I had this same issue and question with font and color. Someone was kind enough to explain it to me. So, try going to design, then template designer and then click on advanced. If you scroll down you should be able to change the font.

I am by no means computer savy so hope this helps and works for you.

There is a way in Edit HTML (under Design tab) where you can change the font (is selecting one of theirs - Georgia, Arial, Verdana, etc.), however if you want to use a totally cool and fun font, then it's much harder but Kevin and Amanda have great fonts and instruction.

Hi Heather You are right, I want a totally different font and actually did go to Kevin & Amanda's site, but can't make it work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I need help. I think it's all in the fonts I have on my computer and don't know how to load them in to my existing "Font Box" on Blogger.com (my blog host). Can you help me? What am I doing wrong? Or can you offer tips on how to fix or do this?

How did you make your banner, then? Do I need a separate software/program?? Then upload it, correct?

Thank you Gale May I ask if there's any free graphics for a banner to down load or is it pretty much something I'd have to buy? I'mm trying to figure this out on my own

The banner you have now was created in Photoshop. I have it because it was part of my package from college, but you can get a free one like Gimp (already mentioned) or Paint.net.

With one of these you can make adjustments to your photos, add watermarks and stuff like that. Plus, you'll be able to create new sidebar headings with the blank that one that you have. There are a lot of tutorials online on how to use these programs.

You'll get there!

FYI: You can use custom fonts from Kevin and Amanda or any font on your computer with Kevin and Amanda's instructions. They just provide code for the Sidebar Titles and Post Titles, you can add more code for any blog element, such as the header as shown here in my blog: Heather Testing Nav Bar (this is NOT an advertisement, I'm just showing you on one of my test blog areas, where I experiment with code).

Here is the code you must add to the JS file they tell you to modify:

// This block of code changes the Blog Title. Change color codes for your site.

sIFR.replace(kevinandamanda, {
selector: '#header h1',
fitExactly: false,
tuneHeight: -5,
css: ['.sIFR-root { color: #ad6060; font-size: 50px; font-weight: normal; text-align:center;}'
,'a { text-decoration: none; }'
,'a:link { color: #c7169d; }'
,'a:hover { color: #333333; }'
],
wmode: 'transparent',
ratios: [6, 1.93, 10, 1.92, 13, 1.86, 17, 1.82, 21, 1.8, 29, 1.79, 32, 1.78, 33, 1.77, 36, 1.78, 43, 1.77, 44, 1.76, 47, 1.77, 70, 1.76, 71, 1.75, 74, 1.76, 75, 1.75, 76, 1.76, 1.75]
});

//End of code.

I did post this previously but maybe it was mistaken for an add when really i was just posting code to help and then just to show you worked on a blog.

Best wishes

I stopped doing the js method as well. The effect can be sweet, but it's wonky because it just doesn't work sometimes.

webs.com has been up every time I've checked, but I too saw the font working intermittently (over a period of a week or two). Since it was on someone else's blog, it was buggy to get in and work on it.

If you ever did a google pages account and can still get into that, then you might be able to do it that way. I don't know for sure since I've not bothered with it again.

I don't think anyone thought you were advertising Heather. :grin:

Thanks Tee!! I just wanted to be sure

Hmmm..this is the first I heard of it not working. It's worked on the sites I have installed but its not like I check them day after day after day, so its very possible that they are working when I look - LOL - of course isn't that how it always is.....when you want to show someone a problem and then it of course is working at that time (LOL). I've worked in the computer field for like 20 years and it's always a blast and full of interesting stories

Anyway...just wanted to share that you could use it to change different elements of the blog, like the Blog Title, but where the Sidebar Titles and Post Titles are the most popular

Thanks again
