Default Hi!

I joined a swap- you get three cards back- but it said to make 4 cards. I made the cards a month after signing up, as I have to get them in in 2 more weeks, and made three. I went to mail them and dang it...had to go make one more......duh! So, if we all go to the same desert island, Jeanette will be the swap hostess...hahahaha At Mark's Finest Papers, they give away stamps if you join the swaps- so I join as the MFP is a company that sponsors TJ newsletter, so I can use them.....free is always good......
Anyway- April 15th is not the greatest day to go to the P.O. to mail a swap....I was in line over 1/2 hour...... I figured the late arrivals would get there later on at night.

Ok- sounds good to have a hunk or two around on that Island- hehehe

It is in the 30's here today, but pretty warm with the sun out : ) I ran to Dick Blick and got some Copics- set of 6 40% off with a coupon, and a set of 4 Gelato's- in a pretty lt turquoise color and a Poppy color- could not resist...... Cannot wait to use them.

What is everyone doing to Easter???

Shelly

Shelly, have you used Gelato's before? I bought some months ago.. and fiddled with them a little bit but not enough to feel like I knew what I was doing. LOL! I need to take them out and try again.

Maybe I should take them with me to the deserted island and you can show me how to use them.

Gelato's are so fun! Take and scribble them on your cardstock, rub them in with your fingers- like being a little kid again. You can get them wet too- and mix the color together..... If you clear emboss first, then rub them on and in....then buff off the embossing- ohh lalalala I have a card I just made for TJ's for the new stamp line- love the fun colors. You can shave off some of the color and make it into paints- mix in some perfect pearls- ohhh shimmer. Come on- let's play!!! I have a board on Pintrest with some links

Shall we make that our April 15-May 14th technique challenge? Does everyone have at least one? I see they are selling a double sized stick now- saw them at Dick Blick tonight..... : )

I have gelatos, and although I have not used them much I love them I rubbed them over some debossed texture, and they gave a great result!!

O.K. - so I am bringing the cuttlebug and dies and bling - the computer and printer are sorted, as is the adhesive and watercolours and yay - what a great time we could have!!

Cool (52oF) and damp here, but not actually raining - a few drizzle patches, but the washing only got dry because there was a good breeze...

Ran out of feed for my caterpillars yesterday, so asked a local group on facebook if anyone had a spare plant, and ended up with somebody potting out some swan plants into a bucket for me to bring home so I can watch them pupate and hatch. I love our small town

We need to figure out a supplier for our consumables, adhesives, paper and such. Maybe an air drop 2x a year?

Went back a page and caught up:

Best wishes for a fantastic year, Lynn! Sorry to have missed wishing you a Happy Birthday on your actual birthday. Glad to hear that you had a nice meal even though many restaurants were closed on Monday (it's like that around here too)

We have some light snow/frozen rain on the ground this morning, so feeling everyone's pain about the absence of Spring

OK, about the desert island...I would have to bring music, some how, some way. I'm assuming that there's electricity on this island 'cuz many are bring computers and printers...so I'll bring music for us.

No one else mentioned a heat gun & EPs, so I will bring those to share...

If we're sharing, it looks like all of you have the bases covered, so maybe I would also bring my stacks of card making books and magazines for future ideas?

Lynn: I have a great hand-held pencil sharpener that I use for my Prismas and Derwents. I'll bring that!

Who's bringing the Cabana Boys to wait on us hand and foot?

Darlene, you are always making me smile!

Shelly, that sounds like a great idea for our next theme/challenge/TAT... I'm up to trying something with the Gelato's I have. Thanks for the tips, too!

Maxine, you are so artsy! Love your ideas, too!

Good Morning--late check in for me as I had internet and phone issues. It is working now, but a TWC technician is coming out anyway to check on it.

Off to get a few things done in the stamp room!

Popping in for a minute. My son and his wife and two little girls will be here on Friday. I haven't even seen the new baby yet so am really looking forward to them being here. Easter egg hunt on the agenda for the 3 year old that day too. Tomorrow will be a serious house cleaning deal. Uck! Saturday, one of Jim's kids and his family may be here......so bottom line is I may not see y'all until Sunday evening. If not, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and Easter.

Hi Lynn - know the feeling - I need to clean tomorrow and Saturday morning as we have DD and family arriving mid afternoon Saturday and staying through until Friday, then on the Monday following DS and family arrive for 3 nights.... so I may not be here much either - I think I will need that island retreat after all that!!

Sounds like you'll be having a fun weekend. More celebrating. My kids will be here for dinner on Sunday and I'm wanting to do a basket or something for them. I think I may hide some goodies around the house.

Good morning - it is Good Friday here and the sun is shining after a wet and windy day yesterday - the tail end of a tropical cyclone... but we are all ok in my corner.

Default Hello!

Happy Thursday- so I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter- early- so those who are busy cleaning and cooking (and not here on SCS blabbing with us) will see! Hope your Easter and all of the Easter egg hunts with the little one's goes well!

