Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Oh my... what a sweet blog post, Kelly - and look at Alice! Adorable!!! I hope your son is doing well... loving his trip... and that you're getting regular updates!
Maggie, I'm sorry you're still having health issues. UGH! Hopefully you'll be better soon!

Barb, sounds like you had a great class and goodies to play with at home, too! FUN!!!

Maxine, congrats on winning!

Waving to others... dashing through.

I am home again... made it home a little earlier than expected last night, but was so exhausted I took advantage of that "extra" time by going to bed earlier than expected last night. LOL! I did manage to unpack my bags and chat a wee bit with my DH before doing so.

Today is KETCHUP day.

I'm so far behind that will most likely not be completely accomplished in one day. LOL! We also have a meeting this afternoon related to Brock's work, etc. (kind of like an IEP meeting when he was in school). I hate these meetings. UGH!

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning SCS Friends! Happy Tuesday! We did make 4 cute cards in the "Love" stamp class yesterday. Today is stamp day and I will start to get ready for Camp Stamp-in-Oga this weekend--getting a couple of projects ready to work on. I have two challenge cards to make for that too.

Thank you for the sweet words on Alice. She's our little dreamy baby!

Yay for card class, Barb!

Maggie, are you feeling any better? So you just stopped taking the meds .... as they were what was making you feel sick? I am a bit confused .... but it doesn't take much, LOL!
Hope that Little Man has a great time in NYC.

I am doing well. I did stop taking the antibiotics because they were causing me a different kind of sick - issues with my esophagus. Feels like you have something stuck down by your stomach, like a pill didn't go all the way down. Also, when I'd bend over for any reason, I'd feel some pain. Waiting to hear back from my doctor today what she thinks about changing the meds. The esophagitis seems to be better today so I'm hoping that by stopping the meds, it will clear up and go away.

Hi all! It's half way to the weekend!

Little man is having a ball in New York City! He hit the ground running with his squad and has been visiting so many sights! I am loving the pictures coming in so far!

I hope everyone is doing well - I did my blog rounds today. Ya'll are so creative! I love how everyone has a different style (and at least all yall HAVE a style, lol - I'm a creative mess, but that's okay!)

Alice is teething SO BADLY and it's been hard to focus or get anything done around here - but it won't be forever ♥

Darn - was halfway through a post and it disappeared on me!!

Jeanette you really are a woman on the go!! Hoe did you meeting about Brock go? Well I hope

Kelly - poor wee Alice - Annalise is drooling a flood, but no sign of teeth.

Shelly - looking forward to hearing about your DNA results. That sounds as thought it was a nasty bout of flu. Has Ray finished his 'sorting' craze yet?

Barb - you too are a busy woman - hope you had some good stamping time

Maggie I hope they get your meds sorted soon and that you fully recover. it's been a long haul for you!

Anyone heard from Darlene, Lynn, Kel

It's hot here - one local weather station had us up at 29.4 oC - read approx 84 oF! At least the humidity is down and there is a breeze. It's just gone 8 p.m. here and I still have everything open...

Life has been busy, particularly this week as DD has been minus a car - hers died late last week, and her DH has been away with the children, using the other car, so yours truly has been chauffeuring to and fro from work etc!!

I finally got an order of cards into the mail this afternoon - and now I have to get 4 made for family in Australia, and get them into the mail too - I like to get all those that are close together away in the one envelope to save on postage. I totalled up the other day and I have 17 cards to make for Jan/Feb, with no extras.

I have also been picking and freezing beans and zucchini and rhubarb.. never a dull moment.

The new pastor arrives in two weeks time and starts on the 1st Feb - so glad it's finally near!!

Better go and visit some blogs - I haven't been around to visit for 8 days or so...

Waving to you all from Down Under

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Barb, sounds like yesterday was busy (and not so like-able here on SCS). What are your plans for today?

Kelly, I am sure your son is having a great time... sure too bad you didn't get to go along! Poor sweet Alice needed your snuggles though... teething is no fun!

Maxine, YAY for new pastor almost arriving! And look at you... so busy!

Waving to everyone else!

So happy that Little Man is having a wonderful time in the Big Apple. It's also great that he is sending you pictures.

I hated when the kids were teething. My oldest used to get a high fever whenever she was cutting teeth. It was not a fun time at all.

You have really been keeping yourself busy Maxine. I know you'll be happy to see that new Pastor come to town.

