Good Morning Everyone--it is cold again in Wisconsin as we are to have temps only in the high teens. Then, for the weekend, they say we might hit 60 again and rain.........

Lynn, when I hitchhike, I do it in style - riding in a Lexus.

Maxine, it wasn't out of the blue....... they hand-picked you! And they were smart to do so!!! I am sorry to hear of your DH's eye situation though. (((HUGS)))

hugs to everyone! so much to catch up on i'm sorry i'm not retaining everyone's news better.

i woke up with some kind of cold yesterday... i had taken allergy meds the night before thinking it was just some kind of flare-up and woke up with a full blown cold. now i'm definitely sick... and it's funny because i'm the ONLY one in the house that's sick and the ONLY one that hasn't left the house in a few days other than to pick up the kids from school, but even then i don't get out of the car until i'm back home! oh well, just hoping this goes away quickly. usually i'd dose myself up with OTC meds but since i'm breastfeeding, that's not an option!

off to eat some lunch - i told dh this is a good time for me to eat whatever leftovers are in the fridge that no one else wants - i can't taste anything anyway!! i usually can't drink orange juice because it's too sour (i'm used to it being mixed with vanilla protein powder as a meal replacement) but i drank a whole glass this morning because it tasted like water!! no flavor at all!!! lol.

hope everyone's having a nice week.

Hello everyone!

We had my Mom's appointments yesterday. She does NOT need further treatment!! The medical oncologist recommended she take tamoxifen or another medication as a way to lower her chances of it coming back but her odds are low, because of where it was located, so she has opted against it for now. I am so grateful that she is okay as I know so many whose journey wasn't so short. We leave two weeks from Monday for our trip!

Maggie - praying for your BIL. Glad you made it back from Cali okay.

Shelly - so glad to hear that Brian is home! That's awesome that Stephi did so well.

Jeanette & Barb - I was reading your messages about the trees to my DH...LOL. He was like HOW many??? I told them I want to be you ladies when I grow up LOL! He is not big on Christmas decorating but does do all the heavy lifting for me and gets the tree in place.

Kelly - your family trip sounds like fun. No ideas on how to surprise the kids, I hope you figure something out!

Kel - hope you feel better soon!

Maxine - Sorry to hear about DH's eye. I hope the kitty is doing better. I will have to pop by your blog to see your news!

Hi Lynn & Darlene...and anyone else I may have missed!

Default Hi

Days off go by too quickly! I work Fri/Sat and off Sun, then work Mon-Wed, so I may be quite in the next week- shocking, I know.

Kel- hope the cold goes away as quickly as it came on!

Kellie- Awesome news for your Mom!

Jeanette- I like the way you hitch hike.....

Maxine- so sorry to hear about your hubby's eye testing- hoping the injections work for him- wet macular? My Dad has dry macular.......

I ran around like a crazy person today, but got alot done- no stamping though. Had a great Bible study- beautiful readings.

Night all
Shelly

Hello all

What great news for you and your family Kristie - I hope you can enjoy your trip even more now!

Kel that cold sounds nasty - praying you recover quickly

Kelly do you ever stop?? - it's no wonder you sound as though you are Starbucks best customer Congrats on your DS's achievements - no wonder you are one proud Mama.

Yes Shelly , DH's R eye has gone from dry to wet macular - and the left has not really settled very well since the cataract surgery, and that is wet also.

Thank you Jeanette for your vote of confidence

Thanks also to Barb - do hope you are not snowed in badly - we are getting news reports here of the severity of the storms over in the USA - stay warm y'all, and praying you are all safe.

Good Morning--a busy few ways here........................

Last night we went to a fundraiser dinner for The HOPE Center--it is a place that offers meals and clothing in our area. This is their largest fundraiser of the year and we had a table of 10 from our church--4 couples plus our pastor and his wife. Three of us at the table won silent auction baskets, but no one won any of the other prizes.

Tonight is card club at our house--also people from church. We have 20 confirmed that are coming and another 4 or 6 are maybe's. It will be a full basement of Euchre game tables! Everyone brings an appetizer and their own beverages.

