Hey, I am sure many of you are TOTALLY disappointed with Vikings new changes. I am not going to be returning to their site if I can't get a deal. And if we ALL email them maybe they will do something. I understand that companies change and they have to make a profit but to me it is all in the price. If I can get the product elsewhere for a cheaper price...it is worth it.
I hope many of you email them and lets see what happens..
Be NICE about it

You can still get great deals from Viking if you combine discount codes. I just ordered 21 refills, got a free dispenser and it was only $34.10 ($1.63 each). I used A09-62202. it comes up $2.39 each, but after the $20 discount for ordering more than $50, it was still a great deal. HTH!
Viking will only let you do the $20 off ONCE. they you are back to the prices they have..NO DEAL!
They were $25 and free shipping. Now it is $40 for free shipping
Mono refills used to be $1.88 and now $2.99
There are thousands of us on here that I am sure order from them and if we all voice our disappointment ...they just might do a deal for us..
you never know unless you ask.
I love shopping with but not enough to pay more if I can get it someplace else cheaper.

It was bought out by office depot and now you can't get mono refills for 1.88 any more.
According to their website it was bought out by office depot in 1998. Don't know why the changes are just now hitting ?? Other than they want to make some money and can't with all of us buying the mono so cheap.
$2.99 is still a deal on the refills. I just ordered and got it for $2.39. I will go out on a limb and say that, as with lots of things, Viking has decided it needed to increase the price on some items. Gas prices have gone up and so has everything else, why shouldn't we expect the mono?! Really, $1.88 was too good to be true.

yeah, I just got my reply back from them and they were not sounding like they much cared. But maybe if we all speak our voices will be heard.
I am interested if anyone finds adhesive or any of our goodies at a better price let me know.

I agree with srogers5, 1.88 was a steal!! It is only a matter of time before the price of anything gets inflated!!! Just look in our catalog this year, how many new 11.95 sets did they introduce? and how many 12.95?
Nobody wants to pay more than they have to, especially if they can get it cheaper elsewhere, but cheaper elsewhere is still going to be with Vinking/Office Depot!
The price is still cheaper than anything I have found online. Prices are going up, not much anyone can do about it. I always order with a friend and order 12 each, so we will still get the free shipping. The service is great, overnight in most cases. Here are some prices I found online for the refill, you see $2.99 is the cheapest.
$4.40 (3.69 sale right now)
$4.19 (actual shipping based on zip code)
$3.24 (shipping starts at $7.95 & free shipping over $150.00)
$3.42 (no free shipping, cost determined by zip code ships UPS)
$3.22 (free shipping over $50)
Just google Tombo and you will get lost of sites that it to compare the prices and shipping.
Well i think 2.36 isnt too bad (when you order 12 i think).
When my dh had to order something for work, he registered his own account to get the discount. I guess if you really wanted to you could register a new username. I tried it just to see if it would work (i have 20 unopened refills, so i dont need to order now ) i used the same Visa #, mailing address and name, but a different username and it 'gave' me the $20 off $50. Has anyone tried to call to see if they would give the $20 off $50 more that once?
Someone on another board also recommended going thru ebates (www.ebates.com) to shop at Viking - you get a % back on your shopping.
They also list discount codes like the $20 off a $50 purchase.
I don't know what everyone else's experience has been lately, but I just placed an order (a couple of days ago, SINCE the excitement over the changes at Viking), for Tombo adhesive refills, and here's what happened:
*I do ALL my ordering online
*I ordered $50 worth of Tombo refills, so that I could use the $20.00 off discount. I had no problem putting the code in (it's listed in the thread of codes). Even if it takes me 6 months to use them, it's still WELL worth it.
*If you order $50 worth of refills, and get the $20 discount, you pay approx $1.46 per refill for them. It seems to me, that's cheaper than any quotes I've seen posted here lately. Besides which, this discount does not depend on the product you use -- it's for the total amount before discount ($50). Check it out. Like I said, I can't recall the code, but the one I used, I got from the SCS thread re. Viking codes, that appears at the beginning of that thread as a "sticky." Good luck.
I personally think the price viking offers even before all the discounts, free shipping & freebies, its a good price -considering I can go pay about 5.00 for it at my local craft store. I think we all should be glad they still are offering a reasonable price, they are in the retail business afterall, I doubt they were making any money offering them to us at 1.88 then another $20 off, and then next day shipping!! If us demos did that for any of our customers, we'd be bankrupt, & out of business right?
Most of the other items are still at the prices offered before, but even if they arent I dont think theres any reason for us to be mad over it, We cant force someone to sell something at a possible loss just so we can get it for 1.88. Its their company, and if someone desnt like it, then I guess try to find it elsewhere, but I still think they have the most reasonable price even after the price changes.
OK.... Call me foolish BUT look at the BIG PIC....
old code 1.88 each refil
NOW... If you got to VIking and look at the Mono refill now if you get 6 or more it is 2.99 each.... If you order 17 this total comes to 50.83...You are over the 45.00 so FREE SHIPPING and over $50.00 so you can use the $20.00 discount code SO if my math is correct you will get 17 for $1.81 each and that is BETTER then the $1.88 code. Call me crazy BUT that is what I just did....SO I have 17 for Mono refills for one Crazy price of 1.81 each......
I will take that over 1.88 each any day! I saved $1.19
I also wanted to mention that I ordered using the $20 Viking discount code last Monday. Since I ordered before 11am I got my order ON THE SAME DAY. I live in the Seattle area so maybe that only happens if you live near a distribution center but I was dumbounded. I couldn't believe same day service. Where can you get that these days. When I order from Amazon with "free shipping" it takes about 3 weeks. Service counts a lot with me.

