Default Hi!

Happy Belated Birthday Barb!

I was MIA this weekend, I went with some crafty friends to a retreat in scenic Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. There were many crafty themes, needlepoint, crochet, bead making, painting, scrapping and stamping.
I won 2 prizes- an expanding CTMH paper expandable paper organizer- which I immediately filled up with my cardstock and digi's.... and a weekend (Christian) retreat which is valued at $450 or so....! I had a really nice time and could have stayed another week...- well, not really. I took my Cameo to get to know it better, but stamped more than playing with it. One of my fellow crafters was so smitten by it, she decided she may need to buy an electronic cutting machine.

I am super busy and am not keeping up with being the coordinator here- if anyone wants to step up and do it- hollar. If status quo is fine with you all, then life is good.

Headed to bed- hugs to all

Shelly

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!
I'm home again - survived the time with my high-maintenance parents... and the 2 days with 230 or so children. Yesterday was church, church, and church - yes, 3 services... took ALL day, but it was good.

I have two days to get caught up at home, get ahead on DT responsibilities, and do a mountain of laundry so I can pack for our week-long vacation. Oh, and I have a meeting tonight. EEK! Wish me luck.

Happy Belated Birthday Wishes, Barb... I am sorry I missed the day, but sure hope you had a TREMENDOUS day!

I have no time to catch up in the threads, so let me know if Ive missed anything important. For now Ill just wave and..........
Leave a trail of friendly (((HUGS)))

Checking in. I did enjoy the break and got a ton of things done too! It was nice. I won't be around blogging/commenting every day but will when I can.
Maxine, just saw the video of the homemade Misti - and LOVED IT! I'll be keeping that in mind if mine ever dies.

Late check in

Not sure where I left off but dd ended up getting worse - dr called her to the ER stat, as in was calling an ambulance to take her Dh said he'd take her himself and she was off - they admitted her and did EVERY POSSIBLE TEST imaginable. All negative, normal, routine. The nurse told her she literally 'got the million dollar work up" and that's no lie. This bill will be longer than Santa's list!

They ruled out to rule in - we know what it wasn't, and nothing bad - like kidney failure, etc. She's still lethagic, fever, nauseous. They are chalking it up to a bacterial infection running it's way through her system. She went home yesterday and we are all thankful that it's treatable. We'll have to keep a closer eye on her.

This mom is tired, but thankful.

Sending hugs to all

Default Hi

Scary Kelly, for sure- glad it is resolving- and hope she recovers ASAP!

Lynn- glad you are taking time to refresh!

Maxine- that is the video I saw for making your own Misti- I have a huge stack of the storage containers and made one, but have not used it yet. I use the containers with a large magnet sheet for storing my dies. I also bought more to use with Take it Over again for unmounted stamps.

Waving hi to everyone else!

I was feeling bad the last couple of days- cold vs allergy..... stayed home and played with my Silhouette- figured out the Scan and Cut- watched alot of You Tube video's..... I will have to try to use it more often so I do not forget..... Maybe buy less dies!

Working this weekend, Stephi will be home tomorrow PM and is running the Chicago Marathon Sunday- we will get up at 5AM to head downtown- it will be awesome- 45,000 runners! Stephi's first marathon.

Have a great weekend!
Shelly

Good Morning Ladies!

Today is a day to spend in the stamp room and get some projects for tomorrow. It is Camp Stamp-in-Oga day tomorrow and I am again staying all day with my friends Terry and Amy, who are also on SCS. Stamp class is in the morning and then the all day part goes until midnight--if I make it that long......... We get to use all of the SU supplies--dies, punches, inks and most of the current stamps--that Sarah and Cheryl bring along with two great meals along with snacks. It is a great day with tons of inspiration!

I probably will not be back online until Sunday or Monday--so have a fantastic weekend!

wow! What a time you all have had, but especially DD. I hate when you go to the doctor and do all those tests and then they can't find anything wrong. Grrrrrrr. . . Hope she gets better soon.

