I hipope you are feeling better Maggie. DH was sick as a dog on Christmas Eve and had to stay home while we went to my mom’s house. The DS got sick. He wasn’t as sick. Both are healthy again, LOL.

Kids don’t go back to school until Monday.
I love going out for breakfast.

Still fighting the sore throat and my left eye is all watery in the morning. Sorry about DH and DS being sick. Glad they are over that.

I have been able to work in my stamp room some. It's so weird to leave the office at 4 and then it seems like I have so much more time. I know I'll really like it once the new semester starts, which actually is today. I was thinking that it was next week. Paleography is going to be very interesting - studying ancient writing systems.

Slipped my mind that today is our HGF meeting. It is about Texas History, which doesn't affect my life, but could for a client. Anyway, I am not going to go since I'm still not feeling up to par. I hope the speaker has good handouts that I can get off the website after the seminar today.

Looks like a beautiful day today. Time to get all the decorations taken down. I was going to leave them up another week because the kids were coming for dinner tomorrow, but we decided to put that off another week since I'm still not feeling up to snuff and my DGS and DGD have been fighting off illness too. Hopefully we'll all be better by next Sunday.

I saved my boss from a boatload of embarrassment! He is scheduled to fly to Dallas on Monday on firm business. He made the arrangements while I was out sick. Yesterday he did not come in the office at all. His son said that they were going to Galveston this weekend so he was probably getting things together for that. The couple phone calls he had on his calendar he could do from his cell phone anywhere. I was going to leave even a little earlier than 4 since I had some comp time. Somehow I was inspired to look at his flight reservation. I wanted to see when he was coming back. Well, I noticed that the reservation said it was for 1/14 which would be next Monday not this coming one, but he had it on his calendar for this Monday. This was at about 3;30 when I was wanting to leave the office, but thought I better call him about this. So, yes, he is going this coming Monday, so I had to get on the SWA website and change his reservation. Lucky I was still able to get him on the same flights he had with no additional charge.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. That’s so nice you are able to leave early. That should make taking your classes less stressful with the extra time. What are they going to do without you? That was a good catch with the flights. Good thing you knew to double check it.

Nothing gong on today. I need to go to the grocery store. Kids go back to school on Monday so things will be quieter and I can get more things done during the day.

Tell you the truth, I don't know what he is going to do after I leave, but so it goes. Yes, something just told me to check on the flight. So glad that I did.

Good Sunday afternoon. Doing a little better here today. My throat is not quite so bad as it has been so that is a good thing.

I did not get any of the decorations taken down yesterday. About 10 I was feeling a little puny so I went back to bed for a half hour. Felt some better after that, but not enough to take down decorations so they'll stay up another week until next Saturday.
Had some time to play in my stamp room so I started on Christmas cards for this year. Got four made so far - all the same. I'm doing the Dirty Dozen Christmas Card Challenge. Each month they send us a theme and then we make our cards to go with the theme. It's fun. I hope I can get more done this year than I did last year.

On Thursday I subscribed to Six Sisters website meal planning. Each Friday they send out an email with a menu and recipes for the following week as well as a shopping list. I thought I'd give it a try for awhile and see if I like their choices. I cooked baby back ribs yesterday and today I'm making chicken and vegetables. I will probably make one more meal for the week. I'm doing a Smaller family plan since there is only one of me. Each meal will give me at least 2 or 3 meals.

I know you'll be glad to get your kids back to school. For us it means more traffic on the roads except that I'll miss the school zones with my new work schedule.

Good morning, ladies.
I am sitting here at my computer, looking out the office window... in peace. Won't last long. Bob is at yet another dentist appt but I didn't have to go. If they do anything at all, he's just getting a mold made for his permanent crown.

So far this morning, I've emptied the cat room and started a deep clean of the floor, sorted/ started laundry and punched out little 'baby chick' icons to put in my planner to remind me of the Card Chicks postings. The 21st just seems to come and go. LOL I'm really liking my new Happy Planner Miss Maker Mini. I've not even filled it all in yet but already see potential for staying on top of challenges and being more creative in 2019. That's my word of the year - CREATIVE

Glad everyone is feeling better in your households Maggie and Nancy. We've been good here but then we try to avoid people. I also use a lot of lysol spray

My focus this week is to just CLEAN. The floors have not been swept in almost 2 weeks with us being on the run. They're filthy! I hate a dirty house but I despise filthy floors. Bob will probably spend a good time in his man cave this week while I put the house back in order. I should't have to leave the house until Saturday at the earliest. I am soooo excited!

Maggie, do you remember the name of the urinary supplement I recommended for the cats? I thought I'd kept an empty packaging but can't find one. The store I usually purchase from doesn't have any in so I'm going to have to order on-line but can't find the website. Do you still have a link somewhere?

I actually have not been feeling better and have been home again two days. I was lucky to get an appointment with my ENT, a throat specialist on Tuesday since my throat was still so sore. Glad I went. It turned out that I had a throat infection - tonsillitis without the tonsils. She put me on a good antibiotic to clear that up. This is only my second day taking them so I hope that I'll feel well enough to go back to work tomorrow.

My house is the same way. I have the kids coming for dinner this Sunday which was postponed from last Sunday, so I need to get busy and get things cleaned up and organized.

I buy my cat food from Chewy.com. It is the Purina One Urinary Tract formula. I had that same issue with Petco where I was buying it for my outside kitties, but since they didn't have any, I ordered from Chewy. It was also weird because I have to get Fancy Feast Chicken classic pate for my indoors for their morning breakfast treat and Petco also was out of it as well as the Kroger that I went to. I ended up buying it on Amazon which was also cheaper and no shipping.

I buy the cat food at Menards. I was referring to the liquid water additive I thought I suggested as well. maybe not. I know I have an empty box in my mixed media collection somewhere. Was going to use it to journal on one of Goddess's pages. I'll have to see where I might have put the packaging.

No, I don't add anything to their food.

I don't put anything in their water either. In fact, they don't drink water I put out very much. They'd rather drink the rain water out of flower pots.

Went to dinner with a GF tonight. First night out in a long time. I only have two things left to do this week for class; one quiz and then one essay, but it doesn't have to be very long so it won't take long to do it.

The essay has to do with preservation of records. We're supposed to spend two hours working on a project that will help preserve some of my records and then write about the experience. Several years ago I bought a little gadget called a Wolverine. It converts negatives to digital images. I have tons of negatives that I've accumulated taking pictures over the years and have wanted to scan them somehow on to my computer and then put them on flash drives to save them. That's what this gadget does. I finally tried it out tonight and IT WORKS! I was able to scan two pictures of one of my granddaughters when she was about two. They are saved on a memory card and then I can upload them to my computer. This project is going to take some time to complete, but at least I got it started. Now I just have to write about it.