If you order through eBates, you get a 4% kickback... and I've already recvd two checks!
I just finished ordering mono refills and I'm excited about the deal that I received. I used code A09-62202 for mono refills for $2.39 (I ordered 24) and code DC3-PRD20 for $20 off my total. There is also a special right now where you will receive one FREE dispenser w/ every order of 12 refills. I had trouble getting the $20 off coupon to work until I chose the option to order by catty #. I just typed in the number & it worked.
The ebates discount changes. When i ordered it was 5%, yesterday i did an oriental trading order i got 5 or 6%, from Shutterfly (picture printing) it was 8%.
well I couldn't get the code for the $20 off $50 order (probably because I just used it last month!) but I still got the free dispenser with every 12 ordered so that is still a good deal!! This is still the cheapest I can find the mono adhesive anyway so will stick to Viking!!
Does anyone know the code for the full mono (with dispenser)? I have the code for refills and the $20 off but need some dispensers (free with 12 won't get me enough).
Thanks! Beth
I just now (8:45am) Monday, ordered 24 refills with code A09-62202 for the refills and DC3-PRD20 for the $20 off....I was charged $41.00 for the 24 refills with tax, shipping chrgs. That is $1.70 each and that's even better than the $1.88 previously paid. And I'll have my order by Wed. AND even better will get 2 free dispensers.
I just ordered the refills and the free dispenser promotion pops up when you meet the criteria for the special.... for 12 refills, get a dispenser free. It also states that there's no limit on the coupon.

I just ordered 24 refills--with tax & handling, they came out to 1.78 each. Plus the 2 free dispensers (I got the temporary since I have so many of the permanent already). They'll last a long time and they will be here tomorrow! Woo Hoo!
As far as the $20 discount code, you might want to try DC3-PRD20. See if that one works.
On a slight hijack, if anyone wants a z becky brown purse at a deal, joann.com has them and there is a 50 percent off coupon code (NEW51016). Even with shipping, it's still a deal!
it is a clear rectangle shape plastic purse that has some removable foam so that you put a sheet of stamped images between them and you can see them from the outside.
