LOL...Kelly at first I thought "Oh I know use DH" (daughters hubby) then I realized its actually Darling husband so I guess that won't work either. Complicated...lol. I'll keep thinking heeheehee.

Today DH is at a seminar with DS and I have an old friend coming by to keep me company and craft. No Idea what we're crafting. She said she'd bring everything. I just have to provide lunch. No prob!

With Jeanette gone, Shelly gone and Lynn possibly stuck on a laundry mountian it's pretty quiet here. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Well I got NOTHING done today. Jim was out of town last 2 days so it was just me and Nick and welllll....dummy me lifted him goofy yesterday to put him in the wheelchair and pulled my lower back. Spent today icing it though I still had to move him around since Jim did not get home until about an hour ago. Very long trying day.
Visit with friend yesterday went ok (til I hurt my back) We made fall wreaths (though I already have 3 which I really like) Think I'll give it to my DIL.
Mine is on left.

So Lynn did you get anything done today?

Kelly your fall pic of Alice is adorable.

Hope Jeanette and Shelly are enjoying their travels.

Susan, your graphic is hilarious! I'm sorry I haven't been here - it's been crunch time in 3 different areas, all in one week!

Tomorrow is the spaghetti dinner (scouts, I'm on morning prep - cook) and it's one of my favorite scout events. Super cute.

LOVE that wreath!! Perfect for fall porches!

Thank you for the sweet words on Alice! We were playing after she got back from the store with her mama - picking up leaves! There's no fall here, lol, but we can pretend!

Shelly - thinking of you and your brother - prayers ascending!

Lynn, hope you are resting sometime during the day! Naps aren't over rated!

Hugs to all!

Well, Susan and Kelly, I actually did not get much done yesterday after all. I do not have to leave this house until 4 p.m. today. Surely something will be accomplished!
I have this sign up in two rooms of my house: Nope: Not Today! I seem to be taking that to heart. But so far, I am on my third load of laundry!

Susan I am so sorry about your back!! Hope you are able to pamper it back to good health soon. Your wreaths are falltabulous!! I love them.

Kelly, I've got an organizational dinner for a large group of teacher to help prepare for tonight, as well!! My assigned task is a crockpot full of white chicken chili. So we know I will be doing one thing today!! I will try to fit your Fall Fantasy challenge in between stirring the chili and folding the laundry. I may can mix it with a couple of challenges I am behind on.

Shelly, I did not enter my dog card in the Teapot Challenge since I didn't use any of the techniques, but I am mailing it to your brother today. I sure hope he heals well and regains full use of his foot.

Happy conference day to Jeanette!! Hope Brock is enjoying his swimming pool!

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

I'm sure Susan shouting would have woken me (if I'd still been asleep) but our days away started way too early in the morning. LOL!

Susan, your wreath is beautiful! I'm so sorry about your back though. Is it doing any better?

YAY! Congrats on being the GIU gal this week, Kelly! And the hostess of a Falliday challenge, too... I'm behind but hope to get some of the cards made at least. I, too, saw adorable pictures of Miss Alice. Sweet!!!

Lynn, I can just see that picture - you asleep upon that mountain. Great visual. Now it's off to making delicious white chili and ministering to others. You are amazing!

Shelly, many prayers on behalf of your brother! I hope he'll receive many cards and that they will be a joy to him.

Our trip was great - wonderful meetings and connecting with many people from around our state. Now it's home again and a lot of catching up to do on many fronts.

I've read the thread - you ladies make me smile!

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome home, Jeanette!! Great to see you again!!

I am down to my last load of laundry, but have to leave town again. But first, I must get Dad to the skin doctor for more cancer removal this morning and then back to Houston this afternoon to get Liz to her eye doctor following yesterday's cataract surgery.

Should be back home tomorrow to check in on everyone. Wishing all a blessed weekend!!

OMG I'M FREEZING!!!!! Even my typing is turning BLUE!!! What the heck is up with this cold weather in November. It feels more like February weather.
Well you all know what that means right??? SOUP TIME!!! Its a great day for it so I'm going to make some Corn Chowder. Maybe that'll warm my bones. lol.
Lynn I'm still trying to figure out how just 1 little person can have a mountian of laundry. There are 3 of us so I can see why I'd have a mountian or Jeanette would have a mountian and definately Kelly. But YOU???? If I'm not mistaken Shelly has 2 people so she can have a "Mole Hill"....but again...YOU???? lol

Enjoy your day

Susan, you're cracking me up!

