Sending up prayers for Victoria, Kelly. Hopefully getting her in right away, she can get started on some meds and get back to being well. I've read and heard that tiredness is one of the symptoms of thyroid issues.

Oh Kelly! How scary for all of y'all. At least you're getting her in to the doctor in the morning and they can help I know. We'll be thinking about her for sure!

Saw the primary doc this morning and he's just sending me to a specialist - which is best I'm sure. All the tests done at the ER were good so no idea what's going on. Nope, don't drink coffee, seldom drink tea, and seldom any chocolate either! I do drink Diet Coke but get the caffeine free kind. So......I guess it could be stress since the last couple of weeks have been stressful. We'll see but am sure I'll be just fine. Wish they gave a pill out for mojo now! LOL!

Default Hi

Boo. Not really- just trying to make you all smile a little

Lynn- geepers girlfriend- you need to behave! I am sure they will work you up- maybe give you a Holtor- monitor you wear for days/weeks to monitor what is going on....maybe give you some meds.

Kelly- scary your daughters Thyroid is out of whack- people often get Thyroid backwards- when the levels are low- it means your thyroid is OVER active, so your metabolism is revved up- heart rate fast, you loose weight, etc.... When the number is too high, you are UNDER active- tired, sluggish, dry itchy skin, gain weight. There is another disorder where it goes up and down- and they have to determine if that is happening in the long run (Hashimoto's) . Glad the doc got you in right away too. Bless her heart!

Kel- so glad your Mom is close by so she can help you out. I remember those days of dwadling when someone would offer to take babies- some days- no worries, other days - slow slow moving I was! Hope you are felling better soon : )

Maxine- glad to hear Jordan is progressing- sounds like patience and faith will be 2 words you will know well with his misfortune. Sounds like even with the kids out of the house, you still have visitors that will occupy some of your time. How did your hubby's appt go??? You'll have to share some pics of roses with us again- you had some gorgeous flowers last year!

Maggie- hope your throat is better. We have friends in Tampa- and I hear there is a rubber stamp show there the first Sat in Feb., so will be going to that as well. Hubby thinks Florida would be a nice place to visit in the winter to get away from the Chicago weather. I would need to quit working if he wants to do that- cannot take a month or two off.....

Barb- sorry about the Packers. Our friends in Tampa are hugs Packers fans..... He is from Ill too.... I felt bad- esp for Aaron Rodgers. Isn't it wild about the deflated balls the Patriots used?

Kristie- sounds like you are getting lots done. Oh it would be hard to have to put away the village and all of the Christmas stuff... Hope your organizing and decompressing is going well!

I had my yearly physical today, did a little grocery shopping, came home did a little piano and went blog hopping finally! Ahhh nice to catch up and get inspired. You are such a talented bunch of ladies!

Waving hi to anyone I missed- going to bed early- midnight- have a busy day tomorrow : )

Shelly

Hey girlies -- what a long, exhausting day. We've been at the hospital allllll day. From 9:45 am! We went from the pediatrician to the endocrinologist to the lab to nuclear medicine - but! At least we have all our answers and what to do next.

Shel, I have Hashimotos .. thyroid issues big time and she inherited this from me Only she was dx with Graves Disease At least we know it's treatable and what to do next. She's been a mess for weeks and weeks. Her resting heart rate today was 119. Hello. We actually go back tomorrow for the 24 hour intake (following the iodine test from today) She was a trooper through the whole thing and actually only complained when the nurse did her FINGER prick! Of all things! So onward we go ...... thanks for the prayers and good thoughts.

Now how is LYNN!????

And how is Jordan??

I'm hopelessly behind in the thread! I can't even begin to tell you the massive running around - it's been unreal. Had to take my dd's Hamster to the vet (yes, HAMSTER!) That was embarrassing. But he had to go - he's not eating and acting sickly. OMG - have you see the new CHA Lawn Fawn Hamster stamp set? A must have -- oh the cards I could make for her! Except I'm on a buying freeze - LOL! Maybe soon

HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope that the specialist will be able to figure out what is going on with you. LOL! I wish there were pills for a lot of things. Hope you have a stress-free day today.

Thanks Shelly. The throat is a little bit better today. It seems to be getting better one day at a time. Each day is a little better. I hope by Sunday it will be completely gone.

Florida is a nice place to visit and to live. I have GF's and family over there and they all love it. Are you looking for a time share? You could still do that even with you continuing to work.

