Good Morning SCS Friends! The class yesterday was fun and we made 4 fun cards. I came home to cut the grass as we are to get rains, heavy at times, for the next 4 days! Darlene, luvcardmaking here on SCS, is staying here tonight on her way to visit her son in Minot. She is then flying back next week to spend a few more days here and attend Camp Stamp-in-Oga. Yes, that is coming up in 10 days! I need to start thinking of my projects!

Happy Birthday Barb - even if it is the 2nd here and theoretically I'm late

Say 'Hi' to Darlene from me please

The wind did not eventuate, thankfully, but we did have a frost overnight...

Good Morning--I had a nice birthday yesterday. I ran some errands, getting some donations for the Fur Ball, the humane society fund raiser this month. Then Darlene arrived early in the afternoon and chatted! Rebecca cooked us a great dinner-salmon, shrimp and brussel sprouts! And, carrot cake cupcakes for dessert! We had storms roll through in the evening and were under a tornado warning around 10, while we were watching the Brewers lose a heart breaker in the wildcard game--so their season is over! Darlene left this morning and I am headed to the stamp room. Gloomy, cool day and more rain coming in tonight.

Friday is almost over here... I have had a good day - took the car in to have the tyres checked and all is well - it was my lack of observation that had let the tyre get so low... ooops!!

After I came home from town, (with three stamping magazines in my bag, they just jumped off the shelf as I walked past, so I had to pay for them) I got myself organised and spent three hours in the garden!! That area is looking GOOD now

The last of the afternoon I spent with neighbours, whose child turned 7 today. I always make her a card, and try to do something special with it - this time I made a 'Magic Window' card, thanks to Mrs A of the Butterfly challenge. It was very much appreciated! It'a a fun card to make to. I have another one completed and one on the go...

Waving to you from 1 1/2 hours off the weekend here Down Under

Default Hello

Hi ladies

Maxine- funny how those magazines do that.... Jump into your basket! Hope you enjoy them!!!
Barb- sounds like you got lots of stamping done! Wahoo!

The outdoor Temp dropped 25 degrees here and was 58-60 outside. If the sun was out it was OK, but the wind kicked up a bit- pretty chilly!

(Maxine it was 20-22C here and dropped to 12-13C here today. It is so chilly)!

We had a garage sale today, I have the same stamping supplies out that I took 2 weeks ago and other household items. We have prices very low.
While I was out, I looked up and saw this:

We do not live near a river or lake to feed this guy, but glas he flew over- so cool!!! It is not usual to see an eagle in our neighborhood!

Another day of sale tomorrow, hubby will be the sales person and outside, so i hopwe to get some stamping done : )

Have a fabulous weekend!
Shelly

Good morning. Looks everyone has been busy, busy, busy.

I have a Genealogy Forum meeting this morning. Then I have to work on my project for Gen Methodology class due tonight. Yesterday was working on studying for my Am Foundations class exam. I finished that up late last night. Had a lot of work to review.

Maxine, I love that card example. I'll have to check your blog for your card. One reason I stay out of Joann's. They sell those magazines and I will always buy at least one. The ones that I see usually have a stamp set and sometimes a die set to go with it in the magazine. I've gotten some cute things in the past.

Shelly, what a beautiful sight to see. So majestic.

Barb, fun that you get so much time to spend in your stamp room.

Jeanette. Hope your meeting is going well.

Kelly, bet you are spending lots of time getting ready for 1st birthday for Alice.

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I'm loving so many of you have popped in and chatted! Hello all!

Our trip was good and I made some great connections for Literacy Missions (which was my responsibility at the Missions Expo) so that's GREAT. Now I'm in RUSH mode. I leave for my mission trip next Tuesday - and I have so much yet to do. I also am gone this Friday/Saturday for a meeting so that makes for a short week to get everything accomplished. I'll have to work speedily and be productive, for sure.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning. I have a very busy week besides all the school work.

Tomorrow night I need to be at the FHC to help the Youth in our Ward work on their family names.I have lunch plans on Wednesday with one of the girls that used to be at my office.

This coming weekend is a 3-day genealogy convention - Texas Genealogical Conference. I'm hoping to make it to all the sessions, but I've got the kids coming for dinner also. That means I also have housecleaning to do this week and getting to the grocery store. I made a really yummy dish last night and hope it be able to use part of it for dinner on Sunday. It's roasted zucchini, red pepper, red onion, and chickpeas. I roasted that and then added salmon to it and roasted some more. It turned out great. I posted on FB and had four people ask for the recipe. It was a WW and only 2 points. I'm thinking that I can use Tofu instead of the salmon. Friday night I have a telephone call scheduled with an old friend who lives in CO. Hope I can get it all done.

Good morning. I spent a good portion of my day yesterday reading all about the Constitution and what lead up to getting it signed. It really was interesting reading. I don't think I have ever read it from start to finish.

