After five hours at the local Emergency room we are home and resting. Called the ambulance and they gave him some anti nausea meds and took him up to hospital, and I followed. They gave him more meds and 1.5 litres of saline via IV. Discharged him home with more meds if needed. Still not sure if it was a bug or food poisoning. Glad that is behind us. Now for a good night's sleep for us both .

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I'm whispering this morning so we won't wake Maxine and her DH. Yikes! Sorry he was so sick, Maxine!

Oh Goodness, Maxine - so glad dh is back home and resting! How very scary -- I hope you don't forget about you in all this and rest when you can, you're going to drop from exhaustion.

Morning girls - love the glittery hellos!

I'm soooooooooo far behind -- and hope everyone is well. Hopefully Rambo is back to his Rambo-unctuous self by now No kidding on how costly a specialist is! We had to take our mastiff for a cat scan (haha, just saying it sounds ironically funny!) and there was only ONE doctor in 3 counties! She literally drove up and down the state when she had a patient like Brandy was. Oh my, we could have paid a down payment on a car for what she charged, but it was the only way to know how to treat her (at that time).

Maggie, are you better by now, dear? I smiled at your post of your GDG She sounds so very, very talented and determined! It's funny you posted about FSU - my daughter's bestie is at USC right now auditioning here, LOL! We are up to our eyeballs in auditions here. DD audition for Federation on Sunday - made straight Superiors and advances on to the finals in March in Jacksonville, FL. She scored the highest marks possible in art song and her musical theater piece. She also auditions for colleges this week - Saturday is UM! I would love for her to go there ♥ But at 67K a year, there is NO WAY unless she receives a full ride, which is highly unlikely. They want here there at 12 to learn the routine and dances and songs, then has to audition at 3. Next week, we travel to Orlando for UCF. After that, FSU sometime at the end of the month. And 2 other schools that scouted her in between. I'll be Jeanette this month - travel, travel!

Victoria is improving each day - thankfully. She had a rough morning this morning, but overall, has been well since being released so it looks like with everything, some days will be good, some not. A HUGE improvement, that's for sure!

I hope everyone is doing super - Jeanette, what will you do with yourself now that you're home

Cute pics of Shelly and Ray on FB in Florida -- did he go with you to the stamp shows, too? Brave man! What a smart thing to make a vacation out of it! ♥ Hopefully adjusting back to snow and ice after palm trees and ocean won't be too difficult

Gotta dash, but sending hugs!
xo

How is he doing today Maxine? Glad that you were able to get him to see the doctor and he got some meds.

I don't know how you deal with everything you have to do Kelly. Good luck to your DD on all her auditions, etc. I hope she's able to make it into the school of her choice that won't cost you an arm & a leg.

Glad to hear that Victoria is doing better. Speaking of rest - do you EVER?

Hi girls - Thanks for all your support, prayers, and the whispering. We did sleep very well last night.

DH is much better, but a way from being 100% yet - we came home with meds so hopefully they will do the trick and finish up the upset.

While we were in ED one of our neighbours was admitted too!! Looks as though she may be there a day or so, from what I understood.

So glad to hear Victoria is doing so much better Kelly! What an incredibly busy life you lead - does your husband really know you these days ? , or do you just appear every now and again to serve him a meal??

Thankfully my girls who come to card class were all able to manage to change until Thursday this week - DH put paid to yesterday's plans!!

Looks as though I may yet have a trip to Akld on Friday for a family funeral - a cousin died on Monday, and if my brother goes up i will travel with him. Life is never dull here

I've really been out of the loop! Maxine, I hope your husband is better now and y'all are getting the much needed rest. Glad he went to the hospital and know you are too. Hope it's all under control Will be thinking of y'all.

Kelly, you're really going to be traveling! So busy and yet it's going to be so much fun. Glad Victoria is on the mend too and know that was scary.

The bursitis is getting better. I've been trying to keep up with commenting but could only do a couple at a time then have to stop. It's better today though. I'd made an appointment with the doctor for Thurs. but will probably cancel after seeing what tomorrow brings. Rambo is still on steroids but will be weaning him off next week. Then I guess we'll find out what happens. At least he's walking now so that's a plus.

Shelly, saw some of the pictures of y'all in Florida. Looks so pretty and wish we all could have gone.

Ditto, Barb!

(((HUGS, Maxine!)))

Lynn, I'm glad the bursitis is not as bad!

Kelly, my goal for this week is to get ALL of the plans finished for next week's 11-hour training workshop that I'm leading so that next week and the following week I can work on the Bible School training conference I'll be teaching. OH, and I was able to get an appointment for the eye doctor on Thursday - in Indiana... so I'll be gone all day that day. LOL!

Maggie, how are you doing? Is your throat all better?

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I'm making progress on my workshop preparations, but it's going to be another day of work Work WORK for me.

But I miss playing with my toys.

