LOL, Smoochy is probably laid up on some camel couch, restin' his hooves in a bubble bin, cold eye mask on with a fresh batch of hay being fed to him - ROFL!!!!!!! Tomorrow will be a big day - being Hump day and all!

Just getting in for the day after running around - this week is one of those for the record books! DH had "Career day" at school and just shook his head - dont' know why the teacher thought it would be a great idea to have a Pyschologist come talk to the kids - seriously, they want policemen and firemen and Pilots - hee hee! He said it was far from cool and that he passed out stress balls as a thank you for letting me visit you today gift and they ended up pelting each other with them and throwing them around like snowballs!
*insert stern look from teacher here* - LOL!!!

Miss Chrissy is off performing with Young Americans - OH Maggie! Ask your DGD if they come to her school? They only travel every 4 years to a high school and my daughter auditions for them tomorrow but is in the show/workshop/seminars/etc yesterday, today and tomorrow. Then they put on a huge musical, yep, all in 3 days! They miss 3 days of school, have to work from sun up to sundown. It's a traveling group of performers, some from Broadway, some on their way there, but it's all musical theater related. The school allowed her to go since it's a performing arts group. Only difference for her is she is auditioning after - as in, after high school, you can skip college and perform with them and you travel to either 1. USA - all over, almost every state for 2 years 2. China (Shelly!!!) where you stay for 2 years or 3. Europe, all over - including parts of Eastern Europe in addition to Paris, London, cities in Sweden, Norway and Germany .........
She's like I"ll take door #3 please!

We said you'll take NONE. LOL. You can audition, but you will defer any entrance which they will allow AFTER COLLEGE. I wont' hear of it that you're dropping out of college you haven't even gotten into yet to run off and join the circus! Hello. Not happening!! She's like I know I know, but what If I get my big break? Ugh ..............

My son also has a big Boy Scout Banquet on Friday night - just got called that I'm on serving food duty. If it's any good, and vegetarian, I'll be on EATING food duty! Hee hee!
He has a HUGE competition this Saturday which I will miss, I'm so sad. They've worked on it for months in his gifted class and it's graded, and if they win, they go to States in Orlando with a pass to Disney. I won't see it until I watch the video later

I'm super nervous about her FSU audition as it's THE SCHOOL she wants but made arrangements to visit my niece and nephew (they are 13 and 10) who live in Tallahassee! I"m so excited! I haven't seen them since they were 8 and 5 My brother and SIL divorced and we haven't been invited/allowed to be in their lives but my niece reached out to us last year on FB and my ex-SIL just stopped caring, I guess. They live 20 minutes away from the campus so I'm praying it will be possible ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Think good thoughts for us!

Whew - time to figure out dinner now that I"m home!
Hugs!

Another week has flown by! I have made a ton of progress with purging stuff. I am really proud of myself! It's the first time I am finally letting a lot of stuff go. We finally have more than a small path to walk through. We tried the elliptical that we set up in there for the first time last night. It was TOUGH!! I haven't been on an exercise machine in at least 5 years. I'm determined to give it a go though and do it 3x a week until I can build up my stamina. I've also been working on the piles in my craft room and made quite a bit of progress. I still have a little bit more to do. Hoping to finish in time for the weekend so I can scrapbook.

Maggie - I am so glad you are okay!! I hope the wedding venue will reimburse you some. What a great idea your boss had to contact them.

Shelly - I hope you are enjoying Katie's visit and have fun getting your space set up!

Jeanette - I'm sorry your weekend got cancelled but it sounds like it was for the best. We got more snow over the weekend and I was late for work yesterday. I couldn't get into my car. The door was iced shut. Mike had to get the door open and clear my windshield. The ice was so thick, I couldn't get it off.

Barb - Glad your router issues are straightened out! We had issues a few weeks ago with ours. Mike wants to upgrade to one that will handle more but man they are pricey! We have so many gadgets that use it.

