Default Hi

Just dropping in before going to bed- it was a very fun weekend with Stephi's Graduation. She skipped one of the 4 ceremonies..... we made it to two of them. We had a cookout with the other roomies families which was fun and then moved her out and cleaned. We stayed in a hotel 2 nights and headed home Sun AM. I decided since it was not too hot out to drive the van (no A/C) which worked out very well. We would never had made it in the smaller card- we were packed to the BRIM.....! Wow where did these 4 years go! Zoom- like a Flash- gone!

We are trying to figure out a game plan for next week and deciding what to do about moving her into the dorm the following weekend.

Bathroom has not started yet, as the bathtub is a week delayed D/T the color.

Ah- catching up is nuts... I will get by blogs tomorrow. I have 12 more magazines ordered- so hit $400.00- $200 each for Make a Wish and Ronald McDonald. I already too a check over to RMH.....! So cool, huh?

Hope everyone had a fab Mother's Day!

Jeanette- Glad you had a great trip! I loved seeing some of the pics on FB. Hoping the new computer works out well.

Darlene- keeping you and your DD in prayers- and 6 is such a big number for you this week- hoping you will be counting down days from 28 soon!

Maggie- hope you are felling better. Crazy you have to take pics at night and in the daytime as well- and how nice of the boss to help you out with that. Did you gain weight with all of the food and chocolates this past week? Sounds yummy

Lynn- or Tillie for short- sounds like you have a new career! Or name..... hehehe I hope your dry soil is fruitful for your garden. Did you say you cut way back this year?

Maxine- sorry about hubbies eye- hoping the other one improves or stays the same!

Barb- sounds like lots of work- I remember when you went and helped with the sale. Hope the house, once listed, sells quickly!

Kristi- hope you continue to feel better too. Your Mother's Day sounds really nice- did you get to cook out?

Kelly- Oh Summertime- come on and get here! So, I missed a post, if there was one, about which school your daughter picked.

Kel- hope the sun is shining on you and things are improving : )

Katie is coming home 6/15 and it is for good! She has been applying for jobs and will step that up as well. Oh Yeah!

Just found a tick on the dogs ear......topside- off to remove it.....

Night and sweet dreams
Shelly

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Barb, you were so quiet yesterday... did you go back to the hot tub and stay until you got prune fingers?

Maggie, sounds like your daughters showed their love very well this Mother's Day!

Lynn & Maggie, the computer guy my DH got my computer from was sooooooooooo kind/smart! He told my DH that Windows 8 is not liked and recommended putting 7 on my computer, which my DH agreed to! YAY!!! I don't have to deal with 8!!!

Shelly, CONGRATULATIONS to Stephi! I'm sure you are very VERY proud of her!

Someone in another thread asked me to tell about my trip. I thought you might like to see/read what I posted there. Here it is…

I would love to tell you about my trip. Oh what a trip it was! This was my 10th international mission trip - and it was totally different than any of the others I've been on. This one definitely stretched me way out of my "box".

I am a planner/organizer... but on this trip we couldn't really go with plans. (Partially a cultural thing and partially because we weren't totally sure what they needed for us to do.)

Our days were spent in a government owned Catholic hospital. The conditions were beyond horrible. So very VERY unsanitary! No running water in the bathrooms. No hand cleansers. An absolutely GROSS kitchen - so filthy. But............... and this is a biggie - the people in the hospital (patients and staff alike) were so gracious and loving and appreciative of us being there. Part of the team cleaned the gross kitchen - which took the better part of 3 days. The nurse on our team walked alongside their nurses and taught them some ways to make things more sanitary as well as proving excellent medical care. Some of the team worked with the hospital administrators. And I got the best job of all - I was the keeper of the key, which meant I was the one who could get us into the office where our purses and supplies were kept... and I got to roam wherever I wanted in the hospital, mingling with people (albeit without an interpreter most of the time). I gave animal cracker like treats to the toddlers/children in the vaccination waiting room... and squeeze balls to crying children. I gave clean white scrubs to the nurses (that's what they wear). I gave pens to the doctors. I visited with patients, giving them gushers and/or cookies. And I prayed everywhere I went!

