Just set up a new blog and need help

Ok, so I am a real newbie to the whole blogging thing and finally got up enough nerve to set one up today and loaded a bunch of cards.

When I got done I realized I have no idea how to attract people to my blog.

For those of you that have really active blogs, what's your secret? Do you post here on SCS and other websites or do you offer blog candy or something else?

Really not sure what I'm doing so any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

I don't have a really active blog, but I am a web developer. This article: http://www.lonniegardner.com/2008/09...-traffic-tips/
has a lot of good info on how to get a lot of traffic to your blog. You don't have to worry about all the details of the steps he suggests, but I would definitely follow the advice about the "pillar" posts, posting comments on other blogs, and encouraging replies to your posts.

I think it's a good idea that you have your blog listed as your signature on the boards here. I always find myself checking out people's blogs from the forums I read.
