Good morning, sweet friends!

I'm at the public library (have to do some research and little man's books came in so one stop shopping) and I'm trying my hand at the library's computers This is so funny that I actually have to leave my house to check in - ROFL!

This am we finished painting props for ds's school holiday show - I'm covered in candy cane red and gingerbread brown so hopefully I look fabulous in those two swatches of paint!

Shelly, BIL is moving to Colorado Springs My dh is having a hard time with it - he's very family oriented and doesn't want him to leave, but at 46, BIL needs to figure out what he's going to do with his life. Hopefully this is it!

Maxine, I'm glad dh is doing okay and hope the new rounds of meds are what he needs - that's the way of it, sometimes - just figuring out what works and what doesn't. And glad your summer is arriving! now that's two of us that have summer while the rest all have winter - LOL!

Maggie, you're so busy and I love your life! I love that you are so involved with the kids/gkids and your gal pals - I want to be Maggie when I grow up!

Waving to everyone and wishing I could chat longer - but gotta get back to work!
xoxo

Default Hello

Barb- enjoy Sunny Florida!!!

Kelly- as I am always saying, you will miss the busyness and contacts with parents when the kids are older and you are not doing it anymore : ) You may or may not believe me. I bet Red and Gingerbread colors look great with your blond hair...hehehe

Maxine- nice warm weather- we were just shy of 15 C here today (60 degrees), but was a tiny bit windy, so made it feel a little cooler. Glad hubby had a good medical report and hope he responds well to new meds. I am jealous of you getting to play with Grandkids.

Kristi- you are getting lots of cards done this month- hope you are almost ready for Christmas.

Lynn- you are so funny on your blog- are you sneaking wine into your crafting space???

Wondering if Jeanette is in her new house yet. Glad we are not getting snow now- that would sure make a move miserable...

Kel is also really busy- posting lots of cards, going to school- I do not know how you do it Kel!

Been running and a bit dingy- lots to do- went to a doc appt this week on the wrong day.... hehehe Today, had allergy testing for food allergies- and environmental too. Lots of food is related to environmental stuff apparently. Asthma- she called me uncontrolled, and I am allergic to Milk, eggs, Potatoes (white and sweet) and soy- those to avoid, then have a bunch of others I have to do food challenges one at a time. I start a new inhaler twice a day and she changed my nasal spray.....

Switched a day and working tomorrow- better get off here and get to bed!

Have a great weekend : )

Shelly

Hi Shel! Not too much longer before you leave, right? What will your other daughter do (Katie, I think?) while you visit your son and DIL-to-be .... is she coming with you or staying home for the holidays? It will be a magical visit, I'm sure! This time last year, we were en route to Tennessee - oh how my heart longs to be there again!!! We had the most magical Christmas last year - snow!!!!!

I text Jeanette regularly and she is in her new home as of December 1st. She's unpacking and settling in and we sure miss her!

Barb, enjoy our sunshiny state! You just missed all the torrential rains and should have gorgeous weather! I can't believe you and my daugher are in Orlando at the same time - and I'm not! I wasn't able to chaperone this trip but otherwise, we'd be there together - sadness!!!

My dd16 is traveling to Orlando and will sing tomorrow at the Epcot Candlelight showcase - oh it is so beautiful! You can hear it from the area hotels even if you aren't at Epcot. The voices!! THey have different schools from all over the country meshed together as one choir and spend about 2-3 hours rehearsing for the first time ever and then sing - it's unreal. Very talented people. THen they get to play in the parks for 2 days - lucky kids! Disney is SUPER FUN this time of year (well, it's super fun EVERY DAY of the year!)

We had some exciting news - little man was chosen to represent his elem. school in the Science Bowl! He is a math WHIZ (obvy doesn't take after his mother, LOL!) but that was a random chosing of names out of a hat, but his teacher recommended him for the spot in Science! He was given the task of creating, explaining, demonstrating Bottle Rockets at the Science Bowl in February where kids compete, etc .... Yikes! I"ll be the dumb one standing next to him saying "I'm just the chauffeur!" since I'm cluesless!

This week, they are celebrating the USA and he was given Michigan to represent. The one state we dont' know much about - and he made a state brochure, has to give a speech, make a dish to share with 70 people so we chose "cherries" and I"m going to bring several cherry pastries on a platter with toothpicks. Easy peasy!