Shelly - all the way to Indiana is the closest city. (I didn't want to do small town). It's also the closest Chipotle and the closest Starbucks. And it's only 1 1/2 hours away... a piece of cake, says the one who goes all the way to our state capital to see her regular doctor - and that's 3 1/2 hours away. Can you see a trend here? I don't doctor locally.

Question: When I was commenting on some blogs this morning it looks like the letters are being chopped off at the top. Also when I wrote a new post for another card. Is anyone else having that problem? I can still read what I comment but just barely.

Maxine, glad to hear that DH is doing better on his meds. Glad that you were able to get him to the hospital. So sorry to hear about your neighbor. I hope she's going to be okay. And also sorry about the funeral for your cousin. Sending up prayers of peace and comfort for all of you. I hope you don't have to travel that alone.

So what is the reason that you're going to blow off going to your doctor? It would be best if you could keep the appointment and get some help for yourself. I hope Rambo will be doing okay after coming off the steroids. Glad that he is able to get around.

You are getting to be as busy as Kelly! A lot of traveling in your weeks to come.

Not quite all better Jeanette, but hopefully soon.

This morning I had my appointment with the throat specialist. She does NOT think I have reflux and if that is a question, then she said that she'd have to test me for it. It's not something that you can just guess at. She put a camera down into my throat (numbed it first) and took pictures all around. My throat is still pretty irritated looking and swollen in places (like where my tonsil tissue was). I had them out back when I was about 20. But if I still had them, I'd probably say I had tonisillitis. She called in a scrip for Bactrin for it. Said the Clindamycin that I was on was not the right antibiotic for this. So I will pick that up on my way home from work and get started on it and hopefully in a few days be feeling better. The pain moved from the right side to the left side last night and today. Weird.

Last night I went up to the church with some of my Family History Consultants to show the Young Women how to do Indexing (Name Extraction). Lucky I had the consultants and the leaders to help with them. I kept running from one question to the next all night. We were only there for an hour, but all the girls were able to log on and get set up and actually do some work. 2 of the girls have done before and knew what they were doing so they were racing against each other to see who could do the most.

Got home and took my shower. Didn't get anything else done and tonight I have book group, so that will be a late night and I have to be up early for PT tomorrow.

I am creeping in here slowly - it was definitely food poisoning and I fell to it last night.... it was a rather violent night.
DH has spent the day in bed he is so exhausted, I have been up but sitting quietly most of the day.
So much for a full week - I spent the first half hour after I was up cancelling appointments
I am heading back to my book and nursing duties, although I must say I have basically only provided some fluids and a banana for him, and an apple and fluids for me - the scales were most polite to me this morning - gotta look on the bright side

Good Morning!

I'm sending up prayers for Maggie and her poor throat - and hoping your antibiotics are just what you need. Sometimes it's finding the right one to target the issue, and hopefully they will find the culprit. That's fascinating about the family history! I bet you have learned so much.

And prayers for Maxine's hubby - bless your heart. You'll need more than an apple to keep you going, my friend! LOL on the scales yes, my husband and I are like 2 ships passing in the night! Tis a busy season, we hope to relax sometime in April Any updates on Jordan? I sure hope they are able to serve justice as well - sometimes they have to take a little more time to make it right, no mistakes - you know?

And while I'm at it, a prayer for Jeanette's eyeballs!
I think if you find a good doctor, keep him/her no matter the distance!

And Lynn, bless your heart - don't know how you craft with bursitis! You sure crank out the cutest cards.

Hi Shell! Good to see you 'wave-ing' at us from Florida - hee hee! A little pun this morning!

shout out to Barb, Kel, Kristie, Darlene ............ !!!

Maxine, I hope you're feeling better now. Know exactly what you went though since the same thing happened to me before - and it's not pretty at all! You literally think you're doing to die. At least it's all behind you now (no pun intended) and you're on the road to recovery.

Maggie, I cancelled the doctors appointment because it was (and is) feeling 100 per cent better. I've had it several times before and sometimes I can take care of it before it gets so bad I had to see the doctor. I went ahead and made the appointment just in case but thank goodness I got it under control. I not one to go to the doctor EVER unless I just have to! If I went with every ache and pain I'd probably be living in his office! LOL! Um.....may not be a bad thing either because he's such a cutie! Anyway, I'm fine.

Shelly, I know you're probably having fun with Katie right now! So glad she was able to come home for a while. Enjoy your time together.

I am heading back to my book and nursing duties, although I must say I have basically only provided some fluids and a banana for him, and an apple and fluids for me - the scales were most polite to me this morning - gotta look on the bright side
So sorry you got sick also Maxine. Maybe just a stomach bug? What did you both eat that would cause food poisoning at different times? My DD in CA went to a Red Robin last year all except the youngest DGD and they all got deathly ill and ended up at the ER that night. It was so horrible. They won't ever go back to Red Robin again.

Thanks Kelly. I am feeling better. I hope tomorrow morning the sore throat will only be a distant memory.

Aren't you due for a trip this way sometimes soon?

Glad to hear that you are feeling better Lynn.