Sunday and our evenings were spent in 4 different churches - I was able to go to three of them. I missed one of them because we only went there on Sunday morning and I the team was divided then, so that wasn't the church I attended. The three churches I did go to were all different - one was a Haitian church, one was on the mountain, and one was in the carport at the pastor's home. Talk about worship! WOW!!!

We were also able to walk around and visit in people's homes both on the mountain and in the Haitian village, praying for needs, witnessing to people, etc.

I spent about 1 1/2 hours one evening making jewelry with the women on the mountain, too. That was fun!

Our days were long - we got back to the pastor's home where we were staying around 11:00 or midnight and had showers to take (on the days we had water) and crawled into bed. My bed was an air mattress on the balcony. Bliss!!! The roosters started crowing before 4:00, which always woke those of us sleeping on the balcony, so the mornings started early. But that's okay!

It was an incredible trip!!!

Shelly--we did have the house on the market last summer, but little interest as there was still lots of "stuff" in the sheds and outside. There were many things left after the August auction that was not picked up or not sold. We have hired someone to redo the wood floors in the house--some of it is birds-eye maple. This is a three story Victorian house, and the wood is on the first and second floors--4 bedrooms there. It is going to be beautiful when done and I think will help to see the beauty in this house. There are lots of projects that still would need to be completed by the buyer as roomie's sister and BIL who passed away 15 years ago had great visions, but little follow through........................... Like window trim not put back on some of the "new" windows that were put in about 25 years ago, trim around a whirlpool tub not finished, a back entry added about the same time and the floor is still cement, and other projects like that!

Jeanette--sounds like a wonderful trip. I had a few things to do around the house yesterday, but I was not in the hot tub!

So, Stephi is going right back to school? That's great that Katie will finally be home for good - well at least until the next adventure in her life.

Well, the dual pictures are to show what it looks like IRL and then how it looked the night that I went out there for the wedding. I've decided that I'll go the next time I go out to my DD's which is almost that far. That will be on Memorial Day. They are going to cook and invited me over so I'll go a little early and go by the place and get the daytime photos and then I'll drive back out on my way home and get the night time photos. That way I won't have wasted so much time driving out and back to the place since I'll be out that way anyway.

LOL! Luckily I didn't gain anything from all the junk. I'm trying to limit myself to only 1 or 2 truffles per day. It's really hard since I'm such a chocolaholic!

Hope you were able to get that tick off the dog.

Jeanette, sounds like a wonderful adventure trip for you. That's great that you were all able to help out with different needs there.

Barb, the house sounds fabulous! If I had the money and wanted to live in the North, I'd be up there in a shot to get it. I'm sure once it's cleaned out and the floors are done, you guys won't have any problem selling it.

Good afternoon - Rainy day here and it's supposed to continue every day into next week. It's not raining all the time, but enough that it keeps me from my daily walk across the street at the mall.

Last night I finished up my 2 DT cards. I didn't add a whole lot of embellishments to them. They just didn't scream for it. Then I spent some more time going through 2 boxes of craft materials in my storage room. I finished one box full of different sizes of cellophane bags, some storage bags of various sizes, and 2 bags of that plastic bubble wrap. I keep that to use to cushion cards that have lots of embellishments or ones that I want to protect from the mail service. Tossed some really old printed paper that I know I'll never use. Slowly, slowly.

Book club is tonight. I hope the weather isn't too bad at that time so the people will come out.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I'm running away from home today! I am actually going to the small city an hour from us. Will go to card class (it's held weekly, but I haven't been since last October). Need to take my new computer and go to the computer guy to have him help me with a couple of things. Shopping. Lunch. FUN!