Finally got some Christmas shopping done, wrapped and under the tree. Still much more to do, including all the teacher's and specialty area teachers. I always feel so bad for them, they are oft forgotten. I ended up buying those clear plastic, decorated coffee cups with lids/straws at the Dollar Store and will fill it with gift cards from DD, SB, etc - not much time to make/buy anything else!

Waving to everyone and sending hugs!

We are debating if we want to put up the 2nd tree in the dining room and the village.
I'm so glad that I bought this pre-lit one after Christmas last year. I am having an issue with it and I hope I can correct it before putting it up next year. One of the bottom branches doesn't want to stay up and keeps dropping down so there's a big gap in the tree. I just hung ornaments to kind of disguise it this year, but I hope to fix it when I put it back up next year. I do have another small skinny tree that I may put out next year when I get all my stuff out to go through it.

Her shower is Saturday and it's a surprise....guess it will be a surprise if she is there! I don't see why she can't go for a few hours since she can sit the whole time. We'll see. I still need to get to Babies R Us to pick up a few things she needs. I have been buying clothes for months but told her I would get something off her registry that she needs.

As I said in a previous post, we're hardly decorated inside yet. Usually I'm all over it but can't get into it this year. I think it's because I went nuts with fall decorations and had to declutter a LOT. I hope to make a bunch of progress this week. I decided to do 25 Days of Christmas on my blog which was crazy of me lol. I used to always do it before I moved and then it just fell by the wayside. I don't think I even need any more cards but I like making them!

Shelly - I hope you enjoy your trip to Colorado and I think it's a great idea to have a sing a long at the outdoor piano!

Kelly - glad to see you checking in

Barb - Thanks for the update on Jeanette!

Waving hello to the rest of you!
I hope that your sister is doing well. Was she able to make it to her shower? My sister's DGD is having a baby shower today, but it's far and I won't be able to make it. I have the choir performance this evening for my DGD and my SIL. Need to leave here by 6. I do need to go by Babies R Us and pick up a gift for them. This is her second and she's having a boy. They already have a little girl who I think is 4. She's just the cutest thing.

I sure don't know how you manage to make a card every day and blog it!

We were not going to do much inside- but Ray decided yesterday to put up the tree. He was a little frustrated, as one of the strings of (re-lit) lights would not go on, but I stayed out of his way...... I worked indoors on making cards while he went out and put up the garland and a wreath and the Nativity set. This year we went with all white lights and red bows, which I think looks so pretty.

We have not started Christmas shopping yet....will work on that the next couple of days.

Kristi- you sound really busy- and lots of fun family events. You are so lucky to have Mom so close by. Hoping your sis does well! I was on bedrest for a few months with both pregnancies- Sitting up would make me have contractions....... Keep that baby in there as long as possible : ) Will keep your sis in prayers.

Barb- that is alot of trees! I loved the blog post with all of the pics too. Thanks for the update on Jeanette too. You are busy- and your trip right before Christmas sound heavenly!

Maggie- you gave in and put a tree up- do your cats leave the tree alone? It will be home to have family over. It has to be hard to have a December birthday! Sounds like you got alot of your shopping done; lucky you!

Kelly- were in Co. is your brother moving? Chris is in a small town by Grand Junction. Is is so nice there- small town where you can walk to the market, to downtown and to church. I imagine we will end up in a small town.

Maxine- sounds a little chilly! (But warmer than here....). Sounds like the flowers and the earth are getting lots of good watering. Hope you are getting some time for yourself too. How is hubby doing- no lung infections lately....correct?

Waving hello to everyone else!

Shelly
I'm sure all the white light and red bows look beautiful. The kitties for the most part leave the tree alone. I find an ornament on the floor every once in awhile, but I used ones that don't break, so I just pick it up and hang it back on a branch. Every time I see them close to it, I tell them "Get out of the tree" and they run off. I just bought one more thing yesterday. I was ordering some gift boxes and bows to send to my DD's and needed one more thing, so I got that and called it done!

I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday!
I checked the weather at DD's for when I'm going to be there and it's pretty much the same as here. I think it is rainy the day that I get there and then the weather is sunny the rest of the time through the weekend after Christmas when I come home. I also can figure out what kind of clothes I need to take.

