Continued prayers for Shelly and mom - I read in the other thread, too and just know you will all make the right decision for her/you all. You are a blessed daughter.

I hope everyone is gearing up for some fun memorial day activities - I think ours will be a mixed of planned activities and some much needed down time!

You most likely need the help Shelly. Don't keep stretching yourself too thin. You'll end up sick.

Yes, the college is online. No way could I actually go to school. I've taken enough classes online so I think I will be disciplined enough to do this.

I am making no plans for Memorial Day except to be at home. I sure hope I can get some stamping time in.

Yesterday I found a camel in our yard--today a sheep! That is because I need to cut the grass this morning and hope that it does not grow too much in the week we are gone. I was not able to get into the stamp room yesterday as I had a few errands that took longer than I thought--but today I will be there for sure!

Yes Kelly - it's nearly the end of Friday here!!

I am still alive - have had 5 days looking after the grandies, and by the end of the day I was so tired I would not have made sense if I had tried to write anything!!

I got home about midnight on Wednesday (the flight home for the parents was delayed, and then the weather from the airport home was appalling), then yesterday was frantically busy with church meetings, one of which was out of town.... thankfully my pastor drove, as the weather on the way home had deteriorated again. [No Jeanette I am not trying to compete with you.... ]

Last night we had at least three thunder storms - one was the worst I think I have ever experienced with lightening constantly flickering and a constant roll of thunder - Awesome, but way too cold to get up and watch - there was also hail in amongst it all to!! After such a broken night I slept until after eight this morning.

I am aiming to have both Saturday and Sunday (well any spare time I may have) in the studio... I am accumulating way to much NBUS and need to remedy that!! Never mind the fact that I have need of three sympathy cards plus birthday cards... oops and I need to buy a couple of birthday presents too. Was writing in an anniversary card today and burst into tears... go figure!!

Waving to you all from a wet and cold Friday evening Down Under

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Maxine, we missed you while you were busy with the grandies and such. I'm sure glad you weathered the storms okay... sounds like they were quite active. I'm hoping you can stay home for a wee bit and rest up now. Sending (((HUGS))) your way. Those Anniversary cards can be painful, for sure.

Yes, Kelly.... it is!

Barb, I hope your lawn plan works out for you! I'd offer to come mow it for you while you're gone... but I don't mow grass. In fact, while DH and DD are gone for their trip west (2 weeks), he is going to hire someone to mow the grass. He'll do so again when he goes to England in July.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Inky Friends! Happy Friday!! Happy Pre-Memorial Day Weekend!!!

I did get everything completed outside yesterday and even a few more items that were not on my list. I also spent some time in the stamp room organizing my SU cardstock. I took out all of the retiring cardstock and bagged up some of the colors I do not want, added the inkpad and re-inker to sell at the rummage at camp in June. I also went through my retired cardstock and pulled out some of those I no longer want and packaged some of those too. My ink pad holder and file drawers look at bit empty--but are ready for the new SU colors! I should do the same with my SU stamp sets, but that is harder as I just know I will use one of those stamps in the future!

We will leave early tomorrow morning, heading to Glen Ellyn, Illinois first to stop at Rebecca's nephew's house as his daughter's graduation party is later that day. We will stay for a bit to chat, but hope to be on the way to Springfield by noon to see the Lincoln museum and other sites. I am taking my laptop along, but I am not sure how often I will be online. We are both excited about Nashville and a road trip!

Have a great day, a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and a great start to the new week!

Default Hi

Maxine- you have been busy! The kids sure have alot of energy, don't they. Too bad that cannot be bottled up and sold! LOL Big Hugs for you! I hope you get to your craft space and have a fabulous time!

Maggie- online classes sound so wonderful. I know a college prof that hates them, says you have no idea who is actually taking the class..... on the other end of the computer. And, she says it is more work for her.

Breathing deeply.....Just sent mom off with my sister for her son's college graduation..... And hubby is golfing. And puppy is back at my daughter's in Chicago- I am home ALONE, and it is so quiet you could hear a pin drop........ Heavenly!!!
I have a wedding card to make for today- wedding starts at 5:30. I broke my toe earlier this week, so need to get out and see if I can find something to wear to the wedding that won't hurt...I have 3 pairs of white sandals- all hurt me. LOL I guess I will not be doing too much dancing tonight- I usually enjoy dancing all night long.....

