Look for the width of your blog in the template:
go to dashboard > edit HTML and look for this part in the template: (mine is in red here)

#header-wrapper {
width:980px;
margin:0 auto 10px;
border:0px solid $bordercolor;
Resize your header to the width of your blog.
Sometimes Photobucket resizes your uploads to 800 or 900 px, you have to check or uncheck a box if you want to keep it a bigger size.
