Dive right in, that is. My demo ( who just happens to be my sister) just told me that she is going to give it up at the end of the year. What's a person to do?
I am seriously thinking about taking her place, even tho we live 2000 miles apart. What do ya think? As far as I know, the closest demo is 25 mi. from here.
HELP!!!

Why not give it a try? The August special is a nice way to add inks to your collection if you don't have them. You might be able to pick up some of her customers and get some new ones in your area. My upline is halfway across the country from me. I ordered from her lots of times and loved it because everything was shipped to my door.

I'm thinking about it as well. There aren't any demos in my city. My "potential-upline" [ how cool] is offering a free hardware kit to any recruits that sign up under her... and I really want one so I might sign up next paycheck.

I have a question... my demonstrator lives a few hours away... will I really need her that much? As far as I've heard you really don't have to meet often... just talk on the phone for questions. what do you think?

I LOVE my upline and can call or email her at anytime but I still ask the ladies on here for help and they are the BEST they are willing to help in anyway possible!! So even if you can't meet with your upline you will always have SCS!!

Default go for it

If I had the time I would do it,,, I think this is an amazing oppotunity for anyone who loves stamping. I just have my finger in to many pots right now to start another, but one day when I slow a few of them down I would love to be a SU demo,,,

I will never admit this in a court of law..........

I spend enough to make my own minimums, so I figured why not? I managed to scrape together 6 ladies and form a club.........now I'm laughing!!! I have NO PROBLEM meeting my $450 Cdn per quarter.......I have not yet had to "struggle" to meet a goal. I almost always make my great rewards....it's much easier than you think!

If you love it......then give it a whirl! The starter kit alone is worth it....

I think that I might. I am really considering it. She's really not that far away and it's not long distance to call her, so I should be fine. She has demonstrators under her, and some of them are all the way across the country and she talks with them regularily.

Do you think that the free hodgepodge is a good deal? Do other people offer this?

My DD is my demo, so I don't want to take business from her even if I could. She's always trying to recruit me! LOL Besides I really can't afford it. With the special this month, I'd go for it. Like qcbetty said you can try to form a club to carry you with your sales, and with no one really in your area that's close...GO FOR IT!!!!

Why not join??????????

And why would someone give it up????

When I joined SU almost 7 years ago....I didn't know anyone else who was a demo here but the one person who would become my upline. I wish I would have known some other demos at the time, but I never have regretted becoming a demo.
This area and the surrounding areas have so many demos that it's hard to find new customers, but I keep at it. The good thing about it is that so many people also love SU products that it does speak for itself.

I love my passion for stamping and share it with everyone I meet....I changing the world one child at a time.....I work in an elementary school and I started teaching the kids how to stamp and I'm working on all the teachers.

I am going to bite the bullet and become a hobby demo this week. I pondered the decision for 2 months now, and I decided this weekend to go for it.
I hope I don't regret this decision, as at this point in time I willnot have a lot of time to devote to being a "hard core" demonstrator, but after I am done with schooling and get my practice up and going, I would like to pursue SU more agressively.

I say go for it.. you have until the end of December to make your first $300 minimum so that gives you plenty of time. I hosted an Open House and did a few make and takes for my first "demo" and made my minimums in that one "demo". I dont' regret signing up in January and have NO PROBLEMS making my minimums.. lol

I say GO FOR IT! Just do it as a hobby, unless you choose to make it your career. Eventually, if you find it difficult to manage a demoship and career or more, then at least you can say that you tried it and you will have TONS of supplies at an inexpensive price!

Default GO FOR IT

I love being a SU Demo. I have been in it for 3 weeks now. I have gotten 4 bookings and a possible recruit already by only putting in one weekend. I had my open-house on a Saturday and then went to a craft fair on Sunday. It is an exciting opportunity to buy products from yourself. My Upline lives 2+ hours away from me so I don't see her much but we do email every day.
The only thing I have a problem with is trying to figure out on how to make more embellishments or find something that I can use besides stickers to show off my scrapbook pages. (I love K & Company products so I use a lot of 3-d embellishments w/stickers, etc) SU doesn't have a lot of embellishments I am use to so I have to come up with something different.
Any suggestions just email me.
I hope everyone has a great time. Please let me know if anyone is from Wisconsin here?

Thanks for all of the input & encouragement. My sister is going to stay in until the end of the year, so I will continue to order from her to make sure she meets her minimum. But in Jan. I am going to jump in head first. Since my sister is moving on, I'll need to find an upline that can be both helpful & supportive.

I say go for it. The worst that can happen is that you're stuck with a "nice kit". Good Luck....

This is kind of what happened to me. Except she wasn't my sister. She was a demo for our club and then decided after a year to give it up. So in her stead I decided that to keep our group together and support my habbit I would join. I am so excited!!!