Sorry you have been under the weather. I hope you're well now and can put that behind you. Glad you had some time to play with your Silhouette. I don't know when I'll get time to try mine out.

Good luck to Stephi in the marathon.

Haven't had any time to stamp this week. I will have to work on my DT card over the weekend, but I don't really have any plans so I should have plenty of time to do that. I hope to have my Family Search PP done so I can try it out in my class on Sunday and see how it works and if I need to do any changes to it. Then I have to work on one for Ancestry which will need to be done by next Saturday, but it is not as involved so it should be easier.

Oh, and I sold some Teeny Beanies last night to one of my Great Nieces. She teaches yoga classes to young children and uses them in her classes. I only charged her $1 for each one and then gave her a bunch free that had the packages open. Added the $20 to my DGC's savings account.

Shelly - good luck to Stephi in the marathon!!

I am not good with the Silhouette in figuring out in depth tasks...it's collecting dust currently but need to start using it at least for titles when scrapping. I ended up buying the Scan N Cut hobby machine. I've used it once so far and am quite pleased with it. I think that's the first machine I was able to just plug in and use with ease. I know it can do more than cut images but if I can just do that with it and save on dies, I'll be happy!

Hope you are feeling better. My allergies have been acting up too. Tis the season!

Another long time with no check in. It was a really long weekend last week and long work week. I never made it into my room for World Card Making Day. I finally started feeling better on Monday but work kept me busy and tired all week. I did start cleaning my room a few nights ago and finished last night so I can craft tomorrow and Monday.

Today my sister, BIL and I took Mom to one of the casinos to go to Carlo's Bakery (of Cake Boss fame). It was her first time going to the casino, she's not a fan but enjoyed lunch at one of our fave pizza places and getting treats at the bakery, Godiva and the candy store lol.

It's been a good football game day today. First UT beat Oklahoma and now BYU is way ahead of East North Carolina. They still have 10 minutes to play, so you never know how it's going to come out. Our 2nd QB is out with a leg injury. The Utes play California later tonight. My youngest DGD is a Ute. Tomorrow the Astros continue their playoff games #3 against Kansas. Hoping that they will win it. That will put them up 2-1.

I finally finished up my Power Point for Family Search. I'm pretty sure I covered everything. I'm going to try it out on my Family History class tomorrow. Then if I've missed anything I'll have time to fix it before next Saturday. Now trying to catch up on e-mails and cleaning out my desk cabinets.

Kelly that must have been a scary trip to ER with DD - never mind the bills, by the sounds of it. Praying she recovers soon - very soon!!

News of Jordan is that he is 'doing very well' - will find out more in mid Nov when we go to a big family anniversary... The assailant has pleaded not guilty and has elected trial by jury, which will occur next May. Frustration for the family, but his 'right' under our law. He is just delaying the inevitable, and we as tax payers have to pay for it as he will qualify for legal aid...

I have had a busy week, mainly in the gardens, and also taking the car into the garage (2x) for it's 6 monthly Warrant of Fitness (Govt requirement) and needed some repairs to get it, and I had to wait for parts.

Yesterday we had a family gathering here with the two offspring and grandies and some other extended family - a lovely afternoon was had by all.

Got out to the studio this afternoon and made 2 cards and prep'ed for class this week.

Waving to you all from a lovely warm spring day down under

Hello Stamping Friends--Happy Sunday Evening!

Friday night we had Euchre-Card Club--for church and it was fun. It was at a couple's house who decorates in a big way for Halloween. Their driveway is about 200 yards long and has lights along with decorations all along and we walked up around 7--so a bit spooky! They have lots of decorations in their house too so it was a fun evening all around!

Saturday was Camp Stamp-in-Oga and was a great time. I bought a few things at the rummage and I think I made about $150 on the items I sold. One of my challenge cards won a prize and I also won a raffle-Christmas DSP, an embossing folder and 2 rolls of ribbon--YAY! I completed a set of 16 Christmas cards for the LSS swap, and cards from 5 cards from kits or mystery images. I also got a start on the invites for our Christmas Cocktail party. Laura Jean from Madison, drove over to visit for a bit and Amy brought a cake to celebrate our birthdays. YES--it was a fun day and I stayed until 11:00 pm!

