Maxine, I pray Lydia is improving and doesn't mind being in the buggy Spring Break wasn't so good, lol -- it was probably one of the worst we've ever had (flu bug!) and I'm still slightly yucky as well but no time to stop! I have an apt on Friday to see what's going on w/ this sinus thing I'm lingering with. But the bright side is, as sick as my son was, he didn't miss a day of school which would have been disasterous. We will make it up to him another time!

Waving hi to all!

I don't celebrate Passover, but my bosses do and it starts Friday night, same as Good Friday this year. I have to have all the Jewish holidays on their calendars at the office.

Glad to hear that DS is okay and back in the swing of things. Yes, you really need to take care of yourself the most because if you're not well, then who's going to do everything that you do now. Mom's can't afford to be down and under the weather. Hope they can help with your sinus issues.

Maggie, I'm sorry you're feeling poorly - again! I can actually feel your pain. I'm dealing with allergies (dratted Easter lilies!) so I, too have scratchy/sore throat, along with sore eyes and and headache. Our church will have the Easter lilies on display for a few weeks - wish they'd take them down right after Easter. But they are pretty!

Shelly, I didn't buy anything during SU's SAB either. Time got away from me.

Barb, YAY for hostessing and getting lots of SAB items! BTW, I love your April Fools' image!

Waving at everyone else!
Sorry that you're dealing with allergies too Jeanette. Oh, I love lilies, but they do NOT love me either. I'm allergic to fragrances, and lilies have a very strong one. I have to be careful about what I plant in my garden.

Good Morning Everyone. I was able to finish two sets of swap cards yesterday and will head to the Post Office to mail them today. I hope to make a couple of DT cards today too. We are getting some rain this morning and that is a good thing as it sure is dry--we need a good soaking rain!

Have a Terrific Thursday!

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I sure love this time of year!

Thank you, Maggie. It's no biggie, though... I deal with them often enough that it's kind of normal to feel this way. LOL!

Barb, it will certainly be a TERRIFIC day! (Well, unless we get the severe storms they are predicting.)

Waving at everyone else!

Good Morning!

Here's to all the sniffles and sneazies and allergies and tired moms - LOL! *Cheers!*
Starbucks line was soooooooo long this am, I had to bypass it and went to McDonalds instead - am I ever regretting that decision. The coffee is rather yucky - I don't mind it normally, but this is truly like muck - full of granules! I like to drink my coffee, not eat it - LOL!

We have a full day lined up here and I just got home! Off to the bank in a bit, paying some bills, find some new replacement plants at Home Depot for the front island, pick up my son, pick up girls from rehearsal, and then dh and I are picking up paint samples for our tv/living room. It needs to be repainted in the worst way and the best way to remind him is to take him there and say this one, this one, or this one, or this one .... LOL!!!

Have a good one, lovelies!

Ugh! My nose is runny like a faucet and my eyes watering. I did go to work, but I left about noon and came on home. I just couldn't deal with all of it. I think it's just going to have to run its course. I tried taking a Claritin but it hasn't done anything and I take a Zyrtec every night. I did get some work done, but my boss had gone off to "run" and I knew he wouldn't be back until late in the afternoon. Passover is tomorrow night, and I'm sure he is doing things to get ready for that. He's the one who does the shopping in the family.

Hoping to get some crafting done this weekend. I'd like to go look at plants tomorrow too and see what I want for my garden. Also need to find some Milkweed for my butterfly garden.

Sounding like allergies have hit everyone! Oak pollen is out of sight around here and it's given me a huge kick in the rear. Of course having a big one right outside the kitchen window isn't helping! LOL! Jim is doing better and his blood level went up from 8 to 8.2 from Tuesday. Go back on next Tuesday for another test on it. No home health. I asked for it and they said we didn't need it! Grrrrrr....... He's getting stronger though. Makes for a very tiring day for me and all I want to do is sleep it seems.

