GASP! *Covering my eyes at Lynn's post!* And in that case, don't look at my blog today! hee hee!

I finally made blog rounds - whew! I'm out of practice!

I know, S'Bux isn't for everyone - my dd's wont' touch the stuff and hate when I have the Keurig on at home I learned to pump it into my veins in college but when Bux opened, it was like manna from heaven! My dad couldn't stand it either and when he lived with us before he passed, he learned to just deal with me being there or the drive thru and always called it my Froo-Froo coffee!

I'm sorry your going bananas and your dh is awaiting healing - that's the hard part, the waiting. I hope it heals on it's own and he finds comfort and you find peace!

Maggie, I could deal with 48*!!! I MISS MISS MISS the snow already We laid in it til our jackets and bibs were soaked - played and had a ball - then went inside and dried everything and then ran back out again!

Morning, everyone!

Saw our primary doctor today and he looked at the xray and asked if they other doctor told us that not only was there possibly a hairline fracture BUT also severe arthritis AND a separated/torn ligament!!!!!!!!!! Geeze!!!!! He's giving it one week (in which I KNOW I'll be in the looney bin) and if it's not better then he goes to a hand specialist. I need a vacation!!!!

Jeanette, don't know how you get everything done that you do now. Upcoming trips sound nice but know you're busy.

Kelly, you're always busy! I can just see all of y'all rushing around in the mornings getting ready for school. No wonder you stop at Starbucks! LOL! Oh, I had my very first ever stop at Starbucks when I was at my daughters before Christmas. I won't even touch coffee but she talked me into getting some kind of peppermint cocoa or something. To be honest, I wasn't impressed! I know, I'm an outcast now! LOL!

Barb, glad you're feeling better - and you too Kristi! Maggie, are you feeling better now? I saw on your blog about the lozenges! Those must be magic!

Hope everyone else is doing good.
Wow! Your poor DH. He's had the arthritis for awhile, but did he tear the ligament when he hit the table or had he done that before? What is he doing for it besides putting ice on it? I can't see how it can get much better in a week especially if he has severe arthritis. That's not going away. I guess I'll sit in the corner with Lynn and Maxine.

I don't drink any kind of coffee at all so Starbucks has never been a big deal for me.

I'm still blowing my nose and my sinus is still sore, but seems a little better. My poor nose though is all raw even though I use Lotion tissues. Those Silver Lozenges are MAGIC! I wish I had known about them a long time ago I can't wait until I get my order of them.

I also agree about Starbucks Lynn - the once I have been there I thought it highly over rated, so we are both exiles from the SB fan club on here .

Jeanette you have reminded me I need to get down the few decorations I have out...

Waving to you all from sunny down under
Isn't it terrible. You get one thing fixed and then something else goes wrong.

It's so funny about taking down the decorations because I always forget one thing to get put away and this year I was so proud of myself that I got it all down and packed away and didn't forget anything. That is, until I went out the back door the other day and there hanging right next to it was a Christmas decoration that I had forgotten about.

I've made a lot of progress today, though... so that's good. Took down the decorations/trees in all three bedrooms and the foyer, most of the kitchen and front porch, and part of the living room. Whew!

Kristie, I hear you! I'm wondering why I have this many trees, too... tonight! But in 8-9 months I'll be anxious to get them all out again.

Lynn, all three of these trips I'm going to are either training workshops or working meetings. There will be little time for fun. But I do love what I'm doing!!!

Kelly, thank you! My DD is leaning toward returning to Alaska next year, but no ready to decide for sure yet.

Barb, I'm glad you're feeling better!

Lynn, oh my! Did you really say THAT in Kelly's presence??????????????? Tee Hee!!! We'll say it's from the pressure of being a nurse and nearly in the looney bin.

Maggie, it is so cold in much of our country. I'm considering - seriously - going on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic this summer, so I've put the weather for the DR on my phone already. I love it! It's in the 80's there... can I go now??????????

Waving at everyone else!
I don't know how you have the time and energy to put up and take down all those trees. I'd have to have a storage facility where I could just keep them decorated and wrapped in cellophane until the next year.

LOL! I'd say you should come to Texas, but it's COLD here too!

Even though your trips are working ones, it'll be nice to get away and be other people. I know it's a lot of work getting ready since you have to get your blog posts done before you go.

And Maggie, too - hee hee!

Ladies, I am SO excited -- for me, this was a really big deal!
Lookie, lookie!

