Happy Birthday Barb! Hope you had a good day.

Shelly, I never watch that program but will make a point of watching it now. Good luck to him! Hang in there on the piano lessons......you'll be on American Idol before you know it! LOL! Do they still even do that program? As if you can't tell, I'm not a TV watcher at all!

Good Morning and Happy Thursday.

I am headed to the family room to swap out the birthday card cards. I recorded all of the packages of swap cards yesterday and I think I had more than 50 from three different swaps...... I have hostess club this afternoon and tonight is the Packer game--Go Pack Go!

I will check in tomorrow, and then we are headed for a weekend in Chicago for a wedding. Roomie's niece is getting married and we are staying downtown. The family will all be together, even though there was a scare from the bride's sister who lives in Alaska and dislocated her ankle last Friday. She is now in a cast and got permission to travel, but needs to go back early on Monday as she will have surgery on Tuesday. The other sister is coming in from Taos, NM, so it will be great to see everyone!

Have a Great Day!

I'm not sure if they have American Idol still on. I don't remember seeing any ads for it lately, but they do have The Voice on and America's Got Talent.

Good luck with the piano playing. It just takes will power and determination, some things that I'm lacking right now.

HOpe your class went well. What were you teaching?

How cool for your nephew. I'll have DVR it so I don't miss it.

Hi folks - I have just caught up - you have been busy - have a good weekend Jeanette and Barb.
Good to see you back Lynn - hope you have got over the return 'busy-ness' that always happens.
Great to see you Maggie - I hope work is calming down for you
Kelly you sound as though you are running at 100 MPH - take care friend.
Shelly I understand what you are saying about not being tooooo busy - my friend here also has fibro it was what got her into stamping as she could not knit!!, hubby got interested and now they have the company Kiwistamping.

This week has been hectic - a day cleaning before DS and family moved, a day helping them as they arrived and then a trip to eye clinic yesterday - DH got a good report .

I only did one of my blog posts for my DT position - I had better go and do the other one now...

Maxine, that's great on your husbands eye report! Know that's a relief.

Maggie, yes, we did do some stamping while I was there - and also coloring. Tammy colors very well and I need to learn all I can. I started to take that online class this time on Copics but decided I didn't want to pay that much right now - with the trip and all. Maybe I'll take it later.

I think my mind is STILL on vacation! Know the feeling of no will power or determination right now. Just kinda blah! No motivation what so ever.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and beautiful weather!

Glad to hear that DH got a good report at the eye clinic.

Has DS and family found their own place there or are they staying with you in the meantime?

That's so cool that your friend and her DH have started their own stamping business. Do they have a store or are they online? What do they sell?

I was thinking that I'd have time to catch up on filing yesterday, but didn't happen. It was busy up until it was time to go home. We've been working on a PreNup for a client and late yesterday afternoon, my boss realized that there was one part that was incorrect having to do with the future wife's $$ that she was to receive and so that had to be fixed. Glad he realized it before they signed it. He did ask me if I could come in on Sunday for one more change before he did this one, and I said no. I don't work on Sundays especially since he wasn't going to work on Saturday since it is Yom Kippur, but I still wouldn't have worked on Sunday. I thought that if there was another change, they should get it done on Friday.

Glad that you were able to get some stamping and coloring in with Tammy. Sounds like fun. Next weekend, Copics is having a class here in Houston on Hair and faces which is the one that I went to Dallas for. Normally, I would go ahead and take the class again, but decided not to this time. I have a couple of online classes that I need to go through and see what I can learn from them first.

My house registered 74* this morning and the temp was sent at 76, so definitely cooler air outside.

Default Hello!

Yeah- weekend is here! Hubbys brother is here for the night- guess the nephew did not make it onto the Voice- not sure if he will be on TV or not.... I guess he had words with Blake- so we'll see.....

Maggie- not giving a class- taking one. I am going to work as a volunteer with Pro-literacy, so have to be 'oriented' for 18 hours this month! Good for you for standing up for yourself and telling them no for a Sunday. Luckily, my department is closed on Sundays : )

Lucky you- we had the heat on 65 last night- there were snow flurries out this AM, but since I slept in, I missed them..... but it is Chilly out- in the 40's. Only in the Midwest can we be wearing shorts one day and sweatshirts and pants the next!