I am heading to the airport at zero-dark-o'clock tomorrow morning and I am not sure when I will check in from Orlando. I am taking my laptop along so I will see you from a sunny state!!!

Have a Great One!
I have all my Christmas cards done, signed, and addressed. Some went out last week, and I have the other batch that I'll mail tomorrow. I need to wrap 2 gifts and package them up to send to my cousins in Florida. They are the only ones that I need to mail except for this ones for my DGD and her DH that I sent to CA when they are going to be in AZ for Christmas! I'll have to wrap them when I get to CA and get them to the PO ASAP.

Hope you have a nice trip. I know it's for a Convention, but enjoy your time away.

Barb you really are most faithful at commenting - hope you enjoy your trip away, despite the early start

Shelly you sound really busy - your decorations sound lovely. How is the shopping going? - I have not really started, but have to check what I have squirrelled away through the year before I do anything else.

Kristie you really are crafting a storm with all your cards and challenges to yourself - hope work is not too busy for you at the moment.

Jeanette - we are hoping you pop in here soon - it will be good to see you again.
'
Anyone heard how Darlene is doing?

Kelly it was good to see you call by, and see you on your blog too - I do hope next year will be a little quieter for you and we can enjoy your company more

Maggie - are you busy at work that we have not seen much of you? Good to hear you had some lovely family time last weekend.

DH had his annual respiratory check up yesterday - he is as ok as he can be, but the specialist has changed his meds a bit, so we will be under more frequent reviews next year to see how he responds.

We are going "fibre optic cable" next year for our internet (we are currently on copper cable) - a great offer of the same plan for the same cost and free installation

Summer has finally arrived today and it was 25oC - and it had to be the day of the school picnic and the grandparents were invited. Lydia got her first school report, and in the six months she has been at school she has completed 12 months worth of study!! One bright wee girl, and one proud grandma here.

I am currently babysitting her and her brother whilst her parents go to an end of- year dinner - all was good until I said it was bedtime.... then they learnt that Mama can be a meany!! All is quiet on the home front now, and has been for over an hour and a half - thankfully

Waving to you all
I wish I could shop through the year, but my family don't make their wish lists up until Thanksgiving, so it's a whirlwind doing all the shopping at that time.

Work has been busy and I've been working on some projects that I want to get done before the time when I retire which right now is March 2018. It was going to be December 2017, but then I remembered that we get our 401(k) Profit Sharing in March, so I'll probably wait for that to hit my 401(k) and then give my 2 weeks' notice.

Glad to hear that DH is doing okay and I hope the new meds are beneficial to him and things will get better in 2016.

Congrats to Lydia. I'm sure you are all so proud of her accomplishments. LOL! Sounds like they are not so fond of bedtime. Here lately I am in bed by 10 or close after. I don't seem to be able to stay up late like I used to do.

LOL! Be careful what you wish for!

Does that red match your red jeep? Hope that things will ease up for you starting in the new year, but kids are still in school, so they probably won't.

Sounds like still such a busy time for you Kelly. Those coffee cups sound like the perfect gift.

Congrats to DS for his being picked to take part in the Science Fair. Good luck to him. And that sounds like quite a report he has to do on Michigan. How old is he???? Sounds very involved.

I can't wrap anything here until I get back from CA. Needs to be hidden so the kitties don't tear into everything so I'm just waiting. It's all piled in a corner of the dining room waiting.

I finally was able to get around to visit everyone's blogs this morning. Sorry that I've been remiss about that. Hopefully the new year will be better. I hope to get more stamping done too. Need to start working on birthday cards.

Default Hello!

Hello ladies!!! Sounds like many are very organized and ready for the Holiday- I am not.....I cannot get cards completed- I tried to join the Bugaboo challenge for a week, and got 4 days done....too much going on here, and other cards and ATC's I need to complete.

We do not leave until Christmas Eve- we usually go to Midnight mass with friends, so I need to break the news to them that we will be gone. Ray plans on renting a card and driving from Denver to Grand Junction (Chris lives in a little town called Fruita). We are only taking 2 suitcases, one for us and the girls are sharing one, so I have to be careful of what we buy for gifts....as the airline we are flying on charges for each bag. Cheap flight but you pay for everything...! I have to write down everything I have purchased to get a handle on where we are......I mailed a few things to Chris', but have some jewelry and smaller things being sent here.......

