Good Morning Ladies! It has been awhile since I have checked in here! I do hope to spend some time in the stamp room after I have a dentist appointment for a cleaning. And, I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday Too!

Maggie--that concert sounds wonderful!

Shelley--I did watch a bit of golf on Saturday, but I was not home Sunday. The winner is a pretty awesome guy! He has a special needs sister and is so sweet to her!

Kelly--keep busy! And, congrats to your DS about his newest trip!

Jeanette--welcome home!

Maxine--that beading looks great!

Hi Girls - Jeanette we would never forget you!! Lovely to have you back

Barb that is bobbin lace making, not beading - all good if you have never seen it before, and I can see why you may think that.

Shelly the lace is worked diagonally, and one repeat of approximately 1cm takes 30 - 45 minutes to complete - I am not a fast worker

Kel it's good to see you - hope you don't get brain strain with all the study and work too.

Kelly I am glad to hear your son made it home thrilled to bits about the week away - sorry to hear your health issues are ongoing.

Kristie - hope we see you here soon

Darlene I pray you are well and that life is treating you well

I saw a card Lynn had made the other day on IG - it's a wonderful one.

I had the sun damaged bit taken out of my face on Monday - not too uncomfortable overall, I think there are 5 external stitches to be removed on Monday at the local GP's.

I got three cards made on Sunday afternoon, and managed to get them all photographed and onto the right place in the computer.... thankfully.

There are signs of spring starting to show here, finally, although we have a cold blast heading up the country tomorrow..brrrr, as it will be wet and cold, but then the next few days after that are sunny and cold. I have some miniature daffodils flowering, which is very hopeful , and the buds on the Daphne are showing colour...

Hugs and waves to you all from down under.

Good Morning, friends!

It's beach day! Waiting on my daughter to finish her shift as she heard the word beach and we are absolutely waiting on her - she needs a lot of cheering and love ♥ Dr gave me the a-okay as long as i keep my face covered (hat, glasses, which I always have both) and a net - ok, he's funny!

Maxine - your daffodils are gorgeous, and a beautiful shade of yellow ♥

Waving to all! I'm off to SEAS the day!

Good Morning SCS Friends. I was able to spend a few hours in the stamp room yesterday and that felt great! We had some rain overnight so I am waiting for things to dry so I can cut the grass. I also have a trip to the post office to mail the variety swap. Have a Terrific Thursday!

Yes, little man is home and we heard all about his adventures for days - he had SO much fun! The only part that was bad, he says, was the food :*( Even the leaders said it was really bad - almost inedible, lol. He did get his care packages and had lots of snacks - plus they were so busy, they didn't notice. He looks taller and thinner!

Tomorrow he goes on an exclusive merit badge day trip about mining and geology - 2 counties up. We leave at 5 am!

Waving to all!
Awwwww. . . what a cutie!
It was great. I loved it and I think she did too. She's not real talkative. The next one they have on the schedule for next season is Psycho! Can you imagine hearing that score played by the orchestra watching that movie. I still remember the first time I saw it and taking a shower still gives me the willies!

Yes, thinner because he didn't eat. I hope you are making up for all he lost while he was gone.

Hope you had a fun day at the beach. I used to love to go and sit on the beach under an umbrella and just listen to the waves coming in. I don't get down there much anymore. It's been years. On my meds I have to stay out of prolonged sunshine so I stay away.

Thought I'd check in to see how everyone is doing. This week has been another crazy one. Boss was in an arbitration hearing M-W so he was busy. It was supposed to be all week, but they got done early. Okay with us because we still get paid.

Got my grade back from my last report. It was an 85! I could kick myself sometimes because they were dumb mistakes. Forgot to include a couple of citations. Now on to Forensic Genealogy which is interesting right now. It has to do with DNA too which is kind of hard to figure out. I'm doing another report that I'm having fun with. It has to do with a GF at work. She's our receptionist. She's so happy that I picked her to do my report on.

My repair guy brought back my hummingbird bench today after sanding and refinishing it. It looks great, but he told me that the wood is not real good since it was out in the weather so much so it has to stay out of the weather now or else the wood will just rot. He left it on my patio, so I moved it around and put it in front of my dining room window out there. I"ll probably actually use it on the patio. I didn't ever hardly sit on it when it was out on the lawn. I thought he was going to come by and get paid, but hasn't shown up yet.

Just talked to a dear friend. She had breast cancer surgery about 2 weeks ago and just found out that she needs to go back and have another surgery. They took some tissue while they were in there for pathology an found cancer in them so now she's got to go and have that removed. I wanted to take her some treats tomorrow night because it's her birthday, but she's not up to it. She's not eating so good yet. I'd appreciate any prayers you can spare for her.