Today I'll be working on my Research Project. Need to start getting things organized so I can write my report.

Heading up to church later tonight to work with the Youth on Family History.

Hi friends!

Sorry I haven't been able to stop in - just too much going on here at the same time!

Alice is officially ONE! I cannot believe a year flew by! She had a terrific party and it was perfect from moment begin to moment end! It was forecast to rain some and not a drop! We had a full turnout, not a single cancellation, and it was fun seeing everyone again and meeting new friends, too! From the catering to the tent to the stacks and stack of new toys and gifts mailed and those attending, its going to take another day to get all of this under control

I also started a new book club, my son's drama department is in full swing and I spent yesterday building sets. I think this is going to be one strange drama show (I've never heard of it!) and my son isn't in it but part of the Tech. We had Open House, lots of activites for Scouts and his OA ...... and yesterday was the montlhly meeting for his high school mission. Whew!

I hope everyone is doing great!
Hugs!

I child left at school and still Kelly spends a full day there!! You go Kelly!!

I had an awesome road trip with one of my best friends today - we went over to Raglan (where I went for my break in May) and we had a ball - a lot of driving, but I am so much better I really enjoyed the whole day, but shhh - I am tired now. The sun was shining and the temperature up in the early 20's... bliss. Lots of laughs and stops for coffee and nibbles and ice cream!!

A total change from yesterday which was mild, but overcast, and I spent the day with DD and her two children (Miss 9 and Master 7) clearing their very overgrown vegetable gardens ready for summer..

Needless to say I am not getting much studio time at the moment

Great to hear all your news - I start my morning reading the posts on my phone

Waving to you very sleepily from Down Under

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Barb, I know you're going to have a great week/weekend stamping your time away with friends. Enjoy! And say Hi to Darlene from me, too,

Maggie, I'm glad you enjoyed the reading. I'm sure your Research Project will be great!

Kelly, I'm exhausted just reading your post. How do you do it all??? You are such a blessing to so many!

Maxine, I'm glad you enjoyed the road trip with your friend. You've been busy with other things too, so it's understandable that your Studio time is brief. Take care!

So.... it's crunch time here. I leave for Hawaii in less than a week... and I'm still putting finishing touches on the breakout conference I'm leading for the women there. My DH and I are meeting with our Association's Administrative Assistant for a 2-3 hours this morning. She's retiring the end of the month so we have to learn all we can about mailings, how to do the newsletter, and more. It looks like I'll be doing her job at least until the end of the year so my DH has time to re-evaluate what our Association needs in regards to that position. After her 25 years of service, there are changes that need to be made and he wants that figured out before he hires the next one.

Tomorrow is an all-morning prepping/cooking for the meal I'm serving for a meeting here in town. I leave early Friday morning and don't get home until late Saturday night for an out-of-town meeting (preparing for my next mission trip - to work with Refugee women in Las Vegas). Monday will be spent doing laundry and packing, as well as a lot of other last minute things. Yikes! Will I get everything finished before I fly off to Hawaii??? I'm starting to wonder.

Oh, and just so you know, after today you'll not see me again until Monday. I will definitely want to pop in on Monday to make the rounds and check up on what's happening, as well as to say bye before I leave for Hawaii.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Thursday evening here and I am feeling very blessed... ended up spending most of the day with family, and was fed lunch and dinner and it is raining now, heavily enough to do some good in the garden and help the new spring planting of lettuce and zucchini, but it is still warmer than it has been for what seems like ages .

Jeanette, praying all goes well up to and during your trip to Hawaii

Kelly I pray you will have strength to do all that needs to be done, and peace when you know when to stop and rest.

Maggie you history sounds fascinating - I am always intrigued when I read a well written history!

Barb, enjoy your time with Darlene (say hi from me too, please) and also enjoy stamp camp - I would love to be there - one day!!

WAving to you from a damp Thursday evening Down Under

Yes it's true - Friday is coming!

Maxine, how joyous to spend some time away and enjoy the company of friends and a little away spot! I hope your weather holds up . Here, its still HOT HOT HOT!

This weekend just got CRAZIER - the Boy Scout garage sale is Saturday and my husband informed me he's NOT going. Wow, thanks! LOL! It's always hard to work - a LOT Of hard work and people haggling for prices and last year - stealing! It was horrible.

Hopefully tonight I'll be able to make a few cards!

Darlene and I had fun shopping yesterday and we both got some fun new toys! We are heading over to Sarah's this morning to help with preparations for camp as well as hostess club. We will then head over to church at 4:00 to start set up for camp and the camp rummage. Another Fun day in Wisconsin but the weather turns today yucky!

Well Saturday is nearly done and dusted and my house is finally clean - seems as though I been trying to get it done for days - I've planted out another dozen or so lavender plants that I started as cuttings last autumn as part of my hour or so in the garden. It's been a lovely sunny day after a cloudy start - Spring is springing.