Kel posted on FB the other day that she has been named a student Regent to the University of Hawaii's Board of Regents. That girl is going places. I don't know how she does it all. She's working on her Masters and she still has time to make cards.

Went to dinner with a GF tonight. First night out in a long time. I only have two things left to do this week for class; one quiz and then one essay, but it doesn't have to be very long so it won't take long to do it.

The essay has to do with preservation of records. We're supposed to spend two hours working on a project that will help preserve some of my records and then write about the experience. Several years ago I bought a little gadget called a Wolverine. It converts negatives to digital images. I have tons of negatives that I've accumulated taking pictures over the years and have wanted to scan them somehow on to my computer and then put them on flash drives to save them. That's what this gadget does. I finally tried it out tonight and IT WORKS! I was able to scan two pictures of one of my granddaughters when she was about two. They are saved on a memory card and then I can upload them to my computer. This project is going to take some time to complete, but at least I got it started. Now I just have to write about it.

Good Morning! We are to get a bit of snow, they say 5-7 inches and I know parts of the east are to get lots more! I will be at church tonight, getting set up for Camp Stamp-in-Oga. The snow is supposed to come during that time and into the night, so tomorrow morning will be a snowy, winter wonderland! I have my challenge cards done and I am mostly packed with a few projects to work on. I also have 7 paper boxes of rummage items to bring over and I hope all of it sells..... or a good deal of it! I hope you all have a Fantastic Friday and a Wonderful Weekend--be safe with the winter weather!

Congratulations, Shelly, on your win!

Maggie- thank you! He's definitely living it up - I only had a couple of pictures to add to Facebook becuase he's awful about sending them! He said he would show us all of them when he got back IT snowed last night, which he has seen several times before, so that was sweet! They have been EVERYWHERE in a short time - what an amazing trip so far.

We had some sad news yesterday ~ Tony's aunt in Spain passed away after contracting the flu. She was 88, full of life. One thing I've learned about European folk is they have a healthy lifestyle - and longevity is common. She practically raised Tony and they were very close - we've met her several times in our travels and even stayed with them for a week. I'm so sad for him

When will little man be home?

So sorry for the family's loss. That is quite a distance. Will he be able to go to the funeral?

Ugh! I got stood up for dinner tonight. Got to the restaurant on time and waited just a few minutes before texting my GF because she's usually there ahead of me. She called and said sorry, I forgot!!!!!! Anyway, we'll try for next week. I've got to finish up my school work and then work on some card kits.

Default Hi

Hi ladies- snow has started here : ) Like Barb, we have 5-7" predicted here.

I am still dragging ya'll. I slept until noon today, eyes opened briefly at 8AM when my alarm went off- I had it set every 5 monites 4 times....so I slept through alot of noise. No temp, just sinus' and headache...... I was scheduled for ESL today- so embarrassed, but my body was not having it.... I texted my students daughter and said so sorry : (

I was supposed to give blood last evening, but they suggested I wait a few days....LOL OK, so I am glad I waited now....

Chris & Kayla (Colorado kids)sent news they are expecting a BOY! She is 22 weeks now, so 18 weeks will pass quickly, I am sure! All of the Schmidt nephews that have kids- all boys. One Schmidt niece (her last name is not Schmidt by marriage) has a daughter...... My DIL is from a family of 3 girls, so her mom will enjoy a boy baby : ) Although, her Mom is the only girl and has 4 brothers in her family of 5......

Yes, Ray is still sorting. He is selling a few things on Craigslist and Wheaton Mom's. We had about 5 sleds, so he threw one out, and sold two. The ones we had are not sold anymore and are very nice. But, they were collecting dust...so....

I am sorting Mom's stuff still- a little at a time. I took 2 walkers and her wheelchair to the facility where she lived- they were happy to have them. I have a big garbage bag FULL of shoes and sandals..... I did mention she liked to shop, right? Too bad her feet were much smaller than any of ours..... And, LOTS of clothes to take for donation.

I signed up to volunteer at a Crisis pregnancy center- I was told that nurses are trained to do ultrasounds. I think that would be so amazing- the work of God! I only volunteered one day a week, as I do not want to get overwhelmed. With my bible class at church- for which it looks like there is a bit of reading and ESL, and piano, I think that I will stop. I am also going to be trying to create more cards : ) We'll see.....

Barb- hope your sale is successful. How often is that camp? One of these days, I have got to get up to Wisc to visit- that would be a riot!