Maxine - I hope your DH starts to feel better soon! Glad to hear you are feeling better. I know how you feel about your hands. I've had those problems before. I have compression gloves to wear if I am doing a lot with mine and they really do help (as long as I remember to wear them!!)

Lynn - Hi! I hope you are all staying well there!

Darlene - I am the "closest" group member

Kel - I'm glad your aunt's service went well. I hope you had a nice, relaxing weekend.

Kelly - Good luck to your DD this weekend. I hope it works out to visit your niece and nephew.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Kelly, sounds like your family is busier than busy.... but WOW! Awesome stuff happening - auditions, presentations, visits with long-lost family members, etc. Enjoy! I absolutely loved the story about DH's Career Day visit, BTW!

Kristie, way to go!!! Wow! I'm impressed with all you're accomplishing.

Waving at everyone else!

Kristie--we do have an extender for our router in the family room in the lower level as the router is in the office in the middle of the main level. That cost the same as router--about $80 and that really seems to help with the signal downstairs. We do not do gaming or things that need more "power", but we do have phones, iPads and laptops hooked up, along with Google Chromecast on a TV in the lower level too. Right now--the extender does its job!

Kelly what a relief to have Victoria now stable - and to know the end of your travels are in sight!!

Lynn I hope your gardens respond well to the TLC you are lavishing on them - does Rambo help??

Kel your little Island sounds like a piece of paradise

Kristie - how is your sorting and trashing going.?

DH attended the funeral of the son one of his (ex) workmates this morning - the lad was only 28, and was shot at point blank range - gang related. I took him to the venue and waited in the car - it was a bit uncomfortable seeing all the patched gang members turning up!!! I was very glad I had my phone with me.

I managed a pile of cards over the weekend and yesterday with DT work and also orders - I have one more to make, and that is also an order, then I can look at my March cards.. my hands are not liking it too much if I do a lot of colouring. I tried knitting this morning while waiting, and even that was not the most comfortable so my book won out - how sad

Waving to you all from a warm but overcast NZ - we have had some RAIN - bliss!
O M G! That is really scary Maxine. I don't think I would have wanted to go anywhere near that place with all those gang members coming around. Did you roll up the wiindows and lock the doors??? That was nice though of you DH to attend the funeral.

Sorry that you're having hand issues. Is it something that you can get fixed? Is it carpel tunnel? Glad you were able to make a bunch of cards even though your hands were bothering you.

You can have all the rain you want from here!

Maggie, Yikes! That is some towing/storage bill! I hope you get some good response from the wedding venue. (I would have never thought to contact them.)

Barb, I hope the caffeine didn't cause insomnia last night.

Maxine, yikes! I would have wanted more than a phone had I been sitting nearby watching gang members arrive. I would have wanted a police escort. (I lead such a sheltered life, though........ and probably wouldn't have even known they were gang members. LOL!)

Waving at everyone else!
I am still trying to get the insurance company to pay what they should pay first. It's been such a hassle. Sorry I didn't get on last night, but after I got home from getting my car, I was spent, drained, exhausted, and tired!!!!! Oh, what an ordeal! I was able to take the rental to the car dealership and drop it there. One less trip to make. Found out when I got there that the service tech did not follow through with his job in getting the guy at the body shop who deals with State Farm involved - instead just fixed it in the service dept. So that means I had to pay the whole bill up front. Very unhappy and irritated with that guy. I went over to the body shop after I got the car and talked to JP over there. He told me he would try to get it worked out today. Well, when I called him today, he wasn't any help at all. I ended up calling State Farm myself and told them what happened. They told me to send them the invoice and they would review it. I did that and then got a call from Chase at SF Claims. He was a breath of fresh air. I explained to him what happened and he said he didn't think there would be a problem with them reimbursing me for what I had to pay, less my deductible. so we'll see what happens from here. Not sure they will pay that whole towing/storage bill. If they did pay the whole thing except for the $250, I would be a happy camper. If they don't, then I'll have to follow up by sending a letter to the venue where the wedding was and see if I could get them to pay what the insurance didn't pay. What a headache this has been.

