Tuesday, took one of my GF's from work out to lunch for her birthday (which is tomorrow, but she had plans with her bosses). We went to a new place called Dish Society. Food was fabulous and we both decided that we needed to go back there. I was supposed to have dinner with a girl from church that I visit with every month, but she had a migraine, so we had to call that off which worked out well for me because that's the day that I left early to go get milkweed.

Yesterday I left early to go to the dentist for my 6 month checkup. They did all the x-rays too. It took her no time at all to clean my teeth. The dentist then came in and looked at them and told me again that I had "great" teeth. Good to know. I'm not a milk drinker, but I do eat yogurt every day, so I guess that takes the place of milk.

Last night I went to visit another one of my church friends that I visit every month so it was a late night when I got home which is why I was out in the dark putting that butterfly cage together.

Tonight is Single Chicks and we're going to a place called The Korean House. I've not been there yet, but hear that the food is excellent. Lucky for me I have nothing planned for Friday or the weekend! yeah!

I do have to put together my blog post for Creatalicious. We have having a Blog Hop with lots of prizes. You have to hop around and collect either a number or letter from each blog. I did a Christmas card and love how it turned out. I really need to get going on my cards for this year.

Good Morning Friends. It is going to be another fall type day--wind, rain and no sun! They are saying a few more days of this and then back to maybe 70's next week. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Sorry it has taken me all day to get here. Spent most of the day working on my butterflies and caterpillars. I started out with a trip to Joshua's and got 2 flats of 4" pots. I transferred all the caterpillars that were in my makeshift tomato cage hutches onto these 4" pots and put them in the hutch. I'll probably have to change them out again tomorrow. The MIL of one of my sis's DD's wanted to come by and get some of my caterpillars. She got some plants some time ago, but hasn't had any butterflies visit and give her any eggs. So, I'm helping her out here at the end of the season so she can see little ones grow up into big caterpillars and then turn into butterflies. I have an overabundance, but she only took a few. After they left I went through all my plants and pulled out the good ones, the ones that needed to be trimmed. I covered up all the plants that still have a lot of leaves on them so the butterflies won't come and lay eggs. Besides trimming all the plants, I looked for eggs and trimmed off the leaves with eggs, put them on a wet paper towel inside a plastic box. It's an experiment to see if I can get them to hatch in the box. Then I'll transfer them to a potted plant. These are the last ones of the season for me.

OH, and I saw a caterpillar on my Passionflora. It's a Gulf Fritallary. Can't wait to see if it makes a chrysalis.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Happy Belated Birthday, Barb!

Maggie, I agree with Barb! But I can see how you might feel like their servant. LOL!

Maxine, did she share birthday cake with you?

I saw a beautiful wedding photo on FB, Shelly! I hope you enjoyed EVERY moment!

Well, I've been gone a few days... and now I'm home for nearly 2 weeks. DH is leaving on Wednesday (for a week) so I will be here with our Brock. We will do well. And DH will have a good trip. I have a To Do list of things I hope to get done while he's gone.

How's everybody doing? Any big plans for this week?

Leaving a trail of friendly (((HUGS)))

Good Morning Ladies--Happy Monday and Welcome to October! I have an errand or two today, and I plan to put up the Fall-Halloween decorations today. There is a part of me that always gets a bit sad when I do that as it does mean summer is over and winter is right around the corner. We still have pots and baskets of flowers on the deck--seems to be late to still have them flowering. I have not watered in over a week as we have had quite a bit of rain--but it will be up to the weather as to whether or not they continue to live............... I had a meeting yesterday in the middle of the state and it was a nice drive. When I left here is was in the 50's and raining, and 3 hours north, it was in the 70's and sunny! That is the weather coming our way now and it is good to finally see the sunshine here as it has been hiding behind clouds!

Have a Fantastic Start to the New Week and New Month!

Hi everyone! It's been a dilly of a day. Glad the bosses were out celebrating the Jewish New Year. I was busy. Then had my chiro appointment and he worked some more on my neck and arm/hand. I do feel a tad bit of an improvement, but it still has a long way to go. I had to do a chicken pickup today between 3 and 4. If you've never heard of them, I belong to Zaycon Foods. They do deals in food. Today I picked up 40 lbs. of all natural skinless chicken breasts. These are the best and I only paid $3.98 a lb. for them. They come hooked together, so I have to cut them apart in order to vacuum seal them. One pair was 23 oz. each! They looked like a turkey breast. After I got those I drove over to Joshua's for more milkweed. These guys have such appetites and they had striped all the plants that I bought on Saturday!!!! I had to scrounge around for some of my plants that I was regrowing and put them on those. Of course they were all gone by the time I got home. Unfortunately I didn't bring any plants home because I had forgotten that Joshua's is CLOSED on Monday. I put some on some more of my sparsely leafed plants and then I put some on some other plants that I have set aside outside the hutch. I can only fit about 8 or 9 pots in there. I did cover up the plants with the netting. I'll be going in to work late tomorrow so I can run over to Joshua's when it opens to get some more plants. Oh, and my experiment is working. I have some pieces of leaves with eggs on them sitting on wet paper towel and they are starting to hatch, so I'm going to have some more caterpillars! I spritz them every day to keep them moist.

I need to take some time and clean out my flower beds and see if I have to do anything for the Winter. Some things may need to be trimmed back. I know my rose bushes do.

For those of you who may be wondering about our Kelly in light of the pending hurricane that will be bearing down on her area soon... I've had a text from her. She is okay and as ready as one can be for such things as hurricanes. Fuel has been purchased (for all vehicles and the generator), needed groceries are in the house. School is letting out early today so she's making the commute to get her young'ns home... and there is no school for the rest of this week. Please keep Kelly and her family (as well as others who will be impacted by Matthew) in your prayers.