I bought a ham- just Ray and I this year. We have invites, but decided to stay home this year. We are going to have Easter dinner and will go to church, and then will work on painting woodwork. I bought some chocolates a few weeks ago, and they are all gone -hehehe Ray and I have been nibbling..... I have a couple of small items to send out to the kids.... Not to China though. The girls do not eat much in the Chocolate arena......

Maxine- what is the tail of a cyclone- how high are the winds? Hope the lesion removal goes smoothly...

I have the Gelato's that are the kids set- just found some at Dick Blick- feeling generous, so am going to post next week for Blog Candy. I love doing that!

So, what is everyone's favorite Easter Candy? I love dove or Fannie May (good- smooth chocolate).

Have a great day!
Shelly

Hi Shelly - we got fairly gusty winds and rain, sometimes heavy, and through the night we had a great thunder storm Scared the cat and woke us.

Other places got stronger winds (up to 115 kph) and a lot more rain than us - we got off lightly, as we often do. The South Island is getting it this morning.

My favourite Easter 'candy' is a Cadbury's egg, or better still, just a plain block of Whittakers chocolate (my favourite being their Rum and Raisin) - they are a local (N.Z.) firm that make incredible chocolate, a lot of it being 'fair trade' - i.e. the farmers (of the cocoa bean) get a good price and the workers are cared for. Unfortunately Whittakers don't make eggs . Drooling on the thought of it

Glad to hear that you weathered the storm.

We had rain this morning, but then it cleared off this afternoon. I think we're supposed to have a lovely weekend. I'm hoping to get out and get a little yard work done tomorrow.

I heard from my oldest DGD to let me know that she and her DH got the chocolate bunnies that I sent them. They really appreciated that. I haven't heard from my other DGD yet, but that's not surprising.

Anything chocolate is okay with me. My DD that lives here loves Cadbury eggs.

Happy good Friday to everyone! It is Shelly's birthday? Happy Birthday!!!!!

It is pouring rain here and won't stop for awhile. Looks like my morning walk will have to be on the treadmill.

My fav Easter candy - anything that combines chocolate and peanut butter.

For Easter we are going to our neighbor[s (just 2 doors down) - they are hosting dinner for a bunch of people in our neighborhood. And the weather looks like it will be great - upper 70's.

Had my watercolors out yesterday (I'm taking a class) and it was a colorful mess! I will need some practice before I can show anything on my blog.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Okay, Maggie, I have to ask.......... why would I want to eat a jelly bean that tastes like beer? Sounds weird to me.

I also think the "nasty" flavors of Jelly Belly are just gross - grass, vomit, etc.

That being said, Jelly Belly's are my favorite Jelly Beans. (Coconut! YUM!!! Cherry! Yum! and so many other marvelous flavors! I love going to the Jelly Belly Factory for tours, too.)

I have NO idea, Jeanette! Not something I'd want to eat either, but I guess there are those out there that like the taste. Back in a time of my life when I did still have an occasional drink, I didn't like beer anyway - nasty tasting stuff. My favorite jelly beans are the black ones - licorice, but I've heard that licorice is not good for you if you have high blood pressure.

Maggie, you can have my black jelly beans. Ewww! I can remember when I was a child, I'd toss them in the trash when I had an assortment of jelly beans. I do not like licorice!

Hi Kelly! Oh my......... I didn't know! EEK! I'm bad!!!

Happy HAPPY Birthday, Shelly!!!

Happy Birthday Shelly,
from down under, and a day late according to my calender

LOVE LOVE LOVE BLACK jelly beans - they are the only ones I really like!! - but then I don't have blood pressure problems either Maggie, yes licorice is BAD for those with high blood pressure.

Oh Shelly - that greeting went really wrong and I can't edit it - my wishes are sincere even if the font went wonky

So glad to have a buddy to sit and share black jelly beans with. I can only eat a couple of them at a time.

Oh, man....I missed your birthday Shelly! I am sorry. I sure do hope that it was special, just like you!

Maxine: I sure hope that hubby's procedure doesn't cause too much disruption to your weekend. Prayers for a smooth removal and quickly returning to normal for him!

I don't really have a sweet tooth anymore, not sure why...but I suppose I'm in Nancy's camp: chocolate & peanut butter, like a miniature Reese's cup could tempt me!

Why on earth would anyone ever eat a beer flavored jelly bean??? Icky poo!! LOL

I'll be going to DS & his fiance's apartment for Easter dinner, I'm bringing the ham, he will cook. Sounds like a great deal to me hahaha

Today's agenda: vacuum/sweep floors, dust, laundry music & card making. NOT in that order! Finally stealing a little me-time.

Wishing all of you a blessed Easter weekend! Jealous of you that can be out in the yard working. We had snow return this past week, although not a lot, it's still there in places. Hopefully the warmer temps return next week.