{{{hugs}}} Lynn - I can hear that it is hard going for you at the moment - not only physically but emotionally too. Wish I was a tad closer so I could come and give you a hand.

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts...

Maggie, I hope you're feeling better today - so you can do all those things you're wanting to do!

Lynn, I'm glad your DH is making improvement. I am sorry, though, that they didn't agree to the home health care.

Kelly, sounds like you and your DH have a BIG project ahead. I wish you well!

Maxine, I think it might take more than a "tad".

Waving at everyone else!

Our oldest DS is driving in today for a visit - YAY! He'll be here in time for supper; I'm not sure when he's leaving (I'm guessing it will either be Sunday or Monday), but I won't be online while he's here, so I'm going to go ahead and wish you a Happy Easter!

Hugs for all!!!

Glad to hear that Jim is doing better. I hope that you're finally able to get some rest.

I'm finally feeling somewhat better today, but I've been taking Zyrtec 2x a day instead of just once. I think that has helped my runny nose to clear up. I've never been one to have allergies, so this is really a mystery to me. I have no idea what I'm allergic to or how I became allergic.

I made it out to the grocery store this afternoon. Since I'm feeling well enough to go to my sis's for dinner tomorrow, I thought I better go get some ingredients to make things to take. I'm going to make potato salad, cole slaw, and lemon cheese bars. I'm really a nut for lemon squares and these are similar only they have cream cheese in them. Yummy!

Lynn, I simply slice the cabbage, add some raisins, grated carrot, chopped chives and parsley, and/or a sprinkle of dill tips, and then a dollop of plain yoghurt stirred through - bliss! I believe in keeping it simple for a slaw

I found this one on allrecipes.com. It's Sweet Restaurant Style. I just made it and it is SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOD! I hope no one likes it so I can bring it all home for me.

I used 2 bags of coleslaw mix (Dole) and I threw in about a cup of julienned carrots that I had from the store already cut.
1/3 cup diced onion
1 1/3 cups salad dressing - I used Miracle Whip Lite
1/4 cup + 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil (Canola oil)
1 cup white sugar ( I used Florida Crystals cane sugar)
2 Tablespoons white vinegar (I used White Wine Vinegar)
1/2 teaspoon salt

It calls for 1 teaspoon of poppy seeds, but I didn't use that.

Mix the coleslaw & onion together. Mix the other ingredients together and pour over the coleslaw then stir it all together. Chill at least 2 hours before serving.

Yummy!

Happy Easter!! 🐇🐣

My friend ended up staying an extra day and left this morning. It was great to spend extra time with her since I misses the first 5 days she was here. Saying goodbye was tough. Didn't realize how much I missed her until getting to see her! Hopefully we will do better with keeping in touch.

I made my nephew's Easter card this morning and will be blogging it soon. I ended up making a small basket up for him yesterday. Jen and I went to CVS and I got lots of fun little things for it.

Have a wonderful day all and I will be back to chatting and commenting on blogs this week!

Glad to hear you had a good visit with you friend Kristie

Looks as though Autumn has finally decided that it is time to visit here - the day is overcast and damp, but not too cool yet... the gardens will appreciate the rain as it is still dry for this time of year.

Hugs to you all from down under

Dinner at my sis's was great. There was a ton of food! I guess they ate about half of everything that I took. I brought some some of the leftovers for lunch today. I should have take some ham home from my sis, but I have all that chicken in my freezer.

The weather cleared up enough so the kids could have their egg hunt outside and then the Easter Bunny came to visit us and everyone had to have a picture. They had to have a picture of all the cousins with the E.B., and the only one not showing in the photo was my DGD. They also had confetti eggs and the kids enjoyed popping each other with those too. My sis has 2 shop vacs so she got those out after they were done and one niece and the great niece took the time to vacumm up all the confetti and shells (or at least most of it). I only stayed until about 5:30. I was very tired still from the allergies and most everyone else had left by then also. I think my DD and her family and one of my nieces and her family were the only ones left.