Wow! You sure have had a time of it!

My DD didn't say anything about Young Americans, so I don't think so. If she went to BYU, she could be in the Young Ambassadors which is the same type of group, only sponsored by BYU. I will have to let my DD know that you are going to be at FSU this weekend along with who knows how many other hundreds of people!

That is too funny about your DH taking stress balls to the kids. That will teach them to invite a psychiatrist to speak to the kids again. I bet the kids thought that was fun tossing around the balls.

I'm sure you can come up with some good food ideas for the Friday night banquet. Sorry you'll miss his event on Saturday. Good luck to him and his team on that.

Good for you in keeping up with the purging. I seem to be going in the opposite direction. I would just like all my stuff to be organized, so I'm working on that.

On a brighter note, the kids and I are having another Christmas dinner on Saturday. Since my SIL was not able to eat when we had Christmas dinner, we are going to do it again so he can enjoy everything. I'm cooking chicken breast, not a whole turkey. We'll share the cooking. I told my DD that if I had to make dessert, I'd probably buy it since I'm not going to have time to do baking. She put me in charge of pumpkin pie. I hope that I can find one of those this time of the year.

After I got home tonight and was out feeding the kitties, I was trying to figure out where the piece of ripped up screen came from the other night in my yard. I finally figured it out. That dog ripped it right out of the frame from the window over my patio. I guess it saw my kitties inside and tried to get at them. It doesn't sound like a very friendly dog. I did get an e-mail response from the lady that lives there. She apologized and said that the dog belongs to her daughter. It also sounded like the dog rips up things over at her house too. She said that she told her daughter she had to keep the dog locked up or chained up when it was outside so it doesn't do this again. So now I need to call Window World and I guess have them come give me an estimate on fixing it or get it fixed. The lady said that she would pay for any damage.

Maggie that dog sound bored and under-exercised!! I would not like to meet it though!

I was not unduly worried about the (blue) gang being around at the funeral as he was one of 'theirs', although I did have the doors locked - they are generally quite respectful at funerals - if any of the opposing gang (red) had turned up I would have been on the phone quick smart, as it was a couple of their 'prospects' (aged only 17, and considered dangerous by police) that had killed Michael. I dread to think what the world is coming to!

Purging - isn't that a naughty word???

Waving a quick hello to you all

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Oh my, Maggie! What a hassle over the car. I sure hope SF comes through for you. And hen the mess with the dog. UGH! Glad they plan to pay for the repairs. Enjoy your Christmas dinner... sounds like you need to have some fun!

Maxine, you are one amazingly brave woman!

Waving at everyone else!

I’m in the final count-down… the workshop I’m leading this weekend must be loaded into my car this afternoon, as I will leave early tomorrow to head to the location of the first workshop. So much to do; so little time! So… you probably won’t see me again until Monday. Have a GREAT weekend! I’m hoping next week will be a little less hectic/busy!

He actually sounds like he/she is very undisciplined. I always think of dogs as boys and cats as girls. I don't think a female dog would have so aggressive as this one was.

Maxine, that's a little frightening about the funeral but so glad y'all went to show your respect. So sad when that happens to someone so young.

Maggie, I've been seeing the pictures on FB where the dog got in. Yikes! Looks like you were having a party - and weren't invited!

Kelly, you're sounding like a world traveler just like Jeanette now! Hope y'all are having fun. Loved about your husband and the show and tell. LOL! That's one way to not get asked back next year.