Maggie--I too am glad you are getting better. I got some kind of the crud--flu, bronchitis, cold, whatever--right around Christmas and got a round of antibiotics on the 26th. I still was coughing last week, so I sent my doctor a message and asked him to prescribe something--I had gone to Urgent Care in December and followed up 2 weeks ago with my regular doc. He put me on a z-pack on Monday and I feel so much better. Very little cough left, so that did it!

Sending up prayers for Victoria that she will be able to have the right meds to help her combat this disease. I had never heard of Hashimoto's until I saw an ad on TV from a clinic that treated it.

Aw... poor hamster. Hope he's doing better too. Did the vet give him some meds too? How are the turtles?

Isn't that funny how things work out. Glad you are doing better on the Z-pack. That's what I was on first that wasn't strong enough to knock this out of me. Now I'm on Clindamycin and it's working although slowly day by day. I hope by Sunday it's all gone.

Kelly, so glad they figured out what's going on with your daughter and are treating it now. Know how scary that had to have been not knowing anything. Hang in there momma!

Rambo goes to the specialist tomorrow - so say a little doggie prayer for him.

Good Morning Ladies. We are headed to Green Bay today as I won a certificate for a night in a hotel there from a golf outing last July. The weather is not cooperating for snowshoeing and not sure about hiking either as it probably will be pretty muddy, so we are not sure what is on the agenda. We will stop at Lambeau Field, home of the Packers, as they have done remodeling since we were last there a few year ago.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Barb and Shelly, hope y'all are having a good traveling weekend! Hope your parents are doing well Shelly. I know you worry about them with them so far away.

I made cards all day today! Whoop!!!! I ended up making 3 which is probably a record of some sort for me!

Rambo went to the specialist yesterday in the city. They're pretty sure he has polyarthritis. Either from a tick bite (Lupus) or just because his body is having it. He's off steroids so they want to wait a week to make sure they're all out of his system and then they'll do a knee/elbow tap to drain fluid from there for a positive diagnosis. So, that's where we are right now. They can treat it - if this is what it is - but he'll have it for the rest of his life. Poor little guy can barely get around right now so we're hoping they can start treating him when we go back in.

Ohh Lynn - gentle hugs to Rambo

Latest on Jordan - he is still having periods of serious confusion, but is physically well enough to be moved to a rehab unit away from the main hospital campus. It is more "home-like" there, and a more normal life can be lived whilst recovering and still under medical supervision. There is no prognosis at this point - that will come later when he is more recovered.

Gotta fly - it's 31.3 oC here and we are baking!

Hi ladies!
ACK! We are expecting a blizzard here starting sometime tomorrow!! We are prepared (as much as we can be, I think) but I'm not sure I really want to be snowed in. Last time we had a blizzard in 2013 it was over the weekend so it didn't seem so bad. I'm hoping for early release tomorrow and no work on Tuesday...it's rare they call work off (last time was for a hurricane in 2012) but I think this may warrant it or I may use PTO days as I don't want to get stuck somewhere.

We spent yesterday clearing out some of the spare room, although that entailed mostly moving boxes downstairs to the dining room for me to go through them. We were going to work on it today but instead we went grocery shopping and then to Kohl's to use our Kohl's cash. It was nice to be out and about considering we may be stuck in for a day or two soon.

Thinking of all that have health concerns and hoping you (or your children/relatives/pets) are on the road to healing.

Lookie! Lookie! I'm home again (until Friday, when I leave for a 2-day trip)......... I'm a little sleepy this morning, though. (I've been up since 4:15! SHEESH! Why is that time even on a clock???)

It is so much fun to read and catch up here in the threads!

Yikes! Prayers for all the sickly ones - two-legged and four-legged. Like Lynn said, we are beginning to sound like a bunch of sick chickens around here........ so I won't even attempt to name every one who's under the weather. Just know that I am praying!

Kristie, stay safe in the storm!

Shelly, have a safe trip home!

My trip was great! I'm now home for a few days - I leave again for two days the end of the week. So much to do here at home, too. Yikes!

Waving to everyone!!!

Hi ladies -- stopping by quickly! I hoped to spare the morning but was called in to assist the teacher unexpectedly - yay, home for a whole HOUR now

I agree with Lynn - we're either sounding like an infirmary in here or in need of a trip to the funny farm!