This morning, I had a Humane Society Meeting at 8:30 about 45 away and it lasted until close to noon. After the Packer game, I cut the grass and we cleaning up some of the gardens--it was close to 80 today, so a great day to do some of these outdoor chores.............

Default Waving Hello

Dropping in to say Hello- had a great day at the Chicago Marathon today- Stephi ran well. It is very well organized and we had alot of fun. My older daughter (Katie) made some cute posters for us to hold up- Stephi did not see us at all, but loved seeing them at the end of the race- we took pics with Stephi holding them. She ran in 3 hrs 14 min : ) She stopped for stomach cramps and to go potty a couple of times, and was not unhappy with her time, but not overly thrilled either.....

Nothing else new- working and cheering on the Chicago Cubs : ) I worked Fri/Sat and again tomorrow. I am off until Thursday, and will go to Colorado Friday AM for a week.

Barb- wow you live on the go! Sounds like a great day of stamping and fun and nice to get the swaps all done too : ) I love Euchre!

Maxine- what do people who are unemployed do with their car required maintenance??? I bet your gardens are wonderful! Your family time is so precious! I am sorry about Jordan and having to go to court- that stinks!

Maggie- you keep busy too- glad your presentation is coming together well. Sounds like you are also watching football- I love football too, but I don't watch a ton, as I live in Chicago Bears country, and they are not so hot....... Either is Univ of Illinois...... We went to NIU, they are OK, but we do not get to too many games- Ray usually goes to homecoming (And I stay home and work, then stamp all night : ) )

Kristie- I had a blast with the scan and cut on the Cameo this past weekend- got it all figured out and loving it.

Kelly- still keeping your daughter in prayers- hoping she is improving with her mystery malady!

Oh- my son finally proposed today- Yippee. She is a doll- just love her- and they make a cute couple. No plans or date set yet.

Waving hello to all

Shelly, Stephi did great at the marathon! Know y'all are so proud of her - and had a fun time too. I saw the pictures on FB. BIG CONGRATS to your son on proposing!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's wonderful that y'all like her too! Makes everything better!

Kristi, that's wonderful that you got the Scan N Cut! Know that's going to be so much fun to use. I'm still on the fussy cutting and a few dies. I doubt if I could even figure out how the Scan worked! LOL!

Maxine, glad to hear Jordan is doing better. Sorry he's having to go to court but hopefully justice will be served!

Maggie, it really was a pretty good sports weekend for Texas! The Cowboys lost - but then again, that's nothing new! LOL!

Waving hi to everyone.

Waving to you all from a lovely warm spring day down under
I sure hope the Jury throws the book at Jordan's assailant and they put him away for a long, long time! I understand that pleading not guilty is what they are supposed to do otherwise, they incriminate themselves if they plead guilty.

I need some time in my gardens. Thinking I'm going to be pulling a lot of stuff out and replanting in the Spring. They say that the best time to plant is in the Fall though, but then I have to think of all the watering I have to do since we don't usually get a lot of rainfall in the Fall.

Your Warrant of Fitness sounds like our yearly inspection that we have to have done. Mine is due in April of next year.

LOL! It's Fall and we have been having lovely Summer days! I don't think we're supposed to get Fall weather until November. I wonder if that means we'll have a mild winter this year.

I did put up quite a few Halloween decorations this year, but sometimes I wonder if it's worth it just for me. The kids did come over for dinner and I was able to get them up then, but I really don't do much for Halloween because I don't have kids come to visit these days. It's sad because it used to be a lot of fun.

Congrats to Stephi for doing as well as she did. Saw your photos on FB.

Astros play in Kansas tonight and it's a Do or Die game. They have to win to keep on going! GO STROS!