I got an email today that Creating Keepsakes Convention is coming to the Houston area the end of August. I'm thinking that I may go and take some classes. I was hoping to get together with some of my stamping friends from around the country, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen, so I'm going to check out what classes they have. I'm considering one from Heartfelt Creations.

Maggie--sounds like a fun convention. That one has not been close to me, but I am heading to the Chicago area for the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in August. The vendor hall is supposed to be 2-3 times bigger than the one we have in Milwaukee.

Morning everyone. Brrr, it feels more like Fall here than the end of July. Crazy weather.

I hope to be creative today, haven't felt the love but think it's possible today

Barb, that exhibit hall sounds like it would be worth the trip.

Maggie, I haven't attended Heartfelt Creations' classes, but do have a number of their stamp & die sets, subscribe to their online emails, and view their You Tube tutorials often. They are REALLY good! I'll bet with your advanced coloring skills you would really get a lot out of their classes.

Maxine, Daffodils are my absolute FAV flower! They always make me smile. The valley where I grew up in Washington State was bulb farming country. Acres and acres of daff's, looking like they continued right up to the base of Mt. Rainier. Hard to describe how beautiful it was.

Anyone ever make a Tent Card? Here's the link to the tutorial. Thinking I may give this a go and see what happens...

Good Morning Ladies. Happy Weekend. I am dog sitting for a week as Skokie's owners, Penny and Kathi, along with Rebecca and Claudia are headed to Colorado today to join Pat and Mary Beth for an 8 day backpacking "vacation" in the Rocky's. They will start the hike tomorrow--carrying 40# packs, looking for all water on the trail and purifying it, hiking over the Continental Divide and probably not enjoying the afternoon rainy weather that has been there for the past week or so and is forecast for most of the upcoming week. But--I am sure it will be a wonderful experience and there will be lots of stories.

I am flying out on Friday and along with Wendy, we will pick them up at the trailhead next Sunday. Rebecca and I then will spent the following week visiting some friends from church who moved to Colorado, along with some relatives and seeing some sights too. Skokie goes to another home on Thursday as his owners are also staying a second week and doing more hiking. This is the first backpacking trip for the 4 Wisconsinites--they all have day hiked in the mountains, but this is the first time camping too. Pat, while living in Colorado, has done this for years. She is a retired teacher, who also taught outdoor education--so they are learning from one of the best!

Not much on my agenda this weekend--a couple of errands, but enjoying the great weather here too. I hope you have a fantastic day!

I get their emails all the time too and look at all their projects. I think I'm going to sign up for 4 out of 5 classes they will be having. It's so hard to choose, but with 2 days I can get to most of the classes that I want to take and I'm thinking of signing up for a couple that I won't be able to attend, but will go by and get the packet to take home.

Barb, it makes me tired just reading about all the hiking and backpacking. Hope everyone enjoys it and has a great time.

I got outside yesterday morning while the air was still somewhat cool and there was a nice breeze. I needed to do some yard work that my prior lawn guy didn't do even though I was paying him to do it which is why he is no longer working for me. The guy who replaced him though does mowing and a little trimming and that's it. I needed to cut down some volunteer trees/shrubs that were growing where they weren't supposed to be. Two were in my gardenia bush and one was growing up in the middle of one of my rose bushes. I straightened up my passionflower vine trying to keep it on my side of the fence. I have yet to see any Fritallary butterflies at it. I got a large trash bag full of debris. Got the little bit of weeding done and cut down 2 small fig trees that were growing up next to the one I have out there.

After running errands and going to the grocery store, I was able to spend some time in my stamp room and hope to have some time to get in there later today.

Hi Girls,Had a wonderful weekend away - and as of tomorrow I start the countdown to my trip to Australia - organised the medical certificate today - had to show that the meds I will be carrying with me are legitimate!! I will also be organising the $$ soon too

We did visit a small paper craft shop over the weekend, but I was careful not to buy much as I want my dollars for later in the month. You know what they say about the grass being greener ...

Had the stitches out from my face this afternoon, and it is more comfortable now. The nurse seems to think it looks good........ will wait and see one the steri strips come off.

Your yard sounds as though it is a lot of work Maggie - mine is a mess at the moment, but we have had some severe frosts these past few mornings (-5 oC) and all is icy - the roses have yet to be pruned, and I must do that before I go away, if nothing else!

Sounds like a wonderful show to go to Maggie!

Barb you really are an energiser bunny - or just like Kelly on coffee

Kelly I hope all is well with you, and the driving is not so tedious this coming semester.

Darlene I hope the muse visited you and you got something done

Great to see you got back safely Jeanette, and had a good time whilst away!

Shelly I hope you can craft while caring for you Mum - it must be so difficult at times, and other time so rewarding!

Waving to you all from down under - or is that just me holding up my shivering hand???