Lynn- I know Tammy colors beautifully, I bought some Inktense pencils after I saw her coloring (and had a 40% off coupon I HAD to use at Dick Blick). I need to work more on coloring with those and the Copics- guess I need more time! I never have time to sit and just color. Oh well, I tell Ray I will have lots of supplies when I retire : ) Anyway, did you get some 1-1 tutorial time I hope??? Heehe my mind is still on vacation and it has been 1 1/2 weeks since I got back!

Maxine- awesome your son found a place to live and all- so nice they will living so close to you- does he have children??? Glad hubby got a good repost on his eye. How is your wrist from the fall? I think wrist injuru=ies are quite painful!

Waving hello to all!

I am going to sneak in some ATC time while hubby and brother are out shopping at the Bass Pro shop...... Mark lives on the farm Ray grew up on, so he likes guns and all of that our-doorsy good stuff!

Shelly

Hi all - life has slowed down a wee bit now, and I have had a couple of days where I have got out to the studio - one card is up on the blog, but there are plenty more to come, as I have not had much time to do any blogging recently.

Spring is going mad here, and this weekend we have had low temperatures and rain, and there has been snow on the Mountains about 2 hours south of us - tomorrow it's gales that are forecast!..........

Yes, DS has one son - Four and a half and all noise and go!!

Better go and write the weekly missive to the family - over ten years ago I started it for DH's son who is overseas, and now our two want it too. Even when they lived with us they requested I send them a copy, but it has kept us connected over the years, which is all good.

Good Mornings, dears!

I hope everyone is doing well - Maggie is enjoying her new ride, Lynn is finding her brain again from vacy, etc!

We've had a whirlwind few weeks here and I'm seriously in need of a break - but that ain't gonna happen! We had lots of kids - LOL. I cannot imagine when I see that crazy show about The Duggars how on earth they do it if I only have 4!

We did get some REALLY WONDERFUL news! My SIL is now out of Alaska and in Texas! I am so thrilled for them! The telegram version is she holds a gov't job and they have to alternate stateside time verses abroad. She's been in Kuwait, Germany, etc and it was time to return to the US - for a year. Well, turns out it ended up being 3 years!! Due to job shortages and budget cuts, they left her in Anchorage without a position or job to return to. She was not only separated from my brother for 3 years, but in a gosh awful place in the middle of nowhere Alaska about an hour from Anchorage. I guess had she signed up for it, like Jeanette's dd, it would have been a wonderful adventure, lol. But she never wanted to be there nor did she get a choice in assignment - so it has been a grueling, awful 3 years. But they are now reunited! I could not be happier ~ my brother transferred stateside and they are back together ♥

Which means I'll be visiting, probably in the summer! So Maggie and Lynn, how far are you from San An? I've been there as a teen - we even hopped over to Laredo for the day. That would be a super cool visit depending on where ya'll are!

Tonight is the LONG AWAITED One Direction concert with dd15. Holy moly the girl is bouncing off the walls. It will be our 3rd 1D concert - we have floor seats (pitt) that we bought last year when they went on sale. THe concert sold out in seconds, I'm told -- but dh managed to get tickets and they happen to be on the floor. The FUN PART is it's an open dome stadium and they are expecting the rain we've had all week! OH THE JOY! You'll probably see some pretty hilarious pictures pop on on Facebook or somewhere. The things we do for kids!

Maxine, you are such a dutiful wife and mommy - always taking care of everyone. You have a heart of gold, my friend.

Maggie, you haven't given us any kitty updates -- I'm hoping that means everyone is well! What are ya'll reading this month? We are reading Petals from the Sky, my first book back after taking last month off. So far, I REALLY like it, different from what I'm usually reading.

Waving to Shelly (are you home!?), Jeanette, Barb, Darlene, Lynn oh I hope I'm not forgetting anyone -- hugs, hellos!