Going out tonight with some church friends to see Lady in Gold. We had seen the preview when we went to see 2nd Marigold Hotel and we all decided that we wanted to see this one too. I have a GC.

Default Hi

Hello to all! Hope you all had a Blessed Easter. Ray and I are home alone, so invited my sis and her family and my friend who was home alone. So, we had 10 in all. I made 1/2 ham and sent food home with everyone. I used the remainder of the ham tonight and made a quiche.

We had a fun time- the kids had an Easter Egg hunt- the youngest is 7th grade and the eldest is 22. We told them we put $$$ in the eggs, so all 5 did the hunt-which was hysterical. They did not find the egg with the $10.00 bill the first round, so they went out again- each rare egg they found was so funny- there was some wrestling for the final eggs, but no anger or fighting....

I did not get around to blogs Sunday nite, so will do that in the next couple of days- working tomorrow...... I have a friend that told me they have decided to move to Florida- we met many years ago in a sewing group and she had barrels and barrels of sewing stuff to get rid of. Can I come see if I want any of it...well, it is all on my back porch now- and I am going to have the old sewing group come over and look at it and I get to keep all $$$, so will donate it all to Ronald McDonald House (we have one at our hospital now- we have merged with Lurie- which is Children's Memorial /Chicago and Northwestern.

Ray about had a cow- but remained calm. I have a deadline for when it will be out of the house- I promised him it will be gone by the 3rd week of May.....and he was OK with that. I cannot believe he let me do this....it is alot to ask. I thought I had too much stuff until I saw all my friend's stuff- what she got rid of was more sewing stuff than I have all together! And, she still has plenty in her sewing room. He also got a quick look-see at her stamping room....... Since the house was going on the market today, it was very organized too. I also got about 6 stamp sets (SU) that she had in her sale box...... she told me they were free.

I took pictures and listed about 20 of the magazines on a sewing /Smocking Destash site on FB today, also Sulky thread spools- 4 for $6.00 which is a great deal.

Today was hubby's B-day so we had cake for him yesterday, and the neighbors stopped by with ice cream tonight- neighbor has a birthday today as well, so the guys had cupcakes and ice cream.

My Mom was in the hospital over the weekend- she had a rapid heart rate and a-fib- which is an irreg heart rate. She has had a-fib before- she goes in and out of it... Her heart rate was 160 , so was on an IV of heart meds and stayed over Sat nite until this AM....... We are going to Ky next Sat nite, so hope she is rested up a bit by then.

Kristie- glad you had fun meeting up with your friend, and glad you are feeling better.

Maggie- sounds like a great recipe (Hubby loves cole slaw). Sounds like fun with your GF too!

Maxine- Oh, it is just starting to get nice here.... The winter seemed so long this year- and I look forward to not needing a coat to go out!

Hope you all had a fab weekend!

Shelly

Good Morning--Happy Tuesday Morning! It is a bit sad here in Wisconsin as the Badgers did lose the title game last night to Duke. It was a great game, but the Badgers did not play well..................

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter!

Shelly - prayers for your mom and hoping she is better! I'm LOLing at Ray and the sewing mess - don't you have construction going on? Lol! What's a few more piles, eh

I'm sorry I'm MiA .. Just not enough time in the day! And now on Friday we are leaving town so there is much to be done!!!

My laptop died! I'm so upset. I have the iPad which is a blessing but a pain in the hiney to maneuver. Could be worse. I could be at the library. Lol!

We are leaving town Friday morning - my son's Gifted Odyssey program took first place at regionals and we are heading to Orlando for States. If they place again, we head to Worlds which is being held in the USA this year (last year it was in China!) There are only 6 of them but they are a great group of of kids.

Made my blog rounds - if I missed anyone, holler!

Sorry about the dead laptop. Glad at least that you have the laptop.

Have a great time and I hope you DS's program takes first place. The DS and DD of one of my niece's placed in their OM's and they are both going to State at the end of the month. Their teams each did a fabulous job.

