not so wonderful when you prang your car and they are the ones doing the pranging...always an expensive little exercise! Last little blighter I ran into....I could see away up ahead on the road...very straight flat section of road out the back of beyond......i hit the brakes...somewhat carefully as I was doing 120km an hour.......I ALMOST missed him....silly bugger stayed smack bang in the middle of the road....so I just hit him ( I had ALMOST stopped)...He gets up and hops away...me I pay $1200 in damages.....
you can see them but you would not approach them....that could be a tad dangerous!....Emus too.....
Lots of sucky little cane toads, feral pigs, geckos and possums!
But I do have the most beautiful coloured frogs.....gorgeous lime green fellows....very pretty....
What does Chris do in the line of work which brings all the way here??

Good morning; you have kangaroos we have to watch out for deer, they can total a car because they come out of no where. Glad your painting is all done. I was painting the fence a few weeks ago and then realized last Sat. when I was washing my car that the wind carried the paint and decorated my car with little polka dots .

Hello Everyone! Looking forward to this week, but it is going to be a busy one.
Great cards created and posted already today...did a little blog hopping and will do more later.
Shell, in Australia do you have geckos...little lizards in your house. I think I asked you before over on Sassy Stampers, but forgot. We had those things in our house in Japan and our Golden Retriever would go nuts barking at them. Very harmless, but some people were freaked out by them. I kind of liked the little creatures Gecko t-shirts were even very popular there back in the early 90's.

LMAO - that all sounds so wonderful and extoic to me!!
Chris and I both work for Millipore Corporation - it is a life science company. We provide products and services to drug discovery and biopharma industries. We don't make the drugs, just the equipment drugs are made with. There is a statistic that about 70% of the world's drugs go through a Millipore product at some phase of thier creation. I work in HR, Learning and Development and Chris is in Field Service - he installs and fixes the equipment. We actually have an office in Australia outside of Sydney in North Ryde.

It makes perfect sense! I'll PM you my info now. I love having more people to card stalk... ahem... I mean send cards to!!
Kangaroos outside of the zoo sounds really amazing! We have to worry with deer running into our vehicles here. I would assume a Kangaroo could do a lot more damage?
Don't suppose you can get the polka dots off either....oh, I would not have been a happy camper to discover that!
Now, I think deer are pretty creatures....lol....I think just about all places have something they have to watch out for when travelling.

I HATE geckos......hate, hate, hate.....Oh...to answer your question...YES, we have geckos.....barking geckos as well as silent ones...The barking ones have a very soft sound they make....
Now as to why I hate them...they breed like rabbits and poop and pee everywhere.....they do not discriminate! Now I know they are only wee creatures, but after a while the cute factor goes out the window when they destroy something else.
ALL my stuff in my dungeon...aka....artroom has to be put in some sort of closed off arrangement so those little buggers cannot do the anti social thing with it...especially the cardstock!
I was sitting at my desk one day which is right under the air con....the air con starting making these chopping noises and I had a slight panic the air con was going to pack it in (in the middle of my summer this would not have been a good thing!).....all of a sudden the air con spat out half a gecko which landed on my shoulder ...still squirming!....Mega gross....of course, then we had to try and find the other half stilll in the machine.....after I had calmed down that is!
Neil was seen recently swatting them with the fly swat.....not killing them....just stunning them....so he could collect 50 or so and try and relocate them....I am not sure it has made that much of an impact!

Depends on their size Julie.....Kangaroos and wallabies....the wallabies are smaller but depending on where they hit can still do a great deal of damage!
A big red kangaroo though can be fatal to your car! He is massive. Not sure how big a deer can get to so cannot really compare.

Kirstin has asked me about the paper distresser I have been using on cards on my blog. Above is a link to see visually the tool....bout half way down the page. Others may be interested in this tool too, so I am posting the info here. It sells for around $14 dollars here (the Tim Holtz one), but I am reckoning it would be substantially cheaper in the US.
I know Tim Holtz has one, but Tonic make one as well which is cheaper than the "named" one.
You just run the edge of card through one of those nothces and it distressed the card absolutely beautifully for you!
I come back to geckos parts flying out of air conditioners, kangaroos, polka dotted cars, and all sorts of fun things!
Eww to the gecko pieces and parts - yuck!
becky, dust decorate that polka dotted car - add something or other and just pretend it's CS! you'll be stylin' girl! LOL - Seriously - ugh - I would have been so upset if I ended up with a polka dot car. ((hugs))
Yay - challenges!! I've never done any before so this ought to be interesting! ha ha
Julie - I just ordered some stamps from your store - I couldn't contain myself!! They were all so cute! The only thing that made me show some restraint was the size of the vet bill today for Piggie!!
Michelle - thanks for the link to the distresser!!!
Wow! I was away from the computer most of the day, you ladies have been busy chatting! I am trying to follow along... never a dull moment for you Michelle, kangaroos and geckos oh my!
I will send my info to Amy. I love challenges, can't wait to play!
I just received a blog award from one of my blogger friends, and the guidelines were to pass it along to 15 newly discovered blogs. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful group. In appreciation please stop by and pick up your awards on my blog!