Good Morning Ladies. It is a bright, sunny morning, but a bit deceiving as we had frost again overnight. I am headed to the stamp room this morning and I am getting a massage at noon--YAY for me! I am going to put supper in the crockpot too--Chicken Bacon Crock Pot Chowder--it is so yummy!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Default Hi

Maggie- hope you get good pictures for the insurance. The BBQ sounds like lots of fun!

Barb- it looked really nice here today, but is pretty nippy out! Worked on a card and did about 6 loads of laundry- a couple more to go- Stephi's bedding and clothes from school. Lucky you- massage- how nice!

Stephi is going to do an internship in DC Maggie- Dept of Energy and Natural Resources. Next Monday thru August 8th.

Katie comes home for good- yeah! She will be looking for a job, and hopefully will get one close to home- or in a place that is nice to visit : ) She will live here until she figures it out I believe.

Jeanette- your day trip sounds very nice- hope you got alot done!

Shelly

Maxine - I was over on Paper Playful and saw your name as the Random Winner on the Frilly and Funkie challenge - Congrats!

Shelly, that sounds like a great opportunity for Stephi. One of my nieces went to DC to work after graduating college and has a fabulous career. Not sure exactly what she does, but I think has something to do with the State Dept. She travels a lot - mostly over to Europe.

Oh Barb, the massage sounds so great. I need to do that myself to follow up on my chiro appointments.

Yes Maggie - and it is a most generous prize too I am looking forward to having enough time to 'shop'...

We went up to the orthopedic specialist today and she recommends that I have a carpel tunnel release on my right hand - we have to wait to see if I need to go through the 'public' system, or if our Accident scheme covers it, which if it does, means I continue in the 'private' system and would be able to get it much sooner...

Then after we got back here, we went to what you would call a 'viewing' of a church member who died this week - only 9 days after being diagnosed with Acute Leukemia!! The funeral is tomorrow morning at 11, and I have a hair cut booked 9:30.... rush rush rush.

I hope you got gloriously inky today Barb

Shelly how exciting to have Katie back home!! And well done by Stephi.

Jeanette you really had a busy time away - what a great trip that must have been!

Darlene you are in my prayers - trusting that DD has made the 28 day program.

Kristie and Kel I trust you are both healthy and enjoying life.

Waving from a rather damp down under! - Thankfully this current rainmaker is moving off quickly, as DH has his son and wife visiting from Australia over the weekend

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

That means the weekend is quickly approaching now.
Did I just hear cheering???

I sure wish I'd been invited to Barb's house for dinner last night. I'm just sayin'.

Shelly, I had a GREAT day yesterday - and one of the best things is the computer guy taught me how to use my external hard drive, so now my digi images are safe if my computer crashes!

Maggie, you were kind of quiet yesterday - hope you're doing okay!

Maxine, CONGRATS on the win!!! I am sorry you're dealing with carpal tunnel though. Hopefully they will get it all fixed up soon.

Waving at everyone else!

BTW, I'm determined that I will make it to all of your blogs before I go to bed tonight. I'm sorry I've been so lax of late!

Good Morning Ladies--I need to finish a swap to get it postal along with two cards that need to be scheduled to post on my blog. This afternoon, I am also headed to a store closing sale at the shop where I took my quilting class earlier this year. It is sad to know the owner is retiring and shutting the doors as I am just getting started in this new hobby and it is now going away--it is only two miles from my house so it is so convenient too.

We are heading out of town tomorrow morning for a wedding and will be back Sunday night. If I am not able to check in tomorrow, have a great weekend!

Well goodness I've missed some chatter!

Glad to read everyone is doing well, and thanks to Barb, well fed!

Maxine, congrats on your win!

My oldest is out playing golf today with her boyfriend before they head to work ... I have to laugh because I can't even get to her go to mini golf!

And our second dd has PROM tomorrow! I can't believe it's here! We got her hair appt and make up appts and then it's a long weekend away with her friends. We have a choral banquet to go to on Sunday, followed by a scholarship awards banquet on Tuesday ... then Senior Recital Thursday - whew! She's keeping me busy. I NEED Summer! (who am I kidding, I won't stay home then either!)