Enjoy your weekend with Darlene, Barb

Kelly I hope for your sake the sale goes well and you can relax afterwards and do some card making.

Jeanette I pray you find joy in your busy weekend. You must be so organised to keep your blog going with a post (or more) a day when you are away....

Maggie, I hope you have a great weekend too and that the school work is all under control and you get some stamping time too

Waving to you all from a glorious spring evening Down Under - we started day light saving a couple of weeks ago and the evenings already seem to be waaaaaaaaaay longer

I have visited the 'Hot Mess" cards, and love the techniques used, but I don't comment on halloween cards - just letting you know

Hi all! Yes, I blinked and our busy weekend was over just like that!

Maxine - no worries! Thank you for your visit! ♥

I have a full day tomorrow and hope to squeeze in some time to drop in - set building at the high school for the new drama play, Radium Girls. My son isn't in it - he's running tech and I'm running paintbrushes and power tools, LOL!

Hi and Happy Sunday my stamp addict friends. I have been gone the last three days - just during the daytime, not away from home. I attended the Texas State Genealogical Society Family History Conference. It was held here in Houston so didn't have to worry about travel and lodging. It was really a great time. Saw some friends that I met at GRIP when I went to Pittsburgh in June and then a bunch of people from our Houston Genealogical Forum were there. One lady was so sweet. She kind of goes by where I live to get to the hotel where it was held, so Friday she invited me to ride with her on Saturday and then again on Sunday. That was great; I didn't have to drive. It was three days chock full of all kinds of genealogy workshops. Quite a few on DNA, so I'm trying to learn more about that. I need some time to play around.
I have my annual physical tomorrow morning so I have to remember not to eat breakfast. I also ask for the first appointment in the morning so I don't have to fast for too long. I'll go to the grocery store on my way home.

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I'm dashing through this morning on a day that's going to be filled with a last-minute flurry of activity in preparation for leaving for the first leg of my journey to Hawaii tomorrow. Unless I pop back on here later today, I'll see you again after I return from my mission trip.

Hmmmmm... I'm thinking of you, Maggie. Fasting for doctor appointment and then going to grocery store on the way home. I might be tempted to buy the whole store at that point. Seriously, I hope all goes well with your physical! It sounds like you had a good conference - with no driving. Awesome!

Maxine, can you come dust at my house please? It desperately needs it! Yes, I schedule blog posts and keep things going, even when I'm gone. (I have posts scheduled for many of the days ahead already.) Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog - and I totally understand about not commenting on Halloween cards/projects.

Kelly, have fun with the power tools and paintbrushes today! Takes me back to many happy memories of my college career.

Barb, I'm sure you and Darlene had a great time... how was camp? Did you buy anything fun at the rummage sale?

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Inky Friends--Happy Monday! I had a great time at camp on Saturday, though we did not take any pictures............... Food was great, 3 of the 7 at our table won a door prize (Terry and LJ, but not me) and we all got inky-just needed to look at our hands! Today Darlene have a Halloween stamp class at Sarah's and then this afternoon, we will just stay home! The Packers play tonight and Darlene leaves tomorrow morning. We have had wonderful time and I know we will see each soon! I hope each of you have a great start to the new week!

I bought one pack of paper and one ink pad at the rummage Jeanette--I was good! And, I sold 2+ paper boxes of items at the rummage--including a plastic bin of 51 bottles of Stickles! Who needed 51 bottles of Stickles????? Obviously I did not, but I am sure glad someone else did! I also sold a baggie filled with flower soft supplies. Trends come and go.........................

Jeanette, I am so jealous that you are going to Hawaii even if it is a working/mission trip. How exciting.

The doctor/physical visit went fine. He said I looked great and had the blood pressure of a 15-year old. LOL! I felt bad for other patients today because he was in talking to me for a long time. I don't know if I have shared before that my doctor is my former boss's brother. So I got an update on how he is dealing with it, which from my doctor's point of view is - not good. But nothing I can do about that situation. He also told me that he mentioned the situation to his former SIL and GS, both of whom are attorneys. They said that they might could use me. Not something that I am counting on or even sure I want, but I think that he will talk to them again. I do know that I don't want to go back to the same place as I was because I do NOT want to work for that new company.

I did go to the grocery store on my way home and was pretty good. I did not go overboard buying stuff. After I got home I got on my insurance website and ordered mail delivery for my three prescriptions that I take all the time. They are $0 if I order by mail. I had also forgotten that I get $50 per quarter for OTC products so I ordered some stuff on there too.

Had an issue with one of my DVR's last night. Finally got around to calling AT&T and the tech was able to tell me how to fix it, so it's up and working now too.

Time to get started with school work.

Again, Jeanette, have a great trip.

Waving hi to everyone else.