My daughter and I sat down for a little while and she figured out the tabs for me to finally clean up my blog - woohoo!
Now I have the little tabs at the top that I haven't been able to figure out for forever and my blog is finally looking decent (and manageable!)

Now I'm off to finish a very late book that's needing reviewed! See you tomorrow - with my STARBUCKS, heehee!

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Well, it's happened - second day in a row - my coffee pot quit brewing halfway through the process. Then it turned off. I turned the button on again and it finished brewing. Sheesh! I guess I have a 2-step coffee-making system. LOL!

Oh, and guess what............ I woke to a dusting of snow this morning.

Maggie, you made my day when you spoke of the decoration you missed - that happened to me, too. I was exhausted last night - but so pleased that I had managed to get EVERYTHING down and boxed up in a record-breaking 2 days. And DH had even gotten all the boxes in our storage area. Whew! Then I sat down - and made the mistake of looking up. Hanging from the ceiling was our Morrovian star, given to us by a missionary friend years ago. I asked DH if he thought it would be okay to keep it up all year.

Kelly, woo hoo for daughters! I'm so glad yours helped you fix your blog the way you wanted it!

Barb is looking good there at her computer........... giggle! I love it! Barb, did you have fun yesterday?

Maxine, sounds like you slipped that one by our Kelly. We'll keep your secret!

Waving to Lynn, Shelly, Kristie, Kel, Darlene............. hmmmmmmmmmmm... anyone I'm forgetting?

Look who I found this morning:

It sure is cold again here today--we have quite a few schools closed west and south of us. Milwaukee and Waukesha schools are open, however 90 miles south of us, Chicago and many suburbs are closed! It is the wind chills that are causing the concerns. It is -6 right now here, with the wind chill of -29--brrrrrrrr.

I played all afternoon yesterday in the stamp room and plan to get inky again today--happy place, here I come!

Good Morning!

Jeanette, I think it's a great idea to have the star up all year long We had a pine garland up in the den (the second "tv" living room) that I took a liking to It looked like it belonged and wasn't Christmas-y after I removed the bows so hey, instant dcor! LOL!
Glad you got it all done. I packed all ours up, especially since we were treeless in this house, and sent it out with dh to the shed. Done, done, done.

Now we are gearing up for travels. Like you, we leave next week for my daughter's All-State Choral Competition - Maggie, maybe your DGD has that too over in Cali? Florida's is next week. She made it into the coveted Reader's Choir. Then it's travel to colleges and meetings and interviews and then later on it's auditions and the colleges are all over Florida, not a single one is next to the other!

Heard we will be in the 50s tomorrow - YAY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay warm up there all of you in that crazy weather!

wow! Your blog looks so neat and clean. I hope to get around to visit everyone tonight. I worked on a DT card last night and I'm having trouble how to design the layout. It's not my usual image and I was lucky that I found some dp that I could use with it. Just need to do a little embellishment which the image doesn't lend itself to.

So glad that I could bring a smile to your face Jeanette. Oh, my decoration is still up too. Haven't taken it down yet. Maybe I'll wait until the end of the month and see if the kids notice when them come over for dinner.

It's supposed to get down to 28 tonight, but so far they are not predicting any white stuff for us here. I went out when I got home last night and covered all the flowers and bushes except for my gardenia. It doesn't seem to mind the cold temps. My trumpet tree has blooms on it though and I don't want it to freeze back. Also my Milkweed has been growing again. They are long and lanky though so I cut some of the stems back about half way and put the tops in some water to see if they will root. Also put my Christmas cactus under a shrub and covered them up. 2 of them have a ton of blooms that about to bloom out.

I did hear that on the news this morning that it was the wind chills that were keeping some schools closed so kids didn't have to stand outside waiting for the buses to take them to school.

That is so weird. I tried to do a quote on Kelly's post, but it brought up just a blank screen.

Not sure my DGD in CA has any competitions that she's going to. I haven't heard although they have quite a few college trips planned and they are mostly all out of state. One reason that my DD didn't want her going on the Drama trip to NYC besides the cost. My DGD here in TX goes to State in February, but it is just the Choir director and the 3 girls that are going - no parents. Here and in CA, the Choir they all wanted was Madrigal. Both my DGD's were in that choir.

We'll only be in the 40's tomorrow and then rain comes on Friday through the weekend. Not looking forward to that.

Maggie - your beautiful card arrived this morning - it's gorgeous!! Love all those little details you have going there - especially that gorgeous lace!! Thank you so much.