Happy Sunday Evening. We had a great weekend in Chicago even though it was cool and it did rain during the day on Saturday. We spent some time walking the Magnificent Mile both mornings--lots of window shopping! The wedding was very nice and it was great to spend time with family that we do not see often. We spent some time this afternoon at the Chicago Botanic Gardens with about 20 family members.

Tomorrow is time to get inky as it seems I have been away from the stamp room too long!

Kelly, that's great news about your sister in law. I'm only about an hour and half from San Antonio so maybe we could meet some how! That'd be fun.
OMGOODNESS!!!! Bless your heart for taking the kids to the One Direction concert!!! HA! Kimberly (my daughter) took hers last month in San Antonio! Seven and a half hours from where she lives. The first thing she did was buy ear plugs for everyone! It was in a dome stadium and I just image the noise level was unbearable! Said there were 55,000 screaming girls there! HA! They had a ball though.

All is just chugging along here. Going to try and get a card made this afternoon maybe. I'm having a hard time getting back in groove after my trip I think.

Oh, are any of y'all taking the Online Copic Card class? It's $35.00 and just wondering if it's worth it. I need some help somewhere along those lines!!!!!!!!

Hi Stamp Addicts!

I had a bit of a scare this morning. My computer wouldn't boot up! I took it to the office and had the IT guy look at it. Turned out that my battery was dead. The charger was not working. Lucky I have another charger, so all he had to do was plug it in and charge it up.

Shelly, good luck with your class you have to take. As it turns out, there really wasn't a lot of work done yesterday. The girl that went in to help only was there 2 hours and only a few changes made. The one big change was a chart that was dropped into it that was done by one of the paralegals that was in working. Even if it had been Saturday, it wasn't enough really to make it worthwhile going in. So glad I didn't have to.

My weekend was quiet, but I was busy yesterday in between watching sessions of General Conference. I spent a lot of time cleaning my hardwood floors and ended up putting a protectant coating on them. Look so much better now.

Maxine, that's sweet that you write letters to your family and keep in touch with everyone. I used to write letters years ago, but not much of a writer now.

Kelly, that's great that your brother and sil are once again reunited after being apart for 3 years. That's just crazy that they couldn't get her home during all that time.

Hope you guys have a fun time at the 1D concert tonight.

Wow! Kelly that would be fabulous if you came to Texas! I'm about 3 hours from San Antonio, but I'd drive there to meet up with you and Lynn! How fun! Just let us know.

The fur babies for the most part seem to be doing fine. Every so often one of them has some sort of issue (not serious) but since I never know which one, there's nothing that I can really do. They don't seem sick or anything.

We're still on Evening in the Palace of Reason. It was a 2 month book. We'll get together next Tuesday to discuss it. Haven't heard about that book you're reading. I'll have to check it out.

Who are you taking the class from? There are a few different instructors out there. I have a lesson from Kit & Crowder that I was looking at last night. I bought it back in June and haven't had the time. This one is on clothing. I'm thinking about signing up for another one. I also bought a year's worth of lessons from Simply Betty Stamps. She did a new lesson every month starting last October and just finished up in September. She still owes us a couple of videos for June through September, but I have all the images she used.

I love to hear about you all taking classes - I haven't taken the plunge yet, but I am looking at taking the watercolour one that was around a wee while ago. It is the combination of limited income and a much lower exchange rate that makes me hesitate.

I don't actually write a physical letter Maggie - I type up an email . It is still called the weekly missive within the family.

Kelly I hope you survived the concert What great news for your SIL and brother. .

Hope you got some cards made Lynn, and Barb.

We have had a lovely day here - and I had to spend the bulk of it in the car or hospital - I had to go up to Waikato ( the big, 'base', hospital for the region, where all the specialist equipment is, and where we go for DH's eye appts), for a scan - the gynaecologist ordered it to ensure there is nothing sinister around that is causing my symptoms, as the physical exam showed nothing amiss. The radiologist said it looked good - nothing sinister there. Of course it had to be on the finest day of the week, and I was hoping I would be back in time to get some gardening done as I have more vegetable plants to plant. Hopefully tomorrow

Waving to you all from the end of a gorgeous spring Tuesday