Shelly
Glad that you had a nice Easter with family over. I'm LOL'ing on the egg hunt. This year was the first year that they limited it to just the little kids. There has always been $$ in some of the eggs, but just change, not bills. the big kids always loved that.

Great score on all the fabric! I have 2 GF's and a DD that do quilting and would LOVE that opportunity to have fabric gifted to them. I used to sew always, but gave all my fabric away a few years ago. Now I have paper that I need to do something with.

Just a quick note - DH's brother rang this morning - he is Jordan's grandfather. Jordan is making good progress and is due shortly for surgery to close his skull (they had to take some bone out to accommodate the swelling.

The aggressor is pleading not guilty and has opted for a trial by jury (the most expensive way under our system) and has qualified for legal aid, and has engaged one of the top lawyers - a Queen's Counsel.... all at the tax payers expense. The family, including us, are not impressed!

That aside, it's great to know Jordan is doing well Thank you all for your ongoing prayer supprt

Good Morning--Happy, Happy Hump Day!

I had a great day yesterday. I spent the day in the stamp room and I completed 2 DT cards along with 2 sets of swap cards. Then, last night I had my final quilting class and completed my table runner. It was a fun class and I am excited to start a new project soon.

I have a few errands to do this morning and will be back getting inky this afternoon!!!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Oh Maxine - how frustrating and may proper justice prevail. Mostly though, I am thrilled that justin is doing better and pray for his continued recovery! He has courage and strength and perseverance!

Morning all - sewing costumes all morning for dd's show and not a clue what I'm doing! Lol!
Meeting at ds's school in an hour and then errands, pick ups.

Wish I could stay home and get inky!!

Hope it all goes well for Jordan and the surgery is completely successful and he'll have a full recovery.

Hopefully the jury won't be impressed either with what he did. Of course he's going to plead not guilty, but the truth will out and if you have a good jury, they'll come back with a guilty verdict. What would be the punishment for that?

I had another appointment at my new chiropractor last night after work. They also showed us (about 5 others and me) a presentation on what what to do to help ourselves with our treatment to get better. They also gave us each a DVD of exercises to do to help our posture and getting our spine healthy. There were 3 different routines on the DVD. I watched the first short one and had some issues with some of them that use my arms since I still have that deltoid bursitis in my left arm. I have 2 more visits this week, and 3 next week, then I go to 2x a week for 4 weeks. I have some after that but didn't schedule them yet.

I also saw on FB last night that the DH of my friend at church passed away yesterday from late stage pancreatic cancer. It's going to be really tough on her. It was a second marriage at least for her and he was so devoted to her. They were in my Family History class in February and at the time none of us knew what was going on including him. It wasn't until after that he started having symptoms of something wrong and went in for a CT and that's when they found the growth.

Hi ladies! Maggie sounds like you are in good hands with your chiro

I'm wishing everyone an early happy weekend! I'll probably see you on FB though - we are heading to Orlando bright and early for little man's States competition for Odyssey. It's not til Saturday but we'll arrive early and have a great night Friday at our leisure. Saturday is literally 7 am to 9 pm all day - those poor kids! Our middle dd's have a show tonight and tomorrow night so I'll see that today - sewed costumes by hand for two days!

And we're going to Disney! Sunday the three of us are going to Magic Kingdom - super fun!

So I will see you all on Monday! Wishing you all a great weekend <3

This is the day here in SE Wisconsin--it has been raining all night, along with some thunder and lightning and it is to continue all day. There might even be some hail, but I hope that stays away........

A great day to get inky! I hope you are having a Terrific Thursday too!

I've been working on coloring images for a swap the last few nights. Why did I pick this image to work with????? Hopefully I'll be done with the coloring by tonight and then can get busy putting it together.

The viewing for my friend's DH is Friday evening and the burial on Saturday. I already have something scheduled on Saturday, so I'll be for sure going to the viewing Friday night.
