So sorry to hear this Maxine. Sending you big HUGS and lots of positive prayers for comfort and peace to know what the right decisions are for you and DH. Tough ones for sure.

Have a GREAT day!

Hope the weather wasn't too bad and you were able to have an enjoyable day shopping and stamping.

Went to my chiro on Monday and he showed me a couple of exercises to do for my left arm. I have tight muscles up in my left shoulder which affects my deltoid and gives me a lot of pain. On of the exercises, I lay on my right side and with my left arm at a 90 deg. angle, lift it up while holding a 1 - 2 lb. weight. Ouch! My deltoid does not like that, but I'm keeping at it.

I finished reading The Underground Railroad for our May book club. It was okay. I wasn't a whole lot impressed.

I'm now reading Swing Time. Just got started, so not sure how I'm going to like it and it's an actual real book and not on my Kindle.

YAY! I'm glad Kelly was wiling to give me a good deal... but it looks like she was going to make me have toward for it.

Maggie, I hope you're more impressed with Swing Time than you were with The Underground Railroad.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Hmmmm.... did anyone notice my tardiness this morning? I've been busy here at the house and am just now making it to the computer. That is not my normal pattern, but today is a bit wonky.

I always miss you Jeanette, but I was a bit tardy myself this morning. My alarm went off at 5:30 and I turned it off. Decided that I needed a day off. it was GREAT! Kind of made me feel like I was retired! Oh, that can't come soon enough, but I'm holding out for another year. Got lots done around the house and a couple errands.

First stop was Joann's where I picked up some muslin to recover the under part of my sofa and love seat. The kitties have made holes in it so they go in there to hide. I hope to tackle that job tomorrow at some point. Next went to Lowe's where I got some florescent lights for out in my workroom. Then went to the grocery store. I needed to pick up some more Easter things for the kids. I've got 2 boxes packed up to mail tomorrow morning. I made a bucket basket for my DGS and I'm going to make one for my DGD also, but she's going to get 2 different kinds of cookies in hers unless I find some Vegan Easter candy at Whole Foods when I go there tomorrow.

Did my meal plan for the week before I went to the store, and I'm planning to make those 2 meals tomorrow also. It's going to be a busy day. I want all the Easter stuff done by tomorrow so I can take it to DD's on Sunday. Not sure what the family plans are for Easter, so I want them to have their goodies before hand. My sis and her family usually get something going for all of us, but of course, they haven't mentioned anything about it yet.

I got tired of waiting to hear from my nephew in law about doing some odd jobs around my house. It seems that he's too busy these days. Anyway, I found someone on my local online newspaper. He had 3 recommendations from various people for handyman type jobs. I called him today and he's going to come by Monday evening. I have a list!

I'm still working on the unmounting of my wooden block stamps. I feel like there should be something that can be done with the blocks and not just tossed in the trash. Same for the cases. I keep trying to figure out how I can recycle them.

We did not get any snow- but alot of rain this last week. My brother lives in the middle of an acre lot and has the river flowing at the end of the lot- it is creeping up his back yard with all of the rain...more predicted for the weekend too. Anyway, we are watching the bids and squirrels in the back- lots of activity, and the plants are greening up, trees are blooming early. The Magnolias are in full bloom already- so fragrant!

I have been trying to figure out the right dose for my nerve (pain) meds- the lower dose is a pinch "not enough", but the higher dose is making me very groggy- falling asleep in the afternoon. I am sure it will work out.

Maxine- your and hubby are on my mind alot and in my prayers! Sending blessings to you that you can be strong- and hoping you feel all of the love from all of your family and friends!

Kelly- wow- cannot imagine how busy you were for that high of sales all by yourself- yikes! But, Way to go girly!!! That is awesome!

Maggie- I gave some to a daycare- for use as blocks, and the rest to a SU demo here. SU people told me I was nuts, but with the Misti and its popularity, I think it will be fine in the future. I hope your year flies by- I do not miss work AT ALL!!!

Jeanette- glad it was just rain and no tornado's! I am enjoying watching your Bible Journaling. I have a cover for mine all stamped and ready to go- Sweet N Sassy has a set that has I love Bible Journaling and I love tea- LOL One time my Dad got upset with me (we were trying to tell folks they needed help,.....) and he told me if I got cut I would bleed tea....hahaha Probably true!

Barb- your energy level must be high- you are in/out and running so much! I tried classes with Mom, but I end up making her projects and mine, so thinking classes will be on hold for a while.

Have a great day- looks like we are going to have SUNSHINE here today- wahoo!!!