Maggie, my DD did some research on food poisoning and meat can react as quickly as 2-6 hours or as long as 4 days - we had sausages for dinner Monday evening, and DH had three, I had one as I am not that keen on them anyway..... even the Dr at ER said it could be food poisoning. I was uncomfortable for a couple of days before it hit me.

We are gradually getting better DH slept most of yesterday, and on chatting with him today, he had not realised I had been ill too (I went and slept in another room for a couple of nights) - he must have been really quite "out of it". At least being deaf and not wearing his hearing aides at night he would avoid most of the 'sound effects' that were around him. .

Default Hello!

Ahhhh to catch up! I will head off to blog hop after dropping in here.

Maxine- glad it sounds like you are on the mend! I had a touch of food poisoning once- the night before my sister's rehearsal dinner. I think it was sausage or pork- we went to a Cubs game and I got sick after we ate out after the game........ That sounds dreadful, hubby must have been really out of it!

Lynn- sounds like you are on the mend as well! I hope the boys are both improving as well..... Is Jim OK now? And, hope the specialist for the dog does not break the bank!

We are back- I had to make a DT project when I got back- for today- I could not get it all done before I left. I stayed up late- we were on an early schedule in Florida, so I was propping my eyelids open with toothpicks! Not really, bit it was hard to stay up.

Off to hop= and hello to all!

Shelly

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I was gone all day yesterday - went to the city in neighboring state - for eye appointment. BTW, my DH says I'm getting better with age. My eyesight improved somewhat from the last visit - which was 3 years ago. Enough that I needed new glasses. Yikes! That was a heap of change. (Enough to have paid half of what I still owe on my mission trip to the Dominican Republic.) But I'll be sporting lovely new glasses when I go so I can see all there is to see.

And now I'm all confused about what day it is, because Brock is getting ready to go to work - BUT he doesn't work on Fridays. EEK! He came home on Tuesday, all excited about something he'd heard at work. They are having a Valentine Party today - which means pizza (which he REFUSES to eat)... but he wanted to go.... because he'll get to "dance with Kelly." He's talked about it constantly since Tuesday. So off to work he goes today, which really means.............. he's going dancing.

Oh my! I'm sorry you got so violently ill, too, Maxine! Gentle hugs to you and your DH! (I giggled about the hearing aids, BTW)

Maggie, yikes! The doctor is being thorough, which is good, since you've had this throat thing going on too long! Get better!

Shelly, welcome home!

Lynn, I am sorry blogger gave you fits. I've not had fits with it - because I haven't had time to go there. LOL!

Kelly, I do love my doctors.

Barb, hope you're doing well!

Waving at all the other addicts!

Good morning, girls! I think I look like Jeanette's blinkie, too!

If all goes as planned Maggie, I'll be there this summer! My brother isn't available the week we have Spring Break so we're pushing it back to the summer, which is even better ♥ DD18 will be in Nashville over Spring break, not with me though - I wish we could have swung it, but it was too expensive and we were all just there in December. We must have had some foresight because I can't even imagine the doctor's bills that will be rolling in for Victoria in the next few weeks! Yikes! We have insurance but a high deductible - which, of course, rolled over in the new year so we have to start all over and pay, pay, pay!

Welcome back, Shel!

And feel better, Maxine!

Waving to all!

Y'all want to hear a sweet Brock story?

Our Brock has a man-sized crush on Kelly. LOL! He was so cute this morning - now you have to understand. This is Brock, who is somewhat monotone in speech and doesn't always communicate well, but loves life! Well................. he came home yesterday with a cute little purple heart/Valentine. It had his name and a sticker on it. I just figured someone had given it to him. Imagine my surprise when I found that same "Valentine" inside his lunch box when I put his fruit drink and sandwich in there this morning. Brock puts the other things in his lunch box the night before and I add the cold things in the morning. Hmmmmmmmmmm... wondered what was up with that "Valentine."

So... it's time for Brock's pill... he brings the bottle to me. I open it and hand him his pill. He says thank you. (Our Brock does love routine.) Then he pulls that same purple "Valentine" out of his pocket and says something about Kelly. I didn't quite get it - not unusual. I've become adept at asking question to determine what he is talking about.

Brock, did Kelly give you that Valentine?

(He gives me that "you've got to be kidding, Mom" look.)

Brock, are you going to give the Valentine to Kelly.

BINGO! Yes............. Brock plans to give Kelly his Valentine.

However, that's not the end of the story. When my DH got up I was telling him this story. He explained further - apparently he had spoken to Brock's workplace yesterday and they told him the details, but since I was gone all day he hadn't thought to share them with me. That pretty little purple "Valentine" is in reality Brock's DANCE CARD for the Valentine party. They made them at work and told the "Brock's" that they could/would give their dance card to whoever they wanted to dance with.

Brock wants to dance with his "current" love of his life/workplace - Kelly!

Oh, and lest you wonder about Brock's intentions... Kelly isn't just anybody. She's the boss at the site where he works.

That's good to hear - I am sure that a 'work' situation that gives their 'employees' Dance Cards would have made a wonderful day for them.