I saw on IG that Kelly and family were 'battening down the hatches' - they are in my prayers.

We are also due for thunderstorms in the next 24 hours, strong winds and possible tornadoes - fun!!!

DH had an endoscopy yesterday and things don't look very good in his esophagus - prayers appreciated. We will know more when the biopsy results come back in 10 days or so. This on top of everything else - character building to the max!!

Maggie your butterflies are thriving under your servanthood!!

Barb I am so glad you did not forget to post a certain card that arrived today - you are not as forgetful or confuddled as Jeanette would have us think!! (((((hugs))))).

The chicken breasts are HUGE and so good. Of course now with my grand daughter being Vegan, I don't cook them for my family anymore, so I have them all to myself.

Yikes! They have voracious appetities. It's amazing to see a little wormlike thing about 1/4" long transform into a big fat worm about 2" long and at least 1/4" in diameter. I am slowly getting them all into a chrysalis, so soon I won't have to be feeding them all the time.

thanks for the update on Kelly. I have friends and family down there, so sending up prayers for all who are in the path of the storm, that they will be safe from harm.

Maggie your butterflies are thriving under your servanthood!!

Barb I am so glad you did not forget to post a certain card that arrived today - you are not as forgetful or confuddled as Jeanette would have us think!! (((((hugs))))).
Yikes! I hope you all stay safe too Maxine.

Hahaha! Yes, they certainly are, the little critters! I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel though. Soon, they will all be hanging from the top of the butterfly hutch or outside on my house. Then the waiting begins for them to hatch into a beautiful butterfly. I hope I don't lose too many of them.

So sorry to hear about your DH. Sending up prayers for you guys that all will be well.

I finally had a butterfly hatch this morning. I'll see how it is when I get home tonight. I need to call the nursery and see if they got any plants in. I'm about at the end of my caterpillars. I've put netting over top of any of my plants that have leaves on them to discourage the butterflies from laying eggs. They need to fly down to Mexico for the Winder and I don't want to be taking care of them over the Winter. I do have a few in my house that I incubated, but that's it!!!!!! I have a ton of chrysalises in my hutch. The top is about completely covered in them and some have made theirs along my overhang and a few on the plants or pots. I have I think 4 or 5 in my butterfly cage in my house.

It was good to get away from them last night. Went up to the family history center at church and worked with a couple of patrons that come in.

I'm waiting for Frostbite (outside cat) to deliver her kittens. Not sure how long they are pregnant, but it seems like it's been a long time. I really don't want kittens, but I do hope that these survive. It was so sad last time when she lost all of them.

Here's the Kelly update as of this evening... it's windy... but it looks like the worst of Matthew is going to bypass her house.

Thanks for the update on Kelly, Jeanette.

Maggie you really have been a most faithful slave to those butterflies - and it is showing with so many in chrysalis stage. And now it is back to the cats -you really are most faithful to them.

Barb I hope you are enjoying your day

Anyone heard from/of Darlene of late?? Keeping her in my prayers, and Lynn.

We did not even get a thunder storm last night - most disappointing.

We have heard today that DH sees the specialist on Tuesday next week - very inconvenient - I have to postpone my stamp class , but such is life . I covet the prayers of those who are supporting us.

I am going to 'do' the 30 day colouring challenge next month, but I will be cheating a bit and taking photos of what I am working on now as I am not sure what the future will hold, and these will be my back-ups....

Have just heard from my sister in law that my cousin, who is only in her mid-fifty's has had a massive heart attack and as she did not get help instantly, there appears to be brain damage as well . The family have not told her mother yet - that will happen tomorrow.... it could be disastrous as my aunt is 87 and has heart problems too... To complicate the matter, my cousin was in Perth visiting her daughter. Oh the joys of life.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

After all, it's Friday, you know... time for some fun!

Maxine, your post is so sad - and not just the lack of thunderstorm. I am sorry to hear of your cousin's situation. Such a difficult time for her mom and the rest of the family as well as her own health. I'm sorry you'll have to reschedule your card class... praying for DH and the appointment, etc. (((HUGS)))

Leaving a trail of friendly (((HUGS)))

I know I have been really bad about checking in here and visiting blogs...going to try and start fresh.

Was hoping to see a post from Kelly to see how they fared in the hurricane. Friends of mine in Palm Coast (waaaaaay up the Florida coastline, about 2 hours northeast of Orlando) lost power a few hours ago and are still bracing for the worst to pass through.

Maxine, I will add your DH to my prayer list. I am sorry to read of another health issue for him. Also very sorry about your cousin that had the heart attack, I hope your aunt will be okay once she knows what is going on. Big hugs!

A quick wave hi to everyone else. I do miss you all. Seems like life hasn't slowed down much and I have been wrapped up in baseball. I will be sad when the playoffs are over, no matter how far my team makes it, as I really enjoy the sport and will be on pins and needles waiting for spring training to start!

Good Morning--Happy Friday. I have a card class or two this morning at my LSS and then hostess club this afternoon. Tomorrow we are heading to a college football game to watch my great-nephew play. Sunday, I have a board retreat for the Humane Society. We are to get some pretty cool temps tonight--maybe in the high 30's--Fall is Here!

Have a Fantastic Friday and a Wonderful Weekend!

Sending prayers to Maxine and her family.

Darlene is doing OK--struggling a bit at times. We have texted a few times lately and the big news is that she is coming to visit me again in January! She feels quite behind here on SCS--but will check in when she can.

Yes, Maxine - keeping everyone in my prayers. Hope the tests go okay for DH. So sorry to hear about your cousin. I hope that there is not serious brain damage and she'll make a full recovery.

Good luck on the Coloring Challenge. I should look into that. I find that with only doing 1 DT card, my mojo kind of slips out the door even though I have other projects to work on.