I'm off to the city in the morning. Gotta get the echo cardiogram thing and then get wired for sound with the heart monitor. I hear they're a pain but luckily won't have to wear it but 2 weeks. The best thing though, is that Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnn's are also on the list of stops when I get through being punished at the doctor. LOL!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Lynn that sounds like a great compensation for being tortured by the doctor(s)!! Wish we had stores like that some place handy ... but then again I would be permanently broke, and it's bad enough now, and I am trying to save for a big stamp expo later in the year

We have just had a great thunderstorm and some heavy rain - good for the gardens, and saves me watering them tonight .

Kelly and Jeanette - save travels and we look forward to the report on Monday - sounds a hoot about those stress balls!!

Maggie I hope all things are settling down for you now with no more doggie (uninvited) guests!! Enjoy your extra Christmas dinner

Kel and Kristie I hope you are both doing well, and you too Darlene.

Good Morning Ladies and Happy Friday!

I am off this afternoon to do some errands for the Fur Ball fundraiser and tomorrow I am spending the day doing the decorations of the venue. We are heading to a surprise birthday party Saturday night for a friend from church. I will probably be back her until Sunday or maybe Monday, so please have a great weekend!

Good Morning, lovelies!

Jeanette is on the road which means she must be on her way to my house to pick up my daughter for her audition! I do not want to drive those 8 hours (one way!) so I'm SURE she is on her way to do it for me! hee hee! Safe trip, my friend!

Yep, we leave tomorrow but I'm saying hi now as today is rehearsals, dd is singing the Nat'l Anthem for a new bldg. that opens, Boy Scouts is later and pick ups ,etc are all scattered in between. Can we say STARBUCKS drive thru .... several times!!!

Thanks for the good luck wishes -- we'll need it! Competition at auditions is fierce! At least she's already accepted academically to the school and it's her #1 choice, we just need to see if she'll pursue the music theater or not.

I. Am. Tired.

LOL - Wow, Maggie that poor puppy I have to agree he sounds bored and restless - doggies get into trouble when they are just left idling. But please watch the kitties Good luck with the window screen!

Oh Max, how scary with the gangstahs outside your funeral - glad that it was just a show of support and love for the young man. that just is so sad - so young and so senseless.
How is Jordan doing? I pray for him often. Any updates on the suspect that hurt him?

Lynn - good luck today! And I"m LOLing at your description of the stores en route, LOL! Spoken like a true crafter!

I haven't made a thing in weeks!!!! The last card I did make (which had to be in the mail 2 weeks ago!) I couldn't blog so its been a lonely blog, but it's just busy season for me. There are times I'm free (the summer, lol) and times I'm not - nothing I can do about it for now.

Hi Kristie, Barb, Kel, Shel ............ waving!!!

I'll see you all back on Monday, bags under my eyes and half asleep ... drinking more coffee! ♥

Hugs!
xoxo

Hope it all went well with getting your monitor. My oldest DD had to wear one years ago when she was a teen. Hope you had fun shopping after. I went to Michael's a week or so ago and had a 25% off everything coupon. That was a fun trip.

I've been really busy at work this week especially so when my boss is in the office every day.

I was so exhausted last night. I went to bed early.

I left work a little early (had some comp time) and went to the grocery store on my way home. I was going to gas up the car, but the station at HEB was as much as where I usually get it, so I decided I'd just wait until today on my way home from picking up my prescription.

Got home and found that the neighbor's dog made a visit to my yard again!!!!! Grrrrr...... In fact, it was still in my yard. I looked out the back door window and it was standing on my patio. It saw me and I guess went back through the fence because when I went to get my broom, hammer and a nail, it was back in her yard. I pounded the nails that were there back in and then added another one lower into a cross stud so hopefully that will hold it. I called my neighbor again and told her the dog was back. I thought she was going to have it tied up. She said she'd have her DD take care of it. Had to go round up all the blankets and pads. It kind of chewed up one of the cat bowls too.

Got all the groceries put up and went through some e-mails after I ate my dinner. After that, I didn't have enough energy to work on anything, so I just turned the lights out and went to bed.

I slept for 9 hours last night. That felt good.