I felt sooooo bad for my daughter's best friend. She had to have her prom dress taken in 6" by the dry cleaners. Well they misunderstood somehow and took in 6" from the waist! Now this is a girl who's been trying desperately to lose weight to fit into the dress and now 6" more are gone! Oh my heart broke. We've offered her our dresses from our oldest (from her black tie events) but they are all too small. Poor baby

Jeanette, I loved reading and hearing about your mission trip! Truly you are a woman of God and it's such incredible work you and your dh, do. Here I can barely keep up with my lesson plans for VBS! LOL!

LADIES!! Beware!!!! If you are a fan of giving Starbucks gift cards, you may want to check your bank! Hackers have once again struck and they found a way to use the encrypted bank information on the discarded cards that customers use, ie, gift cards you've been given. I almost always pay cash for mine so there is no confusion but I know I've received a lot as well - I wish these people would just go away and stop this madness already!!

Off to clean my kitchen -- have a great day ♥

It's pretty damp down here too! I call it the Monsoon season. Rain, rain, and more rain and is to continue into next week. I think we may get a little break on Saturday and if so, I plan to get my plants in the ground and then have the yard man mulch everything.

Enjoy your visit with DH and family this weekend.

Sorry about the carpel tunnel issue with your hand. I hope you'll be able to get it taken care of sooner than later.

Wow! That was very quick with the leukemia. So sad. Prayers for the family.

So sorry about the quilt store closing. Now there's a good project for you Barb. Why don't you just buy her out and run that store.

Enjoy the wedding! Safe travels.

Off to clean my kitchen -- have a great day ♥
So sorry about that poor girl's prom dress. I hope that the dry cleaners are somehow going to make everything right for that girl. Hope DD enjoys the dancing and festivities.

You sure will be well fed with all the banquets you have going on this weekend.

I don't do Starbucks, so no worries for me there. I did hear of another company that was having a hacking issue, but I think it was before I got my new debit card, so it was my old one that was involved. I also haven't heard any more about the recall on the 2014 Fiestas so I haven't done anything about that either. Can't until I get some official notice.

My kitchen and house are a mess! Need to do damage control over the weekend.

I'm actually wanting to go to the movies this weekend, but I also need to get my plants in the ground. I may call a GF and see if she wants to do dinner tomorrow night.

More rain here today, but maybe not as bad as it was yesterday morning.

Not much got done last night - Had my chiro appt. after work and the traffic was horrible getting home from there. Had dinner, took my shower, and had to get my card up on my blog. Checked out Paper Playful and went to bed early. Didn't have time to work in my storage room. Tonight is a women's activity at church, so I won't get anything done tonight either.

Tomorrow my DD and DGD and driving in to have lunch with me. DGD is off on Fridays, so they always try to do something together, it's nice that I'm included this time. We're going to eat at the Cheesecake Factory which is across the street in the Mall. I hope the rain holds off so I can get over there.

Maggie - enjoy the Cheesecake Factory! We went awhile ago...think it was after Christmas? It was nuts, there are only a few in the state and they are always packed. My sister goes more frequently so last time I had her pick up cheesecake for me. My mom works at IKEA and the position she originally had was eliminated so she's on the sales floor now and has to work a lot of nights & weekends and works whenever they need her because the other people in her department are lazy and always asking for time off.

Shelly - Glad to hear Katie will be home and staying with you for awhile. It will be nice to get some time together before she starts a new job/adventure!

Jeanette - I enjoyed reading about your trip and seeing some of the pictures on fb. Good luck with the new computer!

Darlene - Keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts. Hugs!

Maxine - I hope you are able to get the carpal tunnel treated sooner rather than later. A friend of mine needs surgery but is trying to wait until fall. She's had one cortisone shot already and is going on Monday for another one. This is her busy season at work so she can't really take 6 weeks off from computer work right now.