Kelly it sounds as though you will be spending most of this semester on the road with your DD!! Remember to take your colouring gear and some images so you can colour while she is in interviews and auditions - you will need some therapy by the sounds of it - other than Starbucks that is . Love the look of your blog - my DD also told me what to do last year when I was visiting - then I came home and bit the bullet and did it. That was scary!

Sounds as though it is time you came and visited me Barb - the heat here is wonderful when I hear of your temps not gloating or anything......

I have packed away my decorations this morning - including the bells that were up all year!!

Hugs to Jeanette, travel safely, Shelly, Lynn - hope you are still sane, Kel and Darlene.

Sounds like everyone is traveling! That's great and hope all of y'all have wonderful trips.

We're still plugging along around here. I haven't completely lost it but get closer by the minute! LOL! To top it all off - Rambo got up this morning and was limping with a bad swollen leg! It's catching!!!!!!! Yikes! Took him to the vet and he has a bad sprain. From what we have no idea because he was fine when he went to bed last night. SO, most of my day has been catering to Rambo and Jim both! The looney bin is starting to look better by the minute! Jim's wrist is actually feeling a little better today. Keeping it wrapped and in a sling (which he hates of course), and also icing it. The swelling is finally getting a little better too.

All else is fine here. Kelly, your daughter needs to come see me and fix my blog now! I wish I had the know-how to do things like that. My luck, I'd try it and the whole thing would disappear!

It's been 82 degrees here today - 55% humidity and now a thunderstorm .

Oh Lynn, not Rambo too give him a rub from me - and forget the looney bin - it's really no better than two dependant males - at least you can reason with them most of the time........

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Apparently our internet does not like the frigid temperatures we're having. We had no internet for hours and hours yesterday. It's finally back this morning. Truthfully, I'm surprised we have it this morning - since it's still barely above zero.

Speaking of temperatures... I'm flying to Birmingham Alabama tomorrow - warmer, right? I checked the temperature there just moments ago. It's 9 degrees in Birmingham! Then after being home for a day, I'll fly to Dallas next trip - and just moments ago it was 18 degrees in Dallas! YIKES......... or should I say Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

No traveling here for awhile. All I want to do is hibernate like a bear. Wake me when it's Spring.

Oh, poor Rambo. Hope not serious. Not sure if I shared this, but it was a couple years ago with my Reggiecat (who passed last year). One night I was rudely awakened by her howling! I got up and went out into the computer room and she had gotten one of her back legs caught between 2 spokes of a chair that she had been laying on. Not sure how she did that, but it took awhile until it healed up and I had to keep her in a crate for awhile to keep her from jumping up on anything. Poor thing. She was not happy about that.

Glad that DH's hand is looking much better.

Ugh! Sorry about the cold weather loss of Internet. I hate when that happens. Too bad you are not flying anywhere where it's much warmer than where you are now. At least you know how to pack.

Sending ya'll some of this!!!!!!

Oh Lynn, when it rains, it pours! Poor Rambo! I hope both of your 'boys' heal up quickly and comfortably!

Max, you all have summer weather right now? I know it's opposite of ours - I think! (well not ours as in MINE - we're summer year round, lol!) I know what you mean about not being 'techy' - I'm an absolute disaster with anything tech related and am blessed to have teenagers in the house. Starbucks will definitely be in my traveling future! I forgot to mention when going through the redelivered holiday hold mail, your gorgeous calendar! It's gracing my kitchen wall ~ thank you sooooooo much! And a beautiful card from Maggie just arrived today -- so talented, thank you, my friend! I love it ♥

Funny you mentioned about the coloring on the road! I was actually coloring a swap at my son's Honor Roll once and a really little girl sitting next to me asked if I needed any help. She said she was 'real good at stayin' in the lines!' It was SOOOO cute!!!

Maggie, I'm so excited to see where your DGD choses to study! I was telling Chrissy about her on our trip and she's in such a similar boat. We're still up to our eyeballs in scholarship ap and a few are talent based. She sent a video into one of the colleges - literally NO MORE THAN 30 seconds! How can they hear anyone in such a short time? they said that's all they need and they knew what they were listening for. Okay then. She did get a call back and they offered her an audition based on that - I'd still be clearing the frogs from my throat in 30 seconds, LOL!!!! So, New York is not happening for DGD - did I read that right?

Where is Shelly???????????? Seems like we haven't seen her or heard from her - is she traveling or just working too hard

We know Barb is playing in the snow and making snow forts to sell her ice pops, and Jeanette is flying in a jet instead of driving it, so hopefully everyone is super well ♥

Can sure use the sunshine - thanks Kelly.