The lady that I was going to hire to clean my house called me last night to see if she could come look at my house this morning. I said yes. She got here a little early - about 8:45. I showed her around and she told me she'd charge $110!!!!!! Yikes! That's a bit high. I was paying the service $80. She said that she has a long drive to get here. Well, I don't want to pay for her gasoline. She said she had a sil that lives closer - actually over around where my sis lives and she would see if she wanted to do it. I told her I'd think about it. Then went on Groupon and bought a cleaning service for 3 months for less. I figured I'd do that for 3 months and then see what I wanted to do. Sometimes I think I can do it myself after I get everything picked up. Then I'd pay myself.

I worked on getting the house picked up and dusted this morning. Now I have to have some lunch and then clean the floors. Won't be so bad with my Shark stamp mop.

Quick check in. All's fine around here. I'm hooked up to the heart monitor - that I've name Mabel. Yep, Mabel the Monitor. Basically, it's a royal pain in the behind!!!! TOTALLY! But, I'll deal with it for the next 10 day I guess.

I did go shopping.....but didn't get as much done as I hoped. The weather was horrid! Cold, windy, and drizzling. The doctors office was smack dab downtown. I HATE driving down there because I never know where I'm going or if it's one way or whatever. Scary! Finally made it out of there and started hitting some stores. I got a little crafting stuff and that was it for the day. Just way too messy weather.

Hi Lynn, Glad that you were able to get your monitor on and do a little shopping anyway. I know what you mean about driving downtown. I hate going downtown H Town. Don't do it if I can get someone else to instead. I wouldn't have been out doing much shopping in that kind of weather either, but glad you were able to get something done to take advantage of the trip.

My DD and family came over last night and we had a nice After Christmas, Christmas dinner. We had all the same things we had back at our regular dinner and it was still so yummy. Tons of leftovers which is okay with me. I don't mind eating them at all. After dinner we watch Malificent. DD brought it over. I had not seen it yet and we all enjoyed watching it. Brought up a conversation about Once Upon a Time. I've loved the show since the start. They are all just now catching on to it and have started watching on Netflix. My DGD is the only one who is all the way caught up to the new season starting tonight. Malificent is one of the featured characters in this part of the season.

Good Afternoon! I am watching the Badger basketball game and relaxing a bit. We just went for a hike at a state park near us--a bit cold, but not too bad as the sun is shining. The decorating went well yesterday and there is more to be done this week. I might go back on Friday, but for sure Saturday morning for final details. By the way, the theme is 70's nerdy office party as the venue is a huge carpeted room that is no longer used at a business. Yes, we have some interesting props already. We are asking everyone to bring their own coffee cup for beverages that night. I can only imagine all of the attire that night! . The members of the Board are making all of the food for that night--I picked ants on a log--cream cheese with raisins on celery as well as peanut butter on celery and chips and fritoes with French onion dip! Pretty easy. Other items on the menu are things like green bean casserole, three bean salad, sloppy joes, ambrosia salad, 7 layer salad, twinkies, etc.

The surprise party was nice and even though Tim had some clues along the way, he did act surprised!

I hope you had a good weekend and a great start to March. That must mean spring is on the way soon.

Guess what it has been doing today? Snowing, that's what! Are you all surprised?? Ack. I am so tired of this. We were out in it too and it got nasty quick. We were watching people slip and slide up/down our street earlier this evening.

I'm hoping to have a better week this week. I didn't sleep well most nights last week even though I did exercise twice(!!) on our new elliptical. That's the first time getting on a machine in over 4.5 years. Aiming for 3x a week while I build up stamina.

Maggie - how are things going with SF? I hope they decide to pay for part of the storage/tow fee! Has the dog been back since you fixed the fence? That is scary that the owners are not taking responsibility and he is roaming the neighborhood. I'm glad the neighbor offered to pay for damages. You certainly shouldn't have to pay!