Tomorrow I hope to check out a few craft and vendor fairs that are in the area--it is the opening of deer hunting and their are many events for "the widows" this weekend. We are going to another fundraiser tomorrow night--a Witches Ball. It is a cancer fundraiser and 10 of us are meeting for a chili supper at a friend's house before the festivities.

Then, on Sunday, I am volunteering to serve lunch at a neighboring church for their celebration dinner. That church served for us the beginning of this month and a group of us are repaying the favor......................

Yes, it is a busy few days.........................

Sounds like everyone is super busy around here!!!!! I'm doing fine - just keep plugging along. I was finally in the crafting mood this afternoon and that C plate for my Cuttlebug cracked! I could see the B plate doing that but not the C one since it's so much thicker. Of course it's 4 years old so probably time to get another one. So, now have to get into the city to see if I can find one. If not, will have to order one and just do without until then.

Maxine, so sorry about your husbands eyes. Do they think he'll eventually go completely blind? I'm hoping all gets better before it get worse!

Woke up to 30 degrees today- yeah- it is warming up! We were supposed to have snow on the ground, but there is none on the ground, yet.

Maggie- hope your brother in law responds well to the antibiotics and rest- sounds scary! I think if your sis needs support, still go to the hospital for her- she may feel great relief having support, even if just for a brief visit.

Maxine- will hop over today and hear your news.... Will it make me ??? Glad the kitty is better.

Jeanette- oh boy- did someone drive with person #7? Sometimes the best laid plans.....Glad the furnace was approved.

Kelly- Tennessee sounds like a blast for Christmas. I would give the kids little gifts for a couple of days- maybe a little ornament you make? Something Tenessee-ish- a bear maybe? Or a cabin with snow on the roof. A fish on a fishing pole? And on the final day, wool socks..... My kids- we took them to the city (Chicago) one Christmas-before Katie left for China). We get alot of ....No, lets do this instead when trying to plan, so we made hotel reservations and told the kids that, but everything we did was a surprise. We took them to Second City- went for brunch at the 95th (floor of the John Hancock- great view of the lake/city) etc.....and just told them we need to walk this was at 2PM..... Turned out great! No whining cause they did not know what to wine about!
Yeah for the honor roll!

Barb- Happy Wednesday to you too. Hope you are keeping warm! Glen Ellyn is the town just East of Wheaton where I live : )

Off to finish work- need to have a card made today and have o clue what I am going to make yet : ) I think I will color though- I have an image stamped out, so may as well use it.

Have a great day- keep warm!

Shelly
I'm still looking for a cleaning lady and so is my GF. I had an e-mail from the service that I had used before saying that my lady was coming tomorrow to do the cleaning. Well, I had fired them and canceled everything a few months ago so that was a surprise. Then I got a text from the lady and texted her back not to come, that I had canceled the service. I also told her that if she were solo, I would hire her. Too bad she works for that service because she is good.

We are getting ready to have lots of rain tomorrow. It was kind of gray and gloomy today, but it cleared off just around lunch time so I could get out and get my hair cut. It started up again after I got back to work. Just glad we don't have the snow around here.

Thanks, my BIL is doing much better. He's not ready to go home yet, but improving. Today he had a minor surgery for a blood clot. They put in a piece of mesh to filter it and keep it from moving through his system. My sis has lots of support - her 4 kids and his sisters and brother. Since I work until 5 and it would take me at least 45 min to get there and then not be able to go in to see him, I don't see the point of going. My DD has been up there during the day.

The trip went well, but the appointment was not - turns out the DH's right eye, which has been stable for years, has suddenly started to deteriorate again . He was going to have an injection in both eyes, but the specialist said no as he is still on antibiotics from a chest infection.... so we are triple booked for next Thursday at 1:15p.m. at the eye clinic, and then have to go back up on the Friday for the plastic surgery clinic for a follow-up on the lump he had removed four weeks or so ago.