Lynn, I used to only do laundry once every 14 days or so (other than towels and linen). My DH voiced his displeasure with that enough that I finally gave in and do it about every 7-9 days now. Sheesh! His closet was full of unworn clothes so I didn't see the problem but apparently he did.

Default Hello

Quick drop in tonight, heading home tomorrow. Ray booked us on Spirit, so we have 10 less pounds in the luggage. He has his big baseball bag we can fit stuff into, we will drop it off tomorrow to the nice teammate that has a trailer. We won’t be needing shorts & short sleeves where we are headed from what I hear!!! Boo!

Thanks for well wishes for my brother. He ended up with an ankle fusion, now just needs to heal!!! I have not heard about him getting cards yet, but am sure they will be arriving soon! Although, I have not been on Facebook except for 5 minutes.

We had drama with the house- it was OK, check in was awkward, hot tub did not work correctly, just fixed today finally.

Kelly, I will get over to your blog to comment for your GIU week, and will try that tutorial when I arrive home- it looks fun!

Lynn, thanks for sending Steve a card- much appreciated! Here’s hoping you got a bit more laundry done!!! You will have a busy day tomorrow!

Susan- yikes to hear about your back! Hope it heals speedily!!! Great jobs on the wreaths!

Jeanette- 2 weeks at home- you will get so much stamping done!!! Lol you already do as it is!!!

Good night!
Shelly

Default Hello

Brrrr- I mean Hello! Home and spent some time with our daughter last night. She left at 5:30am to work at Starbucks. She teaches during the week, but likes to spend money, so works at Starbucks on the weekends. By the way, Starbucks benefits are better than her teaching job! She earns stocks as well!

My substitute for Religious Ed - WOW- she got to experience how bad the kids are for me, and as a result, we have been going back and forth the last week with the director of Middle School RE on how to handle the situation. I have never worked with a group of kids that were so disrespectful ever!!! They are good kids, just trying to get away with whatever they can get away with. I should have continued with ESL...LOL God has given me quite the challenge, and I must stick with it and try my best to bring God to these kids!

Susan- I am with you- I go to the store for three things and bring home 5 bags of groceries! LOL And, I forgot something!

We were going to drive down to Chicago (the city) tonight for dinner at an Ethopian restaurant...but plans changes at about 3PM. Daughter cancelled on us. That is fine with us- I just cleaned out the refridge and loaded up with some food and maybe will go stamp : ) Hubby os out raking leaves before the snow tomorrow.......

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Shelly

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Susan, I love to go grocery shopping - it means my family will be well-fed. If I lived closer, I'd gladly do some shopping for you, too.

Welcome home Shelly! I am sort of glad the sub had the experience with your kids that she did because now that others know the situation hopefully there will be some help and solutions moving forward.

Waving to Lynn and Kelly as I dash through.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like my Illinois friends with all be popsicles by this time tomorrow and here we are whining about getting a freeze!! Hope that your pantries are stocked and you can stay in and warm.

Shelly, I am sorry that your teaching has turned into quite the challenge. Most kids today have certainly been raised differently than we were. My prayer is that between the teachers, director, parents, and kids strategies will be found that will lead to the desired results for this program.

I enjoyed watching the Packers play the Panthers in the snow yesterday. How do they do that? It was such a good game. I was rooting for each side!!

Today will be a day of shuffling cars to repair shops. Mine is going in for repair from a little fender bender I had in my own driveway. My dad's is going in because I was stopped by police and given a warning yesterday that the right brake light is out while I was driving us all to church. Dad says, "That is the third one of those I have gotten." He just has been taking it in and having a new bulb put in. Clearly further investigation is needed.

Kelly, how's the weather in your neck of the woods?

Hi Lynn... good to see you! It is going to be quite a switch in weather here today. Yesterday was in the mid-70's. We didn't even take coats to church. Lovely day! The temperatures are to drop through out the day today, with a low of 14 degrees and SNOW! My pantry is not full, but we have enough to get by for a day or two. LOL! The snow won't stay around here, so we'll be okay.

I am sorry to hear of the need for car shuffling today. I hope it all works out well.

Uggghhhh...Jeanette you lucky duck! 70's??? We haven't seen 70's in quite awhile. Yesterday was only in the low 40's with temps dropping in the afternoon. We got about 6" of snow today and will have super cold temps in the teens with lower nbrs with wind chill tomorrow. May get back up to 40's by the weekend. This is wayyyyy too early for winter.

Lynn Yes those Packers do great even in cold temps. Must be because of all the cheese they eat! LOL I'm a Packer/Bear fan (I know the 2 should never be in the same sentence but what can I say...I have a love for Aaron Rodgers heeheehee)

Shelly so sad about kids in your class but glad others have now witnessed the antic's. Good luck and I hope it gets squared away soon.