Waving hello to everyone!
Shelly

hi Girls - hope you have all had a wonderful weekend - it's Monday evening here and I have spent most of Sunday afternoon and then all of today at the local hospital - DH is now being re-hydrated as an inpatient... long story short.

Tomorrow we have to head up to Hamilton (an hours trip on a good day) to be assessed by the Dr at the Hospice ... lots of 'stuff' going on. Turns out that the fact that DH already had secondary cancers at the time of diagnosis was not really told to us clearly - a bit of a blow to hear it today. Prayers are deeply appreciated for us all.

Thanks so much for all your support these past few months.

Good Morning Everyone--Happy Monday! We had a wonderful weekend as we worked outside both days and we feel like a lot was accomplished! Still more to do, but it is good to be done with some at the beginning of May.

Morning everyone.

Maxine, Heartfelt prayers, I have some idea of how hard this is for all of you. I wish that there was something physical that we could do for you - like a hug or a warm meal. But know that you are in our hearts and in our prayers every day.
Peace & strength for these days.

Settled in the hospice and much more relaxed as a care plan is to be implemented, with an eye to a naso-gastric (NG from now on) tube in the short term, and if he responds well and picks up, then they may consider a J Peg.... the nausea issues are also being addressed and we feel well cared for and 'listened' to> Thank you for your prayers

Maxine, it's a big relief to be heard by the professionals isn't it? I am glad that at least you have that comfort & praying that he continues to improve with the NG and nausea.

Hope that you can get some rest to stay strong.

Good Morning Everyone! We went from temps in the 70's yesterday to the 40's today--and it dropped in one hour yesterday afternoon! I had a fun card class yesterday morning and spent the afternoon stamping away and finished one swap. I started to color the images for the second swap. I also have two challenge cards to work on today. Have a Terrific Tuesday!

I think things will work out with the new handyman. He really seems to be a Jack of all Trades. He's had a lot of experience in different areas besides being a man and knowing how to do a lot of different things. He came by after I got home last night which was a little later than usual because my Low Tire Pressure light had come on AGAIN on my way to work and I had to have that checked out. Turned out I did have another nail in one of the tires.

Today Mike was going to get the bulbs to replace in my security light over my garage and get a gate latch for my fence gate and replace that and fix it so it works better.

The rest of the stuff is inside so I have to be home, so he is going to come on Saturday to get started. Before that I have to go to Home Depot and get a new kitchen faucet set and some paint for the repair in the kitchen.
I probably need to get some for the bathroom too. I need to text him and see what kind I need to get. I can do that on Friday while I'm off work.

Had some drama of my own here at the office, but all is well today. The paralegal that caused it is out today - thank goodness! My boss is off to a mediation with our clients. If you could all say a prayer that it goes well for them. It's a custody thing and really should not have gone forward in the first place. Pray for a good outcome for them. Thanks.

Hi Girls - a tough day yesterday as after several tries the NG tube stayed put, but only for a few hours - today is 'routine maintenance', and will be until next Tuesday due to Easter weekend.... Family have visited today, and others are due tomorrow so that is great. Don't know when we will get home, but life at the hospice is pretty good - I got a free massage and we both got hair cuts yesterday - they care for both of us and are very supportive of us both.
If the NG tube gets in on Tuesday/Wednesday next week, we have weeks to months, if not, then weeks .
Hugs from a damp down under.

Maxine, my heart breaks for you and your DH and loving family. Let the workers there at hospice love on you and ease what they can. Sending lots of prayers your way. And (((HUGS)))

Maxine, you are such a strong woman. I can see it in the way you are handling yourself through this trial. I know that Heavenly Father has His arms wrapped around you, your DH, and your whole family to give you peace and comfort and the strength to endure. I'm so glad that the family are able to come and be with you both. That's wonderful that they are pampering both of you and seeing to your needs. Know that you are always in my heart and prayers.

Love Garfield.

The mediation itself went well. Everyone said that if they went to trial that we would win including the CPS Investigator. Problem was that the 2 Supervisors over her wouldn't let it go. They told them that they had opened a criminal investigation into the whole matter!!!!!!!!!!!!! CRAZY! So even if they went to trial today (which they didn't), the mark would be on this family until the child reached 18 years old. They agreed to take a polygraph test and then the guy that was supposed to do the test didn't show up at the place where they were to do it. My boss was trying all day to reach him and find out what happened and also trying to find someone else to do the test. As far as I know, it was still up in the air when I left at 5.

We also had a staff meeting today. I almost fell asleep during the first part of it. It lasted for an hour and a half. All I can say is that it made the afternoon fly on by.