Oh Barb- Glen Ellyn is the next town over from Wheaton.......Dang!!! We are on the South side off Butterfield/Rt 56. I wish I had checked in yesterday, would have tried to meet you for lunch or something......
ANd, have a great lunch with Jeanette- so awesome!

It is 90 and humid here. I sweat like a pig- oh wait, pigs do not sweat, they roll around in the mud : )

Hope you all have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!!

Shelly

Remembering our military on this day of reflection ♥

Shelly - ouch! Like you, I've done that and know your discomfort - hope you find some shoes that fit the job and rest when you can! Did mom make it okay?
And watch that toe, especially if you roll in the mud

Good Morning SCS Friends--checking in from rainy Nashville! The effects of Alberto are being felt here and it is to rain all day today and for the next few. We did go for a hike in the rain today and it was not too hard--but it supposed to be harder this afternoon. We walked around Broadway Street for a bit yesterday and it was pretty warm--listened to some great music. We also took a hike at another state park in the morning, before it got very hot. We had a great supper at a barbeque place where you had to wait in line--so it was good! We had a good road trip down and I did get a chance to visit with Jeanette and meet her daughter for Sunday lunch. We explored the Lincoln museum on Saturday and walked through the Lincoln Memorial Park later that day. We do have some sights to visit that are inside, so if the rains do come, we still will have a good time I am sure...……………… Have a great day!

Shelly--we were only there for an hour or so--dropping off Rebecca's sister--grandmother to the graduate. We had a quick bite to eat, chatted with everyone for a bit, watched the graduation video and left. Next time maybe-we are there a few times a year. Rebecca has another niece that also lives in Wheaton--on Pierce Ave.

So glad you made it home safe and sound Maxine. I don't like thunder storms and would have been in bed with the covers pulled up over my head. I have no desire to get up and look at it.

Shelly
Oh Shelly, so sorry about your broken toe. I know that hurts. I hope you found some comfy shoes and had a good time at the wedding.

My two online instructors that I have now I'm sure have a ton of extra work. My Religion instructor does better than the Creative Writing instructor in keeping up with the workload. They both teach other school during the day. I need to get on the ball and get my application finished and turned in. I really would like to talk to a counselor first. I may see if I can do that when I get home tomorrow night.

Hi Stamp Addicts! I had to finish up two cards tonight so now I'm even further behind in my school work. I think this has been the most demanding week that we've had since the start of this program.

Besides school, I was contacted to do some research work for a PI firm in Phoenix. I was at the Library all day from 10-5 on Saturday and looked at 30 years worth of telephone directories on microfiche. I only had to look up certain names so it wasn't the whole phone books. I was looking for businesses so it was the business white pages and yellow pages. I didn't get it all finished though. I had to do up to 2018. I took off work early today and went back to get it finished up. All I need to do now is finish up my invoice and then get it sent off so I can get paid and then send off the flash drive with all the images on it.

Off to get some sleep.

All is well in my world - I have had to get a new printer and because it loads from the back i have had to totally re-organise my computer desk... and tidy it!!

We have had sunshine and frosts all week, and now we have a long weekend it's going to be wet - not that I was planning on going anywhere apart from my studio!! I have managed a few cards this week, but I still need 3-4 sympathy cards and a birthday card!! Long weekends don't really make a lot of difference to me these days

I have kept up with the thread, and it's good to see Jeanette's daily posts, Shelly's occasional digests, and Kelly, Maggie and Barb popping in regularly - anyone heard from Darlene, Kel and Kristie??

I was quite pleased with myself to be able to get a card done for the coffee lovers blog hop - and hopefully I will get some colouring done too this month.

Waving to you all from Friday evening here down under

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

YAY for free Starbucks, Kelly! (I love when I get one, too - but not nearly as often as you earn one, I'm sure!) YES! It would have been fantastic if you'd joined Barb and I, too!

Maxine, now that you're all tidy (and enjoying a new printer, too) you surely will be ready to get to the studio and make some amazing cards!

Waving to everyone else, too!

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning--Happy Friday! We are starting our trek home this morning, with a stop in Louisville and then an overnight stay in the Indianapolis area. It has been a great vacation and even with some rain, we still did pretty much everything we wanted-including a hike every morning in a park. We saw the Grand Ole Opry last night and that was a fantastic end to the day! We also went to the Hall of Fame and they really have lots and lots of wonderful displays! We were also fortunate to snag tickets for the Bluebird Café for Wednesday night and saw four great upcoming performers--we will be watching for them. Of the 4 Lyft drivers we have had, three are also here to try to get a record deal--and most of the wait staff we have talked with too. We met one young lady from England at a restaurant and went back two more times to eat/drink and visit with her. She has a brother who is moving to SE Wisconsin too. Sophia is a singer/song writer who has been in Nashville 12 years, still hoping ……………... OK--enough for now--breakfast is almost ready and then loading the car. Have a Wonderful Weekend!