So not impressed, as we are approaching the 'camper-van' season, and they are so slow generally, but as soon as the road straightens or widens, they speed up and are difficult to pass. Ggggrrrrrrrr. Rant over.

Hey Jeanette - you ARE allowed to get used to the Lexus - just not covet it .

Thanks for the comments regarding my news - I am really happy that they asked me and totally out of the blue too!
So sorry Maxine about DH's eye. I can't imagine having injections in my eyes. That would really freak me out. I don't have MD, but I could. I use a product called Lumenga-z. It's just been approved by the FDA as a medical food. That means I can deduct my cost on my 1040 tax return as part of my medical expenses. Sounds like a few dr. appts. coming up. Hope they go better.

Sorry you're not feeling well Kel. I hope you can get over it soon. If you're stuffy in the nose, that will contribute to your not being able to taste because taste has a lot to do with smell.

You are very busy, but they all sound like lots of fun. Speaking of winning baskets, I forgot to mention that I won one of the raffle baskets at the Play in CA. I bought 25 tickets and divided them between 3 baskets. They each had goodies from Trader Joe's in them. I ended up winning the Date Night one, which was really the best one. Of course I gave it to my DD for her and her DH. It had a $50 GC to a nice restaurant and 2 tickets to the movies. There were 4 boxes of different movie theater candy, some popcorn, and 4 different containers from Trader Joe's of chocolate treats. After all she's been through I was so happy that I was able to give that to them.

Sorry about your C plate. I hope you can find one in town. Do you have a Michael's or Hobby Lobby? There should be one at either of those places.

I went by Whole Foods on my way home tonight and picked up some of the groceries that I'm going to need. I still have a few more things and my cousin is going to come with me in the morning and she'll bring the list for my sis. I'm going to pick her up at 9.

Went to the new hair salon today at lunch. It was hard to find. I had to call them 3x's to figure out where it was. It's a new shopping center and there are no signs. Finally made it though and got my hair trimmed and styled. It's just a little shorter, but it kind of on the straight side. I need to put some mousse in it to give it some body. It will be easy to take care of and everyone at the office loved it.

I have some good personal news. Some of my cards are been getting noticed lately and I've won images from Bugaboo and Whoopsi Daisy and QKR Stampede. I was also picked as a Spotlight Saturday at Crafting By Design and also was asked to be one of their Guest Designers. I picked December 10 using Silver and White. Sounds like fun.

Default Hello!

Hi- I finally got the SA address list updated and sent it out tonight. Maggie, the email failed to you- it said your SCS mailbox is full and is not accepting any new e-mails.

Congrats on your card making success Maggie! How fun : ) Glad to hear your BIL has improved so much. So good to hear SIL has so much support.

Maxine- hope hubby's one eye heals quickly and that the MD stops where it is at! How are the kids doing living with Grandma- what a cool arrangement for them! My Grandma lived on a farm (Mom's) and we used to pretend we were in the Wild, wild west when we went there. She was smart- she would offer us 1 cent for each dandelion we brought to her- and it had to have the root...... we would be outside all afternoon picking weeds : ) Can you imagine 7 kids coming to visit all at one time??? Oh dear!

Lynn- boo! Well, I guess you 'need' to go shopping now!

Barb- everyday sounds like a blast! Our SA Social Butterfly award goes to you this week : )

I am getting ready for bed- working early tomorrow and going out to dinner after work.
Oh, parents called today and told me they cx all of the help- the Physical Therapist went and looked in the kitchen cabinets- I think she was looking for a med bottle that was lost, but they do not want anyone they do not know in the house. Of course, they have nothing of value in the kitchen, they are paranoid. They only had one more session with her anyway, but they want to be in control of their lives..... It's hell to get old.....

Have a great weekend!
Shelly

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Lynn, I wouldn't have thought the C plate could crack/break. That seems like a fluke to me. It doesn't get that much pressure and is so thick. I hope you find a replacement!

Whew! Maggie, you had me worried. Glad you were just busy! And CONGRATULATIONS on getting noticed!!!

Maxine, how are things going with you? Settling down any?

Shelly, I didn't get an email from you.