Maggie- God must have had other plans for you. That happened a few months ago, a friend Pat arranged lunch, and we went to meet her- 3 of us and Pat did not show up. She forgot- had it on her calendar as the following day. Pat has been diagnosed with stage 4 Uterine cancer..... I have been stopping by every couple of weeks, but staying away when I am not feeling the greatest- with chemo she has no immunity!

Lynn wrote on her blog she was packing up her house and moving..so I imagine she will stop in when she can. I seee Kristi on IG, she is still doing the fashion posts.

Jeanette- glad you are home before the snow rolls in. Glad Brocks meeting was not too painful- an hour is not terrible.....

Kelly- awww, hope the baby is sleeping! When my kids were teething, they always got ear infections! I gave them Tylenol and Motrin if they were fussy.
Glad your son is having fun and adventure filled time in NYC!
Sp sorry about your hubbies Aunt passing. That is a good long life!

Maxine- I cound need a ride too, if you want to come visit and drive me around. Tell your daughter sorry! LOL We could stamp and I will cook and make you good dinners : ) We will have snow : ) I am not sure of your landscape there, but it is flat, flat, flat here- no mountains, hills, just FLAT!

That is all I know at the moment..... I am sure if I sign off I will think of something.

Oh- I had a post that went poof, and hubby told me to hit ctrl and the z key, and it returned..... cool

Thanks for the FYI about the winning (random number) I do not think I have any Imagine That images..... fun

Shelly

Oh Shelly, I love your long and thoughtful post! So much going on in your busy life - and you keep up so beautifully! Congratulations on the boy bundle to be!

I'm sure it's hard, but necessary, to sort and donate - I did that with my dad. But it took well over a year. I took it all to church one day and my husband looked like he was going to pass out. I just had to be ready. I was.

Look at Ray go! I wish my husband would sort! He's a semi-hoarder! I take it to the curb, he sneaks it back in, I pretend I don't see ...... LOL

Stay safe in the snow, girls! I am SO WORRIED about my son flying out but I trust in God's safe keeping. I can't wait to see my boy!! The memories and stories - he's been very busy and mum so I don't know a lot and have seen even less photos. That's the difference of sending my girls. They text every 10 minutes and send pictures blowing up my phone. My son. I say goodbye and the next time I see him, hello again - nothing in between!

Maggie, happy birthday to your DGS! 20! a magical age! I'm only 9 off of that, so, I mean, I'd know ....... LOL!!! Snort. I am sure he's enjoying his best life. I'm sorry your friend forgot your dinner date. I'd meet up with you anytime if I could!!

My floor is about dry so I'm sure another chore is waiting for me - MEH!

Happy Saturday!

Good Afternoon--Happy Sunday. I am posting today as I do not think I will get a chance tomorrow. Our nephew's family is coming later today and we are going to a Milwaukee Bucks game tomorrow afternoon. They live in Chicago and wanted to see the new Fiserv Forum arena--and we have not been inside yet either. The tickets for the afternoon game are a pretty good price as many don't have school in our area. We did get about 4-5 inches of snow Friday night and it did not affect our Stamp Camp yesterday at all--other than a few ladies from farther away decided to not chance it as southern and eastern parts of the state got much more! I took second place with one of my card challenges and won a pack of the new foil. The rummage sale was successful, though we had less shoppers and less tables of items. I did okay I think as I have not seen the totals yet and for the first time ever, I did not buy anything at the sale! I completed 3 sets of swap cards so it was successful for me that way too!

I hope you have a great Sunday and a Marvelous Monday too!

Shelly--Camp is held three times a year--January, June and October. 6/22 and 10/19 this year. No dates for 2020 yet-but we usually set them in the late spring. Hope you can join us sometime!

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

FYI - We are leaving early tomorrow morning to head out-of-town for a 2-day meeting, so you won't see me on SCS the next couple of days.

Good morning! I went to DD's for dinner last night to celebrate DGS's 20th birthday! I can't believe we don't have any teenagers left in our family. We played a new card game called Cover Your Assets. It was easy and a fun game. My DGD beat me out about 35 points. It's all about luck and strategy.

Barb, congrats on your 2nd place win and selling stuff at the rummage sale. I'm having dinner tonight with my GF that stood me up on Friday. I'm hoping to get her help in selling stuff I have in my garage and maybe my stamping stuff. She had a second hand shop for years - sold all kinds of stuff including antiques. Last year she sold all her shops but right now is trying to earn some extra cash after she had a small fire in her house. Needs to do some repairs.