Oh, Maxine- Australia sounds fabulous! How many hours on an airplane is that for you? 24 for me : ) Glad the stitches are out and you got a good report. Your daffodils are just beautiful- and how do they live through frosts of 0.5 C? Brrrrrr!!!What was the temp at the beach?

Maggie- the DNA section sounds especially exciting! I have had both of my parents submit a sample, and over 10 years, Dad has zero 0 or 1 matches...... all surnames are different than his- and varied too. Mom has zillion of matches, many very close.....
Good you are getting in a bit of time in your yard!
As far as our caterpillars, we started with three, just saw one earlier in the week- it got really big and now gone- Ray thinks went to find a place to make a chrysalis. I saw another about an inch or so long yesterday AM, it is gone today : ( Next time, we are going to bring a plant in the house and let it form the chrysalis inside to keep it safe. We do have a wren house full of chirping babies, and they feed the babies bugs (although I hear caterpillars do not taste good).

Jeanette- welcome back! I am sure your trip went well- and was very worthwhile too!

Kelly- hoping you enjoyed your day at the beach! I saw a pic somewhere- your feet & legs sunning : )

Darlene- hope the creative bug got a bite out of you ...hehehe I can only imagine growing up where there were fields and fields of bulbs like daffodils- that had to be magnificent!

Love the tent card- might have to give that a go!

Barb- your trip to Colorado sounds fabulous! And, sounds like our visits- Chris is our guide, he climbs and has his own Raft and of course, a mountain bike as well. I am jealous : )

Mom is doing well, she has kept me busy this week! We went to painting, which is a challenge for her. The place where my sis used to work has a grant with an Art therapist, so I drove up to my sis' Wednesday night, and we went for an Art Therapy session- it was pretty cool. All of the paint is dabbed on by the therapist, and she tells the client what to do- brush it across, dab it, etc.... Mom's painting came out well.

We were supposed to stop by my Aunts on the way up, she just moved into assisted living- she said don't come and caused a huge amount of drama...so we decided after the afternoon visit with my sis to stop there unannounced. Thankfully, it went very well...but...we did not get back until almost 9PM, mom was exhausted! Friday, I spent a bit of time creating- ahhhh- that was heavenly! Yesterday, took mom to a AAA baseball game (the team close to here is Arizona's AAA team) with fireworks after the game. It was organized by the nurses where I used to work, so I did not pay too much attention to the game...
Today, ran to my younger sis' house- she is moving into a new rental, just 1/2 block from where she used to live. It is only a 9 mos lease...so she will have to move again, but a much better situation for her family space wise and all.

Mom will go to my older sis' again this weekend- we have a wedding Friday and a gathering about 3 hours from here in Galena Ill on Saturday. Our close friends from college will be in town and have organized a party. It is a beautiful area- I am looking forward to it and seeing our friends as well.

Waving hello to all!
Shelly

Shelly it is about a three hour flight from Auckland to the east coast of Australia - I am flying in to Brisbane airport, and out of Sydney.

I planted the daffodils under the edge of the Daphne, but the seem to survive anyway - our -5 oC is the equivalent of 23 oF We have not gone over 51 oF today - there was fog in the morning, but some sunshine this afternoon....

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Maxine, your trip to Australia sounds awesome... a go to place on my DH's wish list, for sure! I hope you have a great time and smooth trip!

Barb, I love the Rockies, but would NOT want to hike them. Yikes! I can see why you are joining them later.

Shelly, you wear your mom out a lot. LOL! I'm glad the trip was enjoyable, but sorry about the late night that surely wore out more than just your mom.

Darlene, did you make the tent card? It really looks great in the link, and I'm anxious to see yours.

Maggie, WOW! You sure packed a lot of work/fun into your day.

Waving to everyone else and hoping you are all doing well!

Leaving a trail of friendly (((HUGS)))

Default Hi!

Waving hello to all!

We have finished our art class- I want to retake it, as the fall and Spring class is 6 weeks, so includes mixing browns and Grays and I think it would be very beneficial. Mom did VERY well today. The art therapist she worked with last week did some hand eye and Lt /Rt coordination work with Mom before they painted, so I did it today and Oh what a difference!!!

We are going to a wedding this Friday and Sat. will head to Galena (3 hours away) for a party with our friends from college- in from Washington (state). Since Mom will be at my sisters until Tuesday PM, I think we will spend the night in Galena or Dubuque (across the river). They are just home from a biking trip through Germany and Iceland : )

When I get home, hope to make a few cards for Dare to get dirty- ya'll know how I love trying different techniques!

Shelly

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

That's me, jumping with excitement!
This is the last day I'll be canning tomatoes this week -
in fact, most likely until next summer.

Barb, I hope you had a good day in the stamp room yesterday!

Shelly, I think it's great that you and your mom did the painting class together! Enjoy the wedding... and then Dare to Get Dirty!