Barb - Sounds like you are keeping busy!

Kelly - You too! Always on the go! I hope your DD has a great time at prom. LOL on your other DD playing golf. I HATE golf, went to the driving range once - yuck lol. I do like mini golf though even though I am terrible at it!

Lynn - Hope all is well with you and Jim and the furbabies too.

Kel - Thinking of you and hoping the migraines are not as frequent.

Mother's Day was great. We went to breakfast, my sister came to my Mom's for a bit and then we had the bbq with one of my stepsisters and her family. The girls were a lot of fun. They are 5 and almost 7. They are usually quite shy but opened up a bit this time which was nice. I went to one of my friend's on Tuesday for part 1 of the American Idol finale and then watched the second half at home last night. So glad Nick from CT won!

My stepdad brought over a gift from my Mom last night. A butterfly bush...I am not a gardener LOL. I have a black thumb. My Mom is going to come over on Saturday to help us plant it. Our yard is a mess and we have a ways to go with making it nice. I wasn't looking to put anything permanent in yet but I suppose we can always move it. We may go to the movies one day to see Furious 7 before it's not in theaters. I really want to see it on the big screen but sitting through a movie is torture these days LOL. I am so used to hitting pause for a snack or a bathroom break!

I am catching up on blogs tonight

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Awwww... Kelly, THANK YOU! You made my day!

Maggie, I'm glad to see you posting more. You were so quiet before that I was afraid maybe you didn't feel well. I hope you enjoy your movie this weekend!

Kristie, how fun to have a new bush to enjoy! Very thoughtful of your Mom and step-Dad. Thanks for your sweet comments, too. I'm actually liking my computer more now that I am getting things loaded back on, etc.

Waving at everyone else!

Bummer! My DD just called and we decided it would be a good idea to postpone lunch at The Cheesecake Factory today. We've been having so much rain that everytime it just begins to rain, the streets flood. Yesterday she had a hard time getting out of her subdivision to go pick up my DGS from school. I told her not to fret about it, we would just reschedule. The weather could be clear here and she'd be having monsoon rains, so I don't want her to get stuck outside of her subdivision either. Just as well to reschedule, so we're going to try again next Wednesday and hope that the rain has cleared up by then.

We had talked earlier before I left for work, so I did bring something with me just in case we did have to cancel, so no problems with lunch for me.

I'm glad that your mom still has a job and I hope that she enjoys it since she has to be on the floor. IKEA is some store isn't it! We have one pretty close to me, but I seldom go therel since I don't have any room to put anything in my house anyway. And it's always NUTS! Very crowded and hard to park.

Sounds like you've been enjoying the last few days with all that you've been doing. Oh, the butterfly bush sounds so pretty. I have one planted and I just bought another one. Still need to figure out where I'm going to plant it and get it in the ground, hopefully tomorrow!

I ended up going to the women's activity at church last night. It was fun, but only about 18 there. It didn't last long, so I was able to get home by about 8:30 and then worked some more in my storage room. I got another box organized, and emptied a big tote that I promptly filled up with food storage items. I think I'll have time over the weekend to get a lot more done especially if it rains tomorrow morning like they say it will, otherwise I'll be outside getting my plants in the ground. So far my one remaining Chrysalis is still hanging on my water hose. The one that was hanging from the windowsill disappeared. Not sure if something got it or if it blew off with all the bad weather we have been having.

I'm always here! Sometimes just not much to say. Not sure if I'll get to go to the movie or not. Depends on the weather. They are now saying that we may be getting more of it tomorrow afternoon and in the morning I want to do my planting, so I'll have to see how the weather goes.