Glad that your card arrived safely.

It is so amazing to be talking about your DD and my DGD regarding their career choices. I did see one of Amanda's videos and yes, it was very short. That's great that she got a call back. I haven't talked to DD about any of their traveling plans. I don't think they'll go anywhere until end of February or March - around Spring Break. I seriously doubt that she will go to New York. It is sooooooooooooooooo expensive there.

Shelly is traveling. She was taking Stephi back to school. Saw some photos yesterday on FB. They hit the bad weather and had a long drive with the bad roads.

Default Hi

WOW- where have I been? Whew- busy nutty schedule this past week! And what Maggie said! I took Stephi back yesterday (Wednesday). I checked the weather in East Lansing, but not in the middle of the ride. She has gone to this school for 4 years and we have never hit such a bad "Lake effect" snowstorm! Took me 7 hours to get up to MSU- usually takes 3 hrs 45 minutes to get there. I chose not to come home in the snowstorm plus dark..., so I called in sick to work and drove home today- well, I hit snow on this side of the lake, and 80/94 got backed up by a jack knifed semi, so it took 8 hours! I was planning on going to go to Ky this weekend to see my folks- but just cannot do it! Just cannot get back in a car for hours tomorrow!

I had no toothbrush, change of clothes, meds- nothing.....So, I did pick up a few things in Michigan- gotta brush my teeth!

Whew- took me a while to catch up on the board.

Jeanette- safe travels. DR sounds great- I have never been there- hear it is a good place for mission trips- sad too to see the poverty.
Katie is on year 3- she had a fun fun year the first year she was gone. If she had gone to the city she is in now in China, she would have come back after a year She is feeling pretty lonely there this year..... She is trying to be more social- sometimes, you have to work harder to find friends......

Lynn- so very sorry I was not around when Jim got injured- or Rambo for that matter. Glad Jim has some improvement! Poor Rambo- how is he doing?

Kelly- you are one busy Mommy! What an exciting year for you too. SO glad you had such a wonderful trip too.

Maxine- we had a -30 wind chill here yesterday! I love hearing your other side of the weather world stories as well!

Maggie- glad you are feeling better. I am needing to get on mission organization as well.

Barb- sounds like New Years was a blast. Ok who are you cheering for Monday for college football? Oregon or OSU? Has to be hard for places that hate them to choose to cheer for them.

Darlene- fun to see you checking in! How is your weather? Any snow?

Hi Kristie!

I do not think I forgot anyone- if I did...sorry!

We had Ballroom dancing class starting tonight- it was fun, and I enjoyed taking a hot hot shower when I got home!

Tomorrow- taking the Christmas decorations down (the Nativity set and lights are still out, and the tree is still up).
Then, working on the stamping room- NO- I AM NOT GETTING IN THAT VAN!
Hahahaha

Hugs to all
Shelly

Oh Shelly that sounds like one epic journey - one for the family history, and never to be repeated!!

We were sizzling yesterday - close to 30 oC ... it was a great day for reading!! Today it was 25 oC and a slight breeze, so I pruned the old fashioned climbing rose this afternoon - the actual pruning does not take too long - it's the cutting the prunings up to put them in a garden bag to dispose of that takes the time!! thankfully we got the garden chairs out and put them in the shade on the deck and DH and I got them all done before tea.

Good Morning--Happy, Happy Friday!

I have an appointment this morning, a couple of errands to run and then hostess club this afternoon at Sarah's. It has been a long time since I have stamped there--our last club was in November, so I am ready to see all of the new toys from the new catty and SAB.

We have our family Christmas Party on Sunday and some people are coming tomorrow to stay overnight. Roomies great-niece from Texas is flying in to spend a few days here with her grandmother-roomies sister--who lives in a senior apartment nearby. It will be a busy few days and then the Packer game is also on Sunday--Go Pack Go!

Shelly--what a trip you had---whew. I bet you are glad to be home, sleeping in your bed. Who to cheer for on Monday? I really do not know. Yes, I am not an Ohio State fan, but they are a Big 10 team! I really like Oregon as they have never won the title before and I think they are a class act team.

Oh Maxine, do be careful with your pruning and hopefully you aren't climbing any trellis' or tall fences! Glad your weather is better, too - sounds like you and I are comparable in the nice weather! It was so gorgeous here yesterday (60's) that I took a book outside and read it in the yard - swoon! I had 5000 things to do and just didn't care, LOL!

YAY Shelly's home! Holy road trip! Your photos were scary! I'd have been a nervous wreck but glad Stephi and you are both safe and good travels were had. So Katie changed cities from where she was before? Does she move every year?