Kelly....HELLO!!

Went to Tori's 1st Opera ricital last night. She did so well. Girl loves her music. She's in the Chorus group in middle school as well as the chorus group at the local community college and had just auditioned for the opera group and got in. Can't believe how she's grown. Here's a pic of her from last night.

Time to turn in!

Hi Susan... awwwwww... what a sweet photo! I'm so glad you got to go to Tori's recital!

Well, so much for 70's. Teens now and probably 3" or so of snow. Brock's work has been cancelled for tomorrow. He is NOT a happy guy.

Good Morning Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Yes, it's true! Schools (and Brock's work) are cancelled here, due to the snow/sleet mix we received yesterday! (Unlike the school kids, Brock is NOT happy about the Snow Day.)

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With our cars in the shop, I had to hitch a ride to the Kitchen this morning. My ride goes in an hour before I do. Lucky for me I am usually up by 4:00. The Kitchen will be hoping this morning following our first night of freezing temperatures.

How will Brock entertain himself on his snow day, Jeanette?

Susan, how proud you must be for your talented Tori!! I know her voice must be as beautiful as she is!

Waving hello to Kelly and Shelly on this cold Tuesday morning!

Hi Lynn... I giggled at myself when I read your greeting to Kelly and Susan - it made me want to go shopping - at Tuesday Morning.

Brock will rock and hang out; watch his videos, look at his church books, do his chores - yesterday he even dusted some furniture (he said, "I'm gonna clean this up" and he did). He and I need to go to the office and do some work, too - if the roads clear off. DH is gone today but we left a HUGE mess at the office when we left yesterday (we left when the roads started getting icy).

Did I tell you that we are going through EVERYTHING at the office - every storage room and closet? The secretary had been there for 25 years and just retired. It's time to sort, organize (and purge). So we are doing that. I hope we'll have the task finished before it's time to put together my first newsletter for the organization (in a little over a week). I also need to download and learn MailChimp so we can email those newsletters more easily than she's been doing them.

Well.......we hit a record low this morning with 4 degrees. Not sure what the windchill was tho. But OH BOY BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!!!! With the snow on the ground I'm getting into the Christmas mood. I know, I know..Thanksgiving isn't even here but it's not my fault Mother Nature decided to move up the seasons. lol Plus I plan on being gone up north to see my sister for about 8 days over Thanksgiving so I decide to start decorating the house now. LOL my son is going to flip out when he comes by tonight for family dinner and he see's Christmas. He's an ol' Scrooge. Day after Christmas he un-decorates cuz he wants his house back to normal. Me???? Usually Thanksgiving weekend (but I'll be gone hence the reason for a head start) then it all stays up til after the 12 days of Christmas. With Thanksgiving being so late this year I need a head start on decorating and shopping . Thank goodness I did those "How many Cards from 1 Paper pack" challenge this year so all my cards are all ready to be stamped and popped into the mail. In fact DH just got me the postage stamps friday so I'm pretty set in that department.

Jeanette laughed about Brock still wanting to go to work. Our schools are all open. It has to be Flippin" Freezing for our schools to close. In fact here is a clip from a letter sent to parents from School Superintendent Hyde. This is real.
Extremely Low/Hazardous Temperatures: Almost 86% of District 300 students utilize our bus transportation service. As such, we must recognize the potential hazards of exposing students to hazardous conditions. Forecast temperatures between -20 and -30 degrees creates a significant risk of hypothermia, frostbite, and asthma. The District may opt to close schools if the projected temperatures are forecasted to remain at these low levels throughout the day.

The -20 and -30 is actual temps not including windchill. Yep we're hard core here. lol I think it's about 10 right now.

Well gotta go get dinner started. Making the kids favorite comfort food. Mac and Cheese with corned Beef tossed in and baked with cornflake crumbs ontop. Brownies for dessert. YUM.

Waving to Lynn, Kelly and Shelly

Susan, I think I'll head your way - as soon as it warms up a bit. I can enjoy the Christmas decorations while eating comfort food and brownies.

Default Hello

Yum, comfort food. Unfortunately, I have a touch of a stomach issue and what sounds good is toast, maybe peanut butter......

My class was perfect last night! A mom was in the classroom and the kids had been warned..... I have a behavioral contract going in the mail today. I had one of the better kids asked to be homeschooled, so the RE director really has a grasp on this class' disruptiveness now.

Today I had drawing- the first session was drawing and this session is charcoal drawing. The scene I had to color was all white, so it is teaching me shading- I love it!