Happy Friday! Woohoo! We have a busy weekend lined up but the end of the school year is in sight! 4 more days!

Hi Jeanette and Kermit!

Maxine sounds like a good plan to hit the studio and make your beautiful cards. I'm struggling now to move my desk (and all the bins, etc) back to my room or not. I can't get anything done in the space I have now (it's grand central station in my house, and it's right off the back living room, which means the tv/chatter/cooking in the kitchen all within 5 feet!) It's distracting and nonproductive ...... that might be my first week of summer project, LOL!

Safe trip home, Barb! I think the musicians turned waiters/drivers is an all too reality for way too many talented artists. I think a lot of it is who you know and a stroke of luck. Sounds like a fantastic trip, even with some rain - enjoy Louisville!

It is picking up a lot sooner than I expected it to. I had an email from another person today wanting me to get 3 obituaries for him. Problem is I don't really have the time right now to do that unless I can do online. I need to check the Public Library. I was able to get one from there when I was doing my class last year.

I don't see that Shelly was on here today. We were supposed to chat tonight, but she doesn't answer her phone. I hope nothing happened to her mom.

I hope to have time to get in my craft room this weekend. I should have some time tomorrow. I have 3 posts to do for my blog that I am behind on.

Glad that you are able to get some stamping done even if not enough for your needs.

I see Kel on Facebook a lot, but nothing from Darlene or Kristie. I am friends with Kristie on Goodreads, so I can tell you what books she's reading.

I can't imagine having to deal with all the traffic and try to get a card made! It will be great to get back into your room. Has DD moved out of there now? Is that the one that got married?

Today was the last day of school for most all of the kids in our area. It will be so nice to drive to work in the mornings without all the school traffic.

Default Hi

Sorry Maggie. I flaked out tonight! I have been looking at Memory Care for my mother, and filled out something online and calls are coming in with messages, so I turned the volume down on the ringer, mostly so my Mom cannot hear messaged if they leave them.......

Ray was gone the last 3 days to Virginia to help Stephi move. I have been busy, and was not disappointed when my ESL student cancelled this AM....

My sister and I spent the entire day yesterday looking at Memory Care facilities for my Mom.... : ( We went through an agency the hospital gave me the name of, and have an ETA of around July 1. We just have to talk to family members who may not be on board. Ray and I just are at the point where we cannot go for a walk or ride a bike and it is just too much!

We are going to Colorado in a week, mom will go to my sisters home for the week... I cannot wait! We will visit with my son and his wife, flying into Montrose, so will visit my nephew in Telluride for a day or two. I have never been there, so looking forward to getting away and spending time with son and DIL and my nephew.

When we get back, the following day my sister is hostessing her Grandson's birthday party- he will be 3. He is liking dinosaurs, and when Ray and I walked the dog today, we stopped at a neighborhood garage sale- TONS of dinosaur toys. They are so expensive brand new. So, texted nephew and wife and they said- YEAH- but please! Mom and I will give him the toys for his Bday and there are plenty of them! I have them all washed and drying now. How fun!

My daughter and the dog were here just for the day. He was so excited and out of control when he arrived, better after he calmed down. He is OK until he gets excited- and he is BIG and strong! LOL

Hugs to all!
Shelly

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Barb, I'm glad you've been enjoying your trip... I hope the trip home goes/is/was a smooth one!

Kelly, it would be rough to create in the conditions you have been dealing with - the constant "traffic" would make it challenging to create, at least for me. I hope you figure out a solution that works better for you.

Maggie, there is a great need for people with your expertise, hence the phone calls and requests you're receiving. You are going to help others in a way most people can't!

Shelly, I know this has not been an easy journey and now needing to make tough decisions. My heart is with you and your siblings... and of course with your mom, too! (((HUGS)))

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No worries Shelly. It was great to get a little chatting done with you. I'm sure that you and the family will make the best decision for your mom. After all, it is all about what is best for her and you and Ray just can't keep up with her needs anymore. Hugs and prayers.

Colorado sounds like it will be a fun time. You definitely need that.
