Giving Credit on Blog Posting

When you post a link to someone else's blog (i.e., giving them credit for the idea of what you posted), do you E-mail and let them know?

not necessarily. linking them and giving credit is the proper thing to do. i don't think that it is necessary to let them know you gave them a mention.

I don't email them. I always link them, as much as I can, and try to make sure I've commented on the item before I've posted it on my blog

It depends usually on how hard it is to e-mail that person. Some blog owners don't have thier email posted in thier profile or on thier blog (e-mail me button). I don't email them to let them know if they are hard to contact. Sometimes I'll leave a comment on thier blog though and just say something like, Hey I tried your project and posted about it. Thanks for the great idea! or something like that.

Linking is always cool when you mention somebody else, but I usually don't email to let them know If giving an award or something, I do visit that blogger's blog and leave a comment with the info
