Missed book club tonight too. I'm not sure if anyone went, but I did not want to drive at night in this stormy weather. It was also about 40 minutes away from my house. Two other ladies that live close to me called to see if I went. Neither of them were going to go either.

Stayed home and did some schoolwork.

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Awwwwww, thanks Maxine! You are a blessing, too! I'm so glad to hear the surgery went well... will pray that the healing is swift and complete - and that there will be no need for swearing.

Barb, how did the interviews go? That was the last of them, right?

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning--Happy Friday! The 2 interviews we did yesterday were good--one is out top choice for one of the two positions-and we think would be a good fit for our #1 in the other position too. We have two more interviews on Monday and hope to make a decision that night to make recommendation to the entire board on Wednesday. I have hostess club this afternoon and I am going to "studio-sit" for Sarah during the afternoon club as her daughter graduates from college in Iowa tonight. We have a busy weekend with two gatherings tomorrow--one for brunch and the other for supper. Sunday, we are going to see Come From Away. Fun Weekend! Have a great one!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you my friends. I hope you are enjoying your day. I've heard from both of my DD's already and plan to spend some time with the youngest and family in a little while.

Jeanette, I saw those photos of Brock playing ball on FB yesterday. He did look like he was having a fun time.

i hope you all had a Mother's day as wonderful as mine - I was well loved and spoilt rotten - if one can rot from too much chocolate... plus a wee necklace.

The surgery went well, and I am recovering with no complications - four or five stitches across my nose, and eight on my arm, but no discomfort to speak of. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers

Shelly my thoughts and prayers are with you - I pray that the surgery results in relief from pain and you have a fast and uncomplicated recovery.

All the best for the week ahead - Monday is nearly over here, and the sun is back out and the wind has dropped so life is looking good
Waving to you all from Down Under

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

FYI:

Thanks Maggie... Brock does love it! Unfortunately, that will be his one/only game this Spring. Last week was a rain-out and this week I have a meeting in our state offices, and since DH is gone, Brock will have to go with me. Memorial Day weekend we are all three going to Missouri. Brock is not going to like missing all the ballgames. The good news is the last couple of years they've also played 3-4 games in late summer so hopefully they can do that again this year. They can't do it in June/July and most of August because the other teams get the baseball fields in town.

Maxine, I"m so glad your surgery went well! That's awesome news! And I'm glad you got a bit of spoiling for Mother's Day as well.

Waving to everyone else!

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning--Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day! We went to see Come From Away and it is awesome! So funny, great voices and dancers too--and the story is so heartwarming. Some times it is a bit sad, bringing back 9/11 memories. We are headed out for a hike in the state park and to look for some morels--there is a spot where we know they grow. Then, this afternoon, the last two interviews at the shelter, along with making our final decision on both positions. I will be glad when this is over and the contracts are signed! And, excited for the future as there are some great candidates with fresh ideas and great energy. One of my good friends is the current ED, so that will be a bit bittersweet, knowing she is retiring, but change is always good! Have a Marvelous Monday!

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Oh. my. goodness. Yesterday was rough, tough, and not stuff I want to repeat today. (Am I the only one who has days like that?) Recuperating and moving on, that's my mantra for today.

Operation Declutter - which was supposed to be all week long (DH is away this week) didn't start yesterday, which means I have to be diligent today.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning All--Happy Tuesday! Interviews are done--yay! We are taking our recommendations to the full board tomorrow morning and planning to make the calls with offers on Friday. It feels good to be complete and we are happy with our first two choices! Today is a full day outside in the gardens as it is to be a beautiful day. No time for stamping the next few days--but when the rains come, then I can head to the stamp room.

Maggie, she said the surgery went well and she was doing pretty good, but anticipating the pain would be worse on Day 3.

After last week, seeing the physiotherapist yesterday and a biopsy today, I am feeling as though I am being held together with stitches and white sticky plaster!!

Then to top it all off, I went to turn on the computer today, and it decided to update - and all but chocked on it - I thought I may have lost it at one point as it looked decidedly like the "blue screen of death".. never a dull moment!

Good to hear Shelly's surgery went well - I hope the pain is worth the end result!!

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Barb, I hope you had at least a little time outside yesterday, since it was a pretty day!

Oh my, Maxine! You've been through a lot of medical stuff, haven't you? (((HUGS))) I'm glad your computer wasn't lost in the update.

My computer locked up yesterday and it took me forever to get into it. I wonder if if was updating and didn't let me know.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning my Inky Friends. I am heading to the stamp room as I am behind and my desk is a mess! My Spring swap is all organized and the piles of cards on my long table--I will swap them later today and get to the post office. The rains are heading our way and that is a good thing as the gardens need it. I did plant some flowers in large barrels on Monday that I got last fall and will on our deck, so they are ready to get watered too. I also patched some holes in our lawn so water is good for those too! I hope you have a great day!

FYI - Brock and I are leaving today - going out of town for a couple of days (I have a meeting). So, you'll likely not see me again until Monday (unless I pop in again later this morning.) Have a FABULOUS weekend!