Well, good golly! Looks like I've been gone forever!!! Too much to even attempt to keep up with. Great chatter though!
Shelly, one graduating and one coming home! Double yea! Maggie, hope you weren't involved in the major flooding that Houston had. We're soaked to the bone but as Jim said, we can't complain since we've been dry for so long. Our garden is really suffering from too much water though. We're suppose to keep having this kind of weather (storms daily) for the next two weeks. I'm growing web feet!!!!!!! Yikes!!!!!! Jeanette, sounds like a great trip but know it's nice to be home. Maxine, uck on having the hand surgery but know you'll feel better when all is said and done. Kelly, I know your daughter will look stunning tonight. That's a shame about the neighbor. I'm thinking the cleaners should pay for a new dress for her! Kristie, sounds like you had a great Mother's day!! So nice! Barb, sorry about the quilt shop closing.

Maggie, I'm glad you were just quiet - and not feeling poorly, as I feared.

Lynn, is that you? It has been a while since I've seen you post. Missed you! Yes, the trip was FANTASTIC!!! The funny thing is - even as much as I love my guys!!! - I'm rarely anxious to get home from a trip. This time was no exception. The time in the Dominican flew by and I would have loved to stay longer.

Kelly, I saw prom pictures on FB... WOW!!!

Hi Lynn. No the flooding was not anywhere near my house or work, so I didn't have any issues. My DD had some trouble on Thursday in her subdivision even with her DH's truck, but she lives 30 minutes away from me. We were supposed to have lunch together on Friday, but decided that the chance of rain was too much and I didn't want her to get stranded outside of her neighborhood and not be able to pick up her DS from school. We rescheduled for Wednesday.

I intended to work outside today and plant flowers. I went out the back door not on the patio to retrieve the envelope with the yard man's check in it which had fallen to the ground. He was supposed to come on Thursday and still hasn't. I'm sure he's catching up with everyone after all the bad weather we've been having. Anyway, I did not realize the door mat was very slippery and my legs went out from under me. The right leg bent back at the knee under me and the left one went in front of me. The right foot took the brunt of the fall and it's all bruised up and swollen and scraped up. I can't believe I went out shopping after this, but now it's more swollen and very sore. I've put ice on it twice this afternoon and going to soak it in Epsom Salts later. Not sure if I'll make it to church tomorrow, so I called a lady to cover my class if we have one.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

As per my norm, I was not here yesterday/Sunday.

Oh Maggie! How horrible! It looks painful, too. Please take care of yourself!!!

Today is the last day of school/inservice for our DD... and she and my DH will both fly to Anchorage today, too. He leaves in a couple of hours; she doesn't leave until 4:00... but he only gets there 30 minutes before she does. He does have quite a bit further to go than she does. LOL! They will thoroughly enjoy touring Alaska over the next 9 days!

Brock and I will keep things going here at home............... if we can just do so without any malfunctions with plumbing, etc. that would be good.

Oh, and this is also my sister's last day of teaching/inservice - EVER! She retires at the end of today.

Hugs for all!!!

Good Morning Everyone--I am heading to the stamp room to swap out the Springtime Cards in a bit.

We had a great weekend--wonderful wedding Friday night and I got to spend a few hours on Saturday with my friend Carol--momcgw here on SCS--as we did some shopping at Anchor Paper and a fabric warehouse. Saturday afternoon we played some Pickleball with our friends and had a great supper at an Irish Pub. We headed home early in the afternoon yesterday, stopped by Wis. Dells for a short hike and got home around 6 last night. The weather has been wonderful the past few days and we did get a bit of rain over the weekend.

I wish for you a great start to a new week!

Safe travels for DD and DH. Sounds like a fun time for them.

Yeah for your sis! I'm so jealous. I keep thinking - just 3 more years (or until the car is paid off, whichever comes first)

It was a crazy day today. Got to work and finally got my boss off to go to his mediation for the day. About 10 I called my doctor's office to see what I should do. The nurse said that he couldn't tell me anything until he saw my foot, so she told me to come right over. Went and had x-rays. No fractures that he could see so I guess just sprains and a lot of bruising. Foot is still all purple and slightly swollen. He also decided that it's been too long since I've had a TDaP shot, so I got one of those too.