Waving at Barb, Kelly, Kristie, Kel, Darlene... did I miss anyone?

Yes, it's always nice to get recognition for what we do. I also got a comment that told me that my Scarecrow card was featured on the Pause Dream Enjoy FB page.

Sorry about my Inbox. I've gone in and deleted some to make some room. I really need to look through and get rid of a lot of them.

Thank you.

Your story sounds kind of Tom Sawyerish where he got his friends to paint the fence for him. Your Grandma had the right idea.

I hope your parents will be okay without any help. Yes, getting old is not fun at all. What happened to those "golden" years?

We're supposed to get heavy rain this afternoon.

I'm going grocery shopping this morning. Picking up my cousin at my sis's house to take her with me. We'll get whatever my sis needs and I still need to pick up a few things for me.

I've got a ton of work to do around the house.

Good Morning!

Wow, finally a moment to breath! Whew! My kids have me going 900 mph!

Maggie, you can keep your rain, deer - hee hee! (a little holiday pun!) We had it for 2 days already - it reminded me of Seattle! All. day. long. Drizzle, drizzle. Then it would be shocking cold. Then windy. Then back to 70's. Then more rain. Then dipped into the 50's. This weather is absolutely crazy!

We told the kids! Wow! For the first 10 seconds, you could hear a pin drop and quiet little stares. Then kaboom!

What I did was plan a festive winter and 'snow' themed dinner, which no one but dh caught Then I told them you know we were planning to go to Disney for December - well, we can't go. However, you will need this ~ for another place we're going. It's not much, but its special. It's from the heart. Since you all have December bdays, except Little Man, this is our gift to you instead. They had no idea where I was going with this! They really thought it was a mommy's home gift from the heart and they were so sweet about not making it to Disney - saying it's okay, we'll go another time. I am telling you, I was almost sobbing! But I managed to just keep it to a few tears, lol. Then I gave them big grocery sacks (those brown ones from the supermarket!) filled with peanuts - my 'faux snow'. In the bottom was mittens, earmuffs, their fuzzy snow socks and as they were pulling it out and looking, we said "Because you're going to Tennessee for Christmas instead!" OMG. The cheers and hugs were quite memorable!

BTW, Santa's White Christmas ice cream is unbelievably good!!!!!!!

Thank you for your suggestions and ideas!! At least now I can get all the winter gear back out of the shed and start packing and seeing what's what, lol!

Kel, I hope you are feeling better, dear! It's awful to be sick as mommy with the little ones still needing you - speedy recovery!

Kristi, that is great news about mom! I'm so thrilled she's getting agood report and you're both well enough to be Disney bound just in time for the holidays!

Maggie, I am not surprised your cards won, my friend - they are amazing!!
Congrats on your GDT spot!

Maxine - I'm sorry to hear about dh's eye and do hope they are able to continue to work with him - your triple stacked apt sounds like it will be a long day!

Waving hi to all the lovelies!! Shelly, Jeanette, Barb, Lynn, Darlene ......

Oh Kelly! That's fun what you did with the sacks! I know everyone is excited about the trip now and y'all will have a great time.

Shelly..........Yes, it really IS hell to get old! LOL! By the way.....I didn't get whatever you sent either.

Still haven't gone shopping....maybe tomorrow if it's not too cold. Jim isn't going to be around and really doesn't like me leaving poor little Rambo outside when it's cold. I swear it's like having a child again! Maybe not as expensive, but still!

Hope everyone else is doing good!

Kelly - that sounds like so much fun! i told the kids the next big trip we're going to take is to go play in snow!! they're very excited but i don't think they realize it's not going to be for another year and then some!! lol!

Kristi - so glad there's good news. health issues are always scary!!

Maggie - congrats on the recognition and the gdt spot! i always say i craft and blog for me but it really is nice to be noticed once in a while!