Good Morning--Happy Sunday Morning. It is a dreary, rainy day and it is to last into Tuesday morning. I volunteered at a 5k yesterday morning that the humane society sponsored--it was cold and damp. It did warm up a bit and the sun shined later in the day and I was able to cut the grass. I also finished planting the all of the remaining pots, baskets and the three very large pots-think 2 feet across-with flowers yesterday. They will stay in the greenhouse for a bit-until June 1st or so. We need some sunny days! I plan to spend the day in the stamp room and watch the Bucks game tonight. Have a Wonderful rest of the Weekend!

I hope you are doing better Maxine.

This has been a terrible, horrible, stressful week here. Both my classes had tons of reading and writing reports. I finished up the last thing I had to do last night about 9 PM. I'm usually done with all my class work by Friday night. I had a research report due with a first draft on Wednesday that was only supposed to take 4 hours. I kid you not, it probably took me at least 3x that amount of time and then I couldn't get the whole report to upload they way the instructor told us to do it. I ended up just uploading the report and 2 attachments which was fine for the draft. I was able to finish it up and got it all put together on Friday and uploaded it from my office which did the way it was supposed to.

Butterflies are doing great. I released twelve over the last three days.

Sorry to hear about all the computer issues. No fun at all.

A friend from work had extra tomato plants so she brought them to the office on Friday and some of us took them from her. I got four. They are the cherry tomato kind, two red and two yellow. I transplanted them into gallon buckets yesterday and hope that they will grow. I did a lot of outside work yesterday. Went and got a few more milkweed plants and two large pots for plants on my patio. One I think is too small for the plant, so I will probably have to go and get a larger one. They are soooooo expensive. I did some planting in the front around my tree - six blue daze plants to fill in spots that looked bare. I got some small edging plants for the back yard and got them in the ground and some more milkweed got planted too. My knockout roses were looking bad, so I had to deadhead those. Found two fritallary chrysallises hanging on two leaves. Glad I noticed them before I cut them off the bush.

We were supposed to get stormy weather last night, but I guess it went north of us, because we only got a few sprinkles. I'm glad I ran the sprinklers on my new planting instead of waiting for the rain that never came.

Default Hi

Dropping in to say hello!

Doing progressively better- day 3 (Wednesday) was pretty bad- lots of discomfort. I have myself off the pain meds now, just taking Tylenol and still using the muscle relaxant. I am supposed to walk for exercise, and increase the amount per day, so today, just shy of 7000 steps, and I usually walk during night prayers about 20 minutes around the 1st floor which is about a mile..... I cannot drive until I am off the muscle relaxants, so Ray has to wait on me hand and foot : )

Like Barb, we are having dreary rainy weather. Friday night, we had hail storms- that was noisy- about 1:30AM.

I am standing at the counter in the kitchen a bit and coloring with Prismacolor pencils : ) I had stamped on Kraft in white for ATC's before surgery, and almost done coloring those, need one more set for the Unity swap I am in monthly, not sure what I will do for that one.

Maggie- sorry school is so crazy! Yes, plants are so darn expensive, but so pretty in the yard! We do not have butterflies yet, but watching birds alot. We have Orioles still, a couple of weeks now.

Maxine, so sorry you are all stitched and plastered up, but glad they fixed it when they did! And, hoping the computer is working well now!

Barb- I love flowers, but they make me sneeze like crazy! I have always dreamed of having a greenhouse!

Kelly- not too long and it is summer! We went to another church today as I slept all day- it was a nice service, but we sure love our own parish- we have the best priests- one is celebrating one year on the 26th- he is an amazing holy man- gives incredible sermons!

Jeanette is pulling in and signing on in the AM to tell us how her trip was!

Waving hello to everyone!
Shelly

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Today is actually going to be an exciting day at our house - we'll be celebrating Brock. It's his birthday!

Shelly, it's so good to see you - it seems to me you are doing pretty well post-op, but of course that is easy for me to say since I can't feel your pain.

Kelly, I'm glad you enjoyed the service in the sister church. I hope you had the necessary energy for the non-stop Sunday. How many days until summer???

Maggie, Yikes! That's a lot of homework... but YAY for getting it done! I hope today is a bit easier.

Barb, how awesome that you have the plants potted and everything growing. DH did buy some tomato plants on his way home on Saturday but the garden spot is still too wet. They disced it, but our farmer friend whose land it is on said it was really too wet to disc when they did it. And we had more rain yesterday - so they won't be plowing today, I'm sure. UGH! We leave on Friday for our trip, so I'm hoping that DH can get something in the garden before then, but that may be wishful thinking.

Maxine, I hope you are healing and doing okay!

Our weekend went smoothly and the hand-off of Brock to DH so I could be at the important meeting happened without any challenges. YAY! The meeting was very good. We will have these quarterly for the rest of this year - and we have tons of homework in-between meetings. This is a leadership cohort for women. It's the first one our state director has put together - so we also have the mandate to help her tweak and perfect it. She'll be offering this each year to a new group, well, that's the plan anyway.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