Got back to the office in time to have lunch and then get ready to leave early to go to my Opthomologist. With all the testing, I didn't get out of there until a little after 5. I did get some new glasses. They are the kind that I've wanted for years now and they are OTC - only cost me $60. I'm wearing them now and trying to see if they will really work for me. He says that I'm farsighted in one eye and nearsighted in the other, so these are supposed to help with both close up and far away. Not sure if I like them for watching TV, but that usually isn't too bad. I have more trouble seeing my computer. He also wants me to change the supplement I take for my eyes. What I'm taking now doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. He wants me to try something else for 6 months and see what it does. It will save me about $40 a month.

I do need to see about something for dinner although one of the men at the office brought in his leftover chocolate birthday cake. OMG! It was soooooooooooo good. I wasn't going to eat any, but after I got that shot, I decided I deserved a slice.

Glad your foot is doing a little better Maggie and nothing was broken. Jeanette, that sounds like a great trip they're taking. I hear parts of Alaska are so beautiful. Great for your sister too! Know she'll enjoy retirement.

All's well around here. Jim has his blood level tested last week and it is now at a whopping 13.8!!!!!!! We're very excited about that. I just think he had an excellent nurse (me!)! LOL! He's doing pretty good. Hasn't used the oxygen much but then again he hasn't been doing a lot of physical activity either. The garden is getting a ton or rain these days so that's been good. Beans, okra, squash and tomatoes will be here before we know it - hopefully.

Not much stamping going on with me. Seems there is always something else I need to do. Hard to get in the mood to do it right now too. I have a couple of cards I can stick up on the blog that I did a while back and then I'm at a dry hole I suppose. Guess I need to get with the program a little more. What motivates you to stamp when you get like that?????

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I disappeared yesterday - doing some deep cleaning/purging in the closet. It took longer than I thought it would... but it sure looks better. I also had a couple of meetings - one was an hour+ conference call. Love when we can have meetings from the comfort of our home - though I also love going to meetings.

DH and DD both made it safely to Anchorage last night. DH arrived around 11:30 PM our time and DD around 1:00 AM our time.

Maggie, I'm glad you had your foot checked out - it didn't look good - and am also glad it is a sprain. Healing thoughts heading your way. I am sorry about the shot... and yes! I think you deserved that slice of cake.

Lynn, YAY for DH! He certainly DOES have a great nurse! For me, when I get in a stamping slump, it seems to help if I just jump back in. I don't usually like the first card (or more) that I make, but I do find the enjoyment of the hobby returns after a card or two.

I'm planning to dig into another closet today - and might try to make a card, too. I have to pick Brock up from work early this afternoon, as I have a meeting about 2 hours from our home and he'll have to go with me. I hate that I'll have him out so late tonight - we probably won't get home until 10:30 or so... and he's usually in bed before 8:00. Oh well, I guess he'll do okay.

BTW, our Brock turns 30 tomorrow!!!

Good Morning Ladies. I had a good day yesterday--I swapped and mailed the Springtime cards, cut the grass, did some clothes shopping and had a meeting last night. I have a few errands this morning and hope to be crafty this afternoon. Make t a great day!

Need a favor. A lady left a comment on my blog this morning and said that she couldn't leave one using her iPad so basically had to go over to her other computer to leave one. Said I needed to change my setting to "pop up" under comments. That's what I have it on now though. If any of y'all have an iPad could you try to leave a comment on my blog and see if it would do through? You don't have to follow through and actually comment if you don't want, but am just trying to see what's going on. Thanks!

Lynn, did you get your answers/help?

Today IS a special day! Brock is a happy man - "his" Kelly was not at work yesterday, but is to be back today! And it's his birthday - which means "we get to open presents" after work. He gets to choose where he eats dinner tonight - it's family tradition. He's choosing Ryan's so after his evening chores and presents of course, he and I will travel to the small city an hour from our house for dinner.
