with any of us! It is just life circumstances at this point in time.
If everyone could update their list, that would be great.
Thank you Michelle, you guys have all been wonderful and I have learned so much from you. I will definitly keep some of you marked on my frequent visit list. Take care and thank you for letting me be a part of your group. I'm now going to unsubscribe.
I am not sure as to who our mod. is for this group so I am just going to post here. I too would like to discontinue being part of this group. I am so very sorry. I know, I know, I just went on a bickering spree and now I'm dropping! It's nothing personal, honestly, I just decided that this blogger group is not for me. I too, along with Melanie will be checking in with some of my favorite blogs here and Michelle, shellpole, I just love you and the way you make me laugh.
PLEASE REMOVE ME FROM YOUR BLOGGER LIST'S! THANKS!
Should we post our challenge cards from the last challenge yet???
I have no idea if we have a moderator or anyone in charge of organizing our challenges. I had it on my calendar to host a challenge today, but I have no idea if that is still on or not. I know a few ladies are dropping from our group :( If anyone knows what is going on please let me know
Oh no hope our group isn't going to fall apart... I enjoy everyone's blogs...
I hope not :( I really enjoy this group too! I was wondering maybe we should mix it up a little. Challenges are fun no doubt, but maybe we should do some things like secret sister's or swaps. I am sure everyone can think of other activities that would help us get to know each other better. I have never been apart of a secret sister activity, but it sounds fun from what I have read about it. If anyone else has any ideas I would love to hear them :-D
I am still here and would like to do challenges. I just didn't have anything that would qualify as acetate or clear for the base on the last one. And, with all the personal stuff I had going on for the one before that- I made a card but it was FOR someone so I didn't enter it in the challenge.
I'm not sure what is happening or why. I mean, I am on a weeklong business trip to TN and still checking in!
Still here as well. It's too bad we have a few people who have decided to leave the group. I hope most of us are staying.
Challenge update:
* This bi-week's challenge is the acetate card.
* Posts should be up on Feb 28.
* I will get a link up by March 1st and will include the link in an entry on the challenge thread for voting. Keep an eye out for it!

I am still here as well...just had an incredibly busy several weeks...and in the midst of it all not everyone in my family has been well (lots of virus' and other sickness). I would like to participate in the next challlenge. Don't have acetate so that kept me from the last one .... I hope no one else leaves...this is sad... :(
April and Melanie have begun their own blogging group and I guess you cannot do it all. I wish them well with their endeavour!
Just a thought on fewer numbers. I think fewer people in the group will make it more manageable for us to all get around each others' blogs, so I am not stressing...yet!
Julie, I love your suggestions! Any suggestions are welcome, I would think, for us to all mull over!
As to secret sister...a wonderful idea...but has inherent problems for little old me....Like it isn't going to stay a secret for more than ten seconds with a dirty great big "from Australia" sticker on it, eh? Not sure how I would get around that. Oh the other thing is....who is going to want to incur the extra expense of sending to me?...Just a couple of thoughts bashing around this empty vaccuum....aka...brain!
April if you are still subscribed to this thread. I wish you well with your blogging future. It is sad to see you go, but I do understand times, interests and circumstance change upon occasion.
I make you laugh? What a lovely compliment! Here's one for you to make you smile for the day....Wife sits down on the lounge and asks hubby ...What's on the TV? Hubby replies....."Dust"...That's when the fight started!
Jennie, my sweet, you have never played with acetate? It is such a lovely medium in stamping, that I fully recommend snagging a few pieces!
You really do have to have a permanent ink or two to give acetate justice though....I have recently bought StazOn Buttercream and boy oh boy is it pretty on acetate!
I can always help out with a few different techs if you are interested in ever giving it a go. My favourite at the moment is Acetate/ Pearlex and the Cuttlebug! Yummo scrummo!
Oh and I do hope the sickness has flown from your house...It sucks to have illness in the air!
Cheers,

My hubby and I thought that was just hilarious!
Good luck in the future!
Cheers
Too funny! dh and I just had an "little" argument over this very thing not too long ago LOL!
Wish you well Melanie and April!!!! I will still drop by from time to time....
Michelle...I would love some tips on working with acetate...I may be going to some craft stores tomorrow and if so will look to purchase some....
Can you fold acetate? I would love to make a card with it but am unsure of scoring it.
My dd has been running a fever for 5 days and I am so tired of sickness...it is just some virus that last about 7 days. My oldest son had the same thing a week and a half ago.... Now I hear the flu is going around..please miss my house!!!!
Julie...I, for one, say post up your challenge....Only one way to keep the group involved is to keep trying!
Anyways, I reckon we keep perservering.....I know normally I can do things...but it has been a horror section of time for me...and maybe other people are in the same boat. I know Jennie has had illness in her home too....and stamping life just grinds to a halt when that happens.
Let's just keep going and see where it leads us.
Cheers,

For a start, I don't buy acetate from craft/art shops. I toddle off to Officeworks...which is a big stationery shop here...I am sure you would something along those lines there. I buy "clear presentation binding covers" at 250 microns which is a good weight for card making. I still have OHT (Overhead Transparency Sheets) from my teaching days, but use these if I am using the acetate for layering as it is much much finer.
I have a bone scorer (and yes we allude to all sorts of very naughty analogies when using this tool!) If you own a ScorePal...then it is very like the scorer there, only a little finer. I use the scorer to score the acetate normally. So yes, it will fold! In my opinion ...not as well as card....but if that is a concern then thing like brads and decorative staples can come into play.
I am wondering if a blunt edged knife would work the same.
First, you have to find yourself some actetate....and then we can begin!
Cheers,
Oh did you see the list of alternatives that I posted the other day? THat might be a good list to keep handy

I think a lot of us have been dealing with sickness and sick kiddos. :( I had a horrible case of stomach flu and I am just now regaining my strength. My DD is finally better after having it for the past several weeks! I have four young children so when we are all sick it gets beyond crazy in our house. I also own an online store so I work as well. If our group members have to take a break once in awhile for sickness or stress I of all people understand. I enjoy everyone in this group and I hope to be a support :-D

I had that nasty stomach flu...thought I was going to DIE! Awful stuff! That is where all of the sickness in my house started and that was back in January. It takes a while to get back your strength. I also understand needing to take a break from time to time...sometimes things just get to be too much and something has to give. This latest round of sickness is fever passed between my three kids...it goes through once, then goes through again. I am so tired of hearing the "beep" of the thermometer!!!!