Off to look for pictures for the Christmas card : )

Good Afternoon from Orlando. I have been pretty busy, so I have not been able to make a post since Friday. Temps are awesome--too bad most of the time I get to see the pool and outside area from inside.......................... My shuttle on Wednesday does not come until 1:00, so I hope it is still nice then and I can enjoy a bit out sun time!

Popping in to say Hi! Barb, glad that you are having a good time in Orlando with the weather and sorry you can't enjoy it more.

Maxine- thank you for the lovely Christmas card. It is very pretty.

Wonder when we'll hear from Jeanette again????

I'm on the countdown until I leave for CA on Monday. So much still to do and so much going on. I decided against Single Chicks this month so that's one less thing on my plate.

Default Hi

Popping in to say hello! I am off today, was planning on sending out Chrstmas cards, but the cards were a little off and cut off Chris' head in the pic.... I talked hubby into returning them.... So, I made a batch of chili, working on laundry and talked to my folks- an hour is about how long they keep you on the phone... We are going to the Lion King in Chicago tonight, so getting ready for that now- just Ray and I.

Nothing new and too exciting.

Is everyone done Christmas shopping???

Shelly

I know y'all probably think I dropped off the face of the earth. I haven't - but am getting ready to. My daughter comes in on Sunday and will be here until next Saturday. Then the next day, my son and his crew will be here. SO, I won't be around at all I don't think. I haven't seen them in a year and am more than ready as you can image. My daughters girls won't get to come this year as they has to spend it with the ex, but still happy she's coming. We don't have any big plans other than maybe a day or shopping and that's it.

Christmas will just be the three of us so really be quiet. I'm sure we'll have fun though as she likes to play board games and such. After she leaves my son comes with his wife and two little girls. Haven't seen them in a year either so I'm way overdue for hugs!

Everything else seems to be ok around here. Don't have to have my nose butchered until January 20th so that's good I guess. Just gives me more time to worry about it. LOL!

I didn't send out many cards at all this year so I'm just going to tell y'all to have a very Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Merry Christmas Lynn - your Christmas sounds like a lovely family time, and I can understand why you are looking forward to seeing them all. {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Shelly I have finished my Christmas shopping - the only thing now is to get some $$ ready for SIL, and figure out what we are contributing to the Christmas day BBQ.... Enjoy the Lion King with your DH.

We have had a wonderful bonus from the petrol companies today - up to 20c a litre off for the day, and $50 filled over half our tank. This will be the last time we fill this car as we are downsizing and swapping with DD & SIL, who now need a larger car as the children are getting bigger.........

Maggie I am glad to hear the card made it to you in time, and before you left for CA.

Barb I hope you can get outside to enjoy the warmer weather in Orlando.

Good to see you flying in and out Kelly - hope Christmas gives you a brief respite from your constant rush.

Kristie, Kel, Darlene and Jeanette - waving to you all and praying all is well with you.

Hugs
Maxine

Hello friends.

Got in late last night from Washington State where my parents & other family live. My folks were not well enough to make the long trip here for Amanda's funeral. They are doing ok though, Dad's cancer is doing ok at the moment, they're keeping an eye on a couple more spots but at the moment he's good.

Today I start trying to piece together my life after 4 months of utter chaos. Christmas decorations, cards & gifts??? Well, this will be a very different year for us, whatever gets done is what will be.

Thank you all for the cards & prayers. You are all very special and I deeply appreciate your friendship.

I'll be back here soon.

how was the Lion King??? I would love to see that!!

Shopping is not quite done. I need to get some stocking stuffers for Mike and we still need to find something else for his mom. I need to wrap everything too!

Kristi- you are getting lots of cards done this month- hope you are almost ready for Christmas.

Shelly
Creating came to a screeching halt last week

Bummer on all the allergies! Did you have any inkling of the food ones before the testing? My asthma is mostly controlled and it's mostly upset by environmental stuff - too cold, smoke, some smells, stress. I developed a cough late last week and have been on prednisone to clear it up. Almost better! It came out of nowhere and I'm glad I didn't let it linger too long before getting checked out. Sometimes I forget that the asthma can get thrown out of whack and I certainly don't want to be super sick this time of year if I can help it.