Good Afternoon Ladies--late check in for me today....................AND, not because it is a Monday. I had stamp class this morning and a few things to do around the house before and since I have been home. We had a nice time in Green Bay and did some shopping at the Packer Pro Shop! We had hoped to go for a hike yesterday morning as the temps on Saturday were in the low 40's. We woke up to lower temps and high winds-- 17 degrees with wind chill of -1, so we came home early!

Have a wonderful start to the last week of January. Those of you on the Northeast--Stay Safe!

Bet you had fun at stamp class! Sorry that the weather wasn't cooperative over the weekend. That was pretty cold.

Poor Rambo. Supposedly Paisley has arthritis and I have given her some meds for it in the past, but she doesn't always want to eat them (like treats) and she doesn't really act like she has it. Doesn't limp or have problems jumping up on a chair or the couch, so I don't worry about her. I hope that any meds Rambo gets will make life easier for him.

Good show on making 3 cards. I could do that if they were all the same.

Hope you guys stay safe up there Kristie! Hope you'll be able to get some organizing and unpacking done while you're snowed in.

Hello from the Blizzard. So far, so good, we still have power and internet.

It's snowing horizontally, and visibility is about 20 feet. It's much worse south down in Massachusetts. Our winds are "only" 25-35 with gusts around 45. It's much worse along the seacoast. Some towns have been evacuated due to flooding at high tide.

Prayers for you and your loved ones, human and furry. Sounds like they are needed.

Kristi, hope that you are staying safe in the storm.

hi girls! Darlene, so glad you are doing well in Stormageddon - the news looks awful! I see they are canceling mass transit and no one is allowed to be on the roads in Mass and parts of NY. Very scary!

We have the stomach flu (dd1 and dd16 sick from her medications that they've given her so it looks like the yuckies are staying around here - It needs to just not go through my house! I cannot get sick. I just can't. We will take another trip to the Dr it seems to see what to do for dd16 with her meds making her so sick. ay yi yi.

LOL on the Twinkies, Lynn! That's probsbly how my kids would be if you showed up with a box of Krispy Kreme though - LOL.

I'm back to the school today to help out - my son's teacher is out and having gall bladder surgery today. We're taking turns working with them on their huge gifted program to presented to States in February and they are a mess. No where near ready.

Time to scoot - stay safe out there!

Kelly, so generous of you to help out at your son's school while the teacher is out. I sure do hope that the awful germs keep their distance from you! There are some tough ones out there. And extra prayers for your daughter and her medication issues. That's so hard.

Friends: I have a question. What white CS do you use for coloring images? I have used Conqueror Diamond White for a few years, am out and have discovered that it is discontinued. I need to order something else.

Thanks for any tips!

Darlene--do you have a Mike's close to you? Their Recollections White is good--comes in110# and works well for coloring. Use a 40 or 50% off and it is around $6.50 for a pack of 100. Here is a link and it also can be ordered online. Recollections Heavyweight Cardstock Paper Value Pack Carol got me hooked on it--pricewise and I really like it. Now Terry and Kelly and Jeanette also use it. It also comes in Ivory.

HA!! I know that CS - and the price is great. Thanks! I haven't tried coloring on it though so it's good to know that all of you like it.

Hey, Darlene! Glad you're ok with that horrible storm up there!

I use the Neenah (Spelling???) for coloring with Copics. I use the Recollections - heavy stuff - for everything else with white. Haven't ever tried coloring with Copics on it though. I'm not crazy about the colored card stock (Recollections) from Michae's as it's so light - but love the white heavy stuff!

We have just had an afternoon of high humidity, and then late in the afternoon almost an hour of continuous thunder before it finally rained for about twenty minutes, including some hail at one point. Oh did we need that rain!!

Hope all the snow has not been as bad as predicted for you girls in the north east.

hugs and waves from down under

*waving!*

Darlene -- ditto on the Mike's Recollections HEAVY cardstock - that's my #2 go to cardstock. I won't buy the other recollections, not even for background paper - it's too flimsy and finicky.

My #1 is always PTI white, but with s/h it's not a great buy for your money ... but it's still my very very VERY favorite in the whole world I buy it in bulk and add in other colors and toss it all in one shipment and the cost goes down considerably! I'm so understocked in cardstock, I have to check to see what I need to order now - hee hee! I did buy a pack of Neenah something on Target for just pennies - found it on the clearance rack. I don't even remember what it was, but it was great!
