Default Tim Holtz Rocks!

Thank you to Marsh730 who posted about Tim Holtz being at the M's in Hurst, TX!!!

I figured we'd have to fight people off with a stick to get in to see him, but my friend Becky and I were the first ones in line, and there were only about 4 women behind us when the doors opened at 9am.

Can I just say how AWESOME he is?!! He's VERY nice, and was cracking jokes while he demonstrated, and answered all of our questions, and was just an all around great guy. Not to mention he's YUMMY and smelled SO good! LOL

I must say I was a fan before, but now I would purchase anything that has his name on it! Not only because of the quality, but because he's just a normal guy doing what he loves, and is very modest and down to earth. I can't say enough about him!! He's wonderful, very good guy!!

I will post pictures as soon as I have a chance!

Thanks for letting me gush!

You are too funny! I got to spend last weekend with him (and Claudine and Suze) at Ranger U... and you are very right... he is a wonderful guy. A good teacher and a great sense of humor... and yes... he DOES smell nice!

Very, very cool! I sent him an email a few months back asking a question about inking on leather, and he wrote me back personally! I still have his email saved, for posterity, of course. Glad you had such a good time!

Alright, I couldn't figure out how to edit my original post. If anyone can help instruct me on that, I'd appreciate it! So, I decided to add another comment, with pictures.

The edit button appears on all posts for a few minutes to allow you to make immediate changes such as spelling and grammar corrections. After that, the edit function is only available in certain forums, and Announcements is no longer one of them.

I've never met Tim Holtz, but all I've ever read about him agrees 100% with what you've posted. He sounds like such a talented and all-around nice person.

Steph, Is the Hurst store carrying more of his products than the regular stores. Do they have his stamps there?

No, they don't have any of his stamps. But they are carrying more of the Ranger products.

Does this mean that Michaels might eventually carry his Design Ruler? I want one really bad but my two Mike's doesn't carry them. Every time I try to order one online, they are out of stock.

I actually met Tim and took a class from him at a recent scrapbooking event. He was awesome! At the dinner to close the event, they were having a raffle to win a cruise with the proceeds to go to the American Cancer Society. Tim spontaneously decided to auction off the shirt he had created for the event and had worn with that money to also go to the American Cancer Society. It went for $6k! It was such an awesome moment and Tim was completely humbled by it. I would jump at the chance to take another class from him. Just an awesome soul and he creates such beautiful things.

A friend & I took a class with him about three years ago at the stamp convention in St. Mary's, Georgia. Yes, he's an amazing person and a teriffic teacher. Had all us old biddies laughing through the whole lesson. He's one of the reasons I love, love the Adirondack inks & the alcohol inks. I'd take a class again any time I could.

[QUOTE=Love4SSM;11662314]Thank you to Marsh730 who posted about Tim Holtz being at the M's in Hurst, TX!!!

Hi Steph,

You're welcome! I am glad you were able to attend and take some very nice pictures with him. Several years ago I saw him for the first time on the Carol Duval show and he has been impressing me since then. I was not interested in making cards at the time but I would sit there in awe watchng how intricate his finished products were. I think he inadvertently got me started in card-making. TFS

I too am green with envy. I have always enjoyed his style and product ideas but lately I have really dove into the Tim Holtz waters (head first) and have really fallen in love. He is a major talent! His style, ink, ideology line is fabulous. You are truly a lucky woman!