Had a meeting this am for my son's Odyssey program at school - I confess I have no idea what it really is or does! It's a gifted class for the gifted, something like that - he's just a brainiac that one (takes after his dad, clearly - LOL!) I took notes and learned where/when I'm supposed to be somewhere and whatever it is, it's coming up fast - next month. Same week/end as his Boy Scout camping - eek! I grabbed my S'Bux on the way home, stopped at the PO and grocery store and now I've got to sweep and mop the floor before one of the dogs gets stuck to it - hee hee!

Hoped to go for a bike ride - that won't happen! Maybe this weekend I can take the new bike out, I'm itching to go riding ♥

I hope Jeanette has safe travels, Barb enjoys stamp class, Kel is doing good with the baby (ies!), Kristi is enjoying her week, Lynn is recovering and taking care of both of her boys! Darlene -- love you, girl and thinking of you!

Ohhhhhh! Should we do a new challenge for the new year? It's only the first week of January, we could throw down a challenge like we did in the past As always, it's optional ....... by the end of the month. Ya'll game? I can come up with an easy one this month if you would like to play long! (and you can always combine with your DT cards!)

Guess we're all going to have to live with Kelly for 6 months and then off to New Z. with Maxine for the other 6 months! We really do need warmer weather here in Texas and it's nothing compared to what some of the rest of y'all are going through! Yikes!

Shelly, glad you made it home safe and sound! What a scary trip - both ways. I saw the photos on FB too! Another big Yikes!!!

I've finally decided I'm going to forget all about the looney bin and just jump off a cliff instead!!!!!!! Let's see.....Jim is slowly getting better but still has to have help getting dressed and all that. Rambo.....he's not only limping on his front leg now, but also the back one!!!!!!! To top all the cake here though is Sassy the cat!!!! She hasn't eaten anything in two days and just sits! She's an outside cat but if I leave her there she just sits in the cold and misty rain. I bring her in and she just sits! She's 12 years old and guess that's pretty old for an outside cat. She's going to the vet this afternoon I guess.

Lynn.......I'm actually doing pretty good! Nothing hurts and am not sick (knock on wood)!!! I did have a slight accident night before last - and try not to laugh! I was sitting at my craft desk in the laundry room and was sitting on the edge of the chair (don't do that). The chair is on wheels - and I started to scoot it back and it went flying across the room, hit the washer, and Lynn fell right on her butt! It jarred everything from my behind all the way to the top of my head!!!!!!!! LOL!!!! Thank goodness nothing was broken or seriously hurting - except my pride! What a deal.

We really need to start the new year all over again for sure!!!!!!!!!

Glad that you got home safely Shelly. That traffic and roads looked pretty scary. Does sound like you need a break from the driving.

I'm still NOT better. I keep thinking my throat is feeling better and then it gets worse again. It keeps hopping from one side of my throat to the other. If it's not cleared up by Monday, I AM calling the doctor. It will be 2 weeks and I think it should be gone by now whatever it is.

I used to love to go dancing. A couple GF's and I would go all the time to different singles places. I wasn't a great dancer, but if you had the right partner, you would great too.

I was supposed to have some things delivered today for my stamp room organization and it hasn't come yet. I hope it comes tomorrow because I'm ready to get things straightened up in there.

Maybe if I just keep reading your posts about how nice and sunshiny and warm it is there, I can live vicariously through you and feel all warm and sunny here too.

So how is the kitty tonight? Did you take her to the vet? How about Rambo Did you take him too?

Oh Lynn, do be careful, you could break or really injure your tail bone. I've had that happen to me too where the chair has slipped out from under me, but luckily I've caught myself before hitting the floor.

I'm all for a Do Over!

Eeeks- Lynn be careful- hope your *** tooshie*** is not sore after that spill.... Hope everyone else at your place- people and animals- are improving!

Maggie-hope you feel better! I finally called allergist yesterday- they could not get me in, and ordered some Augmentin- feeling so much better after just 2 doses- darn sinus infections!

Kelly- a challenge sounds great to me : )

SO glad I did not drive Stephi back yesterday- the roads in Michigan were horrible, and there was a huge- 90 car and truck accident on 94E...the highway was closed for 4 miles in both directions. Crazy! I guess there was a semi with 44,000 tons of fireworks- caught fire and the fireworks started going off...... what a sight that must have been!

Have a great day to all! I am off to shower and get going cleaning the crafting area...it is going to take me a while!

Shelly