<

I cancelled piano before I left, as I have not touched a piano in 10 days! Next week I will be prepared : ) She started me on some Christmas Music before I left.

We will not be here for Thanksgiving or Christmas, so I am not sure how much decorating I will do. Last year, since my Mom was in the hospital and we did not have time to shop, all of the kids got a trip to Mexico and $$$ This year, hubby wants to do gifts. Katie is driving to Colorado with the dog, so we have a way to get gifts out there.... : ) Stephi will ride out there with her, and Ray will ride home with her... I will fly both ways!

Susan- how absolutely wonderful for your Tori! And, a beautiful picture! Yes, it is shocking how darn cold it is today! My brother lives in Dallas, and it is 39 there right now!

Jeanette, you have mentioned before how disappointed Brock is to miss work- hope he has an OK day! Oh, not fun to have to organize your hubby's office. Our church has a container where we take all of our paper recycling, and they get $$$ for it. I guess the price for paper has really decreased in the past year.

Lynn- hope your car adventures get all straightened out! Up at 4am??? When you get up that early, are you tired all day? I would not be functioning well I am guessing.... but you never know. You keep busy!
My hibby cringes when he hears....Packers! Our friends in Florida that we visited on the way to baseball are HUGE Packers fans- they dress up before the games- even their dogs! (They have 4 dogs).

Hello Kelly! You have been stamping up a storm lately!!!

Hi Shelly - your work is gorgeous! I love the shading. I'm sorry you have tummy issue, though. Hopefully you'll be all better soon; as will those misbehaving youngins'.

Your Christmas plans sound great - the family gathered together is the best, right?

Brock did okay today and I am sure he'll have work tomorrow.

I actually love organizing (and purging too for that matter) so I'm glad to be able to do that in the office. Our office is quite large compared to other associational offices. We have two large storage rooms and one small one as well as two storage closets. Then there's DH's BIG office and the administrative office, which is also large. And a nice kitchen and a big conference room. Oh, and two bathrooms. So, as you can tell, there was lots of space for accumulating a lot of stuff over the years.

Oh Shelly I so envy your artistic talent. I have none for freehand. Love seeing your work and the black and white is stunning. Sounds like you have some great plans for both holidays. Last yr we didn't decorate much with Nick in and out of hospt. Hopefully this yr will remain on track and we will have an awesome Christmas.

Jeanette glad Brock made it through the day. I had to laugh as I love organizing and purging too but other peoples stuff but not my own. lol

Dinner was good. Kids ate regular mac and cheese while I had the no carb on made with califlower. Really taste.
Have a great evening.

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Susan, I agree... to just have a wee bit of Shelly's artistic talent, in fact. Sheesh! I can't even draw a stick person. But organizing/purging - that I'm good at (even my own stuff).

Waving to Lynn, Kelly, and Shelly on this cold day! It was 5 degrees out when I got up this morning. Brrrr! I'm guessing we'll not be seeing any camels out in this weather.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope no Camels here either! LOL

Today I start planning my Christmas Box for the Kids. I make a count down to Christmas box that they get on the 1st of december that is filled with challenges, crafts, movie, activities etc with a calendar as to when they should try and do the projects. I usually just use a cardboard box but this year I'm making it out of a wooden crate that can be used year after year. So much Christmas fun in a box!

Stay warm everyone.

Jeanette you need to come visit me and organize/purge my craft room so I can get in there. heeheehee

Default Hello

Susan- I love the idea of a Christmas Box! I will have to store that in memory - hopefully- for my future Grands.... : )

Jeanette, that sounds like alot of sorting! I am a little OCD and sort things, but they are organized chaos right now with stamps in the living room- I will try to sell some of the stamping items I have left over from the sale that were not donated....alot of stamps.....

and then there is the remainder of Mom's stuff- you know the last bits are the ones no one on the family claimed, but you have trouble throwing them away.....! Well, it is spread all over my dining room table.....

It is a lovely 18 drgrees out, but feels like 2.....so I am staying in today. The birds are pretty active today, I so love seeing them!

Before this drawing class, I did not think I had one ounce of creative ability to draw. The teacher is fabulous! I can color in images (I try my best), but no for drawing.

Off to clean a bit and get a card or 2 done : )

Hi Lynn, and Hi Kelly!!!

Shelly

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Hi Shelly - I'd love to hear what avenue you'll use to sell your remaining stamps. I have MANY left from my yard sale and need to try to sell them, too, but am stumped on the best way to do that.

Waving to Lynn, Susan, and Kelly... have a great day!