Maxine - hope dh's eye isn't anything too bad. i understand you about a day full of dr's appts... my dad has parkinson's and some appointment days we can leave at 9am and not get back until it's time to pick up the kids from school after 3!!!

i totally hit send instead of finishing typing. i swear it's one of those days. sickness is better, i'm just congested and coughing now, not feeling super sick and lethargic if that makes any sense. it's a pain to put the baby to sleep though!! either i cough and he wakes up and then we start all over again or i almost choke myself holding back the coughs until i can get him down in another room!!

hope everyone has a nice week, and hello to everyone else!!!

No mail for me either Shelly

All well here - beginning to think summer may actually be close as the temperatures have risen, but there is (literally) more rain on the horizon. I have been picking the first of the broccoli this week, and they are huge - just as well there others around to help eat it .

Default Hi

OK- I sent them out 1-2 at a time instead of the entire group- I do not know why it did not go out as a group post.

I worked yesterday and went to dinner with friends after work- crashed when I got home. Today, went to church, went to a 5 hour SU Stamp-athon that lasted- all afternoon- got home just before 7PM...... SOme of the ladies were still there working on their cards. One of the ladies in my group was so slow, I made 2 of her cards..... We just had too many projects to get done. My demo always does that.

Going to bed- working the next three days, so cannot go in dragging!

Shelly

Good morning Stamp Addicts.

Kelly, sounds like you are all ready for the Christmas trip. That was cute what you did to announce it to the kids. Glad they are on board with it. We were supposed to have really bad weather yesterday, but it never materialized at my house. It was more to the West of us. We got some rain, but it was't a "storm."

Kel, glad to hear that you are feeling better. It's so hard when you're a mom with a little one to take care of and all you want to do is go back to bed.

Lynn, hope you were able to get out. I may have to disagree with you about the cost of having a pet vs. a child. I've sunk quite a bit of $$ into these guys with all their issues and now have Corey and Maggie scheduled on the 3rd to have their dental work done which is going to cost a small fortune.

Shelly, I did get the PM with the addresses. Thanks for sending that out. Sounds like you had a fun day stamping. I did get my 2 DT cards done that I needed for this week. I still have a bunch of work to do though.

Thanks for all the congrats on my recent wins. I'm always amazed. I see so many fabulous cards and projects out there. So much that I wish I had the time to play and work on more techniques.

I do come with a heavy heart though. One of my nieces called me at 12:20 this morning to let me know that her dad had passed away. I went up to the hospital to see him today. Last night they put him on continuous dialysis. He was having blood issues. I'm not sure if it was all due to the Sepsis or not, but there was a lot of uric acid in his system that they needed to clean out. He looked so terrible hooked up to all those different machines. There was only one niece that wasn't there and some of the other extended family were there also including my DD and DGD. I was there a few hours and then had to come on home. Unfortunately, the treatment didn't work and my niece (the one who comes to take care of my house when I'm gone) called me at 12:20 this morning to let me know that her dad had passed away. Not sure of any plans yet, but I had to call both my DD's and let them know. My DD in CA will be coming whenever they have the funeral. Now I need to see if I can get a little more sleep before having to get up and go to the office today.

Good Morning ~

First, Maggie I'm sorry to hear your news and lift your family in prayer. I send hugs your way ♥

Busy morning here -- dropped kids off at school, turned around and went back for a meeting which took a whole 5 minutes to tell us what we've been asking for since September for our daughter, meeting after meeting, they are finally doing. Hello. We've lost HALF A YEAR! Time my daughter can't get back. It's scary how education jumps one step forward then two back! We had to go all the way to the district, to the school board. The squeaky wheel, they say! Tis the season of gratitude so I'm grateful that they finally listened and this may be the upswing of a very difficult start to the school year ....... at least, we hope and pray!

Then home - back to the school again because my other dd forgot her Tgiving food drive box of food - geeeeesh! Tonight is Boy Scouts and I'm seriously thinking of bailing ~ so much to do! But my son has like 3 badges he's earning so if he misses, he'll have to make it up.

And yours truly still has to get things for our Tgiving meal - yikes!

Can I just go back to bed and wake up on Tuesday? LOL!!!

Shel, I got the email and PM - thanks! Good to have that handy!