Kelly, glad that DS got home okay from NYC. I'm sure he'll have tons of stories to tell and pictures to look at.

Shelly, you do keep busy. Love hearing about everything that is going on. So sorry though for your friend Pat. Prayers that the chemo will help eradicate the disease.

Yesterday I thought my sore throat was coming back. I started having a sore spot on the right side of my throat, but came home from DD's and took some Vitamin C and some Tylenol and it seemed to go away. I hope it stays away. From what my DD said last night I think my DGD may have had the same thing. She's on her 2nd Zpac. I told my DD that my EMT said that ZPac wasn't strong enough for the throat infection. She said if it didn't work this time, she'd tell the doctor to give her something stronger.

Going to see if I can be productive today. Will try to get some schoolwork done and I have an errand to run later when I go out for dinner.

Looks as though it 's summer again for a few days and I have been out in the garden today - as well as babysitting and then entertaining the same family later in the day.... and reading - until I finished my book!

Jeanette is on the run again - safe travels Jeanette

Barb - congrats on your second placing and sales - and well done on mot buying more stuff

Kelly you still take on life at full speed - great to hear the DS enjoyed the Big Apple and survived the trip... and that you did too!

Maggie I do hope the throat issues are over and that irritation is an echo not a flare-up!

Shelly it's always good to catch up on your news - the sorting and disposing and formalities after the passing of a loved one always seem to take forever... (((((hugs)))))

Yes, we are getting another round of snow this afternoon--5 to 7 inches! Then cold again--it was -10 yesterday morning and will be that way for the rest of the week. We had a great time at the Bucks game yesterday for MLK Day! They won and it was our first time at the new arena--it is beautiful! I have a dentist appointment this morning and then the rest of the day in the stamp room--I still need to unpack all of my stuff from camp and pack up three swaps to mail. I hope you have a great day too!

So glad you are all my kind of crazy!! LOL!

Happy TOOSday!

Maggie, thank you for your kind words - your posts are always so thoughtful! I do hope you are feeling better, and with the cold snap Texas just received, that everyone stays healthy! Did I ever tell you my daughter (Chrissy - the creative one who gave me my new blog series title! Love her!) boyfriend has family in Paris? (as in Paris, Tx!) When he said he had family in Paris, I was like Oh hello, when can we visit! LOL! I looked it up on the map and it seems pretty north - but you never know!

Maxine, you make me smile! Yes, I survived! He had SUCH an amazing time, even dyed his hair pink (on a dare - um, okay!) for Mean Girls, the Broadway play! Too funny.

OH FRIENDS! If you could spare a prayer! I know it sounds silly, and I get asked this A LOT, why why why do you guys APPLY to High School? Doesn't everyone go? YES. But it's a magnet performing arts school, so you basically apply and audition. He auditions on Thursday! I am a NERVOUS WRECK. It's the school that his sisters went to and we just love it ♥ Thank you!

Safe travels to Jeanette in the storm! Waving to Barb, Shelly!

It is a snow day in SE Wisconsin as most of the schools are closed in my area. We had about 4" over night and another 4-5 are forecast this morning. The good thing is no blowing--yet! But it is to be very cold by the end of the week with temps below zero overnight and into the day! I plan to spend the day in the stamp room--Yay for Me!

I sure wish it was toasty warm here! It's so cold and I hate the cold. At least the rain has stopped. Made for a messy commute this morning. It was good that I left the house a little early. Good too that my boss was out of town today. Yeah!
I did spend all day Monday doing school work. I still have a discussion post to do for one class that has to get posted tonight, and I haven't a clue what I'm going to say.

I would stay in also Barb. No sense in being out in that weather.
I will say a prayer for Little Man to get into the school of his choice. We have magnet schools here also, so I know how that goes.

I wish I could say that I am better, but I'm still having some throat issues. It's just really scratchy and not burning like it was before. I don't know if it's the throat infection coming back or what. I didn't have a good rest last night so I decided to start taking the antibiotics I have again. I'm only going to take it 3x a day every 8 hours so I don't have to take it in the middle of the night. I'll also drink more water with it which means I'll probably be up in the middle of the night anyway. I'll see by tomorrow how well I feel and if not, then I'll call the doctor again. This cold weather is not helping.
I did get out for lunch today with one of the girls I went to Pathway with. We are trying to keep in touch and getting together for lunch every so often. This time it's been since before Thanksgiving. I was glad my boss was out of town so I didn't have to rush back from lunch.