Ugh! I will be soooooooooooooooooo happy after Saturday and the FH Fair is OVER! It is getting to be a royal pain! If I had known how much work I was going to have to put into this, I think I would have said NO! I spent hours last night cropping screen shots that I had saved of Ancestry. It has changed a lot over the last few months. I think I have about 74 slides and cropped 48. I haven't even added them to the Power Point yet, although I've numbered each slide so I can just add them in order. I also should do a list of what each one is supposed to show. It's easy to forget that.

I do like football although I don't always watch it. I just happened to catch the UT v OK game so I started watching it. I try to keep up with BYU and U of U since they are my DGD's colleges. Once my other DGD starts going to UH, I'll probably have to keep up with them too. It was nice that they all won their games.

I am in the midst of doing year-end doctor visits with all that I can before our deductible year starts over again. I went to the Vein Clinic yesterday. I had a sore lump on my right leg that I've had for months after jamming it on a metal post in my front yard by the flower bed. I wanted to make sure I didn't have blood clot in there that could eventually travel to my lungs and kill me! It turned out okay. It didn't even show up on the Ultra Sound, but the PA checked it out and also said that it was so tiny that it wouldn't be an issue. She said I do have slight varicose veins in both legs, but not serious. She does want me to wear compression stockings for a couple of weeks (knee highs) and then go back for a check up. I'm wearing them today and I hate them. They are tight on my legs, but not tight like to cut the circulation off.

I have an appt. with my primary doctor on Thursday to get a couple things checked out. I want to chat with him too about my leg. Then I go to see my dermatoligist on Monday. I have a new eczema spot on my right leg that doesn't want to go away and I want a refill of a prescription that she gave me about 7 years ago. Glad I can get this all out of the way before the end of the year so all my visits, etc. are all free right now.

It's been crazy here at work this week. I hate it when my boss is here with no mediations or arbitrations or appointments to keep him occupied. He got a last minute mediation yesterday afternoon for this afternoon, so he's occupied today. And he has one tomorrow morning so that will keep him somewhat busy.

Maggie, wow you sure are keeping the docs busy! But glad to you're you are in good hands and it sounds like everything is checking out well and normal. Good idea on the deductible.
We just switched insurances in August and my daughter single-handedly met ours for THE YEAR in about 45 minutes flat! Ha!

I will catch up tomorrow as I just got in from Boy Scouts and it's pouring rain - we managed to get soaked in the monsoon!

Hugs!!

AM I seeing things - is that really Jeanette?!!!!!!
Welcome home! I'm sure your trip was marvelous!

Sorry to post and dash last night but I was so excited about Shelly's son getting engaged! Is he the one that lives in Colorado that you'll go visit? Dh's brother is moving there early next year ~ I keep forgetting the town, but the pictures look really nice.

Got all the kids to school(s), now heading quickly to the bank/supermarket for 3 things (which means .......... 35!), then taking dd to her follow up appt. Still no answers, which is super frustrating, but like I told her last night, stop fretting. It's nothing BAD, like bad bad - you know what i mean - and even though we don't know what it is, we know what it's NOT, and that's a blessing in itself.

Today is library hour at school (why why why do I volunteer for things! Oh, I didnt! I was VOLUNTEERED! LOL!!!) Then Math and Science club with little man ........ did I tell you he joined the Run Club? It's like a pre-track and field. A way to get the kids motivated on exercise, fitness, etc .......... I told my PTA friend if you so much as DARE to sign me up for that ...... Ha! Me? Run? NO. Just ...... no.

See, Shelly - I need your children here! They'd be awesome coaches!

Kristi, I've heard ahhhhmazing things about the SNC!! You will love it!!! Everyone is raving about it. And did ya'll see Jennifer McGuire posted about the new MISTI, or new and improved MISTI? Woooooow! I'm loving the video Maxine sent about the 'DIY" one = going to put that on my to try list asap! It looks like something even I could do - hee hee!

Scattering hugs!