Jeanette - I hope your workshops went well this weekend.

Lynn - Glad you were able to get the monitor and some crafty shopping done.

Kelly - I hope Christina had an amazing audition this weekend!

Hi Shelly, Maxine, Darlene, Kel and Barb!

I forgot to post about our weekend. Yesterday was a great day. I decided to abandon the house chores and scrapped most of the day. I got 5 pages done for my scrap group's challenges. I did one on the 1st and then didn't do anything until yesterday. So I had 6 of the 75 entries and my name was drawn as the winner, wahoo! I am getting a gift certificate to MFT Stamps! This month I am aiming to get more done and not all in one day LOL. I am getting together with my local group on Saturday but will just bring a card kit and some stamps to work with. It's too hard to pre-plan pages to bring with me.

Today our sweet doggie Amber is 5!! She still acts like a puppy most days lol. No slowing down for her. We got her a new raincoat, ball and a happy birthday cookie

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I'm home again... got home in the midst of a snowstorm on Saturday night, thankfully early enough in the storm that the roads were okay. The storm overnight Saturday caused a lot of church cancellations Sunday, including ours... but by noon the temperatures had warmed up enough that the snow on the roads/walks was melting... so we took of to Indiana to pick up my new glasses. What a weird day!

Today will be busy, since we have these almost-all-day meetings at church every Monday in February and March.

I've read the thread... but am rushing through SCS as I need to get something cooked for today's luncheon at church, so I won't comment to everyone. Instead I'll just wave.

Hi friends - literally 2 seconds to check in but glad to see that Jeanette and Lynn (with her new friend Mabel!) made it home safe and sound! This is the wackiest weather! We drove to Tally in one wicked storm, too - torrential rain, wind gusts so strong we couldn't see 2" in front of us - for hours! It was terrifying! We made it there - loved the campus - she's gaga for the school - now comes the hopes for acceptance. We were bummed to learn they have 8 spots available in their BFA/MT program - whhhhhhhhat! We didnt' know that when we started it all. I snuck down the hall to the practice rooms and she nailed that audition - if she doesn't get in, it won't be because she didn't try her best. They had 440 applications, 280 auditions, 8 spots. I think the reality set in on the way home!

Happy Birthday to Amber! YAY on the furry party and puppy cookie! and congrats on your MFT win - that's awesome!

Maggie, sounds like a wonderful Christmas in March celebration! That's the best, getting together with family ♥ My dd watches OUAT - I've seen one show, just don't have time to watch tv! They are HUGE Walking Dead fans so that's always on around here, lol.

Barb, we had a bring your fave coffee mug to Bible Study a few weeks ago - the hostess took a picture of them all My favorite mug is one from Paris (not the Starbucks Paris one!) and I didn't dare bring it - if it broke, oh, I'd just cry and cry! Your nerdy party sounds funny but I'd like to hang out with the one who is bringing the Twinkies - ROFL!!
JK!

*waving to all and rushing!*

Sounds like you had a fun weekend Barb. You are brave to be going out hiking in the cold weather. I would just want to stay in and hibernate.

Hi Shelly, Maxine, Darlene, Kel and Barb!
Haven't heard anything from SF yet Kristie. I figure it will take them a week or more to actually finalize the claim.

The dog hasn't been back after the 2nd time. He was outside tonight, but I think she had it tied up at the porch because it wasn't running around the yard.

You're doing so much better than I am with the exercise. I really want to get back to walking, but the weather hasn't been good enough - either cold or rainy or both. The next 2 days are supposed to warm up, but we're also supposed to have rain.

Glad you were able to get away to your craft room and have some fun.

Happy Birthday to Amber. My Paisley turned 15 in January; Maggie Mae will be 9 this Summer and the boys, Casper and Corey will be 3 in October! Yikes! I can't believe how old they have gotten.

Welcome home Jeanette! Glad you made it home okay. Good luck with all your meetings.
