FYI - The Angel Company has announced that as of the 2005/6 Catalog that's coming out soon, ALL WOOD stamps are being discontinued. They're also discontinuing all their rollagraph wheels and a number of TAC ink colors.
Do you think Stampin' Up! will ever offer the unmounted version? It seems like the trend is leaning that way. I know they used to offer foam stamps several year ago, but those were horrible. I think I would like the unmounted rubber on acrylic blocks.
Not to turn this into a mounted vs. unmounted, but last year I decided to go unmounted only. Cheaper, easier to store, etc. I hated it. I was so surprised by how much I "need" to see the stamp image on top of the wood when I stamp. Kind of weird, but that's just me. I ended up selling almost all my unmounteds.

I stamp the back of my Gray mounting foam with stazon before I put them together. It makes it WAY easier to see and make sure you have your image right. Just my 2 cents.
I actually prefer mounted stamps, but I have found that sometimes...I just NEED to see exactly where I am placing the stamp, and of course the acrylic blocks are great for that.

I'm a wood mounted girl myself! I love them! When I want to see where I'm going to stamp something, I just use the stamp-a-ma-jig. That thing is great!
I am a unmounted girl here. I love SU stamps, but I don't mount them on wood. I love TAC stamps too, and have never bought wood from them. I do have lots of stamps still on wood, and won't change that, I'm sure!