I started to get cards ready to mail this morning...the rest will have to go out tomorrow. Does anyone have a new address for Jeanette?

My sister and baby are hanging in there. She went for an appt on Tuesday, bp was high but went down after laying on her left for awhile. Their concern is if it doesn't go down when she does that. She will go again on Monday. Hopefully the little princess will wait a little longer to make an appearance, although we are all anxious and excited to meet her!

I am going nuts trying to finish up things. The house still isn't fully decorated. I need to let go of that fantasy I think...next year start earlier! Or at least undecorate from fall earlier and re-home the clutter that piles up. I have a work party tonight, Mike's family party on Saturday night and other assorted errands to keep me busy over the next several days. I am looking forward to a 4 day weekend next week since I put in for Christmas Eve off!

TGIF!

I ended up working just a half day. It was so quiet, first time in months! So I asked to leave and use up some of my PTO. I got a small bonus so I drove to the LSS and bought a bunch of MFT dies and a couple of stamp sets, Merry Christmas to me! I got my stocking stuffer shopping done and got home about an hour earlier than usual. It was nice to sit and relax for a bit!

Wow! That's a lot for filling up the gas tank! What kind of car do you drive? I guess you guys have to import your oil and gasoline. Our has been really dropping which I love, but I hate the impact it's having on our economy here in the US.

Glad to hear that your sister and baby are doing okay and I hope that things progress well for them and the little princess will arrive when ready healthy and happy.

I wasn't going to decorate at all this year since I wasn't going to be home for Christmas, but ended up doing some, not as much as I usually do, but will do that next year because I want to go through all my stuff and decide what will be kept and what will be given to DD's and then what will get donated somewhere or trashed.

Good morning! Lots of busyness going on here with getting ready to leave tomorrow for CA. We went to see TSO Friday night and my DGD spent the night with me after so she wouldn't have to drive home alone that late at night. It was fabulous. My sis said it was the best show yet. I was able to capture quite a few numbers on my camera so I can enjoy them again during the year.

Got my hair done and stopped at the grocery store, then home to do laundry and get started packing. Then I started having issues with my laptop after Firefox did an automatic update. Not sure why it got messed up, but so glad that I had Geekatoo to call on to fix it. Took 2 tries and about 2 1/2 hours. Not sure what the issue was, but at least it's working now. One thing is that Firefox does NOT like the Yahoo Toolbar which I do like, so I don't have that installed right now.

Tonight we're going to see A Christmas Story at the theater (on stage). Going with DD and her family and a GF of my DGD. I've heard it's a fun show.

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas if I don't get back on here before then I don't think I'm taking my laptop, but I will have my Kindle Fire along to keep up with things.

Hi Maggie - petrol is expensive here - generally on the $2 mark per litre - that translates to
about $7.60 per U S gallon, plus our dollar is way lower than yours.... we were driving a Nissan Bluebird, now a Nissan Note, as of Saturday.

Stifling hot here today - we have hit 25oC (78oF) and I have to go out with DD this afternoon to the Dentist Argh!! not looking forward to the hot drive.

Good Morning Ladies--Happy Monday.

WOW--all of you are sure busy with preparations............... I hope it all goes well and stress does not take over!

I have a few errands to run today. I am on the board of a Humane Society and all of the members are doing the "12 days of Christmas" by bringing lunch to the staff and volunteers, each one of us a different day. Since I live more than a half hour away, I ordered pizzas and a brownie dessert from Domino's in the town where the shelter is (and my brother lives) and will deliver it today. I will then spend some time on my brother's house and then I have a board meeting tonight.

It is raining here today and will be a yucky day all around--on a Monday!

Happy Christmas Eve to all! I am sure everyone is busy with lots of prep or enjoying family time. We both took the day off. My plans were to finish wrapping and then we were going to my sister in law's tonight. However, she is sick so we will be staying home for Christmas Eve. We have food and dessert here so we are set. MIL lives with SIL and I don't want to catch anything so it's better we wait until SIL is better to celebrate.

My sister is hanging in there. The doctor decided yesterday that she could stay home for Christmas instead of being admitted. However if her BP is up again on Monday, then it's off to have a baby! I am so very excited!!! Even if it's not Monday there is less than 2 weeks to wait
